Who Put the M in Conservative?

There were grumbles from the blue rinse brigade when the Tories moved their conferences from the seaside and signed up to have them in Manchester or Birmingham for the next few years. Guido isn’t sure that the branching out strategy had to go quite as far as stealing the design of Manchester City FC’s website:

Compare and contrast for yourself.

        reasons to vote labour

1 – To make Brown responsible for all the mess he’s created.
        2 – To frustrate Harman’s leadership ambitions
3 – To give customers to the bullying helpline.
        4. – To be able to say in a few months time ” I was there. Right in the front. during the October revolution. I strung was there when they chopped off balls..”
        5. – To be able to buy the House of Commons in the Great Britain closing down sale.

Labour NEED the Conservatives to win. How could the ********** *********** ******* live with themselves if they were forced to confront the complete clusterfuck they have made of the country. They may well have to collectively top themselves if they are made to bring in all those measures which go against everything they stand for.

it is just a template. plus the banner plus three columns is the latest style. these sites are everywhere. not really a story.

      Mr Ned says:

The stylesheets are totally different! The tory site looks a little bit similar to the Man City one, but that is nothing like a copy.

Anyone who designs websites for a living would tell you that they are completely different. There are massive differences between the two sites.

This is a really weak non-story guido. Your standards are slipping here.

At Chilcot today Brown blamed the lack of post-war plannning on the Americans.

So presumably the UK Government did some post-war planning that somehow wasn’t used? I think not. Our post-war planning was inadequate and rushed so that Bliar could rush into war with the Americans.

Of course Brown, lacking a spine, blamed the Americans…. heard that one before?

The most responsible position in UK politics is held by someone who refuses to accept responsibility for anything. Brown is gutless.

Poppy you must be the daughter of the Leader, Tony?

Or are you the daughter of the chap who has bin bags full of £20 notes found in his attic by a house sitter (of course from his toasmaster side line – not his remit on housing) when he was on an exotic holiday last summer.

Or are you the daughter of one who has the large buy to let empire perhaps paid for from selling of the car parks on the cheap?

I could go on Poppy but I wouldn’t want you to have sleepless nights worrying about whether your Daddy will be reelected or indeed go to prison. There’s no cash left, Daddy lost it in the Icelandic banks along with all the other council tax payers money.

        Nigh night, sleep well.

    Guido,

Good point, but it is less a matter of copying the design of the website but more to do with the lack of design imagination of the developers. If you look at the vast majority of websites these days they all look the same.

The first chapter of my book Internet Marketing covers what people hate about websites. The Tory party and the Manchester City FC web developers should have read it first then they could have come up with a design that is user friendly.

    • 41
      Mr Ned says:

Correct, that is why every site I do, I do from scratch and build it with the needs of the visitor in mind, so that they can browse the site easily and find exactly what they need to know quickly, easily and in the best way to lead them further into the site.

The Tory Website lead story is headed ‘Value for money in your town hall.’

Who’s he kidding? His party already controls the majority of local authorities in the UK and yet they are as reckless and wasteful as Labour when it comes to paying themselves (as councillors) and senior council officers. You only have to look at Leeds – £500,000 allowances for ten councillors in the Tory-led ‘Cabinet’ and £55 million for a vanity Arena that no-one needs and would willingly have been built by the private sector in a much better location anyway.

Cameron should have banged heads together in local authorities a long time ago. What can’t speak can’t lie. Unlike a politician.
