Mandy just told a press conference that “we’ve seen no evidence of bullying in Number 10.” He is on the attack and spinning away. Perhaps though he should have reconsidered his choice of words given the fact Tom Watson told the House in March 2009:
“I can confirm that in the period specified (2007-2009), there were fewer than five cases in the Department where staff were disciplined for bullying and harassment of colleagues. It would not be appropriate to provide a further breakdown.”
So there have been confirmed cases, while Gordon was PM, that were investigated. Sounds like evidence of bullying no?
One man who knows a thing or two about the culture of bullying at Number 10 is Alastair Campbell. In the last few months he has been quick to use his blog and Twitter to rapidly rebut anti-Gordon stories. Given the news agenda is dominated by such things, you would think Campbell would be on top of this, offering his two cents and pushing the lines. A quick check shows nothing but deafening silence from Bad Al. So come on Alastair, have you ever witnessed a culture of bullying at Number 10?
As ever, blundering thug John Prescott has waded in suggesting any claims of bullying at Number 10 are void because someone once complained while Coulson was at the Screws etc. Lets not forget John’s own past, or “a bully from a more brutal age” as the Telegraph once put it.
“There is “a really nice atmosphere” in No. 10“
- Anne Snelgrove MP, Gordon Brown’s PPS
Remember this story?
Dropped off after Gordon left the Treasury didn’t it?
There is no news yet on the status of the poor bunker bod who had to deliver the papers to Gordon this morning, hard to find a palatable “news sandwich“ to deliver to him. Ironically it is being reported that Gordon is very angry about the accusations that he gets, errm, very angry. Across the nation the airwaves are dominated with nothing but conversation about the Prime Mentalist’s violent rages and the bullying culture at Number 10.
Well it only took a couple of years to go completely mainstream…

Norman Tebbit has a humble brag:
“We Maastricht rebels were derided and abused for opposing the single currency by the wise, clever, Guardianista soft centre left establishment from whom we now hear so little on the matter.”

Mr Bryant and Mr Watson managing to make the whole hacking affair look like a farce – the more they moan the less I care about the whole subject! So partisan it beggars belief at all costs. They cannot rise above it ! If I was to call the PM a ‘liar’ I would want to be VERY sure.
