    Martin Day says:

When David Cameron was at Eton he dreamt that one day he would have sex with someone!

Now look at him, he’s fucked off all the Conservative Voters

      T.B£iar - the People's Messiah says:

When I was at Fettes I never dreamt I would become so rich.

That war in Iraq certainly helped the old bank balance.

          Mike's shadow says:

Sod off with your pathetic boring posts.

          • Gooey Blob says:

It really does look like desperation tactics from Labour now. The latest Labour campaign “launch” will be one of several, rather like Brown’s own “relaunches”, none of which have had an effect.

Labour don’t get it. They’ve destroyed the country’s finances, and wonder why nobody wants to give them 5 more years, after the 13 we’ve just had. No amount of poorly thought-out slogans will help them now.

          • Exactly right GB.

And now with so many more people getting information from the Internet it is so much easier to compare news stories, and even get involved in commenting.

Even the Guardian reader comments on-line are very anti-Brown apart from the decreasingly few faithful.

The end is nigh for the experiment that has failed so spectaculary.

          • Mike's shithimself(again) says:

Fuck off with your pathetic whining you tinybrained fart-sniffer.

          • Susie says:

I can’t wait to come across one of these posters… ‘A future FUCKED for all’ would be more accurate.

          • Guido's Ghost says:

            Future Funfairs Fucked For All!

      a two fingered kitkat says:

      Well done BBC ............... says:

Just seen Mandelson interview on BBC – post Brown speech – He was taken apart – good for the BBC – and I don’t day that often

Lord M was not best pleased – and it’s downhill hereafter for Labour and Brown – you can see the Labour vote evaporating before ones very eyes!

Leave politics to the big boys.

        Up sh1t creek says:

Peter Mandelson failing in his attempt to control the interview.

Did the BBC presenter grow a pair to go after Mandelson?

        • 195
          PD77 says:

That presenter better watch it, won’t be long before he’s either fired by the BBC or taking a long walk in the “woods”, got to admit it’s nice to see a Beeboid grow a pair though.

          • Anonymous says:

Mandelson is really quite despicable. He is the Tories second best asset at the moment.
He really didn’t like being picked up on the staged Pissed Mogadon programme.

He is better taking back handers for dropping tariffs to benefit Oligarchs from Russia, who have big yachts.

So Peter, tell us all how you managed to garner so much money when you were skint so very recently? We all want to know. Was this money subject to normal Money Laundering regulations? Please do tell.

          • With Brown and especially Mandelson going on about the favoured 3000 estates benefiting from a change in Inheritance tax within Tory Plans. It leaves me confused.

There is nothing about it on Conservative websites.

Surely Mandelson, Prescott, Blair, and the rest of those stinking rich socialist scum will be the main beneficiaries.

Morover IHT along with the new Death Tax proposed by Burnham, are the unfiarest tax ever levied, at a rapacious rate. Funny that there are no Estate duties at all in Australia and NZ. Makes you wonder.

If there was to be a positive move by Labour surely they would have the starting figure at £1m or even £2m. Their fiscal drag on this nastiest of taxes is going to catch hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries who might have voted Labour.

I am really confused. Why the hell don’t the Tories just announce that they will repeal the whole thing in their first term. Fairer for everyone.

        • 309
          Nick2 says:

Not what I’d call a hard interview as there were several points Mandelslime elided over that could have been profitably explored by the interviewer.

However, it’s a good first attempt by the BBC. Presumably they see at last the way that the wind’s blowing…

        • 512
          Mr Ned says:

That was way to weak, I would have taken Mandelson apart on far more of what he was allowed to say.

          • Call me Infidel says:

Agreed he was given far too much time to bluster. However he didn’t like it up him when the interviewer brought up the dead baby sympathy ploy. He looked positively rattled by it. The next few weeks are going to be interesting.

          • Moat Houses with Ducks For All says:

Christ, if that’s what people think passes for a tough BBC interview, it shows just how pathetically weak and feeble the corporation’s journalistic standards have become.

      Barnabas Scudamore says:

You need to take a step back.

If you are honest – the Labour party are now, not in charge of this country.

Gordon and his cabinet (unfortunately for the genuine Labour voter/person) are NOT the Labour party.

Gordon and his communist sleeper friends are not Labour people.

      Jack straw
      Milliband specimen A
      Milliband specimen B
Lord Mandelson (whom on a personal level, I quite like)

These people have used the Labour party as a cover, to get into a position of power.

They have no interest in the Labour party – their aim is global communism.

      Gordon uses the word “progressive”

Her Majesty’s people (military intelligence et al) would call it “subversion”.

So, as a Labour supporter, you can either choose to go down the “football team” mentality route – Blue against Red – Tory against Labour – THEM against US

Or you could do what is RIGHT.

The morally correct thing to do, that will make you feel good about yourself as you know you will have done the right thing.

DON’T VOTE FOR GORDON or ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO DO SO !

Note that I mention nowhere that a person MUST vote Tory – JUST NOT FOR GORDON and for Gordon’s friends, as they are NOT the true face of the average Labour person !

At the risk of a charge of treason, I simply can’t understand why some of those with access to high powered weapons haven’t used them against the traitors in Parliament.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that loss of live ammunition was a serious problem in the armed forces – can’t any of them think of a deserving target for it yet?

        • 320
          Barnabas Scudamore says:

One can’t simply go around shooting people, it is not “part of the game” !

Plus, the level of threat (in our case to Her Majesty the Queen) hasn’t yet reached the same level that JF Kennedy reached.

Once we get to a JF Kennedy threat level, Her Majesty’s Men will take control.

The different driver in Gordon’s official car.

The “new” Police Officer covering the regular officer who is on “holiday”.

The unusual behaviour of the domestic staff at Number 10.

A different route taken by the driver at an unusually high speed – faster and more determined than usual.

        Mr Ned says:

I agree that you cannot vote labour, but there are a lot of the new Cameron conservative candidates who have been trained and graduated from Common Purpose “leadership” courses which instil the Blairite “third way” and “third sector” (government funded private quangocracy) who are just itching to do to the conservative party (and are most of the way there) what Blair, Brown, Mandelson et al did to the labour party.

It has been taken over from the inside by Blairism. In reality that is fascism, a merger of the elite insiders from the corporate and state sector. Where tax payers money is taken and then given to cronies in the private sector to run Government schemes without ANY democratic oversight!

      • 555
        DelBoy says:

Well Barnabus, I would vote for none of the above. All have acted with total disdain to the electorate and all want swilling down the plug hole of history.
I nealy choked on my cornflakes this morning with the thatcher/conservative idea of selling off goverenment owned bank shares to the people. Their people I assume – w-bankers and hedge funds. FFS.

Congratulations to Brown & Co for helping push through the release of Ali Al-Magrahi who has just passed the six month mark after being given a ‘life expectancy’ of just three months at the outside, and is residing in a luxurious apartment. I doubt the fact that the Government got a few Quid off Gaddafi is any comfort to the relatives of the Lockerbie victims.

    • 756
      Gooey Blob says:

Number Ten still spinning, they say there have been “no internal complaints”. When the guy at the top is the perpetrator, it’s not really surprising, is it? Earlier today, Mandelson was claiming that Rawnsley has “a book to sell”. But Mandelson has a party to sell.

We’ve known about Brown’s bullying and temper tantrums here in internetland for a number of years. We’ve known a whole lot more about Brown too. It’s about time the whole sorry lot came out on television, radio and in the newspapers so that the rest of the country can finally discover just what sort of people are leading the country.

      • 804
        Bertie says:

        National Bullying Helpline:

DAVID CAMERON MP: “Stamping out bullying in the workplace and elsewhere is a vital objective. Not only can bullying make people’s lives a misery, but it harms business and wider society too. So I congratulate the National Bullying Helpline for its efforts to give practical support to those being bullied, and to make bullying a thing of the past”.

Piss weak if you ask me. Mandy was allowed free reign to waffle on and get in ALL his pro-labour talking points (LIES) un-challenged.

      • 42

It is gradually dawning on the Beeboids that the threats and sentimental affiliations are out of step with the dire reality of the economic situation.

Brown can’t talk about the past 13 years, and there are glimmers of his reluctant acceptance of cold hard facts.

Having to oversee the begging of extra money to pay the wages every month must be quite exacting. It has to be getting increasingly harder.

          Nick2 says:

Cut savagely, privatise, move to a subscription model. I furiously resent paying for News 24 & BBC3, and others probably think the same about the few parts of the BBC that I pay attention to.

If viewers had to pay to watch output then the BBC could see what was worth making.

Whatever happens, cut all funding to BBC online. It’s a cancer on other news providers that have to pay their own way.

    Moley says:

It seems clear that Labour will give the absolute minimum notice of an election so that they can bend the rules on media balance and expenditure as far as they can get away with.

The rules should be automatically applied in the last year of every Government.

The BBC is failing us again and again. By supporting only Labour, they are leading us inexorably to a one party fascist state.

Paying people too much never works; they become too arrogant and always end up abusing their positions.

          • call me Dave's piggies says:

why not ask the spastic tory glove pupets here like you?

          • The Tories can’t lose in the medium term.

If Brown cheats his way to victory with a rigged postal contribution, or other outright fraudulent means. Then he will have to deal with his own crap.

He isn’t brave or smart enough to do that.

If Brown loses, he will turn on his own party, and they will tun on him.

Labour are all but bankrupt, and the Tories will pull the rug with legislation demanding a positive opt in for Union Members to contribute to political funds. If the unions get aresy, then just sequestrate their funds via the Courts. Or refuse to pay benefits to strikers, as the Unions are therefore responsible.

Brown is totally fucked whichever way he goes. Which is nice!

Pure Karma for an evil charlatan posing as a leader. and married man.

The only interesting conclusion of the GE, will be how much Labour squandered their core voting base to the likes of the Party that dare not speak its name.

Conservatives will also get leakage to UKIP, but with the leadership change there will be damage limitation.

Labour are actually proper fucked, and a predict a CommmeOnnnnnnnn! Kinnock style moment for Brown. He is going to be a Pariah, after being seen as the ultimate ‘Jonah’ of our times. He will have a mental implosion after he reviews his options post analysis of the Election.

I read that he was bailed at Stonehaven (nr Aberdeen) on Monday. God knows how the local rozzers are going to make any charges stick, not to mention explaining (allegedly) instigating a break-in at his residence in Cheshire last weekend.

        Mr Ned says:

Yes he was bailed and had a gagging order and has to report to a police station 3 times a week.

Shame that the police do not go after real children fiddlers and serial abusers with such conviction isn’t it?

I am not just referring to this Hollie case, but in a case I know about, A close friend of mine had a New Year party at her home. She had several friends over for drinks. Her 8 year old daughter went up to bed shortly after midnight. Most of the guests at the party left about the same time. leaving only four guests at this time. The accused excused themselves from downstairs to go to the loo. She was gone a while and returned saying that she had “checked on” the girl and she was fine…and then left the party. My Friends daughter the next morning told her mother what had happened as the guest, a female family friend, had abused her…

My friend then immediately went to the police where the abuse was reported, then they were taken to Preston Hospital for a full medical examination confirming abuse and internal injuries.

The police eventually interviewed the person accused and did so only as a “witness” and not as a suspect. There was NO arrest, let alone charges or anything inconvenient like a trial. The girl is undergoing therapy to deal with the trauma and has had to be hospitalised for trauma related intestinal malfunction.

The accused has not had to go through ANYTHING! They are still working as a nurse in the NHS.

This shit happens, for real and it is NOT taken seriously!

2010 ....It's time to change Britain says:

Actually it was a really “flat”speech which resonated in the hall with his activists but seems to have fallen flat with the wider electorate at first glance. His election slogan is also a very weird phrase and doesn’t trip easily off the tongue either – “A Future Fair for All” What’s that about ?????????

So now he’s fired up his activists; logically he has to follow through with the decison to call for a Dissolution you’d think ?

But remember this is Brown the ditherer who is renowned for his indecisveness and bad judgement calls so who knows.

However I mirror your view that he would be stupid to go to the wire and wait until 6 May.The economic news isn’t going to improve;the Q0110 figures will be out just prior to polling day and it’s likely that they will be pretty dire and of course he’d have to present an austerity budget on March 10th to convince the markets that Labour is serious in tackling the deficit. If he goes for a blatant politicking deferred pain option budget which appeals to the electorate pre-election he risks de-stabilising sterling.

So he may has well risk it.This is probably the “high water mark of labour’s recovery and it’s not likely to improve over the next 75 days

In Brown’s case, the rumours, which are quite frequent and from a variety of sources, are of literal violence.

Well under gordon’s government how about hanging on for a bit …

My elderly parent has just gone into a residential home. She has £18K in savings and her state pension.

Adult Social Service Financial Officer has assessed she must pay over most of her pension for her care but they will let her keep £21 a week.

Oh wait a minute the Pension Service then says they need to assess and they will take away £1 a week for every £500 over £10K that she has. So that reduces her £21 per week to £5.

Oh and wait a minute there is also a top up fee of £40 per week that this government insists that her children must pay, never mind that we also are retired……and on and on.

Now gordon is also going to impose a £20k death tax.

Gordon receives a birthday present. He hurriedly tries to unwrap it like a boy of 6, getting angry that he can not pull apart the sellotape with his fat, pudgy, little fingers, when finally the present drops out onto the thick carpet.
It is a small bottle shaped like a lamp with a cork in it. Gordon remembers his bedtime stories. Wondering who could have sent him such a present he tries to peer at what is on the bottle, but is unable however hard he tries to read the script; so he calls his private secretary to come in and help him, but it is her lunch break. After ranting and raving shouting down the intercom for ten minutes he finally loses his temper and throws his mobile phone at the bottle smashing it to pieces.
Suddenly there is a blinding flash and out pops a Genie.
It says ecstatically, “You have released me from my prison of three thousand years captivity. What, Oh Master is your one departing wish? Name anything and it shall be done!”
Gordon, after some thought replies, “I want Labour to win the next General Election”. The genie replies, “Your wish, My Master is granted!……… but in return Oh Master could you reciprocate me one little, insignificant small favour? ”

Gibbon is believed to have suffered from hydrocele testis, a condition which causes the scrotum to swell with fluid in a compartment overlying either testicle.[19] In an age when close-fitting clothes were fashionable, his condition led to a chronic and disfiguring inflammation which left Gibbon a lonely figure.[20] As his condition worsened, he underwent numerous procedures to alleviate the condition, but with no enduring success. In early January, the last of a series of three operations caused an unremitting peritonitis to set in and spread, from which he died. The “English giant of the Enlightenment”[21] finally succumbed at 12:45 pm, January 16, 1794 at age 56. He was buried in the Sheffield family graveyard at the parish church in Fletching, Sussex.[22] Wiki

    From: jaspreet123-ga on 16 Mar 2006 02:16 PST
How do actors in a film or play produce tears on the spot?

It used to be that a drop of glycerine was placed in the eye just
before filming. Having a similar consistency to real tears, it would
then simply flow out of the eyes. Nowadays, they use a “blower”, which
is a small device containing a substance that causes real tears to
well up when air is blown through it and into the eyes of the actor.

    Greg Haye, Newtown

Instinctive actors work on impulse and create emotions “naturally”, as
demanded by the script. Otherwise, technical tools available to actors
include: emotional memory, where an actor recalls a time when they
were distressed (for instance, when someone close to them died); or
sense memory, where an actor holds a precious object that brings back
the emotions associated with it (for instance, a ring or a letter).

Tricks for film actors include using onions or glycerine to simulate
tears. Stage actors can hold their eyes open or concentrate on a
bright light. Some actors bite their tongues – also good for stifling
inappropriate laughter. Some actors, like many people, just find
    crying easy.

    Gerry Sont, Lindfield

The actress Glenda Jackson once said: “When I want to laugh, I think
about my sex life. When I want to cry, I think about my sex life.”

Some actors and actresses can apparently just turn it on.

The late Gwen Verdon (in a tribute to Bob Fosse) claimed that Liza
    Minelli could cry an demand.

‘Cabaret’ (starring Liza) was arguably Fosse’s biggest directorial hit.

I once knew an acting teacher who suggested that one way to induce
tears (if you’re not one of those actors who can just turn on the
waterworks on cue) was to find a moment to turn away from the audience
or the camera, and discreetly but forcefully pluck out a nosehair.

    The Admiral says:

In case they pull this later:
    “PM denies mistreated staff claims
Downing Street has rejected claims in a Sunday newspaper that Gordon Brown mistreated staff and was investigated over the issue by a top civil servant.
The PM’s spokesman said the Observer’s claim a probe was ordered by Cabinet Secretary Sir Gus O’Donnell was “without foundation” and “malicious”.
Mr Brown admitted he could get angry, but denied he has ever been violent.
At a rally earlier, Mr Brown unveiled Labour’s election campaign themes under the slogan “a future fair for all”.
Claims of staff being intimidated by violent outbursts from Mr Brown are made in extracts from a new book by the Observer’s chief political commentator Andrew Rawnsley.
Earlier reports had suggested the prime minister would be accused of hitting staff, but no such allegation was made in the extracts published on Sunday.
The PM’s official spokesman said: “These malicious allegations are totally without foundation and have never been put to No 10.”
“Every morning I get up with a determination to do my best for this country”
    Prime Minister Gordon Brown

A Cabinet Office spokesman added: “It is categorically not the case that the cabinet secretary asked for an investigation of the prime minister’s treatment of Number 10 staff.
“These assertions have been put to the cabinet secretary who has rejected them.”
    ‘Unwelcome distraction’
In an interview with Channel 4 News, Mr Brown said things were sometimes said “in the heat of the moment”, but added: “I have never hit anyone in my life.”
The prime minister said: “If I get angry, I get angry with myself… I throw the newspapers on the floor or something like that, but please.”
Mr Brown told Channel 4 News: “Of course you do get angry, mostly with yourself. But I’m very strong willed, I’m very determined.
There was speculation the election date might be announced at the rally
    Iain Watson’s analysis

“I think the country wants someone that will push things forward, and not allow things to be stagnant and stale, and every morning I get up with a determination to do my best for this country.”
Mr Brown faced the newspaper allegations just hours after addressing a major rally at the University of Warwick, Coventry, where he urged voters to take “a second look” at Labour.
BBC political correspondent Laura Kuenssberg said: “On the day when Labour was trying to tell the country that Gordon Brown deserves another chance to govern for another few years, it’s at the very least an unwelcome distraction.”
In his speech to party activists, Mr Brown said Labour would be “change makers” who stand up for “the many not the few” and pledged to address issues such as the economy and protect “frontline services”.
Conservative leader David Cameron said the description of Labour as a party of fairness for all was “simply untrue” as it had “badly damaged” the UK.
Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg said it was a “gratuitous insult for him now to claim the Labour Party cares about fairness when it has so spectacularly failed to deliver it”.”

On the Marr programme this morning, Mandy twice (I think) had the opportunity to deny that he had been hit by Gordon Brown. He refused to deny it. I think from now on every interviewer should start by asking him directly ‘have you every been hit by Gordon Brown?’.

The website http://www.workingrights.co.uk has a definition of the grounds which, in the private sector, would make a person subject to ‘Justifiable Dismissal’:

      “Justifiable Dismissal
In every employee’s contract, or a separate document referred to by the contract such as a staff handbook or set of terms and conditions, there will be a list of offences that will result in instant dismissal. These are termed ‘gross misconduct’ and are usually fairly obvious, such as:

      * Stealing, embezzling, or sabotage against the employer
      * Criminal acts not aimed at the employer but performed on their premises
      * Violence toward another employee or general violent conduct at the business
      * Drug or alcohol related incidents
      * Indecent behaviour
      * Serious health and safety breaches at the business”

There is no doubt that what has been described as the Prime Minister’s conduct amounts to ‘general violent conduct’. I do not think that an ordinary member of the public could use a claim to be ‘passionate’ or ‘driven’ as a satisfactory defence against a dismissal for ‘general violent conduct’.

Andrew Marr seems to think these accusations against a Labour Prime Minister are just a bit of a joke. Will anyone else take it seriously. I know that if I had behaved like that I would have been dismissed and be the subject of a legal action.

In 3 months time the country is going to be mired in a hung Parliament and stuck in a similar political mess to the financial one. You do realize that if Davies were Tory leader, he’d be facing the same allegations of bullying in the workplace that Brown is now?

          Thought not.

          • Ted Bundy says:

The allegations of bullying against Brown are just froth and a little pre-election sideshow for the newspapers to have a bit of fun with. If Brown was highly confident and successful and led a first rate Government no one would give a damn. Because he is clearly none of those things the story has been given legs. Britain is in one hell of a mess the last thing it now needs is a hung Parliament with a weak rudderless minority Government unable to administer the tough measures that are going to be required. Even if we do get an outright winner it looks likely that they will have a very small majority. It is a recipe for political chaos which will be amplified across a bitter divided country as the economic crises unfolds. It really does look like history repeating itself circa 1974. An awful lot of core Conservatives are likely not to vote as they no longer recognise or have any confidence in what the modern Conservative party either believes in or stands for. In moving to the so called centre ground and taking onboard every lunatic politically correct cause Cameron is destroying modern conservatism.

          • barefootcontessa says:

The Tories should focus on winning the election. They are obviously taken up with fighting each other, and that is draining their energy from the war to come. Hague has lost confidence, Cameron has lost popularity, Osborne has not improved his performance, Gove has no charisma, and the rest are holding back (for no apparent reason), when the war is theirs to win.

          • Ted Bundy says:

Labour with their record should now be facing annihilation, the fact that they aren’t rests squarely with Cameron. He has sat back in the assumption that the election was in the bag he just had to sit back and wait for Brown to lose. Big mistake Brown has been allowed to get his foot back in the door. If the Conservative party had Mrs Thatcher at the helm they would now be sitting on a 50 point lead with Labour facing a wipeout.

          • flashman says:

Piss and wind from two of the biggest windbags on here.

          • Here's How Dave Can Win (There is no other way) says:

Ted, the blame does not land squarely on Cameron’s shoulders.
It is the previous Conservative government that is causing his problems, hence the reason he spent so much time trying to de-toxify the Tory brand.
He would have been better served formulating popular policies but as Brown has pissed the country’s money away that is proving difficult to achieve.
Millions of people have a very low opinion of the Tories because they were badly affected by previous Tory administrations and are reluctant to vote the Conservative back into power because of personal experience.
Therefore Dave needs to offer policies that are guaranteed to help the majority of people in the country. His attempts to do that have been dismal. Offering cheap shares in banks we have already paid for is just not good enough.
Dave will have to be a true Tory and abolish working tax credits and offer a tranferable increase in the personal allowance to offset the loss of tax credits.
He will have to offer every taxpayer free shares in the banks we have saved from insolvency.
He will have to charge a perpetual levy on all the other banks because without taxpayer support they too would be insolvent and would not be trading today.
He will have to re-nationalise the railways as the Conservatives have already admitted the splitting of the track company from rail companies was a total mistake.
He will have to withdraw our troops from Afghanistan because occupying that country is degrading our own national security.
He will have to re-negotiate our obligations with the EU because they are not in the national interest.
He will have to re-negotiate the Barnet Formula because it is unfair for English residents to pay more tax yet receive less money per head in services than the Scottish, Irish and Welsh.
These are just a few policies David Cameron will have to implement if he wishes to win a working majority in the next parliament.
If he does not announce at least a few of the above policies in the next month he will not win a working majority.
            It really is that simple.

          • Ted Bundy says:

HHDCW you have made some excellent points unfortunately I don’t hear anything like that coming from Dave’s Conservatives and neither does the electorate. In rebranding the Conservatives and moulding himself in the image of Tony Blair Cameron has ensured that a sizable proportion of his core vote either won’t bother voting or will vote UKIP. UKIP have little prospect themselves but have the potential to inflict considerable electoral damage on the Conservative party partially as a result of Cameron’s broken pledge re the Lisbon treaty referendum. Most politicians have the decency and common sense to wait until after the election before they blatantly break a pledge Cameron rather stupidly does it in advance having painted himself into a corner. As regards renationalising the railways (which I agree are a Tory made mess) its simply isn’t affordable. What is also not affordable is the high speed rail link that Labour politicians are fantasising about.

They saw Dave as the antidote to Bliar, whereas he’s (as he predicted) Bliar’s heir, with the same incapacity to put together anything with more strategic weight than the next sound-bite.

If it didn’t matter so much to the country I’d say ‘serve ‘em right’ – but it isn’t just the Tories’ future that hangs on this, but the UK’s. Even the faintest possibility of these proven NuLab failures retaining a modicum of power is unthinkable, yet despite the biggest, opennest goal you ever saw, the Tories are failing to score, time after time.

Official Statement from David Cameron says:

Stop bloody moaning you bastards. Osborne and I are implementing a cunning plan. We want a hung parliament because if we win an outright majority we would pick up the tab for Brown and be blamed for New Labour’s destruction of the economy which would doom us to be destined a one term government.
If we get a hung parliament then we will have time go back to the country after holding a budget which opens the books to the public and shows them the true dire fiscal state we have been left in thanks to the financial incontinence of Gordon Brown. This, we believe, would gain us a decent majority and would draw a clear red line between the previous wasteful and extravagant spending of the New Labour party and the future prudent and efficent spending of the Conservatives.
Perception is all in politics and we want to avoid being tarred with the same brush as Brown.

Yet David Cameron’s Conservatives are struggling to hit 40 per cent in the polls.

An Election that looked like a shoo-in for the ‘Cameroons’ now seems to be a genuine contest, with talk of a hung parliament.

I think this situation is quite without precedent. Why are the Tories not now romping home and enjoying the prospect of the Brown Government unravelling before their eyes?

The only thing now that will really save Cameron’s arse would be if Brown hits the buffers with some kind of big 1960′s style financial crises such as a Gilt strike or Sterling crises, something which the way things are going is perfectly possible.

The Conservatives must be hoping that this occurs giving Brown the humiliation he quite rightly deserves even though it would also inflict huge collateral damage.

The Tory performance has over the last few months been shockingly incoherent and poor.

          Ted Bundy says:

Actually I think Cameron will scrape a single figure majority victory unless Brown hits an economic calamity before he sums up the courage to call an election. A hung Parliament cannot however be totally ruled out. But things really are quite uncertain and the private polling is spooking both of the main parties. There is however if things remain unchanged going to be no Tory landslide Dave’s poor performance has ensured that. There are too many uncertainties in this election for accurate reliable polling. Expensegate, Scottish independence, an abudance of “dont knows” and UKIP to name but a few. UKIP will damage the Tories but the SNP could also hit Labour. It really is going to be a classic hard and dirty fought election.

The MSM are calling it so because it is so at the moment even if it does upset some of this blogs Conservative Cameroons longing for victory. Economic events may yet however kick away the stool from under Browns legs. This is what the Tory Leadership are now privately hoping.

          • Ted Bundy says:

Thanks the link refers to polling in 2007 and Gordon bottling the non election.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again the present Polls are getting a very high return of “Don’t Knows” which means calling the election result is rather precarious. I think we will get a very narrow Conservative win but given this Governments record it should be a an absolute landslide the fact that it wont be is because the present Cameron Conservative party is a dysfunctional mess.

I’m sorry little troll if this upsets you but there is always the possibility that Brown will hit an economic crises throwing all the pieces back into flux.

Now no more bad language please it upsets Guido especially when he has a hangover.

          • lucky jim says:

The point is that the Universal National Swing is a crude calculation that fit’s in with the MSM’s hung parliament agenda, which is why they go with it. Browns internal polling is showing a totally different picture which is why he won’t move until May. Look at this chart which takes account of regional variations in the marginals, and you see that the Tories would still get a decent majority on 6%, http://politicalbetting.com/index.php/archives/2010/02/15/andy-cookes-seat-model-refined/

But OK Ted, you know better than the most successful political blogging site in the UK, so ’nuff said.

    • 642
      c.eng says:

Their campaign is mind bogglingly incoherent with no central core message.
For this they could go back to the basics of conservatism, but therein lies the problem, because they want to deny anything conservative that went before.

      I’ve always felt that Major, Hague and Howard didn’t lose elections because there was anything wrong with their message, but rather because;
      1. It was time for a change
      2. Tony Bliar was a great salesman who persuaded the gullible that everything would get better
and 3. Bliar and Brown bought off the electorate with a 13 year asset bubble.

So in my book rewriting conservatism is unnecessary, because now is the time that its virtues should be apparent. However, like generals, CCHQ is busy fighting the last electoral battle instead of today’s and Cameron seems to have no personal political philosophy to guide them forward.

        Ted Bundy says:

I just wish they would forget all the politically correct crap and go back to the basic core Conservative principles. I think your point about fighting the last battle and not the present one is absolutely spot on. If they would only review their own 1979 manifesto they would find that much of it is still very relevant today. The Conservatives appear completely lacking in courage and too frightened of offending anyone which makes them incapable of showing any kind of direction. We keep hearing these worthy speeches about decentralisation and immediately afterwards here about Central office issuing yet another dictat overruling a local constituency party or imposing an A list politically correct candidate. Given that they are already tearing each other apart behind the scenes what the hell will happen when they get into Government. Finally why the hell can’t Cameron do both himself and the Conservative party a huge favour by clearing up all the obfuscation over Lord Ashcroft’s tax status?

All true, but I also agree that we must get rid of Brown as a priority and as liebour seem to be like the undead, they can only be exterminated by voting them out of power. Cockroaches come to mind.

I would guess most voters will vote to get rid of liebour but to make protest votes where they know a Conservative win is a certainty.

One exception would be that if I lived in Buckingham I would certainly vote to get rid of Bercow and to get Nigel Farage in Parliament.

          • Ted Bundy says:

I think most Conservative MP’s would be delighted to see Bercow culled by Farage as it will save them the job of forcing another Speaker’s election in the new Parliament. It’s all very reminiscent of the demise of Chris Pattern as an MP.

      Gordon Brown's Press Officer says:

A witness said: “It wasn’t that tight a space, but when he drove forward into the space he shunted the car in front.” To add to Cameron’s embarrassment, the entire episode was seen by the car’s owner… who didn’t recognise him.

As soon as he got out of the vehicle she strode up and demanded he tell her his name and give her his insurance details.

A shop worker said: “He was making a bit of hash of parking so we were all having a good look and laughing. It was ever so funny when the woman came up and said she wanted his name, he looked quite embarrassed she didn’t know him.

“He got back into the driver’s seat, reached into his glove box for something and then handed her his name and address through the window.”

Cameron then drove to the West Oxfordshire Conservative Association just a few yards away – where he has a designated parking space.

      Let’s hope it was a large one…

          Sidney says:

Norman represents a large section of British Conservatism that is now largely unrepresented and ignored by Dave Cameron’s New Conservative party. They are seen as bigoted white middle class racists who have no place in a new multi-cultural and diverse Britain where minorities and the LBGT community can flourish in ever lasting harmony and ever closer integration with the European Union. It would be better for everyone and a lot less of an embarrassment for the modern Conservative party if they would all simply die off. The sooner the better.

          • Well done Sid! says:

Now let’s hear it for – and from – the people who are marginalised and unrepresented.

the people who believe in honest money – no – not bonkers bankers and their parasitical coterie

the people who don’t subscribe to the ‘inclusive’ bullshit and accept tokenism

    First Sea Lord says:

    Name of the Beast:

    The Socialised Psychopath or Sociopath

Also known as the corporate psychopath, workplace psychopath, industrial psychopath and administrative psychopath.

Motivation: power, gratification, personal gain, survival
    Mindset: manipulation, deception, evil
Malice: high to very high; when held accountable, off the scale

    Jekyll & Hyde personality
always charming and beguilingly plausible, especially to those who are capable of protecting or enhancing the sociopath’s position
excels at deception (this must never be underestimated, but always is)
    excels at evasion of accountability
is extremely and successfully manipulative of people’s perceptions and emotions (eg guilt and anger)
silver-tongued, has an extreme verbal facility and can outwit anybody (including a top barrister) in verbal conflict
will often engineer himself or herself into a position of authority as gatekeeper of the organisation and thus the person through whom all information must flow, and the person to whom all requests for services must be referred – which he or she then takes delight in denying
is adept at offering weak and inadequate people the positions of power, control, security, influence or respect that they crave but who lack the necessary competencies to achieve – such people are unaware that their consequent dependence on the sociopath makes them permanent manipulatees, pawns and expendable agents of harassment
identifies those essential to the sociopath’s survival and manipulates their perceptions them by making them feel special and thus obligated to reciprocate with support and protection
manipulates others into making fools of themselves in situations where they cannot back down or from which they cannot withdraw – these people become increasingly susceptible to further manipulation and are then trapped as pawns in the sociopath’s game
is likely to be surrounded by people who, having been subjected to control, manipulation and punishment by the sociopath, look wretched and who start to exhibit behaviour best described as disordered, dysfunctional, sullen, aggressive, defensive, hostile, retaliatory, counterproductive or cult-like and for whom disbelief, disavowal and denial are instinctive responses
creates an environment where levels of denial are so great that those involved are oblivious of the foolishness and self-evident absurdity of their denials when presented with the facts, with the result that non-involved observers are led to question whether such levels of denial merit psychiatric intervention
is contemptuous of disrepute to their organisation and of collateral damage and of the destructive consequences for all direct and indirect parties
is always surrounded by and leaves behind a trail of dysfunctional organisations, destroyed businesses, ruined careers, stress breakdowns and unexplained suicides
despite a trail of devastation to individuals, organisations, families and communities, the actions of a socialised psychopath may go undetected or unrecognised for years
a history of conducting frivolous, vexatious and malicious legal actions, especially (but not exclusively) against anyone who can recognise the sociopath for what he is
only after the sociopath is exposed and relieved of position, or they move on, can the full depth of their destructive behaviour be fathomed and the consequences calculated
is skilled at identifying, undermining, discrediting, neutralising and destroying anyone who can see through the sociopath’s mask of sanity
at all times restricts the actions and rights of others (especially those holding the sociopath accountable) whilst aggressively protecting his or her right to do anything without being hampered by social norms or legal requirements
pursues endless vindictive vendettas against anyone perceived as a threat or who attempts, knowingly or unknowingly, to identify or reveal or expose the sociopath, or who makes efforts to hold the sociopath accountable
is adept at appropriating rules, regulations, procedures and law to manipulate, control and punish accusers regardless of relevance, logic, facts or consequences
persists in and pursues vindictive vendettas using self-evidently false evidence or information, even after this is brought to the attention of the sociopath
will often manipulate minor bullies of the Wannabe type (who on their own might or would not merit the label ‘serial bully’) into acting as agents of harassment and as unwitting or unwilling conductors of vendettas
is adept at placing people in situations where the sociopath can tap into each person’s instinctive urge to retaliate in order to use them as his or her instruments or agents of harassment
gains gratification from provoking others into engaging in adversarial conflict
once conflict has been initiated, the sociopath gains increased gratification by exploiting human beings’ instinctive need to retaliate – this is achieved by encouraging and escalating peoples’ adversarial conflicts into mutually assured destruction
revels in the gratification gained from seeing or causing other people’s distress
when faced with accountability or unwelcome attention which might lead to others discerning the sociopath’s true nature, responds with repeated and escalating attempts to control, manipulate and punish
is adept at reflecting all accusations and attempts at accountability back onto their accusers
is adept at creating conflict between those who would otherwise pool negative information about the sociopath
has no limits on his or her vindictiveness
the need to control, manipulate and punish develops into an obsession with many of the hallmarks of an addiction
is skilled at mimicry and can plausibly and spontaneously regurgitate all the latest management jargon
exhibits minimal professional skill level and competency
exploits his or her intelligence to excel at talentless mediocrity
is always identifying the behaviours and strategies to which other people respond with the desired effect
is able to anticipate and credibly say what people want to hear
is easily able to win people over before betraying them or deceiving them or ripping them off
easily manipulates and bewitches an immature or naive or vulnerable or emotionally needy person to be their spokesperson or agent of aggression
exploits anyone who has a vulnerability
    is pushy and extremely persuasive
is sexually inadequate and sexually abusive
is likely to protect anyone accused of or suspected of sexual abuse of pedophile activity, and will frustrate or obstruct investigations into that person
maybe associating with, or actively involved in, abuse or pedophile activity
has no emotions, no emotional processing capability and no ability to understand other’s emotions
is incapable of understanding, initiating or sustaining intimacy
the male sociopath has often convinced a string of women to feel they are in love with him and despite being treated abominably they blindly continue to be loyal to him and minister willingly to his every demand
may start projects with apparent enthusiasm and energy but quickly loses interest
frequently takes unnecessary and uncalculated risks but takes no account of consequences
is reckless and untrustworthy with money
is likely to be illegally diverting or siphoning off significant sums of money to his or her own budget, project, account or cause
is unreliable and untrustworthy in every facet of life
is likely to be leaking confidential information or secrets to third parties
is likely to have committed or be committing criminal or near-criminal offences, eg fraud, embezzlement, deception
is likely to have committed or be committing breaches of harassment and discrimination law, employment law, contract law, etc
disregards rules, regulations, Health and Safety requirements, professional standards, codes of conduct and legal requirements, etc
cannot comprehend the deeper semantic meaning of language and is thus unable to understand or appreciate metaphor, hyperbole, irony, satire etc (these elicit either zero response or a hostile response)
likes, seeks, enjoys and relies on procedure, ritual and ritualistic practices
through arrogant overconfidence takes increasingly risky chances and eventually overplays their hand or makes a mistake which leads to the sociopath revealing him or herself
exhibits parasitical behaviour, takes everything and gives nothing
grabs headline credit for minimal, flukey or other peoples’ success whilst surviving off the backs of manipulatees who are exclusively blamed for all failures
rarely blinks, may have stary scary eyes that cut right through you, or may avoid eye contact completely
    is callous, cold and calculating
    is devious, clever and cunning
    is ruthless in the extreme
regards people as objects and playthings to be discarded when surplus to requirements
    displays zero empathy
completely without conscience, remorse and guilt
    malicious and evil

I take your point, however like Blair, Cameron is of a completely different character then Brown. Cameron gives the impression of being far more in the loop. He has been carefully prepared for what he is about to let himself in for, and will one day back out, in a similar fashion to Blair. Which will be just as the real shit is about to hit the proverbial.

          Who will replace him?

I have little idea, other then a genuine hunch that hardly any one has heard of him or indeed her right now. Although there is still a possibility that it will turn out to be David Davis. After all during a World War or similar, the establishment like to have at their command someone used to taking more direct orders, and the military experience to help carry it off. Churchill for example.

We all have a boss. Prime ministers especially have more powerfully evil bosses then the rest of us. Largely anonymous ones at that, who enforce their utter power from behind the curtains of world corporate might. I doubt that GB has even met his real puppet master. I am not even sure he knows who he is.

Being in this sort of situation would make even the most stable of us start to do a Stalin or Hitler before too long. In the case of born nut jobs like Brown it surprises me he has not yet tried to nuke somewhere expendable, or slit his own wrists. Maybe he has? The People's bonus from the people's princess Gideon says:

Shadow chancellor George Osborne has drafted a “people’s bonus” plan which offers the public the opportunity to buy cheaper shares in state-owned banks.

In an interview with the Sunday Times, Mr Osborne said that the Conservative party wanted to introduce the measure to compensate taxpayers for the £850 billion they paid to bail out failing banks during the financial crisis and recession, including Northern Rock, Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and HBOS.

He explained: “The bankers have had their bonuses. We want a people’s bank bonus for the people’s money that was put into these organisations.”

Mr Osborne said he would only put his proposed plan into action when banks were regulated to the extent that they could not take the risks they have been able to take in recent times.

The sounds of the tanks surrounding the city walls can now be heard clearly in the bunker, and there’s nowhere left to run.

          • Happyness Stan says:

I hope you find a difference between people who pay to have their own butts whipped, and people who verbally or otherwise abuse others in any way shape or form, who do not wish to be abused. Public employees such as post office counter staff, often call the cops if a member of the public so much as raises their voice at them more then once.

No I did not think so.

Personally I take great pleasure in slapping a woman’s arse, but only ever if they also ask for, and enjoy it. I thought you liberals were into a bit of sexual freedom of expression. Or does your sort of nonsense only apply to people who claim to be of the left?

Or are you claiming that these prostitutes were forced against there will to slap these MP’s. If so then that is an entirely different matter.

Half the cabinet are either self confessed gay, lesbian trans or bi-sexual. Yet I doubt very much whether this will be even a minor factor in the coming election result. It could be very likely that if Cameron handles the situation well, these revelations could even increase the Conservative vote. After all we need all the laughs we can get after the last 13 years, and will need then even more over the next.

            As for the coke.

As we all know virtually the whole of the House of Commons is almost choking on the stuff, as is the MSM. Glass houses and stones come to mind. Which is why you will not get hardly any MP’s or members of our illustrious MSM throwing anything anywhere for long.

BTW no one has ever been charged or even arrested because some one said they once saw someone snorting something. You have to actually have the physical evidence not pictures of white powder and rolled up 20′s.

            Also BTW

It is very likely that there is much true, but also hear say evidence concerning all types of perversions, financial corruptions and illegal drug taking in the hands of the media, very possibly concerning every single MP of every single party.

They will collectively close shop even quicker and firmer then they did on MP’s expenses, if all of this guff started becoming public knowledge. After all where would it all end, and why did it not all come out a long time ago?

    • 924
      c.eng says:

Or even just to tell the truth, but then they are obviously threatened with God knows what to shut them up, and who knows what happened to David Kelly. It’s all getting a bit scary.

      • 1135
        Happyness Stan says:

Let us all face the truth.

We all know in our heart of hearts what happened to David Kelly, and it most surly was not what we have been told it was. No one is threatening us with any revelations, yet where are the protests and constant letters to our MP’s on the matter?

You see no one really cares about the murder of other people, until the jackboots start marching down their particular piece of street. by then of course it is far too late to do anything but beg for mercy, or brown stain your undies.

All politically motivated protests are organised, and usually also financed by the establishment, one way or another. The Trades Unions and our Universities are now and have always been subverted up to and over their heads. Which is why there is currently no protests over anything whatsoever still less that which the establishments BBC and MSM will give any proper coverage and therefore publicity to. At a time when there should undoubtedly be more protests then at any other time in our modern history.

We are alone, as we always have been.

The establishment may feel the need during the next Conservative administration to use their old tried and tested street protest method of agenda control. Personally I believe they are clearly chomping at the bit to do so, before the rust sets in.

Therefore do not be again fooled into believing that public protest has ever been spontainious or anything to do with true uncorrupted public opinion. The last, and very possibly the only time this has ever happened, was during the internet organised Fuel Protest, on which the full force of the establishment came crashing down within a matter on hours.

Heseltine: Tories cannot win outright says:

David Cameron will not win a general election outright and will struggle to form a government, according to Lord Heseltine.

The party grandee stunned activists by claiming that history was against Mr Cameron’s hopes of securing an overall majority.

Instead, the former deputy prime minister said he would “put money” on a hung parliament, with the Tories the largest party. Mr Cameron would then be forced to call a second election later this year to seek a proper mandate to govern.

His comments, at a meeting of party members in west London, reflect a growing anxiety among the leadership about the size of the task they still face to secure outright victory.

The results of a YouGov poll show the Tory lead narrowing to six points. A separate poll shows Mr Cameron’s personal lead over Gordon Brown has been halved in the past six months

The point is don’t pretend outrage for something you find perfectly acceptable when it was Thatcher doing it or anyone else or you are a pathetic fucking hypocrite.

Even Cameron has forced numerous ‘old guard’ Tories out and his henchmen leaned on the ‘turnip taliban’ and any other local constituency grouping who didn’t like his new model tories on the list. They complained about bullying from central office. Were you feigning outrage them ?

Major called Portillo and the plotters bastards but like Brown outmanouvered them by saying put up or shut up.
            He’s a coward too is he ?

And for that he will be booted out.
But Wavy Davy will be lucky to get a majority because the British public are hardly very keen on him either.

That’s the real truth and if you don’t like it you can fuck off back to central office and find a spine.

          • Happyness Stan says:

We are talking about STAFF that means employees not other MP’s. Thatcher was not a bully, she quite enjoyed being described as one, it was after all very good for her image, and would be also good for Browns if it was only his MP’s he was being accused of bullying.

Also it was not Thatcher that brought in draconian legislation for which to outlaw this sort of thing. She was not a hypocrite she was proud of few her examples of strong will.

However Thatcher was not at all what she claimed to be. She was bullied time and time again into doing things she did not personally believe was right. When she finally put her foot down on matters concerning the EU, she was stabbed in the back quicker then she could say NO, NO, NO again.

For you can be absolutely certain it was the issue of the EU that did for Thatcher not the Poll Tax. Surly after the events of the last 13 years, this is now self-apparent, as well as being a well documented fact.

The Poll Tax was not at all unpopular with Conservative Voters. Which were the only voters Thatcher had to worry about at the time. She would have won in 92 by an even bigger margin then Major, if certain Bilderbergers within her own party had not done for her well before time.

Major was also later politically assassinated, as was the British economy by the same people (namely Soros and his banking chums ) as soon as they found an electable alternative, (namely Tony Blair and Gordon Brown) and Major had shown that he could not deliver his party and the country into the Bilderbergers beloved wholly FASCIST Super-State.

          • Happyness Stan says:

May I also state that yes in many ways PM’s are and should be bullies of sorts. In that they should have a clear agenda, for which they should take full responsibility. Brown has neither a clear agenda, nor has ever taken responsibility for anything, possibly nothing he has ever done in his entire life, and it shows.

Thatcher did not lie to the electorate, throw anything at anyone, swear at staff, or indeed swear at her ministers, perhaps she should have done.

But what she most certainly did not do was deliberately go out of her way to betray every single thing her own parties supporters believed in.

Time and time again Blair and Brown talked the libertarian talk, but swiftly marched the authoritarian goose step.

Brown has not just bullied his own civil-servants, and MP’s, he has bullied them into fundamentally selling there sole’s and our futures to the corporatist devil, and thrown away any possible chance of future redemption.

I would guess that there are very few people that voted for Thatcher that actually regretted doing so. On the other hand if it were not for the BBC’s, and Murdoch’s ever more unsubtle Fascist propaganda and the fact that around 70% of the population are now directly dependant on a degree of government hand outs simply to pay their basic living expenses, Labour would now be lucky to be polling above 5%.
