Quote of the Day
Irwin Stelzer says..
“I love Gordon, but I wouldn’t trust him to go on from the situation with this level of deficit. His every instinct is to spend more because he believes in social justice … he wants the state to do nice things for people and that’s the wrong mindset for right now.”

I don’t think he’s listening.
Like we keep saying, Gordon’s bonkers.
We all want the state to do nice things for people. So long as we’re not paying.
They are bieng “nice” by spending untold quadrillions of taxpayer’s money on the unbelievable volume of nannying public informations ads on the telly. I would love to know which new labour crony ad agency is getting rich off these.
Irwin may claim to like Gordon but I doubt the Dear Leader loves Irwin. Not since Irwin’s tirade against the DL in The Sunday Times in Dec 2007 – aligning himself with Mervyn King and essentially admitting ghat Brown was paralytic.
I want to do nice things for you as I am the saviour of the world! so I will stay as your pm forever as it is the right thing to do. All our .problems started in America and we are doing better than Spain. Bananaman x x
Gordon Brown, as Chancellor, agreed to follow Conservative spending plans for the first 3 years of the Labour Government that was elected in 1997.
During that time the Government repaid debt.
Despite claiming that as Chancellor he presided over the longest period of growth ever, throughout much of that period he failed to repay debt.
He Borrowed in 2002
He Borrowed in 2003
He Borrowed in 2004
He Borrowed in 2005
He Borrowed in 2006
He Borrowed in 2007
He Borrowed in 2008
He Borrowed in 2009
If Labour are re-elected in 2010, Gordon Brown plans to
Borrow in 2010
Borrow in 2011
Borrow in 2012
Borrow in 2013
Borrow in 2014
Borrow in 2015
He has borrowed up to the hilt, he has lived on borrowed time.
He has never managed to balance a budget unless following Conservative spending plans.
