Totty Watch : Brown to Win Election!

In Ted Kennedy’s old Massachusetts senate seat it looks likely that it will fall to the Republicans.  Obama has pushed his face on to the Democrat branding in a risky bid to retain the seat and crucially his filibuster blocking sixty in the Senate, but polls are showing America’s former “Sexiest Man”, Scott Brown in the lead. Well if a comedian like Al Franklin can do it…

This really would kick off a massive round of the winter vomiting virus if Gordon Brown was pictured on a similar poster.

IF they have to report it, I guess that they will spin it as ‘image obsessed Americans vote for image and looks over substance’.

Whaddya mean IF. Their 530-strong election night coverage team has already chartered a 747 and reserved the entire local Hilton to bring you breathcatching blow by blow commentary of how his opponent does. Cheers license fee payers.

It’s the BBC’s little contribution to climate change. Hypocritical bastards! Fortunately for all of us, the whole CO2 AGW thing is bullshit, so instead of frying the planet all they are doing is pissing away public money and pouring a few tons of oil into the atmosphere.

It’s amazing to see how unpopular the Obama administration has become with the American people in the last 12 months. Still, the BBC, Cameron and Brown will continue to heap undeserved praise on him. Gitmo still going strong. Two wars ongoing with several new ones planned. True US unemployment at 20%. The occupation of Haiti. Amazing.

Some of us were not, I knew the guy was a complete fake, it was obvious.

Obama is probably going to be a worse Pres than Dubya and that takes some doing.

If the Republicans win the seat today or run even close then god help every other Dem running this year in Nov because this is the bluest democratic seat as they come.

    • 17
      Mr Ned says:

I wasn’t. Nothing to do with race either, more the people who he surrounded himself with, who funded his campaign and what clubs and societies he belongs to.

All the top democrats and republicans are all in the same societies, and all take their policies from the same think-tanks funded by the same elitists puppetmasters.

Obama was always going to be a disaster. I really wish America had been allowed to support Ron Paul.

      • 26
        rick says:

Ron Paul was too much against the usual vested interests to stand a chance for the presidency. He even wanted to reform, if not eliminate, the Federal Reserve. It is thought in some quarters that ideas such as these may have contributed to JFK’s early demise.

      • 56
        Chris says:

America was allowed to support Ron Paul, but thank Christ, it decided not to. He’s a lunatic. Would have been a bigger disaster than Obama, and that’s not something I write lightly.

    Mr Ned says:

I didn’t know that people in Massachusetts knew how to vote Republican. Voting Republican to them would be like how THEY would think of the UK voting against the Queen. Unimaginable.

    • 20
      Sunonmars says:

They usually don’t, however Mitt Romney won there in the 90′s and the state is actually registered 51% independent, 34% Democrat and 15% Republican so actually its really not a democratic state if it doesnt want to be.

      • 74
        Pete Wass says:

Romney won in the 2000s actually, but he did succeed Celluci who was elected in the 90s and Weld who was elected twice in the 90s, the second time with the largest margin in state history.

The Independents usually break fairly heavily for the democrats, but Coakley has run a shit campaign while Brown has hardly put a foot wrong.

Oddly, Coakley’s “my sister lives in the middle east” response on forein policy experience didn’t attract the same criticism that Sarah Palin’s comment about seeing russia from parts of alaska did. Odd that.

        • 82

  20. 58
    Trev says:

I think you are missing the point.

About 18 months ago jonah gave a debilitatingly turgid speech to the assembled Kennedy Clan and their associated New England liberal Democrat cronies, somewhere in Boston (no doubt). The content of said speech has now long since completely passed into history and been forgotten. I strongly suspect that many present , those who remained awake, were strongly contemplating that a better alternative would be to eat their own entrails by its end.

    The point …

Within days, if not hours, Ted Kennedy came down with a brain seizure and subsequently died. And now his old seat is heading for the Republicans.

    Exiled in Wales says:

Comments in the NY Times suggest that America is falling out of love with Obama and that he may be a one term president come 2012. The comments are the same as here – they’re fed-up with big-spending government, they see that wherever the Democrats are in power that taxes creep-up all the time, they don’t think (having never had a proper job) that he understands the problems of unemployment and they don’t like a Health Bill which will insure those people who’ve never paid a penny into the US system. And in Mass, they don’t like the idea that the democrats hold the Senate as of right. Don’t call this Ted Kennedy’s seat … they say. The change to 41/59 in the Senate might just accelerate Obama’s decline.

    • 72
      Exiled in Wales says:

PS The Beeboids are trying to put a positive spin Obama’s first year in office – quote ‘ … moving from the poetry of the election to the prose of governing’ – and other such New Labour drivel.
