I never did.” He claimed he didn’t phone up hacks or editors and didn’t manipulate Standard headlines. Nobody believes him.
The real cheek though has been his constant referrals to his diaries – forget the oil – that’s the real blood money. Using a public inquiry and unbroken TV coverage as nothing more than an opportunity to flog his book is low even by Campbell’s standards. Don’t let him make any money out of this. Blair sent over a letter to their PM trying to persuade him to join with us and the yanks, he could read it then had to hand it back to the British Ambassador. Obviously didn’t want any evidence lying about.
I always thought this idea of a “legal war” was a bit odd. I mean, war is a case of killing lots of the other country’s people, right? Killing is murder, and murder is illegal, so killing lots of people is definitely illegal, right? So isn’t all war illegal?

They would support military action in the event that the UN inspectors found WMD and Iraq refused to disarm.

A realistic first step would be for the incoming government to announce that no new “faith schools” will get state funding and that all existing faith schools will a) have to cease making parent or child’s religion a criterion for admission, and b) be given 5 years to demonstrate that their intake is no longer exclusive to a particular religion or forfeit state funding. Even better, if religion can be separated from school-based education altogether.
This would not only bring to an end the ridiculous tyranny of church schools over parents who just want a local primary for their kids but promote better integration. I can’t help feeling that we have had to put up with state funded Islamic schools purely because Blair wanted to be able to play the religion card for his own kids, thereby getting the traditional academic education for them which he would have denied to others whose parents don’t do God.

I think Chilcott let the cat out of the bag early on when he said the aim of the enquiry was not to attach blame but to seek to understand the processes involved (so that lessons can be learned as usual? – yawn).

However, looking at the draft versions of the dossiers (originally published in Word format with edit histories turned on) and comparing them to what they were amended to say after Campbell chaired that “PRESENTATION” meeting. It clearly showed that Campbell’s role was to COMMUNICATE the fact as originally presented to him that Saddam was not a threat at all, even to her neighbours, and PRESENT that fact as LONDON IS 45 MINUTES FROM DOOM!!!!
In other words, his role was to present the known evidence in such a way as to communicate the 180 degree opposite as to what was real.

Unfortunately, Kay Burley isn’t renowned for her dogged pursuit of interviewees who are found to have been economical with the truth. I think she could have been much more rigorous with her questioning. Hilary Armstrong got off lightly – and she knew it.
I thought Kay was letting the audience make up its mind and the sight of a grown woman lying like a 6 year old (and as unconvincingly) was in this case, quite telling and would have been amusing if it wasn’t so bloody tragic and at the cost of many lives.

The first game I ever designed and created was a full 3D hidden wireframe portal based shooter when I was in school about. That would be about 24 years ago; ten years before Doom. Simply, you can spend your life hoping to be pulled out of a hole or arguing yourself into one. Myself, I’m turning talk into action. It’s a ruinously ambitious project but worth taking a crack at.
Seeing the big boys release games with emotiontronics, normal mapping, and large areas has blown a leg off, and some of the ongoing developments are making me sweat, but I’m confident enough about the core of my tech and creativity to think I have something to offer in spite of being up against 100 man teams and multi-squillion budgets. The reason, here, is any fool can throw tech and pixels at the wall. Doing a great game takes insight, experience, and character, not short-cuts. It’s something you earn the hard way.
So, nobody wanted to develop or publish your design. That’s a reality but it can be saying many things. It could be that you’re not one of them, or your design is rubbish. Then again, your own character and design style may have a spark they’re to dumb to see. You could take it as a knockback, or as a fantastic opportunity to seize the initiative. What you perceive is determined by how you think and feel. This can change. A little play and experimentation can help that along. It eases the shock of getting in gear.

What you say is true but one of many perspectives. I have a game plan and, so far, it’s been on the ball. Things have changed since I started but that’s as much a good thing as it is a bad thing.
