Attack of the Fifteen Foot Dave

In yet another attempt to rattle Labour with how much money they have, the Conservatives have rolled out yet another poster campaign. This time featuring a giant airbrushed Cameron. Guido was particularly tickled to see that one of these giant billboard posters have been bought outside the entrance to News International’s headquarters in Wapping.  This morning streams of Times and Sun hacks had to walk past a giant Dave begging for their affection.  Subtle.

Great idea and a great ad. How about buying up a billboard near Labour HQ, that will really rattle them.

Europe wide Democracy? I don’t remember voting for the new President or the so called Treaty that created his post. What we are looking at in the European Parliament is a Dictatorship very much like the one Brown and his cronies are trying to create by Boundary fiddling, scaremongering and pre Election bribes to the gullible ( and let’s not forget his reliance on the ‘Praetorian Guard’ of Scottish MPs in Parliament voting on purely English matters). As for moustaches, what about an Oliver Hardy one for Brown?

          • barefootcontessa says:

Ruin with a moustache would be fun, Bob Aintworthajot’s safe, he’s already got a Hitler moustache.

I’ll cut the dodgy claims so instead of millioniares like me ripping off my expenses we will be able to reduce the deficit, not the NHS.

          • Attack of the Conservative Puff Piece says:

fuck sake Guido at least have some kind of excuse for being Coulson’s dogsbody and Dave’s Public Relations chum other than some posters are near Wapping and this poster is big

            Subtle indeed

You’re running on empty just now and losing all pretence of being anything other than just another Conservative blogger taking Ash*rofts coin for fawning copy

            Whatever next?

Charles Clarke thinks Brown should step down shocker? Labour MP says he wants Brown to step down and has said so on his website? Nick Brown doesn’t like plotters?

        Steve Expat says:

Dick, Cameron is a personable man who opinion polls say is more popular than his party, who are still thought of as ‘nasty’ by some.

The subtlety of putting DC on the posters is to compare him to his opponent – can you ever imagine Labour doing the same with their Glorious Leader? It’s an attack on Broon without having to mention his bad name.

        • 104
          Dick the Prick says:

I’m not against it – just hope it isn’t all going to be like this. Cameron isn’t as strong with the Tory base as other leaders have been – no bad thing considering a lot of Tories are unreformed neanderthals but it would be foolish to take Bliar’s mantle and be the glorious leader. He’s only storing up more resentment.

Grass roots people need to feel included – hell, we all need to feel included after being steamrollered for so long and it just seems a PR exercise, bland, anodyne and yet vain. I do hope it is effective – certainly the message is simple and the recognition factor of Cameron is a useful commodity.

This heir to Bliar thing though – are we just in the wake of yet another bandwagon?

          • Steve Expat says:

I think that the Tory campaign has been thought through and planned over the past couple of years, there will be different themes and policies for each department.

Showing Cameron personally when talking about the NHS is a good idea (he has very good personal experience of it) and any talk of Cameron reminds us that the choice at the ballot box is either him or the incumbent to run the country!

That said, you have a point about being presidential, I would hope that other posters will be not just of Dave with a quote.

PS I’m sure Guido won’t object to your non de plume!

          • Dick the Prick says:

Yeah, bit freaky that – first time that’s ever happened and bang about Redwood’s site. Hey ho – none of my business!

          • Moley says:

            Reply to Steve expat.

The horrible problem is that MPs get preferential and deferential treatment on the NHS so they have no idea of the God awful reality faced by the electorate.

The only way to run a service like the NHS with public funds is to directly monitor user satisfaction as the one and only target.

          • Steve Expat says:

Moley, can’t comment on how MPs use the NHS (or don’t).

There was certainly a fair bit about monitoring outcomes rather than processes in the Tory draft health manifesto this morning and lots of ideas about patient choice and localism, also removing the micromanaging role currently played by ministers in the NHS.

Correct, Clarke, Osborne, Cameron et al are all Rothschild puppets and Bilderbergers who will continue the same basic direction as labour. Onward towards a single, unitary, global dictatorship. So they have some policy differences, but the overall direction of labour and tory are exactly the same as the Republican/Democrat direction in the USA and the center ground of the EU. Obama has not been much different to Bush on the general direction of Government. Differences in who pays for healthcare, but not in who profits, differences in emphasis in the war on terror, but not on who dies, who is tortured, who is detained etc…

Even on Climate, Bush showed that he had bought into the climate change scam at the end as he was seeing the global war on terror fail to establish the global governance that it was designed to create under the “with us or against us” a strategy designed to scare the world’s nations into compliance and acceptance of an American lead global Government. The Rockefellers are behind that strategy as a means to employ Americas military strength to gain a strangle hold over the world government.

It seems that scaring people with climate disaster costs less, has the potential to be more profitable and more governments around the world will buy into it more easily. The “Global warming” scam is a Rothschild supported scam. The Rothschilds were behind funding Hitler to power and the Eugenics movement. They are now continuing this work under the man-made climate change banner.

The man-made global warming scam has the added benefit (to the eugenics supporting elite) that it can make fuel and food so expensive the it will kill hundreds of millions of the world’s poor through starvation and hypothermia (in cold countries in winter) or hyperthermia (in hot countries in the summertime.

The massive shift in reality that occurs in people when they begin to, or are first getting information that shows that the UK is NOT a democracy and has not been for over 75 years now, and that shows that the signing of the Lisbon Treaty (and many of the previous treaties) without a referendum is an act of treason, and that we are being forced down a road to corporate servitude and death under a global dictatorship that wishes to reduce the global population to about 500 million people is SO VAST, SO out of what they experience daily, so different from the virtual reality (or reality shaded with utterly false context) that they just switch off and go back to sleep.

We need to remain calm and present facts in a much more cold, matter of fact manner.

I had a great deal of difficulty in accepting that the entire establishment would conspire against the wishes of the people.

Present cast iron examples of the “establishment” conspiring to create a false reality and people may wake up.

Well the whole Iraq WMD reason to go to war in Iraq was such a conspiracy. Despite NO evidence to support the claim that Saddam retained WMD into this century, a lie was formulated, disseminated by BOTH mainstream political parties and the print and television media, examples of blatant and deliberate and wilful forged and invented evidence was downplayed. The fact that ALL evidence supporting Iraq still having WMD was debunked publicly in the blogosphere before the invasion and the only claims repeated by the establishment were known forgeries (and they even lied about them) and false hoods. (IF they had real evidence, why did they need to forge false evidence to convince the public?) The mainstream media parroted “official” lines completely uncontested and unchecked.

The known production capacity of Iraq’s weapons labs, and factories alongside the laws of physics and Chemistry and Biology prevented the claim from even being remotely possible.

It was not the job of the dissenters and sceptics to prove a negative, it was the job of those who were positive that Saddam retained a WMD capacity that was a threat to us, to prove it. They never ever got close to proving it. All they did was create a collective group think based upon an alleged “belief” that Saddam retained a WMD capacity.

Well people can believe all sorts of things. People can believe in pixies and unicorns, but that is not something that is concrete enough to go to war and kill over a million people.

The media NEVER challenged the lies. Even when the yellowcake lie blew up in their faces, they only reported that it may be a forgery. They NEVER investigated where it came from, or why it was created, or why the proponents of the war were relying on forged information to go to war. They ALL conspired to allow war to take place.

Labour, tories and the mainstream media are ALL complicit in the disgusting and inhuman atrocities and war crimes that have been committed in Iraq. It was clearly a conspiracy to pervert natural and international justice. The evidence supporting the case for war was so weak, that there is NO WAY that the media could have simply failed to do their job in holding the executive to account. They were complicit in deliberately and wilfully misleading the people of this nation.

When we went to war, in direct opposition to the will of the people and over such flimsy, faked evidence, then I became convinced that there truly is an “establishment conspiracy” to pursue a single agenda outside of any democratic accountability.

          Mr Ned says:

“Do you really think the public will buy that line from the people who bankrupted the country?”

NO I DO NOT. I HATE LABOUR AND EVERYTHING THAT THEY CURRENTLY STAND FOR!

But I cannot understand where hatred of labour and complete and total disbelief in everything they say turns into blind and delusional acceptance of anything the tories say.

You can demonstrate the palpable delusion of the average tory voter if you like, But I am no labour troll and would happily demonstrate said fact with extreme physical violence against any labour candidate or supporter. The problem you blind and delusional tories have is that you cannot see how Cameron, Osborne et al are all puppets to the SAME puppet master as Blair, Brown et al. Labour and tory disagree with each other because they are both vying to take their place at the same profoundly anti-British trough.

You can insult me, call me a brainless fuckwit, question my manhood, insult my family, but if you ever dare suggest that I am any kind of labour supporter and you will be wearing your ball-sack as a gimp-mask, UNDERSTAND??? That is fighting talk and I do not fuck about when it comes to breaking people.

Labour and tory are the same. That said, I would far sooner people vote tory than labour, if you are so conditioned and braindead as to genuinely believe that that is your only choice, but I cannot see the point in replacing the evil labour traitors with the evil tory traitiors.

Cameron is not even in power yet and he has already sold the British public out!

UKIP are the only conscionable option.

I voted UKIP at the EU elections because I was happy that the tories would win, and I wanted to see UKIP beat labour.

I was thinking of voting tory at the next election, but Cameron’s craven cowardice to give in to the EU dictatorship finally convinced me that he truly is a vile cowardly puppet of the Rothschild elite. Like many former tories, I gave CMD chance after chance after chance to prove that he really is a conservative, a real conservative, but there is not one conservative bone in his body.

On Climate change, the Iraq war crimes, banking bail-outs, the EU and through the EU, ID cards, immigration, crime, terrorism, education and much more, Cameron’s tories will be the same as Labour.

The last national poll in this country (last June) saw the tories win, UKIP come second and labour third. UKIP beating the governing party, arguably, makes them a bona fide mainstream party)

You can either vote FOR Britain, or you can vote for anti-British extremists and traitors and puppets of the EU dictatorship. You cannot vote FOR a better Britain by voting tory or labour or liberal. You can only vote against Britain by supporting those traitors.

The tories have NO answers on the economy, they only offer supine submission to the EU, the plan to prolong the pain and death in Afghanistan, they are impotent on immigration and crime and punishment, and completely wrong on Climate Change.

        Australian says:

“People moan about the NHS all the time, but no-one questions the premise that the government shouldn’t manage our healthcare.”

I think you meant, “the premise that government should manage our healthcare”. I, for one, certainly question it. The idea that healthcare should be determined by politically manipulated government diktat is utterly abhorrent.

A doctor should be someone *I* consult as a matter of choice and with whom my discussions are completely private. A doctor who is employed by the State is required to make medical decisions as required by that State (and to report to the State any discussions he may have had with his patients, when the State dictates he must do so). Such a doctor cannot therefore function according to the Hippocratic Oath.

At a purely economic level, any goods or services provided “free” at the point of use will always be over-demanded and therefore, by definition, result in a wasteful and inefficient allocation of resources.

In summary therefore, the NHS will always be inherently wasteful of money and other resources, providing a poor standard of medical care in the most inefficient manner possible. It will also always be morally indefensible as those employed by the State are required to work in the State’s interests, not in their patient’s interests.

NHS the funding black hole says:

The NHS has become so unproductive, that a cut of 4% would be have little cut on the actual performance of the NHS as all that is required is competent management of the NHS so that those employed by the NHS performed more efficiently.

The cut in the NHS budget could be coupled with market reforms such as those already announced for GP practices that proposes to allow patients real choice of GP for the first time. If money walked with the patient then that would ensure that the patient receives competent healthcare, as under the current system there exists little if no incentive to put the patient first which is borne out time and time again in analysis, reports and polling amongst NHS frontline staff. The current system is designed to to yield the most money for the least amount of work as we have witnessed with the GP contracts.

Therefore a form of health insurance / credit card system MUST be implemented where the Patient CHOOSES which hospital or GP surgery to PURCHASE healthcare from regardless of whether it be a government run NHS institution or a privately run hospital as analysis consistently suggests there exists a huge discrepancy in the quality of GP services between affluent areas of the country and deprived areas which has contributed to a 20 year gap in life expectancy (UK Swine Flu Pandemic NHS Online Service to Bypass Inept GP Surgeries), only then will the patient come first and receive the treatment that they deserve rather than the current half way house that costs more and repeatedly fails to deliver the price of which is unnecessary illness and early deaths.

    • 137
      jgm2 says:

suggests there exists a huge discrepancy in the quality of GP services between affluent areas of the country and deprived areas which has contributed to a 20 year gap in life expectancy

But it is the same self-destructive tendency that results in early deaths due to alcohol, smoking, malnutrion and poor education that leads to 28% of the population voting Labour. No Labour government is going to tackle the self-destructive mind-set of its core voters. Quite the opposite – they’re going to pay them to breed and remain in their self-destructive ghettoes.

The public only has a small appetite for negative campaigning though, and it doesn’t do much to keep the Lib Dems out.

Labour has been so awful that the ad men are spoilt for choice. Brown is the best weapon the Tories have got.

And because of his own incompetence, delusional grandiosity, cowardice, dishonesty and selfishness, he deserves all he gets.

I hope and expect we will see some brilliant jibes at Brown, high-lighting his disastrous run of unelected ineptitude, near the end of the campaign.

        • 296
          Steve Expat says:

Agreed with the small appetite for negative campaigning.

I would expect from the Tories a whole load of positive messages like we had today, but quite probably a couple of posters of Gordon gurning alongside a pile of gold or a graph of total govt debt increasing – towards the end of the campaign though, like in 1992 with the “Labour’s tax bombshell” adverts. This will help to convert a few floating voters near the election, but not piss off too many of the majority who want to see positivity from politicians.

Labour came out today fighting in the Brown and Balls way, with the negative – are they really going to keep this going for four months? Do Brown and Balls know how to campaign positively, now that the comparitive moderates in Darling and Mandlebum seem to have been marginalised? Darling looked today as he did with the PBR, just saying what he was told to say. The contrast with Cameron could not have been more obvious.

This is the ‘Vision Going Forward’ and verily shall it come to pass.

‘David Nicey’ wins the greatest number of seats in the election but not an overall majority. McDoom promises Vince he can be financial advisor to the Liebore Party for life, whereupon the Lib Dems join with Liebore in a coalition of the Incompetent and Inept. Dave adds another windmill to his bike.

The BBC explain that ‘Nicey’ did not get sufficient seats because he wasn’t nice enough. The Conservative Party is ungruntled that although ‘Nicey’ tried to be nice he has led them nowhere. They dumpeth Dave and elect Barmy Boris as leader.

The pound slumps as the Bank of England Money Presses overheat, and the Coalition of the Incompetents are unable to sell more gilts to raise more debt. All hell breaks loose. Thousands of BBC executives inflation proof their salaries by pegging them to the Zimbabwean dollar.

Nurses, Police and Teachers go on strike for 100% pensions at 30, and BBC / Bankers bonuses twice yearly. There is a run on wheelbarrows for transporting money to the checkouts, and Tesco’s introduce a special lane for weighing cash. The Lib-Lab Alliance eventually collapses under Debt and general mayhem.

Another general election is called. Barmy Boris wins by a landslide. The new Conservative Government sorts out the mess and is abused by the BBC as having been a nasty Party all along. Tens of thousands of BBC Directors emigrate to Zimbabwe.

We enjoy about 10 years of decent rule until the voters decide they would like a nicer government of guitar playing regular guys in direct touch with the Almighty, and the cycle starts again.

    Thus sayeth Olde Moore.

But I can’t anymore, because my wrists are fucked…

    Stop Fucking about says:

“We can’t go on like this. I’ll cut the deficit, not the NHS.”

Irrelevant. I thought the Camerons had courage.

    TIME FOR REAL CHANGE

Time for us to screw the screwers.

    Nationalise all banks.
    Stop printing money.
All industries of all sizes (not shops) given loans at current bank rate.
Brown & Blair banished from GB no pay no security.
MP’s no longer paid or get expenses unless running a department.
Quangos run as government dept or scrapped.
Councils scrapped. Functions replaced by government departments.
    Scrap the House of Lords.
Hospitals run by doctors & nurses.
Same philosophy for schools, universities etc.
All civil service pensions paid at same rate as old age pension.
Get out of all overseas military adventures. We can’t afford them or the lives of our young soldiers.
Tell BOB, thanks but no thanks, if he wants to police the world, let him.
If it’s British fight like fuck for it otherwise get the fuck out.
Ban any organisation and deport everyone that will not swear allegiance to Great Britain & the Crown.
Close the borders re immigration for ten years. No exceptions
Give the Euro Scam one years notice.
Ban Global Warming /Climate Change debate until GB well into the black financially.
All people on benefits report for duty to sweep roads, clean sewers etc, every day.
Put a Chinese gentleman in charge of the justice dept.
Oh yes, and the BBC license fee is reduced to £10 (or better still scrapped).

      Raving Loon says:

      “Nationalise all banks”

      Only in Soviet Russia

      “Stop printing money”

Not all of it hopefully but I agree, no more Zimbabwean monetray policies.

“All industries of all sizes (not shops) given loans at current bank rate.”

Diverting production is a bad idea. Loans have been too cheap for too long, hence our problems at the moment with the whole credit bubble and all.

“Brown & Blair banished from GB no pay no security.”

      Fair enough

“MP’s no longer paid or get expenses unless running a department.”

And cut their number by 30-40% while you’re at it.

“Quangos run as government dept or scrapped”

      Just scrapped please.

“Councils scrapped. Functions replaced by government departments”

Governments and councils scrapped. Functions replaced by private/voluntary sector.

      “Scrap the House of Lords”

Need a 2nd house as a check and balance on the 1st. The method of their election should be different as well. Ideally the Lords should be a simple plebicite and possibly for longer terms but easily removable if necessary.

“Hospitals run by doctors & nurses”

Hospitals run for the benefit of their paying customers.

“Same philosophy for schools, universities etc”

      Same again.

“All civil service pensions paid at same rate as old age pension”

75% of civil service cut. Replaced with nothing.

“Get out of all overseas military adventures. We can’t afford them or the lives of our young soldiers”

      Yep

“Tell BOB, thanks but no thanks, if he wants to police the world, let him”

      Yep

“If it’s British fight like fuck for it otherwise get the fuck out”

      Yep

“Ban any organisation and deport everyone that will not swear allegiance to Great Britain & the Crown”

Support whoever you like (provided its not treasonous), but no benefits for the mad mullahs.

“Close the borders re immigration for ten years. No exception”

Welfare is the real problem. Abolish that and the immigration problem will end quickly.

“Give the Euro Scam one years notice.”

I was going to say an afternoon’s notice, but fair enough.

“Ban Global Warming /Climate Change debate until GB well into the black financially.”

Debate all you like, just don’t believe the hype.

“Put a Chinese gentleman in charge of the justice dept”

      LOL

“Oh yes, and the BBC license fee is reduced to £10 (or better still scrapped).”

      Just scrapped please.

There’s plenty of hard working foreigners in this country that pay their taxes, they are welcome. It’s the lazy benefit scrounging twats that refuse to be part of our society that can fuck right off. The one good thing about Liebour was they made it possible for my partner to live in this country and work a proper job without being made to feel like a criminal.

    Down with Brown! says:

Great start to the day for the Tories: the giant poster, the launch of the NHS draft manifesto, the launch of Kerry out campaign, pictures of Tories campaiging in target seats, the swift rebuttal of Darling’s dodgy dossier. Ed Balls’ attempt to seize the agenda on education failed, again. Darling was forced to admit that he can’t rule out raising VAT if somehow Labour are re-elected. Most importantly, there is still general bemusement at Brown’s poor performance on Marr yesterday. How many sane people really want five more years of Gordon in number 10?

Labour fought back late in the day aided by the Lib Dems showing their true pro-Labour colours by asserting there was a Troy black hole and Cameron’s clanger on marriage and taxation.

Overall: The Tories day certainly but Cameron needs to avoid gaffes again in interviews. Too many and floating voters might start wondering if he is so different from Brown.
