I can think of a ton of problems with this -- quite apart from anything else, if the allowance for a family is simply total emission / uk population X members in family... then there's ANOTHER incentive to have lots of kids.

Then there's the issue of CO2 emissions by the public sector. You'll have to pay council tax in carbon emissions AND pounds. Otherwise the bin lorries won't be able to run. Sainsburies is going to have to price everything in pounds and emissions...

And then there'll be emissions income tax. And emissions income tax offsets. People will be need to be paid carbon offsets by companies who need them to (say) commute long distances.

It's going to be like adding a whole new currency, with all the complications that entails....

Yes, because paying more tax is bound to reduce emissions isn't it? What a f*cking simpleton.

I hate Brown and Labour more than I ever dreamed possible. I wish them all slow painful deaths. Particularly for Brown and Blair.

Prime (well used to be) water's edge property and land. Beautiful; supermarket trollies excepted. Actually much of it restored in recent years courtesy of HM taxpayers etc. I think you can discount the flooding bit long term because by then we will have saved the world and you will in any case be able to purchase a "Gore Global Catastrophe Remedy" involving vouchers or something and everything will be fine. Roll up, roll up.

How much will the UK have to pay in interest on the mountain of bonds it has issued (to pay extortionate amounts to all the foreign PFI criminals, and to all the worthless thieving trash in the public sector awarding themselves massive bonuses and massive pensions)?

Nu Liebore gave away £31 billion of taxpayers money last year, in interest. So this year it must be close to £40 billion (even excluding the interest it does not have to pay on bonds it has bought from itself, by printing money like dirty back-street counterfeiters).

The defence budget for 2009 was £42.0 billion, but over £10 billion of that has been thieved by the parasitic criminals in the MoD, and by privatising parts of the armed forces for profit (e.g. the privatised military academy for St Athan that will give £millions to corrupt American filth in profits at the expense of the military). This in fact means that Nu Liebore are now spending more taxpayers money on debt interest, than defence.

Why the hell didn't the evil loony bastard, Gordon (shit) Brown, pay off some of Britain's debt during the boom? It's galling that Norway has $500+ billion invested from North Sea Oil and gas -- Whereas the filth in parliament in Britain (both Nu Liebore and Tory shit) just gave all the money to the rich and to thieving grabbing American scum. Disgraceful!

The stinking corruption of Nu Liebore is staggering. They have destroyed and thieved just about everything. Britain is finished.

I'm going to safeguard my family against this. We're going to sell our house and put the proceeds into a trust fund for our young son. My wife is going to give up her well paid job on stress grounds and claim that she is now unable to work. I'm going to say that I have a bad back and cannot do any work. We'll choose a nice detached house from a private landlord and submit the monthly rent to the Benefits Agency and live happily ever after on benefits and Disability Allowance.

And why not, half the country does it so why can't we!
