Terrifying prospect, but you could be right. I was talking to the missus about it last night – problem is, where to go? Where to go that will let us in, and where to go where the bombed pound will sustain us.

But *if* he does win again, that is fucking it. The pound will be worth half a euro in a month. Keeeeeeeeeerist.

          • Mrs. Dale's latest hissy fit says:

Australia? New Zealand? Spain? Change your currency now

          • “Australia? New Zealand? Spain? ”

The first two won’t have me as I’m too old and don’t have the right qualifications. Who knew philosophy wouldn’t serve me well? And Spain is all foreign. I want somewhere the kids will feel at home.

          • Old Nick Heavenly(real dimwit) says:

Frank, I know it sounds desperate, but when The Holy Roman Empire becomes unbearable I think Africa could look very attractive.

            The less ‘civilisation’ the better.

            Liberia perhaps.

As for your pounds I would convert them to Euros or gold now!

          • Mrs. Dale's latest hissy fit says:

          • Old Nick Heavenly(real dimwit) says:

As an unreconstucted hippy who has travelled extensively with 3 young children I KNOW that as long as you love them and are Honest to them they can handle anything calmly!

A pretty shocking short video really. Notice how once the bereaved father points out that Gordon didn’t supply the helicopters needed the BBC presented took it upon herself to change the subject and then claim that his intentions were at least “sincere”. Do they have daily prep sessions with Lord Mandelson? W”ould they ever behave like that if it was a Tory government. We’ve got months more of this to look forward to.

MP’s flat-screen 50″ TVs, benefits for illegal immigrants, printed billions to bail out bankers, billions given to the EU, property speculation by MPs, diversity coordination officers, Jacqui Smith’s husband’s wages…. All these things were funded (over-funded) by Brown’s government. He could have used the money to buy the helicopters needed. Gordon, you’re a twat, the worst PM in history.

          • DMZ says:

Perhaps Brown with his PhD in politics/historyshould read about the Vietnam War – the war was lost because of lack of support in the USA and flaky allies coupled with a corrupt government in Saigon(I think the policy was called Vietnamisation” now where have we heard that phrase or something similar)

If he was full of compassion you would see him or one of the Cabinet standing on the tarmac at RAF Lyneham every occassion that the bodies of those killed are repatriated to acknowledge on behalf of the nation the sacrifice made. Of course none of the ******* s have been seen within 50 miles of there or Wooton Bassett and I dare to suggest that had it not been for the government having lost the battle for hearts and minds in the UK and the fact that there is an election within the next 6 months where the Afghan War will figure hugely that you would even hear much about Afghanistan. In addition had it not been for a “few old soldiers” standing by the roadside in Wooton Bassett in silent tribute(which incidentally the BBC studiously avoided mentioning for almost 6 months)our lads(and lasses) would have been unloaded in the dead of night as a mere inconvenience to this disgraceful government !!!

How is this supposed to reflect badly on Brown.

It reflects badly on the government he “leads”.

But then governing is clearly the last thing on their minds – all they aim to do, each and every day they come in to work, is fuck things up for the next administration.

I bet they sit there at their desks, feet up, nose picking, wondering what aspects of the country htey have left standing, and then concieve a plan to fuck it all up.

The last Conservative Government may have had an incompetent leader, but he was a solid, decent guy, unlike Cyclops!

Brown was a reckless Chancellor who sold off our gold on the cheap, ramped up Government borrowing during the years of growth and kept our armed services short of equipment, even as Bliar was using them all round the globe as part of his mania for “liberal interventionism”.

Previously we were told by Brown’s PR people that Brown often sends out his own letters; he writes, franks/stamps, and puts them in the postbox himself.

That was their excuse for the previous fuck-up; that it was never checked by any of his aides because he did it all himself.

This time, now that it’s 2 years late, it’s suddenly his aide’s fault and they say that Brown didn’t deal with it himself like he did the last one.

Methinks that’s a bit inconsistent and smacks of just lying about the situation to put the best spin on whatever fuck-up comes along.

I reckon he wrote/stamped/franked it himself, and then accidentally put it in his drawer and forgot about it; my guess is that his aides have nothing to do with this at all, and it was just that Brown did it himself and somehow lost the letter and then stumbled upon it in his desk 2 years later.

Good points Eileen – I was watching Newsnight last night with my teenage daughter when there was a picture of some ‘Taliban’ hanging around an ordinary looking estate car with some rocket launchers, no body armour and just the local headgear/turban hat.

I remarked to my daughter that supposedly 19 hijackers broke through all the monitoring systems of the “world’s policeman” on 911 with an annual spend on defence of $billions and along with other supposedly ‘civilised’ countries have huge defence budgets and STILL all these troops combined cannot defeat what is portrayed as a raggle-taggle militia…who were not even linked with 911 prior to the script being changed.

I have never been and never will be ‘taken in’ by the lies of this ongoing occupation of Afghanistan.

It seems to be principally about poppies and pipelines and ‘they’ don’t mind how many of our bravest and best die so long as the bullets keep flying and hence budgets keep being increased. Every bullet shot is another one manufactured….surely we’re ‘enlightened’ enough to know this is just WRONG.

War is, indeed, a racket and a deadly one at that.

At present when somebody joins the armed forces they know full well that they might have to kill and also be killed. They have volunteered for this not forced to join by conscription; so it’s no good blaming Brown or anybody else unless Brown was directly responsible by not supplying adequate kit etc. The responsibility of being killed in all other events in the theatre of war rests with the commanding officers, team support, personal responsibilty and of course the most important factor – the enemy!

At present there is only one sure way of avoiding being killed or injured in a war – don’t join up and volunteer to kill others!

Police forces in England and Wales have been told to make annual savings of more than £500m by 2014. Senior officers have warned against plans to save £70m by cutting “vital” overtime. Ministers insist front-line policing will not be affected.

Mann had issued a correction for upside-down Tiljander in his last paper, went on to correct this in his following paper and has now issued another paper with the same mistake!

All this with dodgy made up data. I wonder, do climate scientists actually get out and do any experiments, other than wank their crappy computer models?

The fault does not lie entirely with these people though. Science’s “peer-review process” enabled these and other errors to go unnoticed by no fewer than nine authors but was spotted by an independent scientist within minutes of publication. What these people have done cannot be described as science in any way but rather manipulation: they think it is perfectly acceptable to tweak data up & down to hide certain warm periods (eg medieval) and to exaggerate others.

It seems he always tries to do his best and means well. Sadly for the rest of us Brown’s only got until next June to actually get something right; and the evidence suggests he’s so sodding useless that that’s not nearly long enough.

I would take the piss normaly on most subjects on this site ,but I have nothing but un printable anger for New Labour and all its supports of this nonsense war in Iraq and Afganistan.

Under equipped and forgot British troops doing their very best for Blair and Brown, but end up killed or scared for ever.

Thousands of murdered civilians in both these countries for what? to replace one tin pot crooked goverment with a new one!

Just look at the history books BLAIR AND BROWN no one from the west has ever solved the problems in these countries with violence its time to talk or PISS OFF and let people decided so we can stop any more spilt blood!

The first one of these fraudsters interviewed under oath will crack and spill their guts.

They have been doing the bidding of others, the trouble is that although the people behind AGW are nasty, viscious, power and money mad egoists, they relied totally on scientists, who now are compromised and shitting bricks.

One little shove and the whole lot will be yapping and blaming others for the failed money grabbing plot.

Mann is the first, many will follow.
