New Aussie Opposition Leader Defeats Climate Tax
Tony Abbott ousted Malcolm Turnball as leader of the opposition Liberals after he tried to foist an emissions trading scheme on the party which would have cost billions in new taxes. Straight away Abbott has defeated Rudd’s Labour government on a crucial pre-Copenhagen vote. Abbott rightly claims he has “delivered a big win for the people of Australia who have been saved from a massive new tax that would have been foisted upon them without proper scrutiny”.
The Cameroons are very out of touch with the Tory grassroots on this issue. There is widespread contempt for Zac Goldsmith and there is an abiding suspicion that the whole Vote Blue, Go Green agenda is a cover for tax hikes. Whereas most Conservatives support measures for a cleaner environment, recycling, even organic farming and such like, the whole Copenhagen carbon taxing and subsidising policy agenda is seen as absolute hogwash.
The Tories have dropped back at the polls following the Lisbon Treaty shambles which dismayed eurosceptic supporters. The majority of activists and supporters do not want to see their cars being used as cash cows for taxation and they don’t want their annual summer holidays to be ever-more regressively taxed. New green taxes are extremely unpopular with the grassroots and supporters. Dave needs to remember that not all Tories are as rich as Zac Goldsmith…

Climate Taxes are the new Stealth Tax
The only difference is that with THIS Stealth Tax we will make you feel scared and guilty !
climate change=The Emperor’s New Clothes=green taxes
zac goldsmith. born and raised in England.
hides his money offshore.
wants to stand as an MP despite avoiding making his full contributions to the public purse by hiding money and assets offshore. zac wants power but does not want to contribute to the infrastructure that provides that power. public service is not a buffet where one picks and chooses or one decides they do not want to pay tax because they think there is waste in the system for if we all took zac’s attitude then the country would be on its knees in a week.
another tory tax offender is ofcourse lord ashcroft.
he too hides his money offshore.
he promised to pay British tax if he was made a lord.
he was made a lord but he has failed to honour his side of the agreement.
his word is worth nought. and yet he runs the tory election campaign and not only that but his companies offshore companies are involved in the administration of funds being funnelled to the marginals’ campaign.
God only knows where these tory contributions channelled through aschroft’s corproration actually come from originally.
as ashcroft has not honoured his agreement to bring his interests under British tax jurisdiction there is no way to verify if or not the contributions through these companies can be audited and whether they should considered to be legal and allowable or not.
nothing to hide nothing to fear.
innit aschcroft you slippery snake.
Quite agree. We need people like Zac in Parliament like we need a hole in the ozone layer.
Agreed. Goldsmith is a Junior Ashcroft. Power without the contribution.
If Goldsmith gets elected through the vagaries of the PPC, then Cameron has endorsed a new style of Corruption in the House. Different, but just as nasty.
BTW Goldsmith, your friends think you are really creepy, really.
I understand TAT’s comments on Zac and Lord Ashcroft, but we should think for a minute why they choose to keep their funds offshore.
Taxes in the UK are designed to cause wealthy and successful people to quit the country.
If we had a system which encouraged the wealthy to settle here, we would have much greater access to capital and entrepreneurial talent.
By the way, I don’t subscribe to the global warming dogma, but I think excessive taxation leads ultimately to loss of liberty and in a global economy we should be encouraging successful people to stay here, not buzz off.
Bit long, tat, but pretty much on the money. Ashcroft and Goldsmith became tax exiles at a time when an entrepreneur could pay 10% tax after taper relief if he made money starting a business, so they have no excuse. You could say: no representation without taxation.
Godfrey Bloom was the organiser for this conference:
http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/143573
And he’s been pretty robust in his view:
Dismal Dave is courting the hugely influential green vote.
In the last GE, this huge political movement polled less than 260,000 votes, nationwide.
Yet, true to form, Dismal Dave ignores potential UKIP voters, you know, that party that came second in the EU election with 2.5+ million votes.
Says everything you need to know about Dismal Dave and his socialist inspired “red toryism”.
Cameron’s promotion of ZC tells one everything one needs to know about the present day so-called Tories! The Tory blogosphere is orf to UKIP and others in droves.
I’m inclined to think that the green vote won’t be that influential when (or if) punters discover the extent to which they will be clobbered financially by any of the parties who go with this stuff.
What really pisses me off is that once upon a time “green” things like make do and mend, don’t waste food and the rest of it all went towards a lifestyle which made for some (perhaps not enormous) savings in £s annual personal outgoings. Now every thing suggested by stinking rich kids like Goldsmith and Cameron, the overpaid and subsidised politicians of all parties and golden green baronets like Porritt is an additional financial burden on the public.
I’m sure that the £8 billion cost to all of us of “intelligent” meters that only serve to gauge and show the level of fuel company rip-offs will also be just what we want.
Talking of Aussies:
The BBC had a talking head that assured us we would save £20/year because of the way these meters would show us the error of our ways.
Divide £8bn by 20M housholds, and you have an installation cost of £400 per household (it seems a bit cheap for changing two meters, but what do I know….?)
I can do the simpler sums though. Paying £400 to save £20/year is going to take 20 years to pay for itself – longer than I expect to live to recover the money.
He he – I asked my plumber friend the other day how business was in the recession. Great he said. Loads of people swopping their gas boilers over to the new energy efficient ones, never mind that there is nothing wrong with their current one. Even pointing out the stark economics of changing over, which will take at least 10 years to recoup their money and that new boilers are not as well made and will probably need replacing again after 10 years anyway.
But he said he was pleased to take their money despite telling them the facts!
I guess it makes the punter feel righteous:-)
“Hugely influential green vote”
Got any evidence of that? Proper evidence as opposed to a few articles in the Guardian where they have scored out “pink” or “grey” and crayoned in “green”.
I’m not a betting man but I’d risk a bob or two wagering that organisations are courting a demographic which doesn’t really exist.
I was being sarcastic, the green vote in this country is virtually non existent. Largely because most people can see the red beneath the green.
Except for dismal D, that is. To him, it makes perfect sense to court the semi commie greens because they are more representative of his vision of toryism / Bliarism, than the dissaffected tories within UKIP.
He is Bliar mk2, different colour rosette, same old shit.
On smart meters.
I bought a clip on one from Tesco for £30.00.
Installed it in 2 minutes. It works fine. Tells me at any moment how much electricity is being used.
So why £400.00? Why is the state throwing away so much money?
If people want smart meters, let them to go to Tesco, Maplin, or wherever, and buy the bloody things themselves.
“Why is the state throwing away so much money?”
I don’t know, but it’s absolutely nothing to do with Lord Truscott amending the energy bill whilst being employed as a £2,000-a-day consultant to one of the world’s largest manufacturers of smart meters.
Really.
Just a coincidence.
Got it?
The difference between us and the Aussies is that they have an effective opposition.
Australia with an effective opposiiton…? Sorry, No we don’t…. You don’t know how pish poor this Abbott is. He is a religous zealot out of the middle US evangelical mold and only has traction on this one issue. When he starts on about women’s rights etc you’ll see what sort of an opposition we’ve really got. He makes GB look like a charismatic genius! Observers of the antipodes take note too…. Kevin Rudd is an Oz equivalent to Tony B-liar, all spin and no substance either, so we really are f——d!
That’s the trouble, OB, Rudd, they used TBliar as the mould! Ha, he is rotten though, eh.
That’s not even proximate to the truth.
The problem is that politicians of all parties have lied, spun and distorted the truth too many times for us to believe anything they say ever again.
They’ve done this in their own interest, in the interest of their party and in the interest of their party’s backers – the unions, rich business friends, green hippies, whatever.
The problem is now, the blogosphere exposes this for what it is – a bandwagon. Before, we were force fed our opinions by the MSM – now we have immediately accessible alternatives available to us thanks to the internet.
If politicians really felt this was the global crisis they say it is, they’d take politics and tax out of the issue. By wrapping the whole lot up together, they’re reaping a backlash that is entirely of their own making.
I DO believe there is some sort of climate change happening. I DON’T believe that it’s (entirely) man-made – but I DO think that the level of public scepticism is so great as to make this an election-losing issue.
Serves the fuckers right. Try being honest with us for a change.
The estimated cost of Copenhagen Climate Change measures estimated at $3TRILLION US .
The measured overhang in the Global Financial Market, er $3 TRILLION US.
Join up the dots…………………………..
Tax to make up a shortfall, and the West will get clobbered again.
Zac Goldsmith & Dave Cameron are everything that is worng with the modern Conservative party.
DC is more of a third way social(ist) demoprat than Blair.
Vote independent.
Is it because they are like clotted cream?
What, thick and yellow?
Rich, thick and yellow.
It’s becoming increasingly clear that Blair really should have been a Tory, but saw an opportunity in the Labour party. Cameron really belongs in the Labour party but sees an opportunity in the Tory party.
Quite they both headed for the next party expected to be in power. Though I think Dave is more of a Liberal than a Socialist but there is no doubt that he is NOT a Conservative.
Bliar and Dismal Dave, both believe in “third way” corporatist fascism.
Both run party machines stuffed to the gills with Common Purpose graduates too!
It’s the treasonous third way and third sector that is running this country for the benefit of the Marxist fascist new world order.
Guido – any chance of finding out exactly WHO, in all parties standing for election next year as well as in the House at present, have been on these Common Purpose Brainwashing seminars?
It would make an interesting list, and might explain an awful lot.
Quite, Cameron is an old style Whig, not a Socialist, He’s paternalist rather than egalitarian. Blair’s parents were Tory activists iirc.
This whole Bilderberg / Common Purpose stuff is really worrying – I used to think it was just paranoid conspiracy-theorising, but the evidence is growing monthly.
“wrong”, of course.
Apologies.
Call-Me-Dave is fannying around and talking about all sorts of inconsequential crap at the moment.
Will he ever tackle the big issues, or will he just sit there talking about what interests Keith and Sharon in the key marginals…………..?
If he can’t even monopolize with Brown being an utter mentalist one has to wonder about the validity of polling data. I may vote Labour just for a laugh as there’s not much point in voting Tory.
Post Lisbon it will become increasingly evident that whoever you vote for nationally. It will not change or effect the imposition of laws you are forced to obey.
The real government of the UK is in a foreign country, Westminster is a rather large regional assembly, impementing laws it is ordered to, by another place.
It matters not a jot if CMD or McDoom are collecting the fares, they will both be doing what they are told to do, nothing more.
You mean now, as we are post Lisbon already. It came into force yesterday!
And it’s imo no coincidence that Angela Merkel, the driving force (with Sarkozy, over the last few years, to impose Lisbon) grew up in Stalinist East Germany. Even Sarkozy is an Eastern European name!
God help us all, democracy died last night
Man made climate change.
What a load of old tosh.
Someone should tell the politicans that the cat is out of the bag – the people know its a scam.
Will “call me Dave” actually do the right thing & expose it, or will he just carry on on his quest to be the tax & tax & tax heir to Blair?
I was going to vote for him, now – UKIP for me.
I’m not a fan of Gordon Brown….
UKIP – the here today, gone tomorrow party, depending on whether the Honest Dave pantomime does another Dick Whittington turn on an EU referendum?
Anybody got the faintest idea on what the kippers’ stance is on this climate claptrap; or do the membership and the leadership squabble over that, too?
There is a real alternative but you can’t say anything nice about it, or even give it its proper title, on here.
Funny, that.
As far as I know, UKIP are climate realists. They do not believe the alarmist bullshit! I stand to be corrected however, by anyone who can show evidence that they support the AGW con!
Called the Kuklux Klan, isn’t it, albacore? Come on, don’t be coy, we know you want to cut me in four and send a quarter back to each of the three other countries my grandparents came from.
My, my, mongrel, are you a masochist or just a sucker of UAF and Searchlight bollocks?
The only party worth voting for is not the “Kuklux Klan”, whatever that is.
The B:N:P’s the one for me. Can’t give its proper name here because that gets automatically modded.
You know, something like censorship but clearly not that on a freedom of speech beacon of a blog like this.
Bneeppepe are national socialists. Read their manifesto it is all there. Socialist shite with a race hate mentality – hmmm, worked for Adolph for a while didn’t it.
Sadly, it is UKIP for me too! They are an appalling bunch of fuckwits for the most part, but I cannot discover any other way to vote against Rompuy and against socialism with a single vote!
A vote for labour is a vote for Rompuy.
A vote for conservative is a vote for Rompuy.
A vote for Liberals is a big vote for Rompuy.
A vote for the B&P is a vote for socialist nationalism.
Hello UKIP. This is what all the corrupt, lying bastards in the mainstream have reduced democracy to.
Lord Pearson. Another with his nose buried so deep in the trough,it’s a miracle he can breathe.
A hammer is needed to crack the parliamentary nut,not a wet sock.
Idiot, get your facts right.
Pearson has claimed on average, total expenses and allowances of roughly £20,000 per year.
A pitifully small amount when there are peers troughing £150,000+ per year.
Very well put Mr Ned, that’s the dilemma in a nutshell!
Added that they are indeed also – unlike the EU and all major parties here – Climate Realists, and there is really no other choice now
I’m with you Mr Ned – but what about the Greens – they are getting their act together…, they have always been against the EU, they love recycling and eco bulbs etc – imagine the money we would save if we let them loose on the wastful bastards in the NHS, MOD, Civil Service etc
These fucking parasites never stop thinking up ways to screw us over. Any old scam will do; this is simply the latest. I’m sick of being conned, fleeced, done-over, mugged, shat-upon, robbed, stuffed, shafted and exploited for the benefit of these thieving, conniving, troughing scumbags. They won’t stop until every penny we come by ends up in their back pockets. Fucking Tories? Fucking Labour? Fucking LibDem? No difference between the fucking lot of them. Parasitic filth, that’s what they are.
Well said!
97 – CIQ: just wait til something really upsets him!
Anyone get the feeling that Dave “The Cast-iron Guarantee” Cameron has woken up to the mess he will inherit and has realized he’s not up to it?
A hung parliament with NuLabor & LibDems in charge would probably suit him, he could still be Mr. Nice Guy, whilst pretending he’s the man to sort it all out.
NuLabor = NuCon
Not all Tories are as rich as Zac – most of them aren’t nearly as stupid as him either.
Absolutely. Socialists totally miss the point here, because they fail to see that most people of inherited wealth aren’t up to keeping it in a genuine free market economy. Rich kids rarely match the abilities of the parent who made the fortune. So here’s what the AGW ploy of the New World Order is really about – consolidating the wealthy and their offspring so they cannot be challenged and will forever keep hold of their fortunes while the rest of us are forced into the dirt.
When a proven arsehole tells you that one is deluded because one will not believe their very weak argument one ca
Cameron is a light weight, too bothered what posh “Green” women and “really bright” people have to say
Don’t worry about me then, as I quietly stick my X next to UKIP on the ballot paper.
I know where to stick mine !
I see the BlueBlog is deleting comment questioning Cameron’s policy.
The Conservatives have fucked up royally this last month. They’ve been found wanting.
Incredibly they are well on their way to blowing the easiest election victory chance they’ll ever have.
You know, sometimes that can work out on so much better at a personal level.
Then the Peter Hitchens scenario might kick in, with a demoralised Tory party at last having the courage to become a genuine right wing party, which we don’t have.
Dave has been wanking so much he is turning Purple
Having read some of the leaked emails myself, if I had been a supporter of global warming (climate change) then I would now be scared and wetting myself that I had been completely fooled and used like a tool.
Sure the planet Earth has a climate and it changes. It always has and always well. Sun Spots are more likely to cause it to fluctuate than levels of CO2. BTW CO2 occurs naturally regardless of whether or not humans are on Earth or not.
ref:
Here is the web site to search the leaked CRU emails.
Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia.
http://www.eastangliaemails.com/
Read them for yourself.
Too late to stop the bandwagon now though. They’ve all climbed aboard. If government, greens and socialists have their way, the bandwagons next stop is the middle ages.
Oh,I forgot, they were complaining even then about burning peat and limestone.
Actually, to reduce CO2 emissions by 80%, we need to travel past the dark ages all the way back to the fucking stone age.
No more cars, busses, trains, aircraft, domestic heating, TVs, x boxes, playstations, computers, internet, washing machines, tumble dryers, fridges, freezers.
Unless an alternative fuel system is found, and quick, we are heading for a massive, un-necessary and Mann-made catastrophe.
That’s impossible, it’s never been as low as it is now, plus we’re in one of the coldest periods in the last 600 million years of the Earth’s history.
See for yourself.

Brown should be floored at PMQs not left hanging onto the ropes. An opposition leader who wants power should be doing more to finish off this apology of a government.
Agreed – he should be tearing his ‘facts’ apart with blistering wit and reel off facts – Mrs. Thatcher could tear the tissue off Kinnock with efficient ease on almost any occasion and made him seem a total buffoon. Cameron should be trying to rouse the anger of people, not ignoring it; get an EU freferendum, question all global-warming ‘facts’ and kick some ass!!
The Tories lost 11 votes in our workplace alone over this Global Warming and Lisbon shit – UKIP here we come….
Gordon Brown must love you.
There is no difference between what Rompuy will allow Cameron to do and what Rompuy will allow Brown to do. So what’s the fucking difference?
Welcome to UKIP, Billy the kid!
If you’ve got any influence with UKIP can you tell them to do something about their website, it is painful to look at.
If these little pricks want to introduce a carbon tax then put it on imports from the worst polluting countries like China, India, and various other Far Eastern child exploiting polluters. This import carbon tax could then be used as GRANTS to British industry to become even leaner and cleaner. Don’t these arseaches realise that taxing our companies will finally kill all the industry that we have left.
The whole climate change lobby are tossers who just want to increase stealth taxes and who have already invested in alternative power sources.
The reason Zac has a phobia about wearing a tie is that he knows he would be strung up.
“Don’t these arseaches realise that taxing our companies will finally kill all the industry that we have left.”
The hard core extremists within the AGW scam fervently want industry to collapse, they all loathe capitalism with a passion.
The politicians imagine that people will buy into paying lots more tax to “save the planet” from the CO2 hoax and they can declare “carbon victory” at some stage in the future if things get a little dicey for the political classes.
The bankers who control and run the whole scam, see trillions of £$€ in carbon trading rights.
The little people who will lose out in all this, the poor, the elderly, the weak, the vulnerable and the middle classes, frankly do not matter at all as far as any of them are concerned.
The whole agenda is being driven (and at governmental level) by those who stand to gain enormously by the ‘carbon trading’ scam. It takes a lotof research to find the truth, but it can be done, and people are now getting to the right urls via sites like this – google is shamefully part of the scam (via its investments or so I have read), and even when you have happened on a good site before which explains what’s going on, it can become very hard to find it again via google – so SAVE YOUR RESEARCH
People standing to profit from the whole scam include Al Gore, who has many business interests in carbon trading, Jeremy Grantham who has set up much of the dodgy research into climate change, and here in the UK, Grantham’s appointee Lord Stern, via his IdeaGlobal, and its offshoot IdeaCarbon
Prior to his current interests, Stern helped to wreck the UK economy in his role as economic advisor to the Prime mentalist
As ever, it’s the poor, the disabled and the old who suffer most, the two former groups as they find it hard ot build up pporperty, savings and pensions
Well, Campbell is back and even Guido is falling under his charms…..
More likely Cameron is falling under Campbell’s charm – he seems to be in a deep trance and reaching for the self-destruct button.
As I have said the Tories are looking more and more like New Labour Mk2.
They are dripping wet.
Get back to your turnip patch you bumpkin!
I used to rail at the “they’re all the same” punditry, now I’m one of them. This whole climate scam is about taxing the air we breathe. Air that would be a lot fresher without the halitosi of politicians’ witterings.
Welcome to the real world. It sucks here, but at least we are gaining numbers at an almost exponential rate now!
A BIG aye! on this one Guido.
PR Cameron, and boy wonder Osbourn will need to listen more and act accordingly.
People are wise to be cautious about this pair of inexperienced and unproven windbags.
taxpayers may be” fed up with Nu labor but they don’t need boy scout career politicians from any party tinkering with taxes on a future promise, and buggering up their children’s future in the meantime.
We have heard it all before and the answer is no thanks think again!
“taxpayers may be” fed up with Nu labor”
no we are not “fed up” with Nu labour.
WE FUCKING HATE, LOATHE AND DETEST EVERY ATOM OF THEIR EXISTENCE WITH A BURNING PASSION!!!
One of these days people will realise that Dave is going to win because of Brown, not because he himself is actually any good.
I for one will be voting UKIP. Not because I expect them to win of course, but I don’t want Cameron to have a ’97 style majority.
Cameron is most definitely Blair mk2. The problem is, because Labour won 3 elections, the Tories think they need to copy the Labour model. What they fail to grasp is that people have seen through the spin and lies and don’t want another lying warmonger.
Only in a world f*cked up by Labour, could a lightweight like Cameron romp to victory. Damned if we do, and damned if we don’t.
Try again:
When idiots tell me that I am a fool then I know I am on the right track.
Strern’s insults prove their lies. I have believed in Global Warming; not believed, believed, not believed.
Thanks to Stern it is now totally
clear that massive hype is at work!
The Dutch want to put a GPS in every car and charge by the km; then they know where you are , where you have been!
My greenery of the last 40 years has been my grans philosophy:
Waste not, want not!
Cut your coat according to your cloth.
If you shit in your own living room it starts to stink!
The Dutch will have to get in the queue – the camera stands and some cameras for automatic number plate recognition and charging already exist and No 10 wants the revenue for per mile charging. No, wait, what am I saying – the EU is in charge so No 10 will have to do as it is told.
David Cameron Is The Neil Kinnock of his Generation though probably not even that good
He could turn out to be a Michael Foot figure.
and Gordon Brown could win a General Election BWAAAHHHAAAAAAAAAAHAAA !!!
Look Cameron is bad but no one could be as bad as Kinnock and Foot.
post in haste repent at leisure let me state i have no regard what so ever for Neil Pillock just cameroon is even worse
It’s a problem that, if Guido ever does succeed in blowing up Parliament, only a few milligrams of scientific knowledge will go with it. I lifetime of dealing with subjective, relativistic concepts doesn’t equip you to deal with clever and wily scientists.
Not when they are prepared to lie about their data
And destroy it so none can independently verify, except for tame fellow travellers, its veracity?
Some “scientist”, some “science”.
and a peer review process that is the equivalent of the Vatican asking Franciscan priests if Jesus was the son of God!
and promulgating the cult of Gaia as a replacement religion, while ring-fencing their own seats around the altars of Mammon and Moloch.
Hello everyone,
I am digging into the political career & life of Baroness Ashton – can anyone confirm to me that she has never faced an electorate nor stood in any local, regional or national election?
I cannot find any link anywhere that would confirm this womans democratic credentials?
Help!
Susanne,
Baroness Ashton has indeed never faced any electorate.
She is perfect for the EU.
Regards
Careet ploitician. Exactly what is wrong with every Minister, MP, special advisor, etc, etc, etc.
Never done a “proper” day’s work in their lives.
She was the treasurer of CND when it was allegedy recieving funding from the communists. Apart from that the has only ever worked in leftist Quangoes, the HOL courtesy of Tone Bliar and the EU. Never elected to, or for anything, in her entire life.
Time for some serious digging about CND finances, there must be some moles who have shifted some dirt.
The Poles, The Czechs, and others won’t be pleased if Ashton had been taking money from KGB fronts.
Perhaps there is a Stassi file on the bitch which needs to be brought into the public domain.
Broon is saying that Spain is still in recession now that it is part of the G20. Broon is hardly the “man” to save the country never mind the world. How many days has he left to save the world?
Are we “leading the world out of recession” from the back? Does McDoom lead from behind?
Brown lying again? Tut tut.
You can tell when he’s about to lie when he says “MMMMMMr Speaker” and his lips keep moving.
I can`t decide which I despise most about McDoom, his faux integrity, his faux jollity, his faux sincerity, his faux compassion, his faux honesty or his non existant courage.
He’s the complete package.
What you see is what you get.
So he is leading us out of recession the same way Blair lead our troops into Iraq. From miles away and based on lies!
It has been widely reported that Baroness Ashton has never faced the electorate.
Sorry to be ungallant, but that is rather good luck for the electorate.
Phnaaarrr!
fuckin pc crashed , answer to poll was bollocks
Time to upgrade that amstrad,
Dave is starting to lose it methinks…
A terrible PMQs. His team should have told him straight away that Spain was Not in the G20. In fact if he wants to be the next PM he should have these sort of facts committed to memory
Brown had a good PMQs.
The Eton barbs are striking home.
Cameron lost it on Lisbon and now he will lose it on Climate.
The perceived wisdom that the election is Labour’s to lose is wrong.
Labour will “win” if they have only a small defeat; the conservatives will “lose” if they don’t have a big majority.
The big unknown is the response of the financial markets to changing poll figures.
So the tories will lose an election by winning it?
Yup, there’s labour thinking for you!
Hope not.
I’m talking about expectations and perceptions. Everybody expects Labour to be thrashed and the Tories to have a landslide.
Brown will be considered to have done well if he manages to achieve a hung Parliament, and that will be viewed with dismay by Tories.
Lisbon was a mistake.
Central office interference in candidate selection is a mistake.
Copenhagen is going to be a huge mistake. The only wise course of action is to postpone it while the situation is openly investigated with completely free access to all the data.
It would be ludicrous for the conference to go ahead in the present circumstances, but who, apart from the Australians will have the courage to say so.
Our politicians are a bunch of eunuchs.
I’m going on holiday for a while, in fact I may not be back.
I’m just going outside and may be some time.
Notice at PMQs there was the mocking by the mob of anyone who questions if global warming is man made. Anyone who thinks otherwise and wants a serous and fair debate or merely to have their say is subject to widespread bullying.
Previously arranged.
Judging by their behaviour, Labour MPs were plied with free booze by the whips to make sure that the opposition was intimidated and unable to make its point.
Labour is fighting with the B*P for the title of National Socialist Party and seems to be winning.
Labour’s tactics are more like the blackshirts than the B*P.
The wolf is among us already, disguised with a red rosette.
Very likely. The lads going over the top in the Great War were given a tot of rum beforehand. Most people would need to be absolutely arseholed to go anywhere near the Snotgobbler, much less cheer the fucker on.
Er no Guido, you’ve got it all wrong.
All Abott has done is see the legislation defeated for a second time in the Senate. This does not kill it, far from it.
The Rudd Government has already said today it will take the legislation back to the Senate after Christmas. The Opposition is desperately divided over the ETS legislation – already Liberal Senators have said they’ll vote with the Government.
Anyway, as I’m suspecting you are not much of a student of the Australian Constitution, you don’t see that Abbott has played right in Rudd’s hands.
If the Senate rejects the legislation a third time, it gives the trigger for a double dissolution election – all seats in both houses go up to vote – where a desperately divided Opposition, led by the unpopular Abbot who many associate with the worst of the Howard years, will be savagely defeated.
The end result: the ETS willpass anyway and the Opposition will be wiped out for a decade.
The vastly amusing thing is that the deal Abbott voted to reject is almost exactly the same policy as he voted to approve in Cabinet before the 2007 election. There’s hardly any political or policy consistency there.
So apart from the fact that you’re wrong on every level of what you wrote, GOOD POST!
Now, back to calling Goldsmith a rotter and blaming Brussels and coming with funny names for the Prime Mentalist etc.
(Oh, and while I’m here, can you lot please stop saying ‘Off to Australia with me’ every Brown’s idiotic government makes another stupid mistake. The vast majority of you wouldn’t get through our points system in the first place.
Instead, stay and watch and read what good Mr Murdoch tells you to. Serfs.)
Piss off Shackle dragger.
Sorry, didn’t want to let the facts get in the way of a good yarn.
BTW – please be advised that when you come to Australia in a year to lose The Ashes 5 – 0 again, can you actually send a team of Englishmen, not the combined England/Wales/South Africa XI?
Anyway, enjoy paying off your national debt for a zillion years.
You’ll note Australia never even went into recession.
If it’s such a bloody great place to live, what the fuck are you and half a million other cork heads doing over here?
Genetically you have a strong criminal element running through your veins which means that you make ideal socialists. Murdoch is a treacherous shit who has managed to change his nationality to suit his pocket, but I still admire the old digger.
Now matey, cut along, you’ve had a busy day.
Consider us a sort of modern day Raj running your media, advising your political parties.
But fear not, I’ll be heading home next year before the real tax increases and cuts come in.
Aussie boy, it’s actually the England & Wales cricket board, it’s a combined team, just shortened to England because there’s usually only one Taff in it anyway. Hopefully Simon Jones might be fit for the next Ashes to give you a hard time like he did in 2005.
I realise its the England and Wales Cricket Board.
Not entirely sure why a third of the side ends up being born in South Africa then?
Do you think of Shane Warne when you’re wanking, or is it aboriginees. Saddo !!
“The England and Wales Cricket Board is the governing body for all cricket in England and Wales.”

We sould support british farms, organic and the mainsream.
It is better to produce at home than import crap.
Better for jobs ,uninterupted supply, and because it is good food.
Do you really want the FROGS at the ports holding us to ramsom?
Its no good having a power supply with fuck all to eat.
Sorry can’t do that. The EU CAP gestapo would stop that straight away.
Fuck the EU (-EEC
Its time we looked after ourselfs.
“Er no Guido, you’ve got it all wrong.”
Don’t help him. Much funnier to let him run with it.
Ahh no, tis the Australian way to help out our clueless British cousins in the media, be it old or new.
I’m loving the fact that when Cameron sells Rupert the BBC, the first thing Rupe will do is sack all the Oxbridge twats who run it now and bring in a bunch of Aussies who call a Hunt a Hunt.
Might even pop a job app in myself.
Pilger?
For a laugh maybe, why not?
We could have The Pilger Hour on a Sunday morning to appease the lefties on BBFox 2 before a solid afternoon of Britain’s Broken Page 3 Models DIY On Ice.
I’m spinning around, right out of my head, dee dee dee dee
I am an ex-Tory voter as of Climategate. I was sceptical (in a sensible way, having considered the evidence) of AGW, I am now more convinced that what evidence there is does not recommend the Copenhagen process; the sky is not falling anytime soon. Dave’s eco-chondria seems to be more extreme than Brown’s. Don’t get me wrong, I hate Brown, socialism and everything NuLab stands for, but I don’t see Dave having the bottle to dismantle the surveillance state or make any inroads into the bloated public sector. To all those problems, Dave intends to add eco-crap from the “raffia-mafia” of which I suspect he may be a paid up member. So, however horrible is the prospect of five more Brown years, maybe I would prefer a minority government, particularly if they are harrassed by a decent contingent of right wing independents. Also, I am quite interested in Brown’s possible offer of an Australian style alternative vote system to replace first past the post. Hence, I will be voting for either UKIP, or a good independent.
The problem with this Copenhagen thing is that they will all agree cuts in carbon emissions, then they will all go away and carry on emitting except Britain who will tax its population to the eyeballs.
So all the Taliban have to do is take an 18 month sabatical, go make some serous dosh growing poppies and then come back all refreshed an re-armed when the Yankers pull out. And they can be sure that if the Yankers pull out of THEIR country so will the rest.
A welcome first . . . Australia leading the World in global politics. How long before the worlds donkeys wake up.
Sadly the Tory party has once again become a plaything for the rich.
There are many people in this country who are philosophically conservative and are natural Conservative voters but are put off by a party now run by rich toffs who are out of touch with the needs and concerns of ordinary people.
Mrs Thatcher understood this, Cameron does not.
Where are these voters going to go? Can’t vote Labour and can’t vote Conservative.
Personally after 20 years of voting Conservative I am tempted to vote Liberal on the basis that they are the only party putting forward both a normal and a local candidate rather than some A-lister from God knows where.
Perhaps Dave Cameraman needs to reflect on the fact that not all prospective conservative voters are as, ahem, photogenic as Z. Goldsmith – and have no aspiration to be.
Dave’s Lisbon u-turn ranks alongside Brown’s election climbdown.
Both events demonstrate lack of courage, principle and integrity and frankly people are just fed up of it. Time to vote for a minority party just to teach the big 3 a lesson.
Totally agree…
Dave needs to remember, none of us have got any money fuckin’ left!
Are there any conservatives left in the Conservative party? The survival of Cameron without a leadership challenge despite his obvious disdain for conservatives makes me wonder.
The climate change apocalypse is a complete load of bollocks.
The climate has been changing since the world began.
This whole debate is being fueled by those who will gain. Companies peddling ‘green’ products and spineless, empty politicians who jump on each and every bandwagon that passes.
Cameron is completely out of touch on this issue. I am a natural Tory voter because I have a total distrust of Government and bureaucrats to improve my life.
But Cameron is wrong on this. He is also wrong not to be promoting lower taxes. He should be burying Brown and his cohort of incompetents on the economy. He should be fessing up to the public that UK plc is totally effed. That radical spending cuts are required. That it’s the private sector that creates wealth. Instead he’s shilly shallying around the issue of ‘cuts’ for ‘political’ reasons. Pathetic.
The electorate know the country is effed. Brown is in denial. He’s an idiot.
Cameron didn’t cause the mess and should be using much stronger language. I have a horrible feeling he is another middle of the road consensus Tory who doesn’t want to tread on anyones toes.
Go f**k em Dave. Brown and his ghouls are toast. Stop treating the electorate like fools. You’ve done your green bit. Wonderful. Now let’s bury the ghastly mendacious Labour lot who have completely f****d up the UK.
By the way. Ditch Zac. He’s completely unrepresentative of the UK electorate.
Re Zac: he is fighting a constituency, Richomond, which has often gone to the Liberals – THEY are the oppo there, in all their vegan sandal-wearing savve-the-whales glory, and Zac will appeal to them. It ocudl be a shrewd move on Dave’s part. He is not fighting ZanuLierbores there
So Richmond gets a vegan sandal-wearing save-the-whales loony…or the Lib Dem?
Not much of a choice.
Maybe Call-Me-Cast-Iron Dave will put up a Communist Tory in NE Glasgow, since the Socialists are the opposition there.
Just because inept governments use green policies as a cover for milking the population, doesnt mean that climate change isn’t a threat!
One day it’s sunny, the next day it rains.
One day it’s windy, the next day it’s calm.
One summer it’s hot, the next it’s not.
Climate IS change; it changes over days, it changes over seasons, it changes over years, it changes over millennia. It always will.
So tell me, when you get into your electric car, charged in between power cuts by coal fired power stations, the temperature is minus five, the battery is at minus five and has lost a lot of its capacity, and you turn on the heater and demister because it’s f–ing cold and the windscreen’s steamed up; who will you blame for the fact that you don’t get past the end of the road and you paid £30,000 for a f–ing white elephant?
I was sriving round with a freind last weekend in Berks. Her car is a Toyota hybrid – she puts in a bit of petrol and drives off to get it going … meanwhile the heat and action of the engine are charging the battery, and when it’s charged the petrol engine cuts out and the car runs on its charge. she says it’s brilliant – the desktop computer screen tells her what’s going on – and very cheap to run as it doesn;t take much petrol to get it up to charge
You don’t plug the damn thing in like a camera battery to re-charge it!
So she puts petrol in?
I shall think about your words when sunning myself and drinking pina coladas on the Costa del Lincolnshire in a few years.
That will be when I am not tending my olive groves and vineyards here in sunny Notts.
Quite! Why do people have this fixed idea that cold is better, and CO2 bad for us?
The reverse is ture
Amusingly some warmist commentators on eg Booker’s DT or DM pieces seem unable to distinguish between carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide – they also think that melting ice means floods, rather than displaced water! – so much for edyoucashun! The current educational establishment is part of the plot of course: if people are taught nothing, they can’t understand what’s being done to them
Did anyone see Al-je-Beeba’s report last night, the intro of which referred to the large percentage of people who remained unconvinced by the climate change scare?
Blimey, I thought, the Beeb are actually going to acknowledge that there are millions of people not too convinced that we are being told the entire actualite and explain that the evidence for AGW is, let’s say, somewhat ambiguous (all right, made up or non-existent).
I waited for a climate change realist to be given the chance to point out that the world had been cooling since 1998 or refer to the recent revelations of the CRU’s cover-up of “inconvenient data” but, of course, I needn’t have bothered.
The basic tone was that Governments and warmists had not done enough to communicate the seriousness of our situation to an apathetic public – not that an increasingly informed public are questioning the evidence for AGW.
Just like how the eu works its magic!
The BBC has become the propaganda arm of the National Socialist Government, and I mean Labour, not the other lot.
They have sleepwalked us into a totalitarian nightmare.
I hope they are the first to hang.
If you work for the BBC and are reading this; for the first time in your life, think what has become of freedom and democracy, of free speech and intelligent debate, and what your part has been in destroying everything that the BBC once stood for.
Strange that Al Gore the man who won a Nobel prize for his work in raising awareness of climate change is a big player in the nascent carbon trading market.
No conflict of interest there of course, Al is a decent man who is genuinley concerned for the HHHHHEEEEUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHH BLURP
Sorry about that I’ll clean it up later.
a href=”http://www.greenteethmm.com/dailystirrer.shtml#climate_science_scam_exposed”>Climate Change Science Scam
I’m becoming more convinced by the day that Dozy Dave doesn’t really want to win the next election. (Can’t really blame for that because the next PM is going to be unpopular as hell after a coupla weeks.)
Totally pathetic performance by Cameron at PMQs today – no options provided to the electorate over Afghanistan, public services, green taxation, Trident etc and he looks ridiculously nervy about cutting even IHT when he should be offering a radical alternative that means cutting taxes overall funded by reduced government spending in order to increase activity, which in turn will lead to an increase in the government’s tax take in short order. The fact that Goldsmith is still a candidate is just lamentable and easy pickings – quite rightly in this case – for Labour. This stupid man needs to take a trip to OZ and take a crash course in how to lead an Opposition from the new leader of the opposition down there.
Dozy Dave cannot shake off this image of being a Blair clone. The image of Cameron that will be forever etched in my brain is his urging his reluctant Conservative MPs to get to their feet and give the bastard Blair a standing ovation. The writing of Cameron that will always stick in my mind is the statement that every UK family can learn from the typical Asian family. Well, fuck you, Cameron. That might apply to you and your dysfunctional tax avoiding chums but don’t apply your own shortcomings to the rest of us.
The way you’re going, DD, a hung parliament is a definite possibility. ( I refuse to even contemplate an overall Labour victory as just the thought makes me very ill.) Get a grip, man, before it’s too late and we’re all fucked beyond redemption.
Seriously, I don’t care who wins the GE or what happens to this royally f**ked little island. I disagree with the overall thrust of policy responses to pretty weak evidence of AGW, but at least something to come out of it is investment in new power generation technology making plenty of demand for self-employed engineers like me. Hence, I could pretty much up sticks and leave the UK if taxes get any higher or currently legal methods of avoidance get closed off. Everyone seems to want to build clean combustion and gasification plant right now. So in my case, I am at the top of the Laffer curve, and will leave in short order if any new government attempts to loot my hard earned to pay for someone else’s stupidity or fecklessness. It would be true to say I am angry.
As pointed out above, Zac Goldsmith will be fighting to hold off the Liberals, not Labour. The Liberals are very ‘green’ and Zac may well steal enough votes off them to win the seat – horses for courses!
I wrote at the time that the Tories would bitterly regret not electing David Davies to the leadership: the man has common sense, a faculty almost totally lacking in Dave C and his hangers on. He’s Eurosceptic, AGW-sceptic, and would not have countenanced all-women shortlists for a moment
This is going to tear the Tories apart – but really, Cameron had it coming once he declared himself the “heir to Blair.” Cameron needs to lose – the bigger war is to make sure that climate warmism is firmly seen by everyone to be a leftist ideology, and not a science-based movement.
I just read this comment on James Delingpole’s blog page, can anyone thow any light on the facts? They would be very interesting if susceptible to proof, and might explain something which has been puzzling me – where do the Blairs get that much money?
” Check out who controls Barclay Brothers’ line of credit and you will arrive at a $55 trillion Carbon Disclosure Project launched by Tony and Cherie “Gaia” Blair out of 10 Downing Street in 2000 “
Dave needs to remember that not all Tories are as rich as Zac Goldsmith…
Or indeed himself.
It seems baffling as to why Call-Me-Cast-Iron Dave is aboard the Socialist AGW bandwagon, and is ignoring the views of the majority of the Party.
Until you remember the word “Bilderberg”.
Just remember they are watermelons, and if Dave & co. are co-habiting with them, they are watermelons also, pretending to be tories but actually socialists.
The defeat of Rudd’s ETS may not be the victory you hope for – popular consensus is that Labor (not Labour) will now win a rather large majority in the new year thanks to Abbott – there’s quite a lot of support for this ETS thing
It’s confusing, because the ETS is a crock and no one wants the tax hike, but it’s still supported, which is why the liberals are tearing themselves apart wanting to oppose it, but needing to support it – it’s bloody stupid, but the libs are not in a strong position at all and it’s unlikely Krudd will be going anywhere
The evidence is overwhelming, the climate is changing, human activity is a major factor. By 2050 the average temperature of the world will have risen by 2 degrees C. Cutting greenhouse gases may keep temperatures from rising further; not cutting greenhouse gases may mean they will rise even more.
You chaps can rant all you like against your various favourite hate figures and groups, but evidence is evidence. There is no conspiracy: take a look at http://climate.nasa.gov/
To add to the burgeoning catastrophes, the world population is likely to approach 9 billion by 2050.
Three words for you to explain to the viewers cockhead.
Medieval Warm Period.
The defence rests.
No, you need to look at the evidence.
Have you got Tourette’s, by the way?
The evidence has been rigged dickface.
You need to “look” again and get a better argument knobcheese.
And fucking yes. I do have shitting toorettes, fuckweasel.
NASA – the home of James Hansen, the activist discredited by his former boss James Theon?
You are getting more and more desperate now that your climate gangsters are being found out.
I think you’ll find that Theon wasn’t in fact the boss of Hansen. But anyway, how does this affect the data on the NASA site?
‘Climate gangsters’? This is a serious matter, please try not to be so angry and please look at the evidence.
What “evidence” spermsucker?
Let me guess. Peer reviewed science?
Unfortunately, its based on fraudulent and fabricated data, frigwhistle.
Now, wheres this SOLID evidence thats got NO massaging or or other statistically biased modelling applied to it?
OOPs! They deleted all the RAW data, nippleclamp, so no one, no not even jiszm garglers like you can check it.
Doh!…..twat.
You are a fool.
Mr Ivor Biggun of Swiveleye: I think you’ll find he was indeed the boss of Hansen.
Or rather, I think you won’t find that out, since you are incapable of finding out the most trivial fact, preferring instead to rely on appeals to authority.
Authority being the Hadley CRU @ UEA, fnarr fnarr.
The fool to whom you refer is obviously yourself.
You don’t have ONE piece of evidence to link “climate change” to anthropogenic activity.
Not ONE.
All you have are computer games, sorry, models written by “Professor” Phil Jones and his ilk.
And we know now just how trustworthy they are.
Game, set, and, indeed, match.
No, I think you’ll find he wasn’t actually.
I think you and the Ghost of Christmas Tourette’s are one-and-the-same. You certainly have a similar level of obstinacy, ignorance and rage.
This is rather like arguing with AIDS deniers or Creationists or similar crackpots.
You (both. or is it just you only) seem very angry and paranoid. I suggest you get help.
Meanwhile, the evidence is all there, for any fool to see. http://climate.nasa.gov
Mr Ivor Smallpiece of Cockingrad.
Call me cast iron Dave and i are entirely different entities, shitshoe.
Ok back to the “science”.
Its truly ironic when true believers like your good self quote “creationism” as being the belief of a crackpot yet you still “believe” in anthropogenic climate change via CO2- dullard and all without a single shred of proof.
Despite you quoting nasa ( not Gavin Schmidt are you?) who also hails from the climate cretin pov i remain unimpressed by your twattery and attempts to obfuscate the argument vis a vis Aids.
No Mr Arsereck of Sideboards, i want some independent RAW data to back up the claims.
Whats the matter fuckbucket? Too tall an order for you?
As I said before, you seem to be mentally unwell, so I sincerely suggest you seek medical help as soon as possible.
Try to look at what you have been saying, including all you posts as ‘Ghost of’ at the very least, from the point of view of someone who isn’t you. It looks like the rantings of an insane fool.
A couple of typos there: that should be ‘your posts’, and ‘it’ should be ‘they’.
But at least I know how to use apostrophes.
And, indeed, ‘looks’ should be ‘look’.
Oh yes, looks like the Met Office and others are going to release all the raw data, so you and your friends can interpret it. That would be so interesting, your degrees in atmospheric physics, meterology and statistical analysis will really come to the fore. We’re all looking forward to hearing your analyses. I’m sure you can fault the work of these few thousands of scientists reporting to the IPCC. I mean, what do they know. You, young Mr Tourette’s sweary, My Cast-Iron-Dave-Ghost etc obviously have superior intellect and will trounce them all with your Big Brain.
Not.
