Gordon Not the Only One Outwitted in Brussels

Guido is increasingly fascinated with the coverage of EU affairs by the Thunderer.  Last month it crowned Tony Blair president of Europe on  the front page.  Guido said at the time this was a delusion.

Yesterday it reported on a great British diplomatic triumph over the damned French in Brussels.  “French foiled” ran the headline:

The Times’ Brussels correspondent David Charter then turned around 180 degrees and today reports a British defeat by the French.

This is the kind of insight they are going to put behind Murdoch’s pay-wall?

Europe will have to have another war to get back the freedom and democracy it’s countries one enjoyed, except other nations this time will NOT be stupid enough to help out in it’s internal squabbles.

Climate Momentum Shifting: Prominent Scientists Reverse Belief in Man-made Global Warming – Now Skeptics

Growing Number of Scientists Convert to Skeptics After Reviewing New Research

Following the U.S. Senate’s vote today on a global warming measure (see today’s AP article: Senate Defeats Climate Change Measure,) it is an opportune time to examine the recent and quite remarkable momentum shift taking place in climate science. Many former believers in catastrophic man-made global warming have recently reversed themselves and are now climate skeptics. The names included below are just a sampling of the prominent scientists who have spoken out recently to oppose former Vice President Al Gore, the United Nations, and the media driven “consensus” on man-made global warming.

The list below is just the tip of the iceberg. A more detailed and comprehensive sampling of scientists who have only recently spoken out against climate hysteria will be forthcoming in a soon to be released U.S. Senate report. Please stay tuned to this website, as this new government report is set to redefine the current climate debate.

In the meantime, please review the list of scientists below and ask yourself why the media is missing one of the biggest stories in climate of 2007. Feel free to distribute the partial list of scientists who recently converted to skeptics to your local schools and universities. The voices of rank and file scientists opposing climate doomsayers can serve as a counter to the alarmism that children are being exposed to on a daily basis. (See Washington Post April 16, 2007 article about kids fearing of a “climactic Armageddon” )

The media’s climate fear factor seemingly grows louder even as the latest science grows less and less alarming by the day. (See Der Spiegel May 7, 2007 article: Not the End of the World as We Know It ) It is also worth noting that the proponents of climate fears are increasingly attempting to suppress dissent by skeptics. (See UPI May 10, 2007 article: U.N. official says it’s ‘completely immoral’ to doubt global warming fears )

We’ve been trained to police ourselves via such words and phrases.

All views expressed should be considered with respect and each one of us has to decide whether to accept or reject such views – in an ‘ideal world’ of course, which it isn’t….for now.

I have decided until now, not to respond to these often repeated slurs, namely that I am an unprincipled opportunist, who is framing my parties agenda within the confines of a strategy decided by others who prefer to stay out of the public light.

Nothing could be further from the truth, I have deeply held and honourable principles, that I will never change, no matter how unpopular or loudly my rivals may criticise them.

I am committed to progressive and compassionate conservatism, a conservatism that cares for the poorest in our society, a conservatism that redistributes all our resources equally, a conservatism where the Quangocracy can flourish for the benefit of all, a conservatism that is pragmatic and blends into the reality of the modern world, a global and ever changing economy that needs a new world order to function properly and the fight against global warming.

Who could doubt my committment to the new EU state, the NHS, the continual wars that are essential for world peace and getting the best deal for Britain from our partners in the EU?

Yes I hear you say, what of this is different from the labour party? Unapologetically, I stand before you and say nothing and yes I will stand firm for the kind of conservative party I know that my honourable friend and associate Lord Peter Meddlesome, would feel comfortable in.

It looks like Murdoch’s Sun backing the Tories is having serious repercussions, and it demonstrates how the powers that be can cut off a media channel from news feed, or worse still, start feeding wrong information as appears to be happening here.

This is why all media have been slavishly following the Hung Parliament narrative, based on almost nil hard evidence that Conservative support has fallen dramatically from where it was previously. They fear the determination of Brown and Mandelson to punish news organisations that don’t conform with their wishes. And here you see the results.

James Murdoch has taken a big risk by declaring support for Cameron so early.

    • 54

My feeling is that, in terms of global power and influence, Rupert Murdoch and his organisation have more of it than the British government. Murdoch has influence in the US, whereas the British government has none. This would explain why The Times can blithely get things wrong and carry on regardless, whereas the lesser newspapers have to bow and scrape to the little gods.

I have no problem with the plan or execution. Makes sense to get the crap off the roads and keep the Motor Trade in business.

However Mandy’s agreed largesse is entirely self liquidating. £1000 is the Government Contribution.

Assuming that they have changed or warped the Market by this policy, and actually these cars would never have been registered for use. (Entirely possible) The median price appears to be over £15k on the scrappage offer.

The VAT payments alone fund the whole scheme easily. Not to mention Reg Fees, Number Plate sales, Full tanks of petrol, etc. Long List, but worth adding to!

So whilst it is pragmatic and sensible, why do the BBC keep on making out that the Government is handing money back. Most customers will in fact have paid twice as much in the VAT element alone.

          • Actually all the Scrappage scheme does is support rich new car buyers via making people in other sectors of the economy poorer.

An over-sized just Government transfers money, it’s all it can do, and it damages the economy the more it does it.

The CEO was having fits as to the scenario, but the Electrical Engineer sat there unconcerned.
After the meeting I said to the EE,Bill are you not worried about what might happen he said am I fuck,so I said to him go on put me at ease.
He then took me to a computer run process and said watch,I’m going to set it so it passes midnight on the fateful day, watch what happens,it duly went past midnight and the date changed not to year 2000 but to year 1990 and the process carried on running normally.
This EE who was a wiz kid on computers then explained ie- the bloody computer doesn’t know what day or date it is it only knows what you tell it and seeing we are not concerned in the process what the fucking date is I have set all the process computers to not recognise year 2000.

The Tories are every bit as fanatical about the AGW fraud as newlabour and they have no intention of reviewing their policies because of a little thing like forged and fraudulant data, dirty tricks, crooked manipulation and lies, as far as Dave is concerned the ‘science’ is settled, not because it is settled of course, it certainly is not but rather because Dave is just like his other two chums from liblab he is a bought and paid for stooge of those who invented the scam.

You could present the big three commissars with 100% proof that the entire basis for AGW being a fraud in technicolour ten foot high illuminated billboards authenticated by the top scientists in the world and he would still believe in the global warming fraud because he is a fully bought off NWO CP stooge, only when Dave is ordered to change his mind by his bosses will Dave obey.

    EU Notice Board says:

Out of all the positions i.e. President;High Rep(Foreign Affairs) and the Financial Commissioner the latter was the one to go for. Both Sarkozy and Merckel have played this absolutely brilliantly and “suckered” Brown and deflected attention in the British media by careful briefing and talking up the chances of Blair as President when anybody who cared to actually do some research or ask various people in europe would have been told that Blair chances were less than zero. Then the French and Germans started to talk up Miliband for the Foreign brief(they would have been ok to allow that to happen)but Miliband rejected the job and Mandelson was rejected by the EU but the really clever part was that they asked Brown to submit a list of names and then they chose the 4th on the list Cathy Ashton who was Barroso’s favourite anyway – so they were doubly happy having succeeded in getting a “federalist” into the President’s job and also shoe-horned in Ashton who again will not favour the UK over others. Finally they got the real prize – they succeeded in getting the man they wanted into the finance brief – Michael Barnier a close ally of “Sarko” and someone who favours financial regulation of all financial services with the unspoken brief to reduce the City of London as a glol player whilst ensuring that Frankfurt and Paris are promoted over London.

So in summary another brilliant diplomatic triumph for our Prime Minister who is now openly laughed at in the Capitals of Europe and totally ignored as of any importance in Washington. But doubtless the friendly BBC will “spin” this has Brown once again setting the agenda for Europe

This episode really just raises questions about whether the conservatives are seen to have changed? Are they still viewed by some as rabidly anti-European?

Also, Neil, there were those who thought Gordon might be outfoxed in negotiations for the new position of financial commissioner. This has not happened. The new appointee will in fact be working tirelessly to ensure that Frankfurt and Paris become the two key EU financial centers. Gordon Brown has stated repeatedly that a strong Europe is to our benefit and that the increase in French and German trade is good for British jobs.

Right now I think Gordon Brown is feeling rather happy. And David Cameron is a little uncomfortable – he’ll have to be very careful not to appear too right wing on this issue.

        We don’t.

The ‘nwo’ – same as the ‘owo’ (old world order) will not stand as ultimately ‘they’ have to have the ‘will of the people’ to make it work. Whilst millions of us haven’t even woken up to treason within yet – those of us who have been ridiculed as ‘flat earthers’ know that ‘global government’ was the agenda all along.

If this was 1939 we’d be trying to warn people that the Nazi’s were coming… The nazi’s morphed into the likes of the CIA and latterly Alky Aida. However, if we’re not on the violent, tyrannical, despotic ‘front lines’ like the World Trade Centre; Afghanistan; Iraq; Sudan; Somalia; Israel etc, then the PEN is the ‘wmd’ of choice….as can be seen at Lisbon/EU and the coming ‘outing’ of global governance at Copenhagen where, based on the ‘thin air’ principle of ‘carbon credits’, we will, if ‘they’ get their wet dream, be ‘global citizens’ in the Holy Roman Fourth Reich Empire (Babylon reincarnated) that’s been the plan all along.

Things are going to get a whole lot worse for a time – but compassion; goodness; Truth and real justice will win in the end. If I didn’t believe that – I wouldn’t waste my time getting myself continually moderated…..

Heath pushed us over the EU cliff decades ago. We’re still falling and there’s a long way to go yet.

The only parachute is UKIP, and we won’t deploy it because we think they’re just a pressure group, not a political party.

What we don’t seem to grasp is that our so called government, whatever its colour, has now also become just a pressure group in the EU.

A EUKIP parachute? I’d rather fall to our deaths in defeat to Labour, and rise phoenix-like from the ashes than be gummed up in a Hung Parliament. If Cameron gets a landslide, there might be 100 eurosceptic Tory MPs holding the balance of power in the Commons. That would be more bloody use.

          Mr Ned says:

Correct. If any tory believes that there is any hope for our sovereignty in voting for the conservatives, they will be sorely disappointed.

I wish the tories would catch the fuck up with reality. Mere “euro scepticism” is utterly futile now.

Thatcher gave up as much of our sovereignty as Blair has, and when she started to balk at what was required of her, she was deposed by the insiders. She had to stick to the agenda, or go. Major came in promising to be much more at the heart of Europe. He argued too much, the insiders turned the media puppet against the tory puupet and in favour of the other NWO puppet, new labour. Now that Lisbon has gone through, the tories can come back and bleat all they like, a hundred tory so-called ‘euro sceptics’ will never be able make the shitest bit of difference.

From midnight on Monday, (When the Lisbon Treaty becomes EU law) The British government will be powerless.

The ONLY chance of having any power or democracy or say in anything ever again will be to vote UKIP and get us the hell out of the soviet style EU dictatorship completely.

          • Cassandra King says:

What if the charade being played out between the big three parties is just that, a big smelly fraudulent charade? all designed to fool the voter into thinking there are still seperate parties to vote for. The policy differences between the big three on man made global warming are? The real differences between the big three on the EU are? Daves sceptisism about the EU just does not ring true, it sounds fake and I suspect he wil make a few noises to satisfy his grassroots while selling the UK down the river.

And what will happen in Afghanistan after we’ve gone in 2015??

The ruin has more or less lied since he came to be PM , we mustnt forget the long list of failiures to be honest or for that matter ensure votes for matters of national choice as to how we should be governed have been denied .

Federalism can only progress into mild dictatorship , and we have seen enough of the ruins dream in practice to realise we have a form of dictatorship quite alien to our long history and this once much happier country that lived under its more respectfull form of government .

Darling ether makes a statement , or is summoned my earlier figure of £40bn is corrected to $50bn so a bit less than I thought , it may also mean that ruins talk of reducing the debt is a bit meanigless being as we now understand that these hidden secret debts , were perhaps so near to junk status that we were never going to see them , you cannot help but think that he knew all along from the moment the rock went down that these secret debts were so bad he had to state own them .

You sense a man carrying too many dirty plates , unable to see where he is going and desperatly trying to find a perch to dump them on , yet walking away from the sink and the task every time , leaving the public with nothing to dine from . hardly service !

CW appreciates there are some big ideas floating around , the ruin is politically an amorphus blob , no manefesto , no confidence in any ideas , stabbing wildly at anything that enables a jackboot coalition , you couldnt make up a worse form of goverment . Where is the man that promised us “not flash just gordon” might as well have “no manefesto just gordon” or “no policies just gordon” or “not a vaccuum just marxism”.

he ploughs on , just hoping a sort of normalisation will occure in the complexity and unsuitable destructive marriages of state and finance , its like being assimialted by the borg on super skunk , resistance is futile can you spare me a £1!!

remeber the ruins promise to repay half the debt in 4 years , we are still waiting for that idea some 4 months after he announced it , leaving it to darling no doubt , but then again if Darling is no good , i think we begin to slip out of what is good being anything to do with this government . old Holborn doesnt seem to think we can wait , Cw isnt too sure either but is at least prepared to let listen to what parliamnet has to say next week , we have after all been waiting some 30 months for this , god help them if its cockwaffle mk7 .

    http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2009/11/25/ukraines_phantom_flu

The global swine flu outbreak has become something of a political football in every country where the pandemic has spread, but Ukraine’s response to the virus has achieved a new level of blatant politicization. According to a campaign advisor to Yulia Tymoshenko, the Ukrainian prime minister and presidential candidate purposely inflated fears of an ongoing swine-flu epidemic to aid her presidential run.

“We had to create a phantom and then have a white knight riding in to save the day,” Taras Berezovets, a senior campaign advisor for Tymoshenko’s BYuT bloc, told me in a Kiev restaurant, confirming widespread suspicions among Ukrainian journalists.

The Polish government have seen right through the swine flu vaccination scam.

The Hungarian public are also pissed off. Here, the notoriously corrupt left government refuses to reveal the contract they signed with the local vaccine company, and the company ownership cannot be traced.

HINT the (Hungarian) company is based in Cyprus, where senior ministers hold their off’shore accounts.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I long ago stopped believing what the Garton-Ash “bugger me sideways” contingent keep telling us about the wonderful EU, should have been surprised to find that – contrary to the impression given by our crap media – there are a host of other EU superstate jobs up for grabs apart from the Presidency and the “High Representative”. Which can only mean the French and the Germans have rightly identified it is more important to grab hold of these other jobs than the titular posts.

Well I for one am voting UKIP now. Let’s go down in flames.

The beginning of the end for Brown says:

Strong noises coming out that Mandelson will put the knife in to Brown over the Copenhagen weekend.
