+++ 1/5 Young Unemployed – 943,000 Under 24s on Dole +++
ONS numbers reveal that youth unemployment continues to rise, with the number of 16 to 24-year-olds up by 15,000 to 943,000, giving a rate of 19.8%, a record high.
Gordon says youth unemployment is his priority…

Well, he’s succeeding then, isn’t he?
The Penguin
don’t worry Dave will have it all fixed in a jiffy
bish-bosh job done
Its not a problem, nothing to worry about, after all the figures are better than what they budgeted. So they are beeting their target of 1 in 4 out of work, and this is due to the sure start measures that Zanu put in place and that Dave rejected !
Howzat for a predictable attempt at spin. Do I get the job you Bong-Eyed-Bastard ?
Financial misconduct = Conservatives
= The Inquisition
You are Rip van Winkle and I demand my fiver. It’s ZaNu that’s been in power these last 12 years.
Financial Misconduct =_________ No, Its no good . Even i can’t spout this crap anymore. I’m just a computer program and even i don’t believe it.
What Passes for A New Labour Debate says:

That’s so good.
That’s not entirely accurate.

HAHAHAHAHA – an unfortunate bit of formatting has placed the last Guy News below this – frozen on a picture of unemployed 23 year old Tory blogger Harry Cole.
GET A JOB, HARRY! On yer bike, and find something better to do than hounding politicians with three times the life experience you have.
I’m not sure Labour Party politician qualifies as ‘life experience’. I’d have thought it was groundhog Day for the past 13 years for most of ‘em.
Show up. Vote how you’re told. Go home. They might as well be bolting wheels on Allegros for all the ‘life experience’ they managed to accumulate in their time at the HoP.
Anyway Harry Cole is doing a great job by not working. working only supports this evil government by flattering their rigged unemployment statistics and paying taxes for them to piss up the wall.
Labour will be pleased, more recruits in their ‘welfare constituency’. They are dead as a political force, they can’t even spin anymore.
I have just reviewed their website I was surprised just how poor it is. Good for a laugh though, still harping on about Gordon Brown being ‘Statesman of the year’.
The Inquisition fails to understand the difference between a big lie and an obvious un-truth.
Mass youth unemployment = Labour
jgm2, I’m not sure a minor public school, followed by Edinburgh University and its debating society count as much life experience either!
The Truth Hurts said:
“GET A JOB, HARRY! On yer bike, and find something better to do than hounding politicians with three times the life experience you have.”
Politicians like Chloe Smith……….uuuggh
Why are we surprised or shocked.
ONS statistics reveal that unemployment has riden under every Labour Government.
Why do the MSM still support this bunch of incompetent self servers who have given us
Record unemployment
Record public, private and corprate debt
The first run on a British bank in 140 years
no election
no referendum and Westminster is now a suburb of Brussels
more of our money paid to the government than ever before.
worse off poor people
more millionaire labour Cabinet ministers that were poor when they entered Parliament
WHY IS ANYONE STILL LISTENING TO THE WORST PERFORMING GOVERNMENT WE HAVE EVER HAD.
FOR GOD SAKE CAMERON – GROW SOME BALLS AND START TELLING EVERYBODY WHAT THESE IDIOTS HAVE DONE
McGroom, you are exactly right. But it does look like Cameron will make the same mistake about his economic policy that he has about Lisbon. He cannot afford a repeat of his failure to grasp that backtracking after the event makes him look shifty and incompetent.
He needs to emphasise how bad the economy really is to prepare everyone for the terrible belt tightening to come. Unless of course he actually is shifty and incompetent; or in a hopeless dope fug. He seems to love digging holes for himself.
I wonder if UKIP taking away his lead in the polls will make him grow some balls? Let’s try that shall we?
I know that Cameron reads this blog. I don’t know if he reads the comments or not, but here goes just in case.
Dave,
All you have to do, Dave, is sign a legally binding notice of intent to call an in-or-out referendum on the EU and you will win a landslide at the election and kill off UKIP at the same time.
You don’t even have to campaign for a no vote. In fact I don’t care if you, Brown and Clegg and the entire mainstream media ALL join to campaign for a “yes” to stay in the EU and continue to lead in the EU, so long as WE, the SOVEREIGN people of this Sovereign Isle get a FUCKING SAY IN THAT!!!
Give US a referendum Dave, Then that would prove that you are not complicit in TREASON! (for to give away sovereignty to a foreign power, without being defeated in war IS treason!)
Why do you refuse? Do you really want to see labour win?
You STILL have the opportunity to prove yourself, but will you? Or would he rather see Brown win, than risk upsetting your EU masters? because it is THAT which tells US exactly who you are loyal to.
So who is it Dave? The British electorate? or foreign bureaucrats?
We know the assurances you gave one week ago are worthless under the new EU law. So come clean. Admit that the “in Europe but not run BY Europe” ship has sailed. Admit that to continue along the current course will inevitably see more and more of our sovereignty transferred out of the control of democratically accountable governance into the third sector EU Quangocracy. Admit it and then GIVE US A SAY!
Stop LYING to the British people. You demean yourself, your family, your party AND this entire nation when you stoop to Brown’s level.
PLEASE, DAVE, GIVE US OUR SAY, OR WE SHALL HAVE IT ANYWAY AT THE ELECTION!
Neat.
Agree with Mr Ned. If Cameron is as smart as he’s made out to be, there are two possibilities IMHO:
1. Nobbled/ bribed by New World Order.
2. Wants to throw the election and leave McSnot to clean up his own mess, with a vote of no confidence down the line.
Cast iron Dave He’s MY man, if he can’t fix it no one can.
http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/08cD8WF6015Pu/610x.jpg
He’s behind you!!!
More Brown mess to clear-up – he’s going to have his hands full.
My dad says he will put ALL the bastards on the dole – ‘think he was jokin’ :-\
Looney tunes is out of his straight jacket again.
You are a fucking cretin…
Did you deliberately compose and post your filth during the 2 minute silence for Armistice Day?
Guido..for Gods sake get rid of this parasite.
What’s it like, disrespecting the name of a dead child? Do you get a thrill out of it? Watch out. What goes around, comes around.
Dickbrain’s back.
He must be so proud of your ‘work’ on this site.

Hey Troll! What’s it like under that bridge?
Is it nice being vilified and shat upon by the rest of us?
Pillock. Go play with some traffic.
Youth unemployment is far higher than 20%. More like 60% as most of them have now enrolled at a new uni/old polytech and the daft fuckers are even paying for it.
The policy of having 50% going to university was to fiddle the unemployment figures.
It kept the young ‘uns out of the dole office for a few years.
As you said MoreLike60%, I think your estimate may be closer to the mark. Poor feckers are looking for a job paying minimum wage and having to pay back a load of money for a degree that isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on.
It was a cunning little plan by our glorious leaders to get people in debt as soon as possible and to keep them under the thumb from there onwards.
I hate to sound too prescient, but I’ve been saying things like this for about 3 years. 50% is absurd; it demeans the whole idea of a degree; it’s clearly a means of keeping youths indoors because we have no real jobs to offer.
It’s cunning in a loathsome way because it means the poor creatures even pay for the privilege.
“I hate to sound too prescient”
No need to apologise. It’s just so bloody annoying that its only after 12 years of meddlesome Champagne socialists wrecking the lives of normal people that now, some people are just beginning to wake up from the overdraft financed slumber.
The situation is dire, and I feel truly for whomever has to pick up the pierces of yet another failed social experiment :(
You are missing the point. It is a form of mass socialist education. Each course I am doing this semester could be retitled “Race Relations” or “Gender Relations” without the title becoming incongruous. Everything is istism, ismist, istist, or ismism. After 12 years in the state system the kids lap it up and regurgitate without a thought.
Some of us mature students have deliberately started going out to promote right wing views just to see how far we can push the twats. They don’t like contrary views it panics them………
Not many here shouldn’t be on a degree. Then again I attend one of the better red brick uni’s.
When The Tories left power youth unemployment was 600,000 higher than this.As a proportion of unemployment these figures are better than France or Germany, 250,000 of this figure are students. The unemployment figures are not as bad today as the Tories thought they would be so they are making waves about youth unemployment. What a sick bunch the Tories are.
Hang on, Germany has just over 500,00 unemployed youths and we have 900,000, and we’re doing better?
There are a lot more Germans, but not twice as many.
I see that Mandelson is to be made Minister of Information. Is that Minister for Information Retrieval or just for Information Storage? There is a big difference and I think we should be told.
They could all work in the city
well, ‘work’ is clearly the wrong word
collect taxpayer bail-out money and bonuses in the City then
just doing god’s work.
love of money is the root of all evil
same gig, different name.
Gordoom’s banker mates, you mean? Do Goodwin, Hornby and Crosby still traipse off to see Brown in his bunker?
They are all staunch champagne “socialists” so presumably yes.
Good idea.
They would have to change their names though.
Peers, Tarquin etc. for the top boys.. then Gary, Nigel, Wayne from Essex…
give us all yer fookin’ money!
I think you will find that the FSA require all city workers to be “fit and proper” persons
That would automatically rule out any ex-MP
and the likes of Fred the Shred? Cleaned up and sorted then.
Could send ‘em to Afghanistan?
Call me cynical (!) but I think that’s part of the overall plan thus avoiding having to even pay their OAP in the future… It’s not just our word that’s our bond – our Birth Cert is also a BOND. . .cui bono if that’s the case??
ZaNuLiebore’s plan is to dismantle the UK: sovereignty; culture; peoples; trust; economy; armed forces; institutions etc. All broken by ZaNu.
You are acquainted with TPUC aren’t you Suky?
I thought your earlier posts were more astute than most others on here. ;)
“You are acquainted with TPUC aren’t you Suky? ”
I am indeed Mr Ned – and BC Group etc. After 7 ‘full-on’ years of research I’m STILL tumbling down the rabbit hole – it’s far deeper than I ever imagined!
Trouble is, most still don’t want to ‘know’ or are in denial – and me, I’m just a crazy conspiracy kook lol!
Start recruiting and training our first land army since 1945, food production is the only mass employer that has the capacity to soak up all this unemployment,
Phew! Good job it wasn’t over the psychological 1,000,000 mark eh!! (wonder where they hid the numbers?). Paying 16 year old future voters to remain in school goes some way to keep the figures artificially low eh ;0).
As does the increase in university student numbers.
Yeah – Uni fees – once our children are in debt, before they even get a job, they’re trapped – as planned. Bastard ’system’.
We believe these stats? 8 millioon on benefits more like.
million, damn it.
are the Millioons any relation to the Millibands ?
They are all sisters… in shame.
No, they’re the Millihoons.

Another lost generation thanks to another Socialist party experiment.
When will the idiots who vote for them (“coz me mam ‘n’ dad always did!!”) ever learn?
If that gutless excuse for a man had any courage he would call an election now but thats a bloody big ask of Mr Moral Compost.
A society which has gone from affluent to effluent in thirteen tears. What a legacy!
“coz me mam ‘n’ dad always did!!”
more like “coz me mam did. dunno ’bout me dad, never met ‘im”
Agreed – “some blokes at the pub” under father on the birth certificate
Just like the Soviet Socialists in Russia eliminated the peasant small landowners (Kulaks). Lenin and Stalin knew that their main opposition would come from those sturdy independent folk. So Brown’s socialist ZaNu targets the aspirational working and middle classes with higher taxes, political correctness and state surveillance.
In the Labour-land of the blind, the one eyed man is king!
But you ONLY ever hear about Labour voters voting that way because their parents voted Labour, the grandparents voted Labour, great grandparents votes Labour. I other words, Labour voters are shit for brains.
You don’t ever hear of people voting that way with other political parties.
OT but fellow traveller Mike Naylor is being heavily modded by the BBC.
Have they realised they went too far yesterday and are trying to give the impression they treat ‘him’ the same as us?
I would be surprised if ‘he’ was posting at this time of day. He claims to be an ex pat working in Singapore, and his tirades normally start about about lunchtime.
You are right though..he posted garbage about 50 times in 2 hours yesterday, and most got through…yet often, less ‘objectionable’ comments by reasonable people are modded.
To use an oft misplaced phrase..I am no conspiracy theorist, but….
..I would really love it if Guido could find any evidence of mass manipulation of blogs by any political Party..regardless of their colour.
It would be explosive.
For example,if there was evidence that the smearing of Mrs Janes emanated from a political organisation, and that politicians claims of overwhelming support for Brown was,in fact, a manipulation..can you imagine the public outburst against the perpetuators?
‘perpetrators’..need more coffee!
Especially if public money was used to pay for it!
Pity we can’t yet add little Milliband orWee Douggie Alexander to the list of unemployed kids. Give it time.
Milliband would then have time to spend with his BOGOF kids….
His missus should just have waited until his balls dropped, then he’d be able to father children.
I’d love to see some direct comparisons across the years which show:
- Number of unemployed
- Number of government workers
- Number of students
- Number on incapacity benefit
- Numbers working
Just how many people are contributing to Gordon’s economy?
Me, You. Oh And that bloke around the corner !
I’ve just been made redundant.
Sorry, you have some savings and so you aren’t eligible for unemployment benefit.

I want to know the number of official hours worked by the population.
The trend to minimum wage has caused short time jobs where the overtime and extra time is unpaid. The employer says it will take 30 minutes to clean a toilet block. So do they take 30 minutes or 1 hour? If they take 30 minutes they are sacked for not cleaning. If they take 1 hour they keep their job but get half the pay.
The government then subsidises the wages and they become addicts to Labour while the rest of us see the mounting debt, and the the bonuses of the company boss that set the 30 minute per toilet target.
I’m committed to PFI and the Labour party.
Do you like my Ferrarri?
I’m going to burn the rich (all except N Lab colleagues like you).
To the real Harriet Harperson.
We the men of this country are going to burn you. WITH FUCKING NAPALM!!!!!!!!!
Billy :
Bit of a “back of fag packet” set of stats but here goes (figures from the ONS to the end of September 2009) :
Unemployed : 7.8%
Economically Inactive : 12.9%
Employed by Public Sector : 20.7% of UK total
So that’s 41.4% of the population supported by the remainder. Except it’s worse than that, because I can’t extract a number that relates to the number of people who have jobs depending on PFI and the rest of the off-balance sheet scams…..
Over 50% of the economy is extorted by the state.
моя работа почти не сделана а хорошо на ей путь
“my work is not almost done but well on it’s way”
Government spending accounts for 85% of some local economies in certain areas of the North West and Scotland.
I do find it interesting that Brown and Darling blame the City of London for the credit crunch when the worst offenders who had to be bailed out were
Royal Bank of SCOTLAND – Edinburgh
Bank of SCOTLAND – Edinburgh
HALIFAX
BRADFORD & BINGLEY
NORTHERN Rock – Newcastle
Barclays , HSBC and Standard Chartered are all fine. Lloyds would have been fine if they hadn’t been stuffed with HBOS.
……..and we let the member for Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath run the country and a the member for Edinburgh South West run the finances
Do we see a pattern emerging
H McRae of The Indy , said something similar, it was the regional banks which collapsed, not the London ones. The banks collapsed where Labour ran the local politics. Can anyone imagine the FSA criticising Northern Rock, HBOS, RBS and Bradford and Bingley ?
I think you meant
BradFRAUD & Bingley
Northern CROOK
Well observed .243.
Another issue that seems to evade the intellectual titan in No 10 is what proportion of the remainder are in work that adds VALUE to products. Financial services add COSTS at every stage.
There are very sorry stats re. the numbers of graduates in architecture and civil engineering who cannot find work.
We cannot hope to break out of recession until we have industries in which stuff is made that people in other countries want to buy.
The plain fact is that Brown, despite the bollocks about his history PhD, is an idiot. He could not manage a fast food outlet. He lacks common sense, people skills and micro-manages everything because he trusts nobody to get on with their own jobs.
Like all the other ’sons of the manse’ I ever met – he just does not like people.
And that makes him an incompetent leader.
“We cannot hope to break out of recession until we have industries in which stuff is made that people in other countries want to buy.”
Haleluja! someone else gets it too!
All this shaking money backwards and forwards as fast as possible to make it look like there is more of it than there really is was ALWAYS going to be unsustainable.
Fractional reserve banking of fiat currencies dependent upon usury is the world’s biggest ever SCAM. Yes, even bigger then the man-made global warming scam, and bigger than the democratic scam, because almost ALL the world’s money is crooked funny money that is backed by absolutely NOTHING of real value anymore.
IT IS A CON, but by heck, it makes people work hard, doesn’t it.
Well it does when the loan repayments are due. So why are people always chasing money that seems soooooo elusive?
If we, as a species, have the power to print money out of thin air, and we do. WHY is there so much debt? We can just print what we owe and cancel out the debt.
The fact that for us to do so would be illegal shows that the Government’s of the world are so in hock to the banking elite (no that is not Barclays or any other “high street” bank, they are pissing little small-fry) that the Government’s of the world are complicit in the scam ran by the central banks co-ordinated by the IMF, the World Bank and the Bank of International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland.
The last American President to suggest that the Government should create money (exactly as their constitution demands) as debt-free money backed by valuable metal was assassinated. Make of that what you will.
I know it is crazy to even pretend that we are on course to close down the global central banking system and return money to being a stable, value backed, debt free resource that is OUR servant, instead of our MASTER, but we need, AT LEAST, to make things to sell overseas so that we, the people, can generate income to return our economy to health. Why have successive labour and tory Governments run down British industry and manufacturing over the last 50 years? Can we really not run car manufacturing companies like the French or Germans?
The number of students has risen dramatically because they knew there were no jobs. So, yes, the real youth unemployment is well over a million.
That’s a one-in-a-generation blip. As news filters through to the younger kids and their parents that a pointless ‘degree’ from some shit institution will only ‘qualify’ you for a 12K a year job in a call-centre I think less and less people will be looking to get 30K in debt for the privilege.
I had to really make my daughter think very hard before allowing her to go to University. I would not have let her go to do one of the useless degrees, and she has to put in the effort to get a really good grade and be dedicated to staying on to get a Master’s and Phd.
A Bachelor’s degree is NOT worth the 20 grand debt for.
You wouldn’t “let” her go? How old is she and why are you treating her like a child?
Oh, by the way, you can forget the MA and PhD stuff. Without connections they won’t make one iota of difference. In Britain, they don’t see qualifications as an advantage. Instead, they are seen as a threat. Incumbents recoil in horror as their tiny egos are threatened by someone who is more qualified.
The only option is to leave the country.
While your at it getting rid of that horrible Roony pic can you delete the cartoon of Brown shitting? it’s hucking forrible.
it’s the strange inflate/deflate woman I’m not keen on
I love the smell of Gordons shit
I love putting my cursor on her naughty bits……..admit it, you all do.
Are the rest FULL time employed? Are they forced into token low hour jobs that would not even pay the rent? This is a trick played daily when say supermarkets “create” jobs. They are numbers of individuals, not the number of real working week jobs.
Good news, – Sainsburys – (close friend of newlabour), will be expanding and needing thousands of new employees, – take heart all you unemployed ‘qualified’ graduates.
10 hours shelf-stacking per week on minimum wage and a 20k debt as reward for a bachelor of arts degree?
Thanks, but no thanks!
That figure is going to look a lot worse when practically this years entire graduate cohort of 700,000 are eligible to claim the dole. As it is they’ve had their eligibility deferred by one ‘initiative’ or another until March 2010. You know, unpaid apprenticeships, 12 week waiting period.
All cynical delaying tactics designed to dump them onto the Tory statistics.
Just like utterly fucking the finances and leaving Cameron to take the tough decisions and tidy up the mess.
Because that way they’ll be back in power that much sooner bwahahahaha.
You know that labour are certain to lose, because they are putting in place all these bad-news-delaying tactics, and implementing insane plans that are utterly unaffordable (all cancer patients seen inside a fortnight), because they know that they will not be around to pay for it. So they will say in the run up to the election, Well we have implemented this, and those nasty tories are going to scrap it!!!
They are deliberately implementing things that they know cannot be sustained, just to make the opposition look bad as they will have to be scrapped.
You tory boys appear to be delighted at the youth unemployment figures, maybe if it had been 1,000,000 it would have been champagne all round, you appear not to be bothered about the human element in all this.
The failures we are witnessing now are as a result of weak opposition during the Blair years and now Brown has been left to clear up the mess.
Brown needs more time, the politiking will cause disasterous outcome if Blair MK2 in the form of Cameron becomes the next PM
VOTE CONSERVATIVE GET BLAIR BACK IN POWER
having a break from mailing the BBC, Mike?
Not the BBC – They’re having a go at the Mail again. “I’m no supporter of GB” etc.
Mail is 10-12pm, BBC 12-2pm, Sun 2-4pm
than a quick wank
I love the one on the Mail website from ‘Mary’ in Dublin (yeah right) complaining that the Irish leaders are heartless, unlike GB who ’seems to care and has not spent the last 20 years feathering his own nest’ (is this the same Gordon Brown?).
You’re hardly subtle you guys at Labour HQ. Must try harder.
Fuck me. The failure of the Blair/Brown conspiracy is the fault of a weak opposition?
Jesus. Are you sure it’s not the fault of an incompetent government and 400 Labour MPs whose socialist ideals really do extend as far as ‘I’m alright Jack’.
‘Cos that’s how it looks from here on Earth.
Look how many times do you have to be told, all the failure`s of socialism are Thatchers fault?
I own up – it was all my fault – it must have been
If it was nobody else’s – it must be my fault
Sorry
That’s taken tortology to a new art form – you should get a job in the Treasury
Tortology – the study of cakes
Have a chat with Bunker Control and tell them you’ve been rumbled. Get another alias and dream up something a bit less obvious.
You really are a chump, you know.
Get real fuckwit. Who had large majorities in Parliament over the last twelve years and did not allow its MPs to be ‘off message’ Who proposed the legislation? Which Labour MPs voted against it? When did Gordon oppose it?
I assure you non-one delights in the misery you and your kind have heaped on all generations, young, old and as yet unborn.
Brown has had two years plus – and achieved fuck all. He deserves no more.
When you rejoin the real world, you might realise what is actually happening
“Brown has had two years plus – and achieved fuck all.”
Fuck all would be a success. He’s done much worse than that
I blame Thatcher.
Quite right. If she hadn’t upset the unions then they wouldn’t have had to completely destroy the Uk to gettheir revenge.
I am staying at the Waldorf again tonight, on expenses of course. Nothing too good for the workers, ha ha ha!
…why blame the winners? You should blame James Callahan and Healey for losing. Or Scargill for fucking up the miners, not Thatcher.
Why do they blame me for fucking up the miners?
I thought you were dead?
Spelling. See me!
Callaghan was ok, he was a ‘nothingness’, a pragmatist, and that’s exactly what we need now to get over a disastrous course of new labour medicine, – a leader and a party who do exactly nothing!
We would all be much better off if we disbanded Government completely. don’t replace it.
You find in all the places in the world, where elections fail to find a leader, that during the ensuing months of horse-trading for power, there is NO government and nothing is done by Government and those countries are run much better during those times.
Government is generally harmful to the interests of a nation.
I love the smell of bullshit in the morning, how much does Whelan pay his trolls these days anyway?
You know the drill, minimum wage, short term contracts, no expenses, because “we care”.
KKC, I don’t know how much of our money Brown is paying you for this but he is not getting our money’s worth. You are an utter numptie.
However useless the Tories have been as an opposition does not excuse or mitigate the Labour party’s disgraceful lies, smears, treachery, theft, war mongering and amoral depravity.
And no opposition can make a government of all the talentless more competent.
BTW – No e in disastrous, you ignorant twerp!
Did you see me on Monday at the Berlin shindig listening to Angie and Sarko without my translation earpiece? How cool is that? I’m pretending to understand Frog and Kraut in my new role as Global Messiah. Pissed off Angie and the Frog bigtime but as Ed Balls says ’so what’.
We were hoping that you were going to visit the bunker with a few cans of petrol and something for the dog. Are the matches not working either?
send em all to university that way when they all hit the dole queue the tories will be in power and we can blame them !
This calls for an Inquiry that will report back to the House in 2045. Can I be Chairperson please as I’ll need a new job next year?
You’ll need a new ring piece if I find you in a dark alley any time soon, Straw Man.
It beats me why so many of our young folk are unemployed when the exam results have improved year on year?
I mean this year’s school leavers are cleverer than last years and last years cleverer than the year before etc etc.
Maybe employers are waiting for next year when they will be even cleverer?
What a pity our young folk have been sacrificed on the altar of tractor stats.
You make a good point. Surely no employer is going to want this years graduates now that we’re half way through the year anyway. they’re going to want the cleverer ones from next year.
Genius.
They will be cheaper too as a year younger. BOGOF scheme coming in 2010.
0ur youth are now so clever that they have relised that its better to stay on and study than join us the tax paying mushrooms. When are we going to educate the population to do the jobs that need to be done? No doubt the X factor generation have sussed that there is little point in working in a system run by greedy manipulative bastards. Of course tell the youth how great they all are ,give them fancy but worthless qualifications but in the end make them dependent on the state so that they become mushooms under house arrest. The graduates serving coffee in starbucks and pouring pints down your local must be fucking furious but there is no fight in them .As long as this country can borrow large amounts of money to keep the rich and poor youth in education or in training there will not be no civil insurrection but any incoming goverment will have to find a big job creation scheme quick to arrest the situation.
Brown spins Afghan withdrawal, More drug advisors follow Nutt, Guardian humbug on Baby P case, Students to name & shame MPs Another 10p tax-style fiasco for Brown and much more crap
And Brown is sacrificing the future prospects of nearly 1,000,000 young people. How very7 Socialist of him…
By that logic, then my graduation in 1980 must make me pretty stupid now by comparison. Maybe that’s why I cannot even get an interview then. But then it
is really because I am over 50.
Plenty of jobs in the Guardian – Government is booming.
Recession, what recession?
http://jobs.guardian.co.uk/jobs/government/
I really look forward to a Tory Government switching off the Guardian’s supply of “Government” job adverts.
Yes, we can all clearly see that you are terribly unemployable as you are using spelling and grammar in such an inferior manner.
try ritin lik dis 4 getin in 4 a job init! C I gt 10 gcses n work @ tescos. ur a nob so cnt get wrk @ all. hahahahaha yoos fckn t1t!
See the difference. The intellectual attainment of the modern school leaver is so far beyond the comprehension of those of us who only had to sit GCE ‘O’ level exams at school. The children leaving school today, not only have an amazing grasp of this foreign “txt” language, but most of them are budding criminal lawyers too as they have a complex and detailed understanding of their rights. Sadly, a grasp of responsibilities and duties would be too much of a stretch to ask of these young geniuses however.
But clearly the year on year improvements in education are bearing fruit wonderfully.
What I would really like to know ( and i’m being serious) is why so many of the recent immigrants from the Indian sub-continent are not unemployed. People laugh and tell me that its because there are plently of Moslem run firms which, quietly, will only employ fellow Moslems, and that the jobs are on offfer before they arrive here. Is this true ?
Would you want to work in a Balti house for less than minimum wage?
Ever see a white person working in an ethnic store, restuarant, etc?
Ever wondered why steps are never taken to rectify this obvious race discrimination?
I once worked for an Asian run car dealership in Leicester.
from personal experience I can understand why white people will not work for Asians.
The racial slurs, insults and racially motivated bullying was dreadful. The violence dished out was unbelievable in a modern tolerant Britain. With heavy spanners being thrown around the workplace, and power-tools used to great, and devastating effect.
But I soon got bored of beating my Asian bosses to a pulp and left to find work elsewhere!
The above is a JOKE, by the way. you know, just in case the few remaining lefties did not “get it”.
Yes, plenty of them. As it happens.
Regulation overload kills SMEs. If you are part of an ethnic community, you can ignor most of it. No-one on your community is going to rat on you.
… you would think with all this education there would be lots more competition in the professional classes. Solicitors, doctors etc, so therefore hourly rates would come down? No.
You think we didn’t anticipate that? We make sure our graduate intake remains a nice closed shop. Wouldn’t want to flood the market old boy.
1979: “Labour Isn’t Working”
June 2010: Labour isn’t.
That’s it.
Labour isn’t Dorking, Woking … or Worthing … or anywhere now.
Labour is Porking more like. Bunch of immoral and thieving bully-boy wnakers.
New Labour, New Danger.

I said at the time when that poster went up, that it would be proved correct in the due passage of time.
I was right again.
Nice work Gordon. Good to see you abolished the scrapheap as well as boom and bust!
I could use a few of these young lads as I like getting a little behind in this job.
Anyone know the answer to 4 Down in today’s The Sun?
‘Little behind’?
Don’t flatter yourself big boy.
Oooohh ere, missus
The curse of Jonah – prioritised and then it becomes a major problem.
Anyway, given that my v working class husband clawed his way through school and got a degree and I did the same (the first in my family to do so) – I understand that my children will have to tick a box declaring so and will not be allowed to go to the best Uni’s. Therefore they will join the youth unemployment as there is sod all point in them getting any exams.
There is a simple ‘get around’ to this ‘tick box’ regime.
Lie.
Tell ‘em you’re both long-term unemployed and you haven’t an ‘O’ Level between you.
I would like to know what happens if you refuse to tick (like I do with all those stupid ethnic things that you get given).
I think it’s their REAL intention is to create liars, just like the means tested welfare state does.
More forms, more fees, more fines!
….and that’s AFTER creating a zillion new non-jobs in public administration.
I think it’s because he created a zillion non-jobs. When Brown removed hundreds of billions of pounds from the productive economy to pay for his precious quangos (the ones Brown said he’d abolish) and expanded army of unproductive civil service filth, there was only going to be one outcome.
AlJaBeeba Radio 4 news at 11-02am. Economic growth in China on course for 8% growth this year. Factory output up sharply, despite recession.
Of course, Britain is still best placed……
So that is MOST of the EU, the USA, India and China who are now out of this recession and we are still bumping along the bottom. In SPITE of the cut in VAT, the hundreds of billions in extra borrowing, the 200 billion QE and all the other “positive action” Brown has done. How the fuck bad WOULD labour have made things if the Bank of England had not been forced to step in with QE?
It shows how much worse of a mess labour have REALLY made of the economy that ALL these extreme measures have failed to save us from the longest and deepest recession since before WW2!!!
None of these measures were required during the last tory recessions.
Remember labour going apoplectic over £10 billion lost on Black Wednesday? Yeah? 10!
Labour have blown half a trillion so far and we are STILL in recession!
Oh and the bankers are still getting bonuses, HOW FUCKING NICE!
So now you know whose side labour are on. Billions for bankers, bugger all but big bills for the rest of us and an attempted DOUBLING of income tax for the poorest workers.
YET STILL the poor in the North East claim “labour are for the poor and working class!”
Put a red rosette on a donkey and they’ll still vote labour up here.
I’m off. Even Thatch was better than this shower
Don’t do it Ben – he’s not worth it !!
too late, already hired the plasterer and he’s not cheap
I like to see some thatch in the showers
Remember that UB40 song so popular with Labour in Maggie’s time
Wasn’t it called ” one in ten”
O/T
For the record my comparison was, that when it suits the establishment to exploit a greiving mum to justify speeding tickets that is fine.
But in the case of PVt Janes mum being ‘Exploited’ by the SUN it is not fine according to No10 and the beeb.
I hope that makes things clear.
The last thing we want is for things to be clear my friend.
Thank you sir. Now forgive me while I put a bandage round my new arsehole.
Paxman last night got Mrs Janes to repeat words that made sure that Gollum was not to blame, Paxman is a senior collaborator, and by last nights’ ‘Newsnight’ a very unpleasant bully.
Just found the lyrics:
I am the one in ten
A number on a list
I am the one in ten
Even though I don`t exist
Nobody Knows me
Even though I`m always there
A statistic, a reminder
Of a world that doesn`t care
My arms enfold the dole queue
Malnutrition dulls my hair
My eyes are black and lifeless
With an underprivileged stare
I`m the beggar on the corner
Will no-one spare a dime?
I`m the child that never learns to read
`Cause no-one spared the time
How they loved that song. Now, under Labour it’s one in 5!
You sure mate? That’s about 50%. I didnt do CSE maths for nuffin.
Ah, Mr Balls must be so proud!
“Malnutrition dulls my hair”.
Slightly O/T, but have you noticed how around the world, poverty tends to be characterised by emaciation and malnutrition? Weak bony arms with no flesh? Desperate fearful eyes dulled by despair. And then, there’s Britain, where the poor are morbidly obese, eyes full of total hatred, dressed in brand new football strips, covered in gold bling and using the latest cellphone to call the taxi company? “Yeah, I’m at Asda, can you pick us up in 2 minutes? Put it on account with the social. Got two trolleys of cider to put in yer boot.”
Malnutrition is the problem. These youngsters have been fed on crap for years. They never got their necessary micronutrients that their bodies, and more especially their minds, crave.
They eat more and more to get what their brain needs. So end up obese.
Fructose syrup is a poison. The body is unable to avoid its absorption. It has to deal with it by storing it around the belly.
The food we eat is pre-digested and manufactured. It is devoid of anything useful except calories. It has the wrong balance of nutrients that nature provided and humans evolved to need.
Even alcohol is prefabricated now. In Hospitals 40 year ago they used to give half a stout to the patients at night. The properly brewed beers were high in iron and other whole natural nutrients. It avoided sleeping pills too.
It does not take long on a bad diet to effect the brain workings permanently when young.
The population does have malnutrition. BAD NUTRITION.
“It does not take long on a bad diet to effect the brain workings permanently when young.”
A stupid population is easy to exploit and control.
U callin me thikik?
Na yuz is fik init?
As Jack Straw is not very good at answering any questions levelled at him at the Ministry of Justice can I ask him publically:
What is going on in the Royal Courts of Justice relating to case brought against our government by Jersey Senator Stuart Syvret. How much is the case costing the UK Government (and us) and what are the issues?
http://liberalengland.blogspot.com/2009/10/jersey-senator-stuart-syvret-seeks.html
I have invented a fantastic tool called Google. Please use…
Thanks Jack..err perhaps not.
For your information I have heard that the costs of the case are in the region of £4 million. (That’s £4 million we may have to pay as taxpayers).
Over to you Mr Straw.
After “Googling” I found this one:
https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?postID=8666520332551953294&blogID=7124117913567332282&isPopup=false&page=2
It will be far worse under the Tories because they don’t care.Very few of them have been poor or unemployed. Most of the Tory MP’s went to public school where they paid for privilege.I really hate the fact that the young are suffering but I know that it would be FAR WORSE UNDER THE TORIES.
I secondid dat Victoria.
You’re right. It will be far worse under the Tories. Because in order to regain control of the finances so tough decisions will have to be made and we will all suffer.
It’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
But we all know who is really to blame. Don’t we?
Fucking dead right,Labour always fuck up in the end
Uk was strong in 1997, now its back to 1979.
Remember me!
I’m no fan of David Beckham but in this case I think the Sun is right. Wrong. I mean. Hell, Charlie, what am I supposed to say, I can’t read Gordon’s writing….
That’s an R, isn’t it? Isn’t it though? Random
… do you think that says sell gold or buy gold?I can’t tell either, daren’t ask him, he’s in a real mood. Sod it we’ll sell
whatever brown says-do the opposite!
he is the best contrary indicator ever seen!
buy more gold-the dollar and pound are on the way out……
Brown clearly sympathises…..own tragic circumstances……mother wrong…..glazed eyes…..very uncomfortable…..dead child…..bastard Sun
Mmmm.. Now I understand why the brain dead vote Labour. If you are basing the success of a Government on where they went to school, shouldn’t it be that those who went to better schools and therefore received a better education may sometimes offer a better administration? And if this is so, why do we have such a crap Government now because most of the senior troughing bastards in the Labour party went to public school. FFS. I live in the North West and there are estaes and estates of brain dead fuckers who would vote for a donkey if it was wearing a red rosette. For all you pricks who vote Labour…. Why vote for a party that keeps you down, dumbs down your kids education and bribes you with welfare in order to get your vote. It is no accident that the poorest areas of the UK stay poor under Labour. Think about it.
I find I don’t have the time to think.
Vote Jedward
Good, on the ball, post.
If only they had remembered me!
no it won’t.
These champagne socialists have made it much worse and still many people don’t see it. They patronise the poor and under-privileged with offers of benefits which are low and keeps them stuck in a rut without empowering them.
Look at the money Blair, Mandleson, etc… – you think they are working for the working class? Look at the homes, the holidays and the jewellery of many in Parliament. The flipping of homes, they are lucky to have one far less two.
Labour pray on those who have less, making them envious of those with more. They should be making it so that all have the same opportunities and that everyone has hope.
Refusal to provide enough helicopters and adequate troop carriers is a hell of a way to free up opportunities for youth employment.
Bastard.
Someone take the labour hoons out
Please tick the green
Please be aware that there has been a concerted effort by certain factions to skew opinions on comment boards on national newspapers.
I don’t normally vote for Mr Brown, but………….. – you get the picture
Don’t be fooled by political spinmasters masquerading as members of the public

At the very end of the day,I lay the greatest blame for this mess that is pouring over this great country of ours, well and truly upon those that plot to keep Brown in power.
That Brown is a liar,a bully,a fraudster etc is not without any doubt.
It is also without any doubt that he is in a job far,far beyond his capabilities – using so many criteria to judge his ability or otherwise,be it simply sending an appalling letter of condolence or not having just a trace of the charisma that is so necessary when leading a country – the list is a very long one.
But to actively encourage his stay in office and to blindly support Gordon Brown when surely the COUNTRY comes before this man and his patronage, that is the most repellent act.
It is an act perpetrated by his Labour Party colleagues (and a long list that starts with the Cabinet members).
But surely it is being allowed to happen by the other parties, who seem only to be trying to ensure he stays in office so as to easily beat him when he does call a General Election.
And it is being allowed to happen by We,The People – we DO have the power to create the pressure to ensure he is forced to call a General Election now and not in another time of his choosing in the coming 6 months.
And perhaps in 30 years time, historians will ask why The People did not march for their rights and demand an election.
The historians will probably conclude that The People had themselves become trodden and beaten in to submission – a submission that made them so scared of any form of protest,in case it “rocked the boat” or actually was a genuine threat to their lives,on the streets of London.
What a sad state of affairs this country has fallen to.
It hasn’t reached the tipping point yet. Most have more to lose than to gain by insurrection. When the situation is reversed, like in a major financial meltdown of the economy, and i’m talking national bankruptsy not recession, then the mob will take to the street.
And if you believe insurrection is a good thing then surely the best way to ensure it is to vote Labour and work for a massive Labour majority, if the prospect of another 5 years of this is not enough to get the British people to rise up then they don’t deserve to be called the British people.
I agree. The Labour back benchers have been watching a train wreck for some time (since Blair started faffing about whether he would serve a full term or not? get that – elected as PM – can’t be botherered to do a full term – he can’t be EU President now when he should be our PM) and they have sat there paralised. A complete joke – they have been troughing and putting their affairs in order post election and this COuntry has been left to slide for far too long. Everytime those cowards on the back benches let this trickle on, more troops die, more people are unemployed, and we owe billions more.
I hope that when Brown leaves and they all start jostling for leader of Labour all the muppets who consider voting for them remember that when things got really, really, really bad they did sod all.
Bring National Service back. That should get unemployment down.
It won’t do anything for the economy.
It’s not the number of people employed that’s important, it’s that they do something useful (i.e. demanded by their peers).
Of course if you stop punishing people for employing people and for working then employment will increase.
“It won’t do anything for the economy.”
Not necessarily. Norway, for example, has conscription. It’s one of the wealthiest countries in the world, and has very low unemployment.
They conscripted the oil.
We used to have some in the North Sea.
Let me quote the Labour Market Statistics Survey by the ONS:
The employment rate for July to September 2009 was 72.5 per cent, a fall of 0.1 percentage point on the quarter.
There was a small increase of 6,000 in the number of people in employment to
28.93 million, the first quarterly increase since May-July 2008.
Full-time employment fell by 80,000, to reach 21.26 million, while part-time employment increased by 86,000 to reach a record high of 7.66 million.
There were 997,000 employees and self-employed people working part-time because they did not find a full-time job.
This is the highest figure since records for this series began in 1992
and it is up 30,000 on the previous quarter.
Of course, I would not expect the meeja to read the facts before writing a headline.
it may not do much for the economy but what about society in general, perhaps a new generation of respectful, self disciplined youth might not be a bad thing for the country in many ways.
These 16-24 year olds are Labour’s “Education, Education, Education” generation
Education, Education, Education…..
1) Learn to sign on.
2) Learn all the daytime TV schedules.
3) Gen up on Incapacity Benefit. Bad backs are best.
lol.
They’re definitely at it again today. The keyboards in the bunker must be red hot.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1226759/DAILY-MAIL-COMMENT-How-Brown-make-amends-Mrs-Janes.html
The obvious way for Brown, the man who will cure cancer, the man who has abolished boom and bust, the man who has seen us through this ‘economic downturn which started in America and has fuck all to do with me, Gordon Brown’ is to simply ‘lay hands’ on the poor boy and raise the dead.
For a medical, economic and social genius and international statesman of Brown’s stature this should pose no problem at all.
Fight fire with fire I say. I’ve done five arrows for anti brown comments and against pro Brown comments.
Ditto.
Nick Robinson’s blog on Brown:-
‘They know that the prime minister struggles to express sincerely held emotions. They know that the Sun is out to get him and is channelling the raw grief of those who have lost family in Afghanistan to do so. It’s clear from the phone-ins, the text messages, the blogs and the like that many share that sympathy.’
Nick Robinson’s blog on Cameron:-
‘You’ve got to be kidding. That’s the reaction of many to the suggestion that David Cameron’s is the party that will do most to help the plight of the worst-off in society’
‘old Etonian’ David Cameron, get it right please
like Blair was ‘old Fettesian’. Or not.
Nick Robinson’s intro to the Cameron speech on Aljabeeba news at ten last night:
“The Eton educated David Cameron leaves his limousine to deliver a speech on poverty….”
Sorry. I shouldn’t use the term Aljabeeba. It defames Al Jazeera, which is a model of impartiality in comparison.
Model = miniture replica of the real thing
Yes I noticed that as well, all the labour lot are dead poor and went to comprehensives didn’t they…
Michael “10 homes” Meacher
Kinnock clan – Euro millionaires
Milliband – posh school ( not on merit ) IHT tax avoidance
Hoon – see top of list…
Blair – posh school now approaching Bill Gates in the rich list
Shaun Woodward – minted turncoat
Gorbals – show me the money
Harriet – as posh as Dave but thick as shit
Then we have Toilets Maguire – pretend Northener, Polly 3 homes etc etc.
The BBC, this is what we do.
Now that PRESCOTT has gone off to count his loot.I think that Brown and the government are missing his intellectual imput.
Had to chuckle to myself this morning Mandy Prince of Darkness commenting on the War in Afghanistan and the UK peoples abhorrence of it.
His comment..
“One would think the British Government were the enemy not the Taliban”.
Now let me see, broken economy, thieving M P’s and proven liars, NHS mismanagement, Law and Order failure, Education failure, Pension Plundering, scientific unpaid advisors not allowed to have any opinion other than the one the government thinks is right…and of course wasting lives in a war thats unwinnable
The Taliban must be very impressed with Westminster, doing such a fine job for them.
And you have no responsibility?
It’s clear from the phone-ins, the text messages, the blogs and the like that many share that sympathy.’
See? Carousel propaganda, fuelled by astroturfing. This is *it*. This is the fucking election strategy – the Ministry of Truth. A round the clock constant rebuttal, instant rebuttal, reality rewriting operation, using the internet to harness the most potent directing force known to man: peer pressure. Labour are attempting to suggest to carefully selected portions of the electorate that people like you think this. That will sway people. A few % will be swayed by that. We’ve got to get on this.
Dave and others cannot ignore this. The BBC cannot be permitted to get away with this radical change of editorial stance – accepting and promoting the “supposed” views of the populace as fact in articles and broadcasts. BBC producer guidelines on verifying third party information specifically state that the actual identities of all contributors to news broadcasts must be established – are the identities of those ocntributing to Nick’s blog established? Were those shown on the screengrabs last night identified?
EVERYONE, complain to the BBC now, go read the producers guidelines, pick up any hook you can. This is going to be the battleground. As I have always said, the internet will be the battleground. We – we – must counter this.
Go to work.
Guido, if you have *anything* to lever some info out of those at the hear tof this, some dissidents in Unite perhaps, some in #10, go to it now. The longer this poison runs unchecked, the more damage it will do.
But then again C4 didn’t seem to find it too hard to find sympathy for him at Wooton Bassett, which surprised me.
Just another example of Westminster Waste.
Wasted Taxpayers Cash
Wasted Soldiers Lives
Wasted Opportunity
UK GOVERNMENT= WASTE OF SPACE!
Government in general = waste of space
27……’gordon needs more time’!!!!!!!!!
how about the rest of his life in a straight-jacket in solitary?
interesting to see all the ‘pro-gordon’ posts on the net………
in every poll labour get around 25 % presently………
in the mail i would guess that he was being ’supported by 75-80 % of comments….so obviously fixed………taking lessons from karzai already………
no wonder gronon bwron supports him so much!
That scoundrel Mandelson talking on radio 4 today programme said he thought the story surrounding Mrs. Janes, reported in the Sun, was ‘unattractive’. So you think so do you mandleson? Well let me tell you Mr. Mandleson, that I find you quite the most unattractive, slimy, slithery, creepy crawly creature that the human species has ever managed to invent!
So it’s unattractive having a son with his legs blown off and bleeding to death is it Mandelson?
Does not quite fit with your Goebbels- style methods eh?
The girl who poured the green stuff over you, slimy piece of crap, is just the warm up act Mandelson.
There you have it – unattractive. Gay racism rears it’s ugly head once more: judging a person or causes ‘worthyness’ by how much it dings your dong or flicks one’s bean.
You don’t have to be gay to be a gay racist – just indoctrinated.
Where is the reference to sexual preference? I took the words to describe a Gollum type creature, which is what he is. He is closer to being the Dark Lord that asexually reproduces a new body in a cauldron using extracts from other humans.
(Sorry for the children’s books mixup)
We,The People is another example of a New labour blog troll trying to spin smear.
Any criticism of mandelson is seen as homophobic
WRONG – Mandelson is a prize chump and what he does in the bedroom is irrelevant
What, you’re saying that Peter Mandelson is homosexual? I don’t believe it. You’ll be saying the PM and half the Cabinet and Parliamentary party is homosexual next!
Yes, Barefootcontessa,
Lord Shit face is a waste of a human skin.
When Labour are kicked into touch maybe Mandelson will crawl back under the stone he came from under. He is a very unpleasant man.
And that’s only the ones who can get on the dole. If you want to try and forge a career for yourself and show any discretion about the sort of job you want to do you don’t get dole and you don’t get counted as unemployed even though that is what you are.
Spot on – my son who graduated last year couldn’t sign on because of the fact that on his 21st he got the proceeds of a savings account that his grandparents had invested over the years for him since birth for a house deposit .Therefore no JSA and the jobcentre is a joke anyway. Every job incl non-graduate and even part time has at least 70- 100 applicants and sometimes almost 1000 plus or more(a sizeable majority who have degrees or 2.1 or better !!!).The jobcentre plus are totally useless for this type of unemployed – he is “too over-qualified” for ther training courses and they tell him to search the internet jobs sites which is what he’s doing and do voluntary unpaid work – which he is. It’s a bloody joke- Three years at uni and £20k and he can’t even get a part time job !!!!!!!!!!
AND as you say he doesn’t appear in the jobless figures as the jobcentre don’t register him. Neat con eh ?
Easy just redefine the word “unemployed” to mean “unemployed Labour voters”
The rest do not count. Just pay the money to those that count to Labours future security. Instead of all those forms to fill in, they could just be honest and ask you to supply the postal vote papers.
Much simpler.
It is’nae ma fult ye un’stn!
That’s the “Jonah Curse” on the youth then.
I’m doing my bit to lower unemployment among young people.
Moi aussi.
Just clicked on this article and at the same time I heard the BBC one O’clock headlines being announced. Unemployment is up, but it’s the smallest increase for months, oh that’s alright then because it’s not as bad as last month.
Christ, they could polish a turd.
Everyone harps on about unemployment, but so few actually talk about production. We don’t even hear about unemployment AND production, just unemployment itself as if it were some variable government could tinker with from time to time. If you want more people to be engaged in the labour market, you need to stop rewarding them for not working, and stop penalising them when they do work. The government contrains production by taxing it, regulating it and subsidising inefficiency and non-work, then wonders why production is down and unemployment is high.
I don’t believe I was dreaming but…
A few weeks ago, the BBC broadcast figures for those being newly employed by the state over the last few months.
The figure was over 300,000 extra. I thought at the time, b*stards, there’s an unemployment cover up if ever I saw one. A month or two on, and Zanu are spinning that ‘adult’ unemployment is down.
Outrageous.
Guido,
You claim to be a “libertarian” and not just some tory funded front group. And yet you fail to mention that unemployment, in total, has actually fallen this month.
Call me cynical, but I don’t think you do yourself any favours on the “I’m not a tory funded smear merchant” front.
This is the coverage you probably expect in The Daily Mail
Chris – you are obviously one of these charming New Labour blog trolls employed to spread lies and half truths to discredit anyone who stands in the way of the Master Plan. If you actually read the ONS Labour market release (instead of trotting out the nasty Tory diatribe spewing from your paymaters) you would know that…..
Unemployment rose by 0.1% to 7.8% for July to September 2009 an increase of 30,000 to reach 2.46 million.
People unemployed for over a year increased by 71,000 to 618,000 (highest since Nov 1997).
Unemployment among 18 to 24 year olds increased to reach 18% (highest since records began in 1992).
People claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance increased by 12,900 on the month to reach 1.64 million, (highest since April 1997).
There were 997,000 employees and self-employed people working part-time because they did not find a full-time job (highest figure since records began in 1992) and it is up 30,000 on the previous quarter.
Average earnings for July to September 2009 rose 2.8 in the public sector and 1.5% in the private sector
THESE ARE NOT GOOD FIGURES YOU CHUMP
McGroom
Guido Fawkes, the website, and it’s users concerted campaign to try and smear liberal message boards commenters as “Labour blog trolls” is well known, and has already been fully exposed on most of these blogs you speak of. Sadly for you, the people you are trying to smear actually watch this web site as closely as you do. And your plotting on the subject is well known.
I suggest you just accept democracy. And that every liberal voter in the planet does not work for the Labour party.
The irony being, if blog trolls, and saboteurs did exist (conspiracy conspiracy) in the online world, they are much more likely to be users of sites like this.
I should state that such smears, and trouble making, to try and influence the democratic nature of message boardsare just being reported as fast as you publish , and most people with IQs over 50 are well aware of the agenda of the idiots who do it.
Being fans of smear web sites such as this. They feel duty bound to do the same on message boards.
It’s rather amusing. And even more amusing knowing that newspapers are well aware what’s going on, and you’re all getting banned.
If you want to take part in democracy, fine. If you actually want to believe that the 5-6 million Labour voters in the country don’t exist and anyone who uses message boards with labour intentions actually work for the party, then again, fine.
Please don’t try and influence democracy by spreading smears on the subject
Chris (aka Inquisition etc etc) – why did you just change your name to Nick? Stop trying to smear everyone else with your own tactics.
Now go and crawl back into the Fuhrerbunker, you imbecile…
Your users attempts to flood message boards with claims that liberal commenters are “Labour stooges” are quite pathetic.
Isn’t it the more obvious fact that the majority of the country aren’t facist, right wing loons, who actually believe in freedom of debate?I should warn, all major papers have been tipped off about this practice. And the source of the “plotting”.
If you want to just read continuous right wing bile. then just get a Daily Mail subscription. Trying to sabotage political thought, as you don’t personally agree with it is a disgrace. Liberals and right wing loons buy and read newspapers you know.
I should warn, the industry in general (in particular the newspaper forums targeted) were tipped off days ago about this practice. And the source of the plotting.
Why most of you are probably finding your comments being taken down as quickly as they go up.
Dear Nick
If you actually spent time on the site you would know that the majority of post are neither pro tory or pro Labour
Most posts rail against dishonesty and hypocrisy in any party.
New labour blog trolls have long tried to dismiss this site as a right wing hotbed because it dares to critisize Gordon Brown and the government.
Usual New labour tactics of slur and smear like labeling immigration critics racist to shut down disent.
Nick, you are being manipulated by the MSM and New labour spin, not this site
If you don’t like what is written – fuck off
The thought that anyone who puts up a “Gordon Brown is OK” message, on a message board, works in some way working for the Labour party is as arrogant, as it is loony.
As is the theory that Labour voters doing the same on this page is. You can work in any occupation and come to the conclusion that this web page’s primary role (other than a few token criticisms of the tory party) is to act as the parties primary attack dog, in regards to leaks and smears.
29% of the country votes Labour, I should remind. And claiming everything is “conspiracy” is arrogance bordering on the extreme.
I actually have little problem with these blogs. On the basis that the very fact that they have been consigned to “blogosphere” is in recognition that it should all be taken with a “pinch of salt”.
My only issue is when I go on a message board, and I’m told that my views are not my democratic right to talk how I feel on a subject, but the fact that I am some “Labour stooge, on the payroll”.
One Guido user yesterday told me that he “hoped I choke on the bungs Brown was paying me”.
I have to admit, I do find the theory that say the 8-9 million people, who have said in polls that they support Labour, are all Labour employees, rather amusing.
As is the theory that any left wing person, saying how ridiculous they think this site is (it is from a left wing point of view) is the same.
But really. Respect the fact that a minority of people in this country are probably going to have left wing views on subjects every now and then.
Why don’t you just go back to using your other names Nick? You know, Master Baiter, Inquisition, Chris etc etc?
Stop trying to pretend faux outrage while suggesting everyone else is doing exactly what you are guilty of.
Now go back to the Downing Strasse Fuhrerbunker and get your next set of instructions from MandleScum. You imbecile.
The 80/20 rule applies. The current government make 80% of the noise so get the lions share of the critic. It could reverse after the GE.
I don’t come to this site seeking comfort in extremist right-wing views. I come because I am astonished at the deceit and incompetence of our political elite. I come because I see personal freedoms being eroded – and because I am concerned for my childrens future in a country that is rapidly declining. I come because I cannot trust the MSM to get behind the story.
I tried labourlist to address these concerns and felt i was at the heart of deceit and delusion. The sea-change in blogs appearing on this site this last 24 hours only serves to confirm my fears.
I agree fully by the way.
I have no problem with opposition, or blogs like this in general. If you make nearly all the decisions in politics, you should expect nearly all the criticism.
And I’m old enough and wise enough to realise that the tories got the exact same treatement in the past, and will in the future.
it’s the oppositions right to “trouble make”. Brown was the king. As was Mandleson in their time of opposition.
My only issue arises when you get a theory that all “liberals are part of the system”. You know, as bad as things are, you are always going to get a big wad of people who hate the tory party, and are going to back Brown on message boards, no matter what the subject
Don’t make that assumption- Personally I am fed up with others telling me what is the truth, what is good for me,what I should believe and what I am thinking.
I will make up my own mind and act accordingly. I, and I suspect many others do not need your pious hectoring or a lecture on what I am supposedly thinking.
if people want to post elsewhere, good luck to them. If New Labour want to mass post, frankly who cares?
What I care about is being labelled by another in a long list of idiots.
= Nick
And you hired Galley. Go figure.
Whoops, sorry, we hired Galley didn’t we, did I say we? I meant them, they hired Galley, then fired him.
ok ok, I’m a paid political prostitute hiring myself out to the highest bidder.
slut
1) Why are HMS Forces having to buy jackets from High Street shops when the straight jackets get delivered direct to No 10?
3) Why is there a cover-up in the youth unemployment statistics of Romania and where have their youth gone?
4) Can you spell”Greatest”?
4) Can you spell “Condolences”
5) Can you spell “Colleagues”

A bit of trouble making of my own:
1: I think it’s pretty obvious Labour are doing everything in their power to “pick a fight” with The Sun. And have been doing so for the last few months.
I guess they figure, if they can tempt The Sun (it won’t be hard) into a ranting raving one way slanging match, then they can probably expose their backing of Cameron as being a bit superficial, and agenda driven.
You know – the more they rant, the less their backing of Cameron actually means. As it’s obviously biased and based on hate.
Their rhetoric very much has been “The Sun have an agenda, don’t listen”.
I think they have been very smart in subtely trying to bait the sun into rash stories over the last 2 months.
And the results are plain to see.
The Sun doesn’t need much prodding to make a fool of itself. I think the definite tactic by Labour, after the switch is to just prod the murdochs, and hope they lose all sense of class and dignity
I’ve found employment for a considerable number of youths down at Stroke Bottom in my time.
One has to do one’s bit, doesn’t one?
How to create mass youth unemployment, by G. Brown:
1. Introduce a minimum wage and set it at a higher level than the market rate for unskilled young workers. Then keep ratcheting it up every year.
2. Corrupt the educational system so that it produces ever more encouraging ‘results’ while basic educational attainment (i.e. the ability to read, write and add up) goes to hell. Encourage all school-leavers to go to university, any old place and any old course will do, which has no effect on their employability apart from giving them an inflated idea of their worth in the job market.
3. Abandon any pretence of immigration control so the country is flooded with poor but ambitious young Poles, Ukranians, Portuguese etc.
4. Jack up Employers NI and introduce a whole load of family friendly / equal opportunities policies that make it more expensive for employers to hire people. Meanwhile, keep interest rates artificially low to make it cheaper for the same employers to buy new machinery.
5. Just to finish things off, go on a massive 10-year debt binge which leaves the country in the shit.
Job done. Employers either replace unskilled staff with machines or outsource the work to India. The few jobs that are left are all taken by well-educated, hard working East Europeans, we end up with a million young people who are not only unemployed but in many cases lack the basic education to be able to do anything about it, and finally the Govt runs out of money and any chance of doing something to help the young unemployed goes out of the window.
But it’s all OK, Leftists really, really care, and the Tories don’t. So this is a nice, fluffy, cuddly kind of mass youth unemployment, not the hard, cruel kind that you would get under the Tories. At least I assume that’s why no-one is burning down inner cities yet like they did in the 1980s.
Anyone fancy a riot?
Absolutely correct on all points, however it has always fallen to our trotskyite lefties to organise riots in opposition whatever the cause.Their only real outing under Labour was the anti-capitalist rant for the G8/G20 summits.I well remember the poll tax riots and the student union leaders who took a major role in fomenting unrest. The race riots were led here in Birmingham by community “Leaders” but all were socialists
After the tories presumably take power next year, these unemployed no hopers will be ideal riot fodder for the next street battles
Stop paying them to be unemployed, it’s pretty fucking obvious!!
Guys, it isn’t socialism if taxpayer money is paid out to corporations.
It’s politicians with corporate connections, which a lot of the labour party has.
It would be socialist if ALL business was state regulated. Instead we have our taxes being paid out to PRIVATE corporations because they can put pressure on the government.
I’m not saying a soviet state is ideal, but the division of wealth and power is unbalanced in favour of a CORPORATE elite, not a state one.
The state is still incompetent though.
