WHERE’S OUR REFERENDUM DODGY DAVE? Why were you such a limp dick opposing socio-ecomonic war criminals Blair and Brown? ‘Cos you’re a part of the same scam, innit? Well, you will learn a lesson soon…

        Tapestry says:

Miliband thinks Cameron’s EU policy is dangerous and could lead to Britain leaving the EU.

Farage thinks Cameron’s EU policy is meaningless and will not lead to the UK leaving the EU.

If the experts are confused, what hope Joe Public?

If Miliband is right, Farage is out of a job.

If Farage is right, Farage can keep is job. NO wonder he’s so desperate to tell everyone that Cameron is the new bogeyman. In truth non-cooperation and non-obedience to Lisbon is the only way to go from here for the eurosceptic Conservative Party. It’s massive progress for a Party that was me-too Blair two years ago.

        2.40pm,
griffin blew his brains out on QT and you talk of voting for the cripple?
        shut up you fucking spastic.
        vote independent.
essentially all the parties are fascistic to some degree and so to vote for any political party is essentially anti-democratic.
        BE INDEPENDENT VOTE INDEPENDENT
VOTE INDEPENDENT TO SAVE OUR DEMOCRACY
this is the last chance you will have: as Lord Hailsham explained, the party system has gradually eroded our democratic principles for the parties’ benefit so that they can exist in perpertuity. the politicians have created, in front of our very eyes, an elective dictatorship. brown is a prime example, he is the manifestation of the political classes contempt for the electorate. by allowing gordon brown to remain in office the political class is openly taking the piss and sticking two fingers up at the electorate. that is why they are so angry at being called to account for thieving public funds under the guise of claiming expenses. they think, like royalty, that they are better than us, a different, higher class than the Great British Public. the truth is ofcourse that they are thieving scum shitting on the public’s faces and deserve to be lynched.
but to cut to the chase: if you do not vote independent in the next election then these cockroach party politicians will ensure the dissolution of democracy in Great Britain as they have already done in europe.
        that is a certainty.

Wrong and wrong again. Only herberts like you trying to pedal the Labour propogander to cover up what they did thought that. It was made clear time and time and time again that if ratified something else would be required if not then a referendum. What part of that simple fucking statement did you not understand?

You people make me laugh and sick at the same time. You want to get angry well get angry at the lying toerags that signed your rights away. By the way I hope you never ever voted for Labour? Not once?…. anywhere at all? even in the council elections?

          • Engineer says:

Who holds power at present? Who can authorise a referendum? Her Majesty’s loyal opposition cannot.

Who has been calling for a referendum? Who consistently promised one if they came to power before the treaty was ratified? Clearly not the governing party.

Labour manifesto pledge 2005 – referendum promise on Constitution. Difference between Constitution and Treaty? According to Valery Giscard Destaing (who wrote it) – damn all.

Labour have sold us out, not the Tories.

          • The big D says:

Engineer. I agree that Cameron was not in a position to authorise a referendum.

His position was that a referendum would be held. If held before ratification, it would be a judgment on the treaty. If held after ratification it would have to be on in or out of the EC.

The referendum was the small light in a darkening world that offered a way out of ever tightening EC regulation. The postmen, farmers and fishermen of Britain already see their future.

Cameron extinguished that light. He is reaping the reward for that action.

          • One Flew over the No 10 Bunker says:

Brown extingusished the light and all hope as well. Save your anger for the ones responsible and do not allow Labour to cause you to misdirect that anger away from them as they want you to do.

One Labour MP took the piss about the ‘cast iron guarantee’ in the house of commons and did not reflect for a second on his and his governments own treachery. See they don’t care what the fuck you think.

Keep the barrels pointing at Labour and then after they are buried we start on the others and the first in line is the EU and any troughers Tory, Labour Lib dum or otherwise..

          • Swindon_Gent says:

Yeh, well do that… put Cameroon in, then we’ll go after his torughing mates. Some hope. Id rather be honest with myself and not vote for the Tories after that Cast iron bulls**t.

          • Engineer says:

Big D. I’m as angry about Lisbon as you, but what good would a referendum do now, except as a futile gesture? The treaty is done and dusted, and there’s damn all we can do about it, apart from the long haul of renegotiating and trying to change the EU from within (and no, I’m not holding my breath either).

We’ve lost a battle, but not necessarily the war. There are too many people in this country who still think EU membership is a good thing, and don’t understand the implications for the way we are governed, and the way we live our lives. There are some who don’t care. They have to be woken up, and perhaps when reality starts to bite, they might. Perhaps public opinion will harden and coalesce; perhaps the next government might find the clamour in, say, four year’s time such that a referendum might do more good then. Going to Brussels with a 70% majority is a rather stronger bargaining position than a 53% majority.

I hate the EU in it’s current form, it just doesn’t fit with the British way of doing things. Maybe that’s it’s weakness; when people really start to see this, the current disquiet of a small majority will harden into anger of a larger majority.

          • barefootcontessa says:

            Well said.

          • barefootcontessa says:

I agree, as if that matters.

          • Ken Clarke is pissing himself laughing right now says:

let’s be clear, eurosceptics are not a fringe wing of the Conservative Party they are the large majority along with the British Public

whining that Cameron isn’t in power yet so can’t have any Policies or that the dumb kid did it too is no excuse for not having a referendum

far from being useless it would actually give the Conservatives a massive bargaining chip as the publics clear no to Lisbon would enable abrogation or even renegotiaition because as it stands now there is nothing to stop any of the 26 countries simply telling Cameron NO and that’s the end of it

it’s a eurocrat treaty not the fucking word of God
Britain is a Sovereign country and can abrogate any treaty it wishes

who will be arrested by whom for breaking any supposed legal minutia hidden in Lisbon ? that’s assuming there even are any that can over-ride the British Parlaiment and it’s Prime Minister

but the fact that Cameron can’t even promise ANY kind of referendum is the proof that he just wants eurosceptics to shut up and take it up the arse from Lisbon, Brussels, and Ken Clarkes fringe europhile wing of the Party

          • Sarge says:

            So,

UKIP can be trusted can they? What’s the plan apart from the ‘negotiate a free trade agreement’ with no explanation of how, or what risks this would bring to our economy. If we are to change our relationship with the EU it needs careful planning and implementing. I have asked UKIP this question and received no answer. I would have thought after many years of putting this policy forward, they might have an idea of how it would work. If not, they are just another bunch of shysters. Voting for them on the basis of ‘they have not kicked me in the balls yet and are telling me what I want to hear’ is plain, fucking stupid.

The vote independent brigade are also deluded. That will not give us a Parliament with 600 odd independent thinkers. It will just let Labour back in. They can depend on 20 or so % of the vote come what may.

They can also get the Lib Dem weasels to form a coalition if required.

You want 5 more years of this shit? Vote UKIP and Independent and that’s what you will get. Don’t forget UKIP might go bust before we get to an election.

Face the truth -the democratic system is completely fucked and your vote is a complete waste -whoever gets in will line their own pockets first and shaft us in the process. All promises will vanish once the votes are counted.

Oh dear Cameron has backed out of a promise. Good he has proved what he is – so what have Brown/Clegg etc done? What will king trougher Farage do? Obviously he only milked EU expenses to expose the system,so he will be donating the sums claimed to charity I presume? If nor, what has he done with them?

When will the Lib Dems be repaying the 2.4. million donation which was the proceeds of crime? Never according to Clegg.

Cameron could have brought the country to a fever pitch of protest, just as he could have done over the immigration scandal. Even the narrow interests of his own party in having its potential electoral base diluted should have turned him into an avenging angel on that score. Ditto the revelations of Labour’s entrenched communist Quislings.
What did he do? Bugger all.
As for the “cast iron” guarantee, if his get-out clause is deemed to be the second sentence of the quotation repeated so often on here, whatever hallowed alma maters he is the finished product of cannot have taught comprehension.

I said Broon is a waste of oxygen earlier in the week – and he creates an unjustifiably huge clunking fistful of CO2 which in and of itself is a danger to humanity and the planet….

Broon ought to have the CO2 pumped from him and stored in one of those ridiculous tanks underground which are planned for CO2. In a couple of hundred years time those tanks will have to be ‘mined’ for their CO2 as there will likely be a shortage of said CO2 in the atmosphere by then.

Man shouldn’t interfere with the forces of Creation and the natural order but in Broon and Bliar’s case I think God might be prepared to make an exception – if we ask nicely.

          • D L George says:

Oh come on Suky. Sucking out Zanu’s CO2 is no punishment for them at all.

Methane is the gas that drives Zanu and they’re expelling it at 1000’s of cubic tonnes per month. Although, if given a preference, I’d rather we prioritised the 100% removal of their oxygen and nitorogen.

One thing to remember about this is Labours continuous hatred of the nuclear deterrent which helped keep us safe for many years.

          Many of these scumbags were in CND and then became MP’s Joan Ruddick being the typical example and none other than Bliar hinself was a member. If we had listened to Labour we would have been defenseless as some will remember that Kinnock stated a day before the elction if he won he would recall all the polaris submarines. Most think Kinnock lost votes at the end of the hustings because of his air punching ‘Allllwright’ antics.       From childhood onwards we are taught to sell our dignity for the respect of hypocrites;

You could be right about constription. I have some friends over in the US and they have been thinking about this for more than a few years now and are really worried more so those with young sons and with Vietnam at the back of their minds.

It could be the graveyard for the politicians that introduce it of course which is why hopefully it is very unlikely. The concern is if they really start to lose in Afghanistan it would be political oblivion anyway for them so the politicians may have little or nothing to lose by doing it.

I had thought that camerons position was Eurosceptic , indeed the soventriy bill to me had an interesting prospect . If reading between the lines it will not do the business and wrest us from the cold hand of EU rule then it is still a matter of order and timing .
the lib dems would offer no change and let us slip into EU rule , goodness knows what another term of labour would be like , the conservatives are the best hope at at least governing the UK better , we can sort europe out later , the real problem is labour and lib dems stance .

Trying to weaken the eurosceptic argument by boiling the conservatives in there own liquor is counterproductive , however I do stand by the idea that if the eursceptic voices in the conservatives are being badly promised then it is an internal matter that needs to be internally secured , “not letting matters rest there” is my understanding . It isnt that hard a decision to honour , i dont fear the pro european argument only its continued inposition by undemocratic means .

This may be off message, but the Welsh Fascists are at it again. This is from BBC Wales website. Note the police said there was nothing to link the fires to Welsh extremism – well, no links they can find after a rigorous five minute inquiry.

    Warnings after deliberate arsons

Fire crews were called to two fires within 40 minutes of each incident
A warning for vigilance is issued after the cause of two house fires within a few miles of each other were found to have been started deliberately.

The advice was issued by police and firefighters on Anglesey.

On Saturday morning, crews tackled a fire in a house at Ty Croes. Just a few miles away at Pencarnisiog, another fire was reported 40 minutes later.

Both fires at unoccupied holiday homes were found to have been started deliberately. No-one was injured.

North Wales Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service launched a joint investigation into the incidents which were caused deliberately and appear to be connected.

Both properties were unoccupied holiday homes.

Police said there was nothing to suggest that the fires were related to any Welsh extremism and police are focussing their inquiry within the locality of the offences.

Anyone who knows anything about this incident should contact their local police station or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

    Treaty_About_What? says:

In answer to 272 and other moderating voices, it is true that nobody really knows what the Lisbon treaty holds in store for any of us living in this small group of islands.
None of us would be willing to scan such a vast document, most older people knowing full well that the founders of the movement i.e.. France & Germany and countries too small to do anything except fish are still the net beneficiaries (regulation nets of course).

I think some of the more independent countries, such as Spain have a slightly different attitude towards the EU project – but they have been willing to try out the Euro, despite the horrendous inflation it has caused, not to mention being relatively uncompromising on the subject of national sovereignty and other cultural sticking points that are definitely not ‘up for grabs’. They know that if all else fails the Peseta is waiting for them as a return currency.

Just reading the newspapers today, such as the Times it is very difficult not to feel an overwhelming sense of defeatism in every article. Such abject surrender would be totally alien to a new and burgeoning country such as Spain. They would not sanction such trash that we willingly tolerate out of a misplaced sense of self-effacement.

The Iberians have, moreover not banned bullfighting out of some sort of apologetic gesture towards other non-Spanish cultures: they are proud to be the people they have always been – in the face of raging unemployment and the effects of taking on foreign commitments that have made living for them both expensive and problematic.

So – in response to the question about Lisbon it would be a little misleading to say that its effect would be unequivocally bad for us. We simply do not know. Our attitude towards Lisbon, however – most of us do know already.

Perhaps when we have made fox hunting legal again and revived one or two other of our national treasured pastimes (can anyone remember what they are? – we are told weekly here what we are not allowed to do) we may be allowed to regain some of that vital confidence that the past twenty or so years has sapped from our collective psyche.

If not then we are doomed to become another boring and dull Belguim, unfortunately surrounded by a choppy sea and whipped by winds that we can not even harness for enery.

That’s why they daren’t let the people have a vote on it cos the unelected political elite know best, just like itler.

AND the Yanks and Canadians take 5 seconds to dismiss Brown’s “Cunning Plan” or a banking tax

“U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner flatly rejected the idea, as did Canadian finance minister Jim Flaherty and their Russian counterpart Alexei Kudrin.

Mr Geithner said: ‘A day-to-day financial transaction tax is not something we are prepared to support.’

He later told a news conference: ‘This is an idea that has been around for a long time.

‘Many countries have a lot of experience with the design of these kinds of taxes. I think, frankly, the experience has been mixed.’

And Mr Flaherty said: ‘We are not in the business of raising taxes, we are in the business of lowering taxes in Canada. It is not an idea we would look at.’

Mr Kudrin said: ‘I am a sceptic on such taxes. Gordon Brown is known for always raising taxes.’

The head of the IMF, Dominique Strauss-Khan, said he believed a transaction tax was unlikely to be adopted as ‘transactions’ were difficult to measure.

To work, the tax would have had to be adopted by all the world’s major financial centres.

And the British Bankers’ Association chief executive Angela Knight said: ‘The reason it has never been implemented is, while theoretically it is OK, practically it doesn’t operate.’ ”

Addict society. As long as it seems Labour will cut less than anyone else they will get back in. Voting is nothing to do with tax rates or interest rates. Too many voters never see a tax bill or an interest rate in any way related to the bank rate.

It is a hand out culture. Bonuses for banking. Expenses for MPs. Tax credits for the poor. Single parent paid housing etc. Huge promise of payments for unviable power generation. Free country wide travel. Pointless local council jobs. Local community projects/bribes.

OT perhaps but this is I think an open post.

I listened to Vince Cable and others on AQ yestreday and was struck just how spineless, British hating and indeed seemingly self-hating our political classes seem to be. It is as if they want to fail in Afghanistan so they can blame everybody else for it happening, without at all considering the consequences.

In the wake of an American panellist, who’s name I can’t even be bothered to recall who tried utterly wrongly – to compar Afghanistan to Vietnam, Vince Cable in particluar was happy to bang on about how Britian lost twice in Afghanistan and had an army of 20,000 ‘massacred’. His grasp of history, like so many post-colonial self haters, is partial.

The notable destruction of a British column on the notorius retrest from Kabul occured in atrocius conditions against overwhelming odds. Most in the column were civilians – only one British Infantry Battalion was present, the 44th. They were finally overrun when out of ammunition at Gandemack. They fought to the last man. Their stand remains fokelore – in Afghanistan – were Britsh soldiers remain respected as ‘the Sons of Lions’. Furthermore, a British columne re-entered Afghanistan the following spring and destroyed an Afghan army outside Kabul, torched the place a marched home to secure the forntier and no one bothered them. Got that Vince?

So, is the war in Afganhistan winnable? Like all wars, yes – dependent on how much effort and the level of rescources one is willign to commit. Louis XIV once asked one of his key military advisors, Baron Gibreval what was needed to be succesful in war. he replied, “Three things, sire. Money, Money and Money”.

What was appalling to me listening to Flint, Cable et al yesterday was the actual disconnect these people have with the reality of our situation and how it all ties together. To listen to them point score againt each other is nothing short of offensive given the times we find ourselves in.

To win in Afghanistan we need to first fix the economy, in order to deliver the revenues to procure and deliver the resources to fight and to win – in military, political and developmental terms.

Second, we need leadership – a loyal pro-British government in Westminster that believes in the primacy of the UK to make descisons alone and with its allies. We need a government that morally, politically and patriotically (sorry unfashionable word I know these days) – supports the Military in the conflict. What resides in Westminster at the moment is the anti-thesis of this requirment. Recent ‘revelations’ about Labours loyalties to Moscow and not ‘revelations’ to many of us. Now the Soviet Union has gone and they can’t make us Britian SSR Labour have opted for subborning us to their new masters in Brussels. A government that is not loyal to its own country and people cannot succeed in war. Labours treachery to the UK and hatred of the Military is summed up in the appointment of the current incumbent Defence Minister, one IRA sympathiser Bob Ainsworth.

Thirdly, it needs explained why we are there. No-one seems to know. The recent statement by yet another Labour minister, that it is to secure the UKs borders is so ridiculous it defies description. Thanks to a Labour government that we now know through uncontrolled mass immigartion – deliberalty committed demographic terrorism against the UK to ‘rub the Rights nose in diversity’ has ensured that a deadly enemy is already amongst us and most in constituencies voting Labour.

So three points so far. Not enough money, resources to fight as the government have wrecked the economy and refuse to fix it properly to save the country but instead their own hopelsss politcal short term position. The UK is led by a government who are as much enemies and a threat to the UK as AQ, Taleban or home grown Islamist Terror group. In other words we are fighting on three fronts, in Afghanistan, Westminster and in the Streets and Mosques of places like Bradford, Dewsbury and Finsbury Park. All the while of course, through their dismissal of Britsh Military history in effect ‘lionise’ the enemy.

And finally our own response. Five soldiers are killed in a murderous and cowardly attack. Thats war, thats terrorism. It happens. If we decided after our first defate in North Africa in WW2, “Oh dear, we had some people killed, lets bring the troops home” Well folks here is a newsflash, we’d all be speaking German now (or Russian). As a former serviceman I buried seven comrades over th course of the years and we dind’t have a Wooton Bassett. The grief of widows and fatehrless children is tangible and it is very sad. But such people do not become experts on military or geo-strategic affairs on the death of a loved one. I am quite sure that we are approaching the point where a celebrity widow will emerge, no doubt interviewed every time there is a casualty, in order to get her expert insight as to the prosecution of the war. One may even end up on X-factor as a judge. I wouldn’t wrtie that possibilty off. perhaps we may even have a “War Bereaved Commissioner” to follow the recent “Victims Commissioner”. My point being of course, in war soldiers get killed. It is sad for their families – but given our casualty levels are very small indeed compared even to the relatively recent Falklands war in 1982, then we muat ask ourselves what level of spinelessness have we fallen to as a country if we want to turn tail and run when soldiers are killed. A country that cannot sustain in war, cannot sustain as a state.

Respect for our past, respect for our forces, politcal will to fix the econmy to rpovide the resources needed to win. melded with a will to win and the leadrship to do so, to explain to the country why and to tackle the enemey here at home too. An injection of some spine. This is what is needed. Afghanisatn will always be a pretty lawless place, but managable. We can win. The alternative is unthinkable, because it is a nuclear armed Jihadist movement on the warpath.

Removing our enemey government next may is necessary to reduce the fighting from three to two fronts. At least it will be a start.

      Vietghanistan says:

Is this a comedy post ? a piss-take ? because it’s so ludicrously out of touch with what is happening in Afghanistan it must be.

“To win in Afghanistan we need to first fix the economy, in order to deliver the revenues to procure and deliver the resources to fight and to win”

The Big projects military spends which are under threat from the recession are Trident, the Aircraft Carriers and the Eurofighter. Perhaps you could explain how any of these are going to help in mountainous landlocked Afghanistan ? Or where you think we can magic up say a quarter of a million troops (roughly the same the soviets had when before got their arses booted out of Afghanistan) and the Helicopters and troop carrying equipment to keep them safe ?

“Second, we need leadership – a loyal pro-British government in Westminster that believes in the primacy of the UK to make descisons alone and with its allies. We need a government that morally, politically and patriotically (sorry unfashionable word I know these days) – supports the Military in the conflict. ”

Are you SERIOUSLY trying to imply Afghanistan is an unwinnable Quagmire because New Labour are Soviet plants ? DO fuck off and have that tin-foil hat looked at.

The Political Leadership needed is in AFGHANISTAN. One that isn’t a corrupt fraudulent Taliban recruiter. Sorry chum we’re stuck with the sleazy Mayor of Kabul for another 4 years so that ain’t gonna happen. If you think a new twat in number 10 waving a Union Jack every time he talks about Afghanistan is going to turn this around you are equally delusional.

“Thirdly, it needs explained why we are there. No-one seems to know.”

      Including you.
You think Cameron or anyone else is going to pull a magic justification out of their arse do you ? Not going to happen. The public knows the so called ‘justifications’ don’t stack up and after 8 years it’s too late now to make any new ones up.

“And finally our own response. Five soldiers are killed in a murderous and cowardly attack. Thats war, thats terrorism. It happens. If we decided after our first defate in North Africa in WW2,”

It’s terrorism committed by the very Police that are supposed to be being trained to take the British Army’s place. So it highlights how fucking far from reality that is and the kind of thugs and militia some are pretending could enforce Law in the country instead of taking bribes, taking drugs, robbing, commiting violence on the population and generally ensuring the Taliban are welcomed rather than hated.

“An injection of some spine. This is what is needed.”

A stiff upper lip. Yeah right Colonel blimp! That will turn around a viscious insurgency in a country of some 38 million with a corrupt Government.
      Jeeesus Christ!

This isn’t World War 2 though it has gone on longer.
It simply doesn’t have any clear aims, moral imperative or coherent exit strategy.
The public were behind the Falklands and World War 2. They aren’t behind this disasterous mess.

“The alternative is unthinkable, because it is a nuclear armed Jihadist movement on the warpath.”

And you certainly haven’t put very much thought into that.

The insurgency is Afghanistan is about Afghanistan which contains no wepaons of mass destruction.

The insurgency are not global jihadists but consist of Pushtun seperatists, Warlords, tribal leaders, religious councils, Tajiks, drug kingpinbs and many other disperate factions the lazy like to lump into a fictitious homogenised Taliban. They are united by wanting foreign troops out of their country and a corrupt Government in Kabul.

The faction in the northeast border provinces of P-stan have always been obsessed by P-stan because most of them were trained and funded by the P-stan ISI.
P-stan has Nuclear Weapons not Afghanistan. If we want to stop them from falling into extremist hands continuing to destabalise P-Stan by supplying more and more radicalised Afghans from the occupation into the extremists hands seems a bit dumb.

If you want to help P-Stan then put the case for troops in P-Stan because fighting in Helmand is a very long way from that fight.

But you continue living in a dreamworld because the reality is Britain’s strategy is being decided in the US right now. If Obama pumps more troops in as expected then Cameron has 5 years of this pointless carnage to try and turn around with public relations spin. His only other choice is having his own Policy on the War and setting a withdrawall date which some on his back-benches are urging right now.

Brown’s political career started the evening he carefully loaded two house bricks and some empty cans into a carrier bags and set out into the night to defraud his fellow students, going to a social gathering drinking beer paid for by others whilst he contributed a bag of nothing.

Since that evening, his lies have grown exponentially to a point where the numbers are actually too big ……………. a global tax on financial transactions?

Brown is a fraudster, a liar, a sneak, a cheat and a failure

On the contrary, he’s digging himself and the Tories out of a hole. The MSM would have loved to be able to beat the Tories over the head with the Euro stick come the election. The battle for getting us out of Europe has been lost, but surely the war goes on. In fact ‘Europe’ as a concept will crumble in time of it’s own inertia, just as surely as the Soviet Union did. Centalising socialists don’t really get how the real world works.

We should re-open one of those fantastic old Victorian Mental Hospitals, you know, the ones that sat rotting behind a screen of diseased Elms, and strap him onto a long-disused bench in an abandoned ECT suite. We could then take turns in administering dynamo-loads of fizzing, popping leccy to his nasty brain. I’d like to bring along some vile New Labour neighbours of mine, too. See if they’d also like some action.

Now here’s a true story about one of the huge mental institutes – I was a salesman back in the mid ’80’s and we had the contract for the NHS/MOD to supply cooking oil etc.

I visited one of the Mental Hospital’s in Hertfordshire – was it Leavesdon?

I met the Catering Manager and wrapped up the visit, returning to my car in the hospital car park, where I sat and wrote my notes.I looked up and in the rear view mirror,I saw a manhole in the car park lifting up.

I sat transfixed as I saw 3 men pull themselves up out of the man hole ,replace the cover and walk off.

To this day,I have no idea who they were – contractors, staff, inmates?

Most of those places have been turned in to elegant apartments – perhaps one of them could be re-opened for the whole of the Labour cabinet.

Of course Brown deserves his own wing – not the “West Wing” – more like “The Detested Wing”.

I think that today, at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month should be for rememberance, nothing more, nothing less. The fallen should be remembered for their sacrifice, this is not a time to pass comment on the participants. This is a day when we should remember the fallen. My family lost loved ones in the first world war and the second world war, and this is the day, we think of them and their comrades, the Cenotaph ceremony is very humbling.

It’s very humbug too! I love to see the brave men who were conscripts in the first and second world wars, and the other heroes. But to see men in long black coats who have been responsible for starting wars, illegal wars, and thus responsible for their deaths makes me mad. They are 100% hypocrits. Also I think innocent people who are killed during the course of war should be remembered.

If you read your history, the Armistice Treaty was signed in a railway carriage in the Compiegne Forest on 11th November 1918 to come into effect at 11am, that is what I was referring to. I do not want to be dogmatic about the moment. To some it means something to others it means nothing, it depends who you are. It means a lot to me and my family. As I am sure you know that the ceremony falls to the first Sunday in November, that is why it is the 8th today.

It comes as no surprise that in the run up to our election, UKIP MEPs are being targeted by Europe in financial investigations. Labour pulling strings again?

Given that Europe has produced no properly audited accounts for years, this tactic is a little obvious; are UKIP the only suspicious characters in Europe?
