dont know if you noticed but the High Commissioner for India as he waited at the cenotaphe to lay his wreath was chewing gum. I just say this as it puts everything else into perspective also thought that Dimbleby did a brilliant job of knowing the power of silence during his commentary....as for politics the whole afghanistan situation stinks if the terror threat according to our unelected prime minister is in the hills and mountains

That's your opinion.

There are other opinions...

http://www.global-vision.net/distinctive.asp

You don't have to be in the EU to be successful, take a look at Norway, it's one BIG success story.

Perhaps then we can do something along the lines of
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norway_and_the_European_Union
and be a part of
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Economic_Area
and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Free_Trade_Association

Let the voters decide, and abide by it. We all know we blew it last time, and boy! Are we paying the price.

Oh! and let's get rid of that recently so well caught out buffoon from the Conservative front benches, Ken Clarke. I don't care if he takes a golden handshake as long as he goes and takes his sorry, badly prepared and thought out opinions with him. Let's pray he doesn't write an autobiography.

Who cares?

Our future is in the EU.

If the Tories are stupid enough to encourage a baying mob of half-baked public opinion to withdraw us from the EU, the UK is finished.

We are not capable of maintaining our standards of living alone – we produce nothing of value except toxic financial assets, which are already en route to Zurich as we speak.

Wake up Britain, stop dreaming, and get with the EU programme.

This is the typical double speak of the left. Orwellian.
Dont vote to destroy the country and you are destroying the country.

I assume you voted in '05?

Unless you lived in Sedgefield constituency you didn't vote for Tony Blair, you voted for your local MP.

If you did live in Sedgefield then you voted for him as a member of parliament, not as PM.

If you're going to whine, at least be aware of what you're voting for...

Hmmm... interesting.

Tho one thing that is constant about Labour is that they want Britain ruled by someone else.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1225637/How-Kremlin-hijacked-Labour-Diary-Kremlin-insider-reveals-hold-Soviets-Labour-politicians.html

I think the only difference between then and now is Labour have changed their allegiance from Russia (how sad for them was perestroika) to the federal socialist state of Europe.

It seems we have all been duped, sadly Cameron believes this is what we want. Way to go, Dave.

Blair would have been a gift for the pro-democracy team. Every time he was on telly as Prez of the EUSSR people would have hated the Lisbon betrayal more.

The Chamberlains trying to stop Blair is what made me think they were going to break their word.

"The one thing that is constant is that conservatives believe in furthering the national interest."

No. That's wrong. Close, but wrong. The one thing that is constant is that conservatives believe in further <I>the british state</I>. That is because the one thing they seek is to be in power of that, and all else is subservient to that - ideology, principle, care for self or others, all that matters is their preservation of an electoral coalition that allows them to rule these islands.

The <I>national interest</I> lies in ending this ridiculous schism with the rest of our European family, and in fighting to preserve it, conservatives betray that they care nothing for that national interest, but merely for the continuity of the status quo, and their own petty cares.

The signing of the Lisbon treaty most certainly was illegal.

A promise, (look that word up to find out what it means) was reneged on by an unelected pm and his arselicking sidekick minigland without so much as a by your leave.

If you bother to go back and have a look, youll plainly remember that this pair of gay felchers snuck in the back door ( how apt) when everyone else had buggered off home in the hope of not being noticed whilst writing the words "FUCK YOU BRITAIN!" in great big words across the democratic process here.

They had absolutely NO entitlement to sign me up as a "european", i am ENGLISH, born of ENGLAND.
My consent was never given to enslave me and deny me a right to self determination.
I never signed a fucking thing and i never gave permission to be sold like a piece of livestock to a european owner!

How can such an act ever be considered "legal" in any civilised state in the world? Especially when the "pm" such as this fat shambling coward is and has absolutely no mandate, being as he is- UNELECTED!

I shall shortly be committing an act of treason against a european flag with a box of matches and a large firework.

Vote UKIP.
