I think the only difference between then and now is Labour have changed their allegiance from Russia (how sad for them was perestroika) to the federal socialist state of Europe.

That is because the one thing they seek is to be in power of that, and all else is subservient to that – ideology, principle, care for self or others, all that matters is their preservation of an electoral coalition that allows them to rule these islands.
