Let’s get a MILLION signatures.

I won’t change my union as they don’t only talk of pay and strikes – that’s just all you get to hear about. My union has been extremely supportive of me in an ongoing battle against management when I said enough’s enough and refused to prioritise bullshit over work I felt was of some benefit to my students.

And don’t expect it to get better when education is ‘privatised’. Those ‘values’ are creeping in already and that’s the root of the problem – under the Tories it will get worse.

I’m just so weary of the view that the public sector is all bad and the private sector the way forward. I could list dozens of example of goods not fit for purpose, shite service -whatever – from private companies. Of course it makes a difference when it’s your money that’s being spent but privatising public services won’t necessarily make them better. Look at the SATS debacle, for one ‘education’ example. Glad as I was to see the back of them, it was a private company that fucked them up. Not that the Government dared come clean. What we need is the best of both worlds, and managed so that the public aren’t ripped off as they have been so far in many cases through PFI.
