I’m expecting and hoping that a Labour win at the next general election will nuke the nationalists and corrosive Tories. Purpose and unity strike me as being more useful than indulging those egoists and vested interests.

David Cameron retreats on European referendum

        • Boris Johnson claims no rift over call for public vote
        • Decision may bring Blair presidency closer
        • Party will attempt to claw back UK powers

David Cameron has ruled out any possibility of a referendum on the Lisbon treaty if the measure is ratified by all 27 members of the EU before next year’s general election in Britain.

Amid signs the measure will enter EU law by the end of the year – as the Czech Republic and Poland indicated over the weekend they will fall into line – Tory sources admitted that Cameron will not try to unpick the treaty’s main reforms.

            Saw this on Toenails blog:

So much effort from Mr Robinson and friends to get Mr Cameron to reveal his tactics for Europe. I think this is a smokescreen to hide the real issue: time is running out. We will soon have no time left to stop the ratchet falling, and we will be in a Federated State of Europe, ruled by an unelected President. Time will run out unless there is an early election that replaces Europhile Labour with another government.

The British people have been denied the right to choose their future. Ratification of a treaty that changes the British constitution to this extent should have been the subject of either a referendum or an election. The newspapers this week have been full of stories that suggest Tony Blair might become president of Europe. President!

I’m disgusted that Mr Mandelson has already become the unelected most powerful man in Britain, but also his friend Tony will be the unelected most powerful man in Europe! What next? Alistair Campbell for Pope?

Now is the time for Her Majesty the Queen to take action: dissolve parliament and decree that there should be both a general election AND a referendum – BEFORE a bunch of people in Europe change this for us forever. Poll after poll in this country has shown that the people oppose ratification. Poll after poll now shows that the majority of the population want rid of Labour. Her Majesty would be fully justified in taking the step toward dissolution, so that we can decide whether to live in her realm or that of “King Tony.”

Maybe we should all March on London? Anyone like to choose a date?

I’m up for it. I think now is the time to take to the streets.

If we are drawing up our own referendum it would have been issues stretching back to the treaty of Rome. Plainly the other member states want to go further than we do. We are in the business not of preventing others from embarking on deeper integration, but withdrawing from those parts we do not want to be part of.”

            Who’s laughing now twat ?

Or do you not take Dan Hannan seriously either ?

You should check out labourlist again – they’ve resurrected the real Charles Hardwidge and he’s in full mental flow about Tao, fidelity, how he would run liebour, snappy but meaningless management speak and the mandatory dig at the Tories for good measure.

This gumby is hilarious – complaining bitterly about being impersonated on this site, often stating he’s going to sue for libel for anyone mentioning it as well – lol!

He really is the epitome of the expression: “all mouth and no trousers”.

Everything he says is designed to lead the hard of thinking into the view that he is an all powerful, self-made business hero. The reality is he’s a dysfunctional nerd with poor people skills, permanently unemployed, bitter (hence the constant anti-Tory rhetoric and liebour sympathising), ludicrous, clown-like, delusional fuckwit who’s only claim to fame is that people take the piss out of him by impersonating him on other blogs.

As an afterthought one wonders if they thought we all were behind this why such a clause had to be inserted anyway. They know we are not (France, Holland, Ireland etc) so they had to insert it. Democracy at work you see which was basically the point made.

The BBC line that the Tory Party conference is in a state of civil war over Europe is yet another example of the BBC reporting what they would like to be happening not what has actually happened. Totally agree. Just caught an interview this morning on GMTV with Michael Gove re incapacity benefit and the interviewer had ‘nasty party’ stated in the first sentence and inturrupted continuously any answers given. I watched the same interviewer last week and none of this occurred.

Interviewers are there to report not to invoke bias and this interview was a disgrace and not one answer did we get. I am all for rigorous interview techniques but when only one party seems to be singled out to be excluded from this it becomes an affront to democracy itself something the Labour party is well versed in I suppose.

Let’s face it – getting an extra half million of the long-term sick back into work needs half a million extra job vacancies. Tories have to ask themselves “Do we want to win?” If the answer is ‘yes’, then:

    1) Shut up about the EU. Nobody apart from other Tory hardcore members and Labour propagandists is listening.

    2) Relentlessly point out how crap Brown and Labour are. It’s true, so why not say it? Keep referring to “Labour’s recession” and “Labour’s banking crisis”. Yet, at the same time:

    3) Be nice. Few people become enthusiastic about cutting things or ‘cracking down’ on people. Show that you actually like the electorate.

    4) Don’t have too many policies. Have attitudes instead. You want voters to feel good about voting Conservative. Try to look competent, honest, decent and above all connected.

If the answer is ‘no’, just keep fighting for a party that entirely agrees with every one of your own precious opinions and is therefore unelectable.

‘The UK Independence Party believes that the UK should withdraw from the European Union and that our membership should be replaced with a genuine free trade agreement similar to those enjoyed by other non-EU nations such as Switzerland, Norway and Mexico’

So,by withdrawing from Europe now, why would the EU negotiate any new agreements with us? They could put up trade barriers? What about EU funded projects currently underway? Do we give the money back?

I am no fan of the EU but UKIP need to explain exactly how they would effect withdrawal and what it would mean. If they do not know, then we are being spun another story.

A simpler route would be to refuse to acknowledge and contribute to the EU until the accounts are signed off. What right thinking PM could allow billions to go to an organisation without effective financial controls?

Well yes – I dont’ know why this is coming as some kind of surprise? We cannot *legally* leave the EU other than with the consent of other members. Our own governments have agreed to this.

Does this mean we can’t leave? Hell no. We just tell them to fuck off. Twenty years ago this week, a few other nations decided to take back their own identity against much greater odds – against tanks and assault rifles.

Our greatest enemy is not the EU, it is our fellow citizens, and their descent into shallow eternal ignorance.

For there is nothing else you can offer us. Dave is a genuinely decent human being who would make a very good social worker. Unfortunately as Napoleon’s Ghost, The Kaiser’s Ghost and Adolph Hitler’s Ghost are stalking Europe, David will not be a lot of use to us right now when we need King Alfred and Churchill to come to our rescue.
Cameron, unless he addresses the issue of LISBON TREATY REFERENDUM will win but he will have a small unworkable majority in Parliament. This will not matter as all of our laws will then be stamped on our faces as Brussels herds us through the microchipping stations but once a Parliament has true British patriots in it, we will withdraw from the increasingly fascist and Evil Union. I would rather vote for any party than the one which has consistently sold us down the river from the days of Red Ted Heath through to Ken “I never read the Maastricht Treaty” Clark to Mrs (I trusted Geoffrey to tell me what was in the Treaty”) to the simpleton Major who is now rewarded with a massive job and pension by his Minders. And Cameron? A media spin artist who will get the verges cut and erect speed limits (In kilometers of course) as Britain finally dies, buried under a mountain of red tape and the filth of treason.

David Cameron threatens the genuine poor, the disabled and chronically sick and tars them all with the same brush.

What a nasty little policy statement/ threat this is; to hit the weakest and poorest first by attacking all people who receive incapacity benefits no matter how ill or disabled they are and make everyone including genuine claimants feel like unwanted leapers, spongers and criminals; talk about tarring everyone with the same brush! He doesn’t mention the reality i.e. that anyone receiving incapacity benefits will have had to have paid full national insurance contributions for a minimum number of years, also to have completed at least one 20 page detailed questionnaire, have seen their GP on numerous occasions and sent to the incapacity Jobcentre Plus government department, several medical certificates, not to mention the full physical examination and interview by a Government approved medical professional. So it is no easy task to qualify for incapacity benefit as Mr Cameron is trying to make out.

I would like to ask Mr Cameron if this is the kind of callous Conservative party we can expect if he manages to win the next election? Help the rich and attack the sick, disabled and the poor. You are starting to sound like a spiteful bully, already targeting the weakest British citizens first; kicking them whilst they are already down on the floor.

Well thank you for that Mr Cameron, it is now becoming more clear of what kind of Conservative Government you will lead; should you win the next election.

You have just managed to lose millions of potential votes; in your callous new ‘bullying’ policy statement.

Have you felt the same hurts and pain?

    We’ve lived different lives,

I’m surviving the trials of everyday living.

And that my painful journey is near its end.

    Depression

Down, down I feel so low.
Trapped in a tunnel, with nowhere to go.
Cut myself off from all my friends,
I’ll work this out in the end.

    Dark, dark that feeling inside…
Nothing looks good; I just want to hide.
There must be some people in whom I can confide,
Understanding friends, who are on my side?

One day at a time is what I hear,
No need to live life full of fear.
Do you really need that anti-depressant pill?
With hindsight every mountain becomes a molehill.

Don’t give in to this dark mood,
Fun and laughter can be your food.
Love yourself and say, ‘I am what I am.’
Ignore this hard world you know you can.

Just take the time to work this out,
To overcome a life full of self doubt.
Jesus loves you, the way you are.
You are unique, you’re a star.
