Didn’t many cabinet ministers say they would give Gordon until the party conference to turn things around?  Well he hasn’t turned things around.  Trouble ahead…

The problem is no-one in this Parliamentary Labour Party has guts, otherwise they’d have removed gordon long since.

What difference is that going to make to the price of fish in the market?

Quite a lot if, after his resignation, the PPS in question decides to open a discount fish stall.

Because when the blackhead on the Labour boil is popped, the Conferance will be covered in pus. We will be regaled with plots, denials, counter denials, John Prescott, the revenge of the ex-cabinet femifascists scorned, Aunt Harriet denying any leadership ambitions. Postman Pat denying he has any leadership ambitions and Mandy denying everything,The media will be there not to praise Brown but to bury him and searching for the wooden stake to finish the task so their paper can claim it was them wot dun it. Best of all, nobody will be in the least bit interested in Labour’s fantasy plans for a new utopia.

The Labour Party is scared stiff of Brown. Nobody in the party has got the guts to tip him out of Number 10.

    nell says:

Hmm Parliamentary Private Secretaryies are already rather thin on the ground. There are at least 12 PPS vacancies because gordon couldn’t muster enough people to fill them – translates as gordon struggles to find people to work for him. Can’t think why.

In fact the number of vacancies might be much higher because the Whip’s office has refused to confirm what the actual number is.

Just saw an astonishing piece of Brown idiocy on my local news (BBC points west). He was meeting some Homeless girl (on the streets since she was 13, bright, but not much education ) doing his usual friend of the poor routine when he asked her where she lived now. She said ‘in a car’…’In a car’ he repeated eye(s) glazing slighty……Shocked by this sort of thing happening in his socialist paradise pure waffle came out of his mouth, for what seemed an age, followed by policy-speak ..new house building programme….planning procedures…x percent increase in etc etc…’ . Then, of course, she glazed over.

It got better when it emerged after that she didnt have clue who he was. One of the only fringe benefits of living on the streets.

(It will be on this page at some point later, about 15 minutes through
