And a dangerous one at that. Anti free speech. Tried to outlaw free expression and subvert the First Amendment by smearing anyone who criticised the UN as ‘hatemongers’.
Instrumental in the Bill now awaiting the President’s signature that will be the final nail in the coffin of free speech in the US. After that, you’ll only be able to make pro-immigration, pro-multiculturalism remarks. Dear old Ted won’t be missed behind this keyboard.

Whilst it’s obviously a sad time for his friends and family, I find it hard to feel sympathy for the death of a major IRA fundraiser who supported the terrorist organisation during one of their worst periods of death and destruction.

His legitimising of the IRA, along with the massive amounts of money and weapons his fundraising contributed, resulted in the death of many innocent men & women.

He may rest in peace, but I certainly won’t be shedding any tears.

      Chairman of the Bored says:

The BBC almost made him a saint on the Toady programme this morning. They even referred to his father as an “industrialist”.

Death is always sad on a human level but he was no friend of Britain. His (and the BBC) comments over the Chappaquidick affair largely centered around the end of his career, not M-J C..

Arguably the least dangerous of the Kennedy “dynasty” but only because he never achieved a position of significant executive power; almost a given, with his name, that he would always be a jobsworth senator and a key member of the political classes.

Or simply did the curse of Jonah Brooon sink him with the recently bestowed honour…for his services to the UK…?

The republic has long fallen. The privately owned fed tells the president what to do, not the other way round – as with the privately owned, so called bank of England. The money changers are in the temple and there is no one to cast them out.

        • 318
          Longshanks says:

Its a much deeper institutional ‘common purpose’ than just the money changers. The miitary industrial complex and corrupt politicians have contributred to the establishment of the self censorship media that currently exists. For example posting some histoical facts as to why germany reacted the way it did in the run up to the ’39-’45 war and you’ll be moderated as I was on an earlier post.

This is not an aspirational handle says:

It looks like Icelanders might be the first – repaying (or not) depositors in Iceland’s crashed banks.

The government were all set to cave into pressure from the IMF, the EU, and McSockpuppet, but the parliamentary bill was amended under popular pressure to make repayments conditional on economic growth. This is a really important story that is being buried by the MSM, and Google is returning links that are 10 days out of date. The latest position (from http://www.whatson.is/icelandreview/daily_news/?cat_id=16567&ew_0_a_id=338089) is this:

The majority of MPs in the Icelandic parliament, Althingi, approved the proposed amendments to the government’s bill* on state guarantee on the borrowing of the Icelandic Depositors’ and Investors’ Guarantee Fund to compensate Landsbanki’s Icesave depositors in the UK and the Netherlands late on Friday night…

The disclaimers that were added to the agreement between Icelandic, British and Dutch authorities on Icesave include that economic growth determines the annual down payments of the loans from British and Dutch authorities and that no payments will be made if economic growth is halted.

The full background is here: http://www.counterpunch.org/hudson08182009.htmlWhy Iceland and Latvia Won’t (and Can’t) Pay for the Kleptocrats’ Ripoffs

Read it before the propaganda machine gets to you.

Here was a man who was a serial womaniser. So much so that his wife became an alcoholic.
A man who drove his car into the water, escaped and left a young woman to drown. He only reported the accident the next day before first seeking legal advice.
A man who, with his US/Irish connections, not only supported the IRA cause but also helped raise millions of dollars in New York and Boston. This money helped fund the killing of British civilians and military.

Universal Healthcare… Agreed it will always be imperfect, and if you mean care that works out grade one excellently for everyone probably there is no such thing, but working towards a system as close to it as possible must surely be worthwhile.

Kennedy a weak and unattractive man maybe (I can see why so many want to counter the all the hagiography today) was at least working towards improving the crapulous healthcare system in the States: superb in parts and non existant in others.

The average life expectancy in the USA is lower than that in a whole tranch of poorer countries, with 46 million people, many of who are children, not covered at all by insurance. Insurance companies make a vast deal of profit out of those who are taken on by them, and many get-out clauses don’t cover you for this that and the other disease, esp chronic illnesses, and ‘pre-existing conditions.’ The US system costs twice as much as our NHS (I’m only too aware of NHS imperfections… and Guido made ref to an excellent article in the Independent pointing them out to left of centre persons who don’t admit it.)

Cameron is right to be looking at France and other European countries (and IMNSHO Australia) for mixed systems which come up with the goods for more people and in a less costly way.

Barefoot, I’m glad it is possible to express an opinion, not the most common one on a topic of the moment, on here without getting a ton of abuse.

    There is an heir..

    William “Kennedy” Smith

The incident began on the evening of Good Friday, March 29, 1991, when Smith, then 30 years old, was in a bar (named Au Bar) in Palm Beach, Florida with his uncle, Senator Ted Kennedy, and his cousin Patrick Kennedy. Smith met 29-year-old Patricia Bowman. Patrick became acquainted with Michelle Cassone, another young woman at the bar. The four then went to a nearby house owned by the Kennedy family. Smith and Bowman walked along the beach. She alleged that Smith raped her; Smith testified that the sex was consensual. Although three women were willing to testify that Smith had sexually assaulted them in incidents in the 1980s not reported to the police, their testimony was excluded. Smith was acquitted of all charges.

Mr(save yourself and cover your arse)Kennedy who would far rather have a chat with his lawyers, take a shower and make sure his BA level was back to normal than actually tell anyone that his partner was drowning in a river, what a way to go, freezing and suffocating to death in the dark while expecting rescue to arrive while all the time Mr(Im alright Jack)kennedy was getting his excuses straight with his lawyers.
Meanwhile people like Obama and Brown laud him as some kind of Churchill figure and saviour of the people, the nature of the political classes can be seen clearly!

I hope he died in as much discomfort as his victim who wasnt granted the grace of having family around her when she died, has anyone at the BBC interviewed the relatives of the young lady who Mr(compassion is my middle name)Kennedy did so much to help kill.

    Here lies Ted
Who was alive and is dead
    Had it been his father
    I would much rather
    Had it been his brother
    Still better than another
    Had it been his sister
No one would have missed her
Had it been the whole generation
    Still better for the nation
    But since `tis only Ted
Who was alive and is dead
There`s no more to be said

I can’t believe all you people are so out of touch with the national mood of mourning as broadcast by the State Media. You must all be wrong.

Just because Saint Edward was cowardly and supported the IRA killing innocent people, doesn’t mean that he didn’t have good intentions from time to time, like any good socialist.

His name will join the roll of US politicians beginning with Washington and Jefferson who have developed such remarkable abilities of cant and hypocrisy.

Let’s hope he rests with his cronies, but I can’t imagine Martha wanting him in her Vineyard.

Relieved to find that I’m not the only hard ass left (please no “left” puns) in the USA. Two things that would make this occurrence more palatable.
    1)Mary Jo’s Dad’s foot stickin’ up this idiot’s ass

    2) Someone admitting that he was as close to a “lion” as Mutumba was.

Just another wart hog on the plains of politics nothing close to a lion… Sorry for his kids… glad to relieve his dumb ass constituents that kept electing him. God Speed… really… speed! HURRY your ass out of this dimension, Ted.

    RIP

Teddy Kennedy, coward, drunk, terrorist supporter, philanderer, a college cheat, braggart son of a bootlegger and Nazi sympathiser. That’s enough to get an honorary knighthood from a sleazy bloated megalomaniac with Stalinist tendencies who shares the same objectives of destroying the United Kingdom and any remaining vestiges of democracy.
