Why Sarah Brown Won’t Emulate Michelle Obama

rsz_sesame-street-oscarEven though she is being cynically used to humanise Gordon via Twitter, her blog and a raised profile, Guido thinks there is no need for Sarah Brown to go on Sesame Street.

She already lives on Downing Street with a Grouch…

She needs to save all the good material for her memoirs in case his don’t sell.

P.S. Cameron should welcome the proposal for a High Pay Commission with open arms. It used to be called the Top Salaries Review Board and was used to wind up the pay of those at the top of the Public Sector and the Quangocracy by giving them parity with those running UK-based multi-nationals or risk businesses – whether or not the latter had any pension rights at all.

Meanwhile Towers Perrin et all played a similar game with the remuneration committees of the latter.

The time has come to continue that game – winding the salaries down with the comparisons set to zero if the private sector reference point has gone bust – and pension rights valued in full.

Surely that should be ‘WHEN’ his don’t sell? ‘Courage’ book is in all the remainders bookstores with the price steadily going down…..down……down.

I used to feel desperately sorry for Sarah Brown but since her ‘introduction’ at the Party Conference last year I reckon she’s tarred with the same brush as McSnot.

Continuing from yesterday’s blog by Guido – where’s the bould, brave Gordon now the shit is hitting the fan over the release of the Lockerbie bombing? And Mandelsnake? Both of them cowering away in the dark – Mandelsnake even using the excuse of ill health (Nothing trivial I hope your Lordship?). If ever there was just one moment that defined above all others why James Gordon Brown should not be PM, this is it. Gordon’s theme song for Conference should be ‘Coward of the Country’.

Couldn’t you just see Churchill taking his holidays during Dunkirk? Or making himself uncontactable during the Battle of Britain? That’s what Gordon would do.

Knowing how devious Mandelson is, can one be sure that the Turp`s operation ( Transurethral Resection of the Prostate ) was carried out as necessary or was it a ploy to become the cynosure? At any rate his newly bestowed nickname of `TURPS` sums up his oleaginous character.

      Hard Job says:

This morning’s visit to the loo was unusually protracted – one of those massive bloogers which take forever and ever. In the end it turned into a scoop-it-out job, you know the ones I mean, a couple of fingers tugging around the rim, while the other hand tugs at the bit just about protuding. After a bit more grunting and tugging things start to move, you’re not pulling it out exactly, and pieces breakaway, but it gets the job done after a fashion.

It’s a bit like trying to get the Labour Party out, and they probably need a helping hand.

Some question my logic without realising the long game, It’s a good job my father raised me as a son of the manse with a strong moral belief of forgiveness.

I have bettered and helped my fellow man in the great United Kingdom for future generations with shrewd moves but I am a modest man and do not look for praise.

I even managed to find a small amount of spare time to step up to the plate to help the world in it’s time of need as a testament of the great British spirit within us all to help the needy in their hour of need.

By looking out for my fellow countrymans interests i’ve insured by the time the next world recession comes about we will have passed it completely as we will still be in this recession. Thus enabling us to emerge a stronger nation while others will be sliding down the slope.

Yes I have taken the country a step back in order to take this country two step’s forward.

I know, I know i have heard the gasps of astonishment amongst senior and world respected figures and economists and leaders at such a genius move, I merely smile and carry on strengthing this great countries position for the future.

I do not ask history to call me a genius or to heap praise for being the greatest labour party leader and prime minister in the history of this fine country,or for being a world statesman and economic genius oh no, for the truth of the matter is, There’s no flash, I’m just a simple and humble man called Gordon.

Thank you for your ears fellow countrymen and women and transgenders and asexuals and other ethnic miniorites.

      Abolish the Licence Fee says:

Sorry, Sukyspook, the State has decided that normal parents cannot be trusted to bring up children. They interfere with the message the BBC has been trying to put across about equality and tolerance and the worst offenders in this respect are the middle class – the ‘chattering classes’ – who remain stubbornly set in their conservative ways. They refuse to embrace change and are standing in the way of progress. Hence families must be broken up. It’s the only way forward and the ends justify the means. The State will make a far better job of shaping our children’s minds. You’ll see.

        Engineer says:

The point about nuclear power station construction lead-time is valid, but we do not need to build more gas-fired stations, about 40% of our existing capacity is gas-fired.

We could, fairly rapidly, build high-efficiency supercritical coal-fired stations. A lot have been built and are operating in China, and many of those are British-designed (Doosan Babcock). There would be some harrumphing from the green lobby, but as the new stations are replacements for less efficient existing stations, this will fade.

Completely agree Mr Engineer. • 75
          Engineer says:

          Engineer says:

One additional point – Moley’s post at 11:38 a.m. mentioned building more gas-fired power stations. We may not need to build more, but a secure and lasting fuel supply for the existing ones will be no bad thing, and we have to consider the industrial heating and domestic markets must be supplied to. We currently import from the gulf, and try to avoid reliance on the other source from Russia. Diversity of suppliers would be sensible.

More than 30 years ago the chairman of the central electricity generating

The maniacs in the green party shouted him down .

The chairman was forced out . The green party has prospered ever since .

The electorate shoulders plenty of blame for the current state of affairs for
giving credence to the semi-lunatic ,fanatical greens who are still peddling
their scare stories promoting the madcap belief that mankind is the

So far as I am aware, Underground Coal Gasification has not been tried on a large scale, but it is a technology with potential. It offers a way to access deep coal measures without the hazards of deep mining. We’ll have to see if anyone takes up the development challenges.

          barefootcontessa says:

There is no such thing as CLEAN nuclear power! We don’t own the nuclear power stations anyway. EDF own them, probably a stitch up between the gorgon and his brother! The problem is so serious and so complicated I would suggest short paragraphs are not even touching the subject! A 100 page document wouldn’t cover it. We do know that we’ve sold out to a foreign country as far as nuclear power is concerned. If people weren’t so keen on eating huge quantities of beef the gasses produced would be less, if all houses had solar panels fitted, energy would be saved (small steps but going in the right direction.) America is by far the most wasteful nation on the planet – have you asked them what they are going to do about reducing their carbon emissions? Ultimately man is the problem.

          Hugh Bristic says:

192 barefootcontessa seems to ignore the fact that over 80% of French electricity is nuclear produced, and they aren’t all sporting two heads or dying of radiation sickness.

Why is the oil price rising?
Why have all the empty tankers been filled with oil?
Why has Libyan oil and gas become so important?
Why is Obama so upset; is it about the release, or is it about the oil and gas?

It is possible that given the aftermath of the Iranian elections and the Irainian pursuit of nuclear weapons that a decision has been taken to take the necessary action.
This would be likely to hit oil supply and price and it is therefore better to be done sooner, whilst global demand is lower, due to the recession.

The world is less perfect than we would like and there is clearly a lot of hypocrisy spoken about nuclear weapons which are evil and dangerous when our enemies have them but a thoroughly good thing for world peace in our own hands.

I find it telling that you would rather ‘play the man, than the ball’ after working tirelessy to reform the expenses system and to sack employees who plotted dirty comments against other party colleagues that you would engage in such gutter politics and attack my wife personally.

Such biterness and personal attacks are not welcome in the fair and equal society, I and the Labour party are working day and night to create.

So – the Brown/Mandelson choice was, let Megrahi rot in Scotland for 3 months, earn general condemnation form the EU and don’t get an oil deal, or let him go, earn general condemnation from the US and yes, get an oil deal. Having chosen the latter course to then be able to demonstrate clean hands, because it was Scotland what done it appears to be a masterstroke of political inventiveness in the British people’s interest that we have not come to expect from NuLab.

If all this is the case the fall out from the US will be short-lived, so long as we continue to support them in Afghanistan. More dead soldiers there will be the price we have to pay- that will play badly for Brown- Public opinion is quickly turning against continued involvement on the current terms.

However, if Brown/Mandelson have effectively sidelined the US in Libya, and they have won significant energy independence from the US and Russia going forward, and at the same time set our stock higher in the Arab World generally, then the Megrahi/oil equation looks even better.

The next 6 months will tell the tale- if Magrahi is able to finger Iran for Lockerbie credibly, Shell/BP make big Libyan announcements, Brown announces a pull back fom Afganistan (in anticipation of an Iranian thrust, a much more credible threat to us), this could all play very well for him.

And it won’t matter how long Magrahi lasts- it’s the SNPs fault- they put him away erroneously in the first place, and why didn’t Salmond have an inquiry?

But we are talking Brown so it will be fascinating to see how this blows up in his face.

Not convinced about your supposition there Nell. The ‘Lockerbie’ denouement may take several months/years to disentangle. (Nothing to do with newlabour who were marginally criticised in Makaskill’s speech.
The gorgon will be squirming that he has been praised by Lebanon for the release, but what can he say? He has been caught in a cleft stick. Mandelscum is already well enough to make a statement , – he says there was absolutely no oil deal. I agree that the SNP seeks to gain from this incident, as Salmond has only one objective, to separate Scotland from the UK.
Any opportunity to embarrass Brown will be taken, as Salmond is hoping that Westminster will overreact.
He can then claim that the SNP stood up to international pressure and that Scotland should shake off Westminster interference.
This places the holier than thou tone of the Scottish Justice Minister in context. He was quite prepared to insult the hundreds of American families who lost loved ones at Lockerbie for the narrow political advantage of his own party.

The claim is that this man was innocent but that claim has not been supported in a court of law. It may be as worthless as many other conspiracy theories and no court verdict should be spurned by a politician in the way that MacAskill chose to do.
MacAskill claimed to be acting from humanity, but I believe he acted from political motives. The families deserved much better. they have a right to expect better from a Scottish government than this tawdry populist gesture.

The ability to answer straight questions with straight answers ..

          A sense of humour ..

A highly developed sense of leadership ..

So the answer is - to do nothing then ? says:

I saw the programme and at first agreed with your view but eventually by the end came around to a different view. The facilitator from A4e was realistic at the outset – yes she knocked the women down to re-build their confidence;interview skills and CV over a period of 6 weeks but he was evident that she really cared about the outcome and their personal circumstances and actually got one of the women to admit she had a alcohol problem and helped her to regain her confidence and get a job(you will no doubt sneer and say yes but as a shop assistant in “Poundland”)-as a result you could see all the women’s self-esteem,demeanour and appearance change over the course as each began to feel that they were not written off as “benefit scroungers” but people who through circumstance had been channelled into a situation which none of them were happy with but didn’t know how to get out of it

With social benefits payments exceeding the whole of the annual taxation raised each year something has to be done(surely you’re not suggesting that we allow people to continue to live on benefit). People on benefit with a few exceptions want to work(apart from a minority who are generally working the system) but circumstance;skill set; education;low self-esteem; reliance on alcohol and drugs all play their part.

It’s not being “nasty” as you say but providing the “support” and yes a “kick up the arse” in certain cases which was delivered with understanding and compassion -”tough love” is better than just continuing to write off a sizeable proportion of our population surely or do you want to keep paying your taxes(I am presuming you are in employment?)with nothing being done to try and reduce the benefits problem because believe me if that is the case in another 20 years there will be more people on benefit than working and those that are working will be paying higher taxation to fund it – whichever political party is in power

I think we need to support the nhs and we should do so by ruthlessly identifying what is not working.
we could have the best health service in the world if we put our minds to it.
stop demolishing the reputation of the service the question is how it can be improved and how savings can be made from non essential departments and how they can be transferred to the front line of the service where the patients are.
by having more resources at the front end of health care instead of being drained away on overpaid non key management levels the individual needs of patients would be better served and their treatment more generously funded.
there is vast room for improvement but all I am saying is let’s try to make it a first class service before we seek to destroy it.

You will be VERY lucky if you ever hear a peep about any of that on the US Network News. Instead it’s all about the FBI director and the US blaming MacAskill and the SNP not Brown.

The Guardian have just raised an issue of Brown’s involvement in negotiations six weeks ago and despite all pleas to the contrary Brown is the Prime Minister of the UK. I don’t think the FBI are playing it Gordon’s way at all; they are encircling with fins poised above the surface and will close in upon Brown as the Guardian revelation picks up interest. Brown will be nailed here and in the U.S as far as culpability is concerned. IMO

Well, so far the US Networks don’t seem to be makinig the connection.

Brown is barely mentioned at all and the letter was addressed specifially to the SNP justice minster.

Whe I hear Obama or Hillary or anyone in the US administration calling out Brown by name I’ll be more inclined to believe you but Brown is in hiding and despite the UK Networks reporting the Mandelscum and Brown involvement they aren’t getting a whole lot of play in the US, yet.

If they do Brown will have to come out of hiding and we’ll see how well he can dance on the hot coals.

Newlabour have a lot to lose if Scotland lurches further toward the SNP. Labour, after all have been kept in power for years and years by the labour vote in Scotland, and a large percentage of the UK ministers are Scots. Newlabour, I imagine, think that they are doing damage to the SNP when, in fact, they are shooting themselves in the foot. I hope the gorgon and his incompetent party lose out big time on this one, and Alex Salmond and Mckaskill come up smelling of roses. Clearly, the Libyans have been pressing for the release of this bloke for a long, long, long, long time and would not accept any UK oil deal without his repatriation thrown in. Gordon’s crap appeal to Libya to keep it low key was an attempt to get away with this arrangement with nil publicity. How it’s blown up in his face! I suspect it may be a few years before we get to find out the full truth of all this.

Maybe it’s as well that all this came to a head while Gordoom was on holiday. Who knows what sort of a mess he might have landed us in if he’d tried to micro-manage it on his own.

Maybe the Dark Lord planned it so; suspect the hospital stay was not quite part of the plan.

It’s a complex one. The Vincennes/Iranian airliner incident, Lockerbie, a man convicted of a crime he almost certainly didn’t commit, oil deals, high politics. Quite a mixture. Perhaps Britain was an innocent caught up in a feud between others – colateral damage. Maybe that gave us a bit of much-needed moral high ground. America does not seem to have behaved totally honourably throughout.

There’s bad feeling between America and Iran. It’s simmering. If anything kicks off, let’s hope we have the good sense to stay out of it.

Suits the kilted nasties to convene in their gang hut and get all over-excited giving it ‘who are you to tell us how to run our country and our legal system’.

However, since I believe the whole Libya thing was a complete stitch-up and that this Megrahi (sp) bloke is no more guilty than my 9 year old son then UK Labour and its previous comedy administration in Scotland has only itself to blame.

And Cameron has already positioned itself as Obama’s best friend in all this.

So, to summarize. The SNP has stitched up the Labour government with the yanks. Obama won’t be returning the Maximum Fuckwit’s calls unless it is to give him a monumental ear-bleed.

Blair and Mandelson might eventually be rewarded by BP with a seat on the board or a fat ‘consultancy’ retainer for their US and EU connections. Brown will be rewarded with fuck all. At least one of ‘em is getting what he’s worth.

Brown, in an effort to remain in power, has alienated the banks, the yanks, the Labour party, the Labour voters and practically the entire electorate.

He’s fucked the economy, the education system, the constitution and practically everything else he’s turned his oft-reported monumental intellect to.

He’s an idiot savant without the ‘savant’. He’s a idiot savant in the same sense that John Prescott is bulemic. Brown forgets he’s supposed to be a savant and Prescott forgets he’s supposed to ‘purge’.

I owe Chaim an apology. You were right.

The American News Networks (CBS News anyway) DID lead with the backdealing of Mandy, Brown, Prince Andrew and even the Queen got a mention.

It was most amusing seeing Mandelscum on the American News being spoken of in less than approving tones though they did precisley the same thing with Prince Andrew and promptly listed all his meetings with Gadaffi’s son leaving too little doubt they thought this was all about money.

Seems the story has indeed moved on a bit and Brown is going to have some explaining to do to his American chums.

No doubt he’ll just parrot that it was all a Scottish decision, nothing to do with him, entirely proper, no pressure for a release, blah blah fucking blah.
He is a lying c’unt after all.

Of course the irony is both the US and the UK are delighted to be greedily sucking on Libya’s Oil again & they will keep doing so even as this fake war of outrage goes on.

    • 422

A public inquiry into Megrahi’s will achieve no more than the public inquiry into Blair’s decision to go to war in Iraq or te inquest on Dr Kelly.

The evidence has been manufactured and presented. No record will exist of the orders which lead to its manufacture. No witnesses will be called or can possibly be made to attest to its manufacture. All concerned will claim that with the evidence they were presented then this Megrahi bloke is as guilty as sin. If the evidence turns out to be false/fake/unreliable then the panel of judges will claim that’s not their fault. The government will claim they are outraged and had no idea and the yanks will jail some junior grade staffer for three years as being the one who made it all up, golly we have no idea under what motive – he was acting alone and is soley responsible.

Labour’s summer truce crumbles as Darling attacks PM

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1208427/Labours-summer-truce-crumbles-Darling-attacks-PM.html

Here we go the serious infighting has started. McFuckwit won’t make it beyond the Party conference season, a caretaker PM will take over and because of public outrage will have to call an immeadiate election. Labour will crash and burn so badly they will be out of office for a hundred years. Brown and his cohorts will be carted off to the Hague and shot and the junior ministers will be hung from London Bridge using their own giblets. The remaining Labour MP’s will be pubilcly whipped and humiliated.

then the alarm clock went off……but I can dream at least.

      Scorched Earth says:

On the contrary it is no dream but Brown’s nightmare coming to pass as predicted.

The plotters did not go away after the coup that wasn’t. They merely went along with the Labour backbenchers who decided to give him a few more months to se if he could turn it around.

The polls are still instant death for most Labour MPs come the election, Afghanistan is a disaster and now the stench emerging from the Lockerbie deals is overwhelming.

Brown hasn’t exactly turned it around has he ?

Milliboy and Johnson will indeed be canvassing opinion and they will also be looking for a stalking horse to kickstart a Leadership challenge.

A desperate last gasp move to have anyone but Brown leading Labour into the Election is gathering speed just as the Labour Conference approaches and the plotting can truly begin in earnest.

May I suggest as a punishment MacAskill, Milliband and Brown should serve the remainder of his sentence because of the odium that they have heaped upon this country by their actions or inactions, as the case may be.

However, as we have seen, the Socialists are not in the business of doing justice and/or law and order. When there is a crime committed by one of them, they order the police to ignore it. That really is perverting the course of justice.

It is in fact extremely common for Leaders under extreme pressure to be subjected to a first tentative “stab” like the coup that wasn’t.

Just to see how much blood is drawn and how many and who will line up to bury Caeser and who is still praising him.

Before the Heseltine challenge finished Maggie off there was stalking horse challenge by backbencher Anthony Meyer.

Before Duncan Smith was forced to hurriedly leave the stage he faced a party conference in Blackpool seething with talk of plotters gunning for the leader. He even had Chief whip David McLean summon John Maples and four other suspects for “career development interviews”.

Before Tony Blair finally had to admit defeat to Brown and leave there was the resignation of a junior minister and seven government aides who had urged Blair to resign.

The coup that wasn’t can easily be seen as sniffing the waters for blood before going in for the kill as the Conference looms.

Polticians have a habit of panicking and developing a ruthless streak when it becomes crystal clear their own seat and job is going to get obliterated by an hugely unpopular Leader.

On pravda you will get a heavily edited version of an extremely sucessfull conference no doubt as in the extremely sucessfull Afghan elections.

I remember many years ago before I was forced to give up work due to the high taxes, I operated a CO2 fire extinguisher to put out a fire in a very noisy environment. The gas discharge had the effect of charging me up electrically and when the supervisor came over for a report, and due to the noise I had to shout into his ear, a fucking great blue spark jumped from the end of my nose into his ear. They have been trying to spin and smear against General Sir Richard Dannatt for a month now. The last attempt over his expenses came to grief when the DT today revealed that he had legitimately claimed £19K for entertainment expenses over four years 2005-2009 whilst bob’ainbustinagut claimed £394K for 3 years -2008 and brainless kevan claimed a whopping £454K for three years 2005-2008.

new labour and gordon brown have achieved a quite remarkable feat: what made labour unelectable untill 1997 was that people had no faith in labour’s economic competence.
after 12 years of incoherent new labour economic policy the country once again has no confidence in labour regarding the country’s accounts and not only that, the vast majority of people now also have no faith in the value of labour’s deployment of British troops or in labour’s warmongering foreign policy of occupation.
