If you earn £7000/year and are disabled then you’d get a lot of extra cash from the government I assume, such as council tax rebate/benefit, tax credit or other benefits, or maybe a council/free house.

So it’s not really comparing like-with-like to compare disabled (or the below) listed people’s “income” with the intern’s income. It’s like saying that an MP only earns £64,000 when in fact their various tax-free expenses and family-given jobs takes them up easily to an equivalent gross salary of over £100,000.
I’m not saying that disabled people, carers, pensioners, etc are given a fair deal, but I am saying that you need to compare like-with-like.

I’m in a similar situation to the intern, in that I earn just enough that the government won’t give me any meaningful benefits/credits, and I have kids, but I don’t really earn enough to pay all the bills.

People in the £25k to £30k bracket with kids are by far the worst off under labour; we get fucked both ways; no benefits but increased taxes, especially regressive taxes like council tax. Our actual disposable income is probably about half what someone’s is who’s on the dole; my disposable income’s pretty much negative once i’ve paid the mortgage and food/utility bills etc.

Either move heaven and earth, preferably by downplaying your are their opportunities in life, to get them into a Hard-Science degree at either of the Two Universities, or else send them out to work aged 16 or after A-levels, to make their way.

“Uni” is a GramscoFabiaNazi de-civilisation construct. It is intended to produce State-snooper-bureauNazis in droves. After all, the stazi needed 10% of the whole country’s population.

The most worthwhile thing they do at “uni” is shag each other and get rat-arsed.
