Bell Pottinger Shall Party with the Tories After All

Like Cinderella it turns out that despite cancelling their own party, Bell Pottinger’s Peter Bingle shall go to the Tory ball. They are sponsoring Policy Exchange’s party at the Conservative conference.  Rumours of a six figure sponsorship deal turn out to be spin from rivals.  A “four-figure party” Guido is told.

Hope there will be enough canapes to go round…

1)I am more offended by war crimes than words.

          the country is fucked, yes?
we are virtually bankrupt and we are currently bang in the middle of a severe recession. agreed?
I am very concerned that instead of coming up with the solutions to the problems this country faces the tories seem to fannying around and swanning about from one ball to another.
far too casual and far too decadent behaviour for a group of individuals who wish to govern. completely inappropriate for a recession time and war time government. too dodgy a propostion I am afraid.
that is why I say the tories shadow cabinet is stuffed full of useless c’unts.
and is therefore unfit to govern.

      HELLMAND 2009

The air is thick with dust and flame, who started this? Who is to blame?
Shells and rockets rake the field yet neither side is like to yield
There’s no retreat, no going back, just blindly forward in attack
Men are wounded. Men lose limbs. And those who die we praise with hymns
Or stand to hear the lesson read, yet nothings changed, THESE MEN ARE DEAD

We strive to bring their bodies back in boxes draped in union jack
They’ve paid the price and given all but their pay is stopped from when they fall
These fathers’ lovers’ brothers sons have fallen to each other’s guns
Do politicians really care, they might if they were fighting there
They praise all those who serve our nation yet try to cut their compensation

It’s never those whom nations lead get stuck in hell to die or bleed
They just cajole our sons and brothers to go to war and murder others
Both sides’ young men fall for the trick. Greed, religion, politic
That foreign Johnny turban clad is really just an Afghan lad
Who with religious hatred filled joined the fray was quickly killed

Likewise the lad in kaki gear is just a lad from over here.
Courageous, patriotic, smart he volunteers to play his part
He leaves behind his child and wife and goes abroad to lose his life
The Commons reads his name aloud saying that we should be proud
Should we be proud when we’re to blame

NO WE SHOULD HANG OUR HEADS IN SHAME

      Agent 99 says:

Aplogies for the slightly longer length of this post

Just wait for the great Labour Lie to start

“24 hours to save the NHS’ Remember that little nugget? Total bullshit of course as yes Labour have poured money into the system but demanded no major changes but created hundreds of non jobs and manager positions. Result more expense and wastage for little benefit to the end user and the tax payer. Labour state free at the point of supply but it just isn’t and the prescription charge has just gone up again but I don’t suppose anyone noticed that while in certain other rigions of the UK it is free. Don’t mention the dental services or perhaps do mention them as McDoom has found provate is better by all accounts.

Everyone has a good and a bad experience of the NHS and so do I. I’m glad it is there I am but sorry… we just cannot keep wheelbarrowing tax payers money into this goliath without some restructuring and in depth focus. The NHS needs to be more leaner and efficient. We owe billions and billions and savings have to be made across the board. Ringfence the money yes but demand better efficiency and service for that ringfence.

Having recently been in and out of hospital for a relative the service I would describe as at best ‘just ok’. The communication between paitient and doctor was nil, the food was bloody awful and an utter disgrace which if served in a cafe the Government HSE would shut the place down overnight. We finally brought food in as it was so bad. The nurses were all obese and overweight and I mean just about all of them. Not like the ones I used to remember what an advertisement that is for healthy living. and I could not make myself understood to the domestic staff as they spoke little english as they swabbed the floors around with a dirty mops (try changing the dirty water just once in a while FFS!). Some wards were used just as storage areas and not for beds though there still remained long waiting lists (despite what Burnham thinks). The trick is you are only counted when on the list not while waiting to get on the waiting list. Another governmental slight of hand.

The truth is Labour just use the NHS as a political football when they see an opportunity. Don’t think so? Just see if one of the first things McDoom does when he gets back is a visit a hospital (probably in a solid Labour seat) with a crowd of people (rent a Labour mob bussed in) outside shouting Gordon save us please from the Tory ‘Baybee eaters’.

The truth is this particular Emporer ‘has no clothes’ it has not had any clothes for some years and until we recognise that and have a sensible non-politicaly motivated discussion on its future we will be paying lots more for a lot worse. The NHS is now failing under it’s own weight and sucess in many ways but who has the courage to think the unthinkable? It just needs someone to point that out.

Before the clones start spouting ‘you will be glad its there when you want it’ well yes I am sure I would be but my experiences of this service have not been good though I am sure there are many who have had the opposite. I am a great supporter of the NHS (Hospital Friends) but even I can see the whole sytem is now and has been for some time now just taking the total piss.

Rant over and again with apologies for the length…..

Hague is one of the highest profile figures in the conservative party. fact. he was feared by Blair and Brown at the dispatch Box. fact. the British public at least know who Hague is and they do seem to like him.
Unlike some balding knobcheese EU expenses taking gimp who has nothing better to do than appear on FOX News and youtube

who exactly is listening to Hannan the panda boy now bumbelch ?

he fucked up and had to be smacked down. simple as that.

Hague was the Leader of the opposition. He was and is one of the influential figures in modern British conservatism. He will probably be the foreign secretary before too long. one of the top three jobs in politics. exercising real power while Hannan is whoring himself to dickwads like FOX News or living of his one hit wonder of politics status in the backwoods of a useless and costly EU

youtube hits mean nothing in the real world of politics.
we do not elect political leaders by youtube hits and only the terminally stupid would ever wish such a thing or think it could ever come to pass

And that was a fine example Steve Expat as it was also seen extensively on all the news networks at the time so it’s total viewing figures would have been many millions easily beating any Hannan cumulative youtube hitcount. as do most serious politicians pronouncements particularly in the run up to an election

I have put down my angle grinder and oxy-acetylene torch briefly from my ‘elicopter uparmouring work to report to the nation that we are making great progress towards our 200,000 deaths milestone.

Many thousands have now died in our operations, who will all be grateful in the end when we have fully introduced Western-style consumerism and Christianity to Afghanistan.

I am also pleased to report that this week we have set up 47,000 new schools, brought clean water to a further 4.5 million Afghanis, have set up 7,500 new hospitals, built 14,284 new bridges, and have introduced our special socialist brand of multicultural diversity and equality so Afghan women are now free to be both Muslims and single mothers and pole dancers – and all at Western tax-payers’ expense.

I think you’ll agree that the task is worthwhile and I urge the whole country to get behind our essential mission. Now, where’s my welding mask?

This Labour Government can’t be trusted with a 5 year old’s pocket money let alone our taxes and certainly not with the care of the NHS and it’s patients.

      • 202

        Nell,

Sorry, but the NHS system removes the customer from the equation.

It makes no allowance for the contribution individuals make to their OWN under-health. In fact it financially incentivises people to NOT look after their own health.

Much better for the state to subsidise catastrophic insurance (from competing providers) up to the level of a healthy person (WRT age and sex), and NO more!

Think about the difference between NHS specs and Specsavers etc and ask yourself WHY?

The NHS is the worst healthcare funded in the worst possible way.

They’ll then pass it on to the local authority who will let it out to whichever chav family they want to terrorise the local homeowners, i.e. your dead relative’s former neighbours.

The reasons for us being in Afghanistan are bogus .

The main attack in the UK was launched by a handful of misguided, home grown, ethnic Pakistani , madmen .

Defeating the Taliban and al- Qaeda in Afghanistan will not prevent further attacks
on these shores . In fact even if we humilitated the enemy in Afghanistan the consequence would be revenge attacks in the UK again launched by home grown
          terrorists of Pakistani origin .

The only sure way of preventing that would be to deport every person of Pakistani
ethnicity . Apart from being abhorrent, it would be manifestly unfair, immoral and totally impractical .It would though probably be less costly in cash terms and would prevent further loss of life within our armed services .

We are in deep, deep trouble now because of that grinning idiot , Blair .

If we handed him over to the Taliban as part of a truce deal it just might bring about a cessation of hostilities .

          a) to prevent Terrorist attacks on the street of Britain and
          b) to bring Afghanistan to democracy. Or to bring democracy to Afghanistan whichever you prefer.

          We all know that :

          a) is not true – terrorism is being fermented in our own back streets and
          b) we are no longer a power to be reckoned with across the globe capable of bringing democracy to other nations who may or may not want it. We’re barely able under this failing govt to maintain any semblance of democracy here.

And also we simply can’t afford to grandstand in that way any longer – this govt has made us b*nkr*pt. If we can afford military adventures to cast the Brown Cabinet with a macho democratic halo, then surely Zimbabwe should have a greater claim upon our military might.

Why is there a direct connection between the violence in Afghanistan & Pakistan ?

Because Afghanistan is now an Indian client State instead of a Pakistan friendly one under the Taliban. Afghanistan now has India as it’s main trading partner. Pakistan fears Indian expansionism so Pakistans security service (the SIS) were actively arming the Taliban helping them and ignoring NATO and American requests on infomrmation on the Taliban terorists. Until recently that is, when Pakistan discovered they had loosed a monster and some of the terrorists they had helped fund had decided they would prefer to set up shop in Pakistan and overthrow that State.

Afghanistan is still mainly a proxy war with India for Pakistan & vice versa.

Why is NATO and America so invested in a stable Afghanistan ?

As spotted it’s got nothing to do with womens rights any more than Iraq was about weapons of mass destruction. There is still the hope to get BinLaden but there are also the close links with Iran and Pakistan instability the U.S. fears. The massive gas pipelines also cannot be ignored as Energy Security is no conspiracy theory but avowed policy of the U.S. Government.

Why is the horseshit about keeping us safe from terrorism here so false ?

Because there are many different factions of the Taliban and many different Warlords all of whom are provincial in their outlook with an eye to Pashtun self Governance, installing their own Mullahs to enact Shariah Law and continuing the hugely profitable Narco trafficking as just some of their interests.
The Taliban are not interested in Global-jihad and never have been.

Most simply, we are there because America is there and America is still there because Barack Obama found it a hard enough sell in the US Election to convince the American public to pull out of Iraq without giving the Republicans the ammunition in the election of an imminent pull out of Afghanistan.

            It’s about saving face.

Quietly leaving and ignoring and suppressing the reporting on the damage done and still being wrought by disasterous Republican Foreign Policy adventurism.

This is already happening in Iraq. If the public do not hear about all the carnage and violence then there is no carnage and violence.

I personally always thought the 45 mins referred to Israel a far more serious target than us. Iraq has never had the capability to fire much beyond 600 miles anyway but the averge person would not be aware of that why should they be so ‘simpletons’ they are not.

It was I, – Ivor schwartzporsche who wrote these dastardly words above anonymously and I apologise to the enquiry. I was being cylindrical, tonge in cheek-meaning any body should realise that he didn’t have an icbm capable of reaching the uk in 45 minutes. I knew it was bollocks at the time. Even if true we would have taken Iraq out with out the need for ground troops like Japan

It wasn’t 45 minutes to hit the UK, it was 45 minutes to be ready for hitting UK bases in Cyprus, I recall: pure *lawyersprache*. Why the magic number 45? Because that’s the amount of time it takes to arm an American made 155 mm binary chemical shell. Coincidence? I think not!

Labour? Tories? It takes two to foxtrot the country to ruin.
The esteemed members of the cabal of crooks have more pressing concerns than the lives of mere squaddies. Brown is a nightmare of biblical proportions, but where is the opposition? Where is the voice of anti war? Where is the voice asking why a “proven” mass murderer is being released on compassionate grounds? Where is the voice asking why Mps have rubber stamped a new expenses scam and sold it as reform? Where is the voice screaming for an EU referendum?

          • barefootcontessa says:

You may well ask! Tories are just as much war mongers as newlabour. ‘Proven’ ‘mass murderer’ is now in doubt because new evidence has ‘turned up’ that would almost certainly clear the accused. MPs have got their expenses in common whether they come from the right or left etc. therefore they always stick together when it comes to improving their expenses payments.

I don’t disagre BFC but the acceptance and agreement was based mainly on the understanding that Saddam had WMD, that could strike within 45 mins and that such a regime if left with them could cause a serious outbrak of unrest in the region. (The last reason is quite ironic really given the US and UK activities of course).

The issue was that this statement of fact certainly appears to be a lie. The opposition was at the very least given incorrect information unknowingly by the Government or at worst deliberately led astray for reasons yet to be decided.
If it was the former and military intelligence was genuinely incorrect then we would appear to have been 100% more succesful in WW1 using pidgons to send intelligence back than now with all the electronic ‘eye in the sky’ aids we have.
If the latter then the Hague beckons but with people ‘walking in the woods’ the list of witnesses reduces and of course the main opposition (Iraq) have all been hung anyway.

My concern at the time was the ‘real’ WMD (dirty bomb or similar) falling on Israel and if that happened then WW3 would most likely have occurred as Israel would have retaliated en masse and even the Americans would have been unable to prevent it. There was no WMD (unless you consider an ageing scud to be such a thing) and so it thankfully turned out not to be.

The question is then did we know there was no WMD? I believe we did know but continued anyway unfortunately the various debates an enquirys have been so restricted the truth of it all is yet to emerge but I suspect it will do but by then you me and everyone here will be long dead and gone. Before anyone jumps up and down I do support our troops 100% but not the Government in the slightest.

All just in my own naive opinion of course but still…………

Good comment agent 99. If the Government genuinely thought on the basis of the intelligence they had that Saddam had WMD’s then they can be forgiven as they acted in good faith and remember Saddam was being evasive after all. HOWEVER if it proves to be the case that they knew full well that there was no evidence of WMD’s but used it as a convienient excuse to go to war and sexed up or however you like to put it what intelligence they had to make their case then that is another matter entirely. Another worrying point is that they now appear to be justifying their actions on the basis of regime change which as we know is NOT sanctioned under international LAW.

The thing is, Contessa, is that whilst the Aussies and other teams around the world treat a cricket match as more important than life and death; we English still regard it as simply a game – like all the others we’ve exported around the world. It’s a stark difference in attitude. Allow me to quote a few lines by Flanders & Swann:

“The rottenest bits of these islands of ours
We’ve left in the hands of three unfriendly powers
Examine the Irishman, Welshman or Scot

And hasn’t got bishops to show him the way

The English the English the English are best
I wouldn’t give tuppence for all of the rest

The lrishman now our contempt is beneath
He sleeps in his boots and he lies through his teeth
He blows up policemen or so I have heard
And blames it on Cromwell and William the Third

The English the English the English are best
I wouldn’t give tuppence for all of the rest

The Welshman’s dishonest, he cheats when he can
He’s little and dark more like monkey than man
He works underground with a lamp on his hat
And sings far too loud, far too often and flat

The English the English the English are best
I wouldn’t give tuppence for all of the rest

And crossing the channel one cannot say much
For the French or the Spanish, the Danish or Dutch
The Germans are German, the Russians are red
And the Greeks and Italians eat garlic in bed

The English are noble, the English are nice
And worth any other at double the price

And all the world over each nation’s the same
They’ve simply no notion of playing the game
They argue with umpires, they cheer when they’ve won
And they practice before hand which spoils all the fun

The English the English the English are best
I wouldn’t give tuppence for all of the rest

It’s not that they’re wicked or naturally bad
It’s just that they’re foreign that makes them so mad
The English are all that a nation should be
And the pride of the English are Chipper and me

The English the English the English are best

    Scorched Earth says:

Why is there a direct connection between the violence in Afghanistan & Pakistan ?

Because Afghanistan is now an Indian client State instead of a Pakistan friendly one under the Taliiban. Afghanistan now has India as it’s main trading partner. Pakistan fears Indian expansionism so Pakistans security service (the SIS) were actively arming the Taliiban helping them and ignoring NATO and American requests on infomrmation on the Taliiban terorists. Until recently that is, when Pakistan discovered they had loosed a monster and some of the terorists they had helped fund had decided they would prefer to set up shop in Pakistan and overthrow that State.

Afghanistan is still mainly a proxy war with India for Pakistan & vice versa.

Why is NATO and America so invested in a stable Afghanistan ?

As already highlighted it’s got nothing to do with womens rights any more than Iraq was about weapons of mass destruction. There is still the hope to get BinLadn but there are also the close links with Iran and Pakistan instability the U.S. fears. The massive gas pipelines also cannot be ignored as Energy Security is no conspiracy theory but avowed policy of the U.S. Government.

Why is the bullsh*t about keeping us safe from terorism here so false ?

Because there are many different factions of the Taliiban and many different Warlords all of whom are provincial in their outlook with an eye to Pashtun self Governance, installing their own Mulllahs to enact Shaariah Law and continuing the hugely profitable Narco-trafficking as just some of their interests.
The Taliiban are not interested in Global-jiihad and never have been.

Most simply, we are there because America is there and America is still there because Barack Obama found it a hard enough sell in the US Election to convince the American public to pull out of Iraq without giving the Republicans the ammunition in the election of an imminent pull out of Afghanistan.

    It’s about saving face.

Quietly leaving and ignoring and suppressing the reporting on the damage done and still being wrought by calamitious Republican Foreign Policy adventurism.

This is already happening in Iraq. If the public do not hear about all the carnage and violence then there is no carnage and violence.

Peters attempts to stop free down loading , are as ever slightly flawed somthing his new donar should note , yes you can get ISPs to stop internet downloading , what you cannot stop is someone copying and distributing a recording , given how many tunes somthing as pocket sized as an I pod can store , all that will happen is , you will buy a usb stick and download from a seller .
I remember when they all told us this web buying media thingy was going to increase bands income and cut out the middle man , well it did , mainly the need for banks and payment for purchase. In a rather bizarre twist , in attempting to circumvent old markets with new technology (and so gain the whole enchilada), they have made it worthless as at the point of sale it can be copied .I suppose it was an unforseen in the NWO as we would be all frightend by the stasi .

So the “Independent” of all rational thought, are headlining on Police Overtime claims as if They simply print money like the MP’S. Think about it FFS ! If Police overtime is up 70 % its because crime is up. Unlike mandleson and other MP’S they can only claim what they have worked, and if Crime is up then the Police have to work more overtime to deal with it. The reason that ordinary cops earn more than their gaffers is because several years ago their gaffers elected to take an increase in salary provided they didnt claim overtime. That was around 10 years or so ago and now they are paying for their short term thinking. Bottom line is if the Police are working plenty overtime then the crime rate is soaring. Dont listen to this Government spin !!!!

“Just wait for the great Labour Lie to start”

I thought this would begin when the Scottish fuckwit returned but even I was wrong about that. Here we go with the below from Brown. The NHS smear campaign has begun and the pollitical football of the NHS by Labour kicks off as they raise peoples fears about the NHS withoout foundation.

What an utterly despicable man and so called PM and government this is . If people cannot now see through these tactics then there really is truly no hope whatsoever for Great Britain. The Tories have made far and above a bigger comittment to the NHS than Labour at the moment. Labour still have not matched the Tories.

    From ITN News—

Gordon Brown stepped up his attack in a letter to Labour Party members last night. “It is understandable that the Conservative leadership have tried to distance themselves from those in Tory ranks who criticise the NHS,” he wrote. “But the reason why their comments have generated so much anger is that they spoke to a larger truth. That truth is that there are two Tory faces on the NHS. Behind all the recent talk of commitment, the party has not truly been reformed.”

Smear away you lying toerag you are gone at the next election!!

Re Afghanistan perhaps its just the location

US and UK are in Afghhanistan but they are also in Iraq. Still no real idea why we are there but I suppose this would provided a good pincer movement if Iran should ever get ideas me thinks.
More logical than the Labour’s excuses of ‘stop terrorism’ and ‘provide democracy’ while claiming this is a valid invasion unlike those nasty Tories Tories who invaded an innocent country that did not want any help and blew up at least 300+ baby milk factories without reason on the Falkland Islands.

If we leave Afghanistan now the terrorist training camps will return. The Taliban will take control again and use it to launch terrorist attacks around the world again. Al Quaeda will have its safe haven restored. The eight years of British blood shed in Afghanistan will have been wasted because the job is not finished – the creation of a stable regime. If we do not fight the terrorists there then we surely will be fighting them somewhere else, like in London.

Those who call for an end to the war in Afghanistan are doing the Taliban’s work for them.

      nell says:

I’m sorry Phil but we are already fighting terrorists in Britain and they aren’t being trained in Afghanistan.

We shan’t stop any terrorists attacks in the western world by fighting a war in Afghanstan. That is just labour propaganda.

‘ doing the Talibans work’ is another weak excuse to equal bobaintbustingagut’s comments that to criticise him and his decisions and leadership (or rather lack of ) is being unpatriotic or to listen to madhatty saying we are in Afghanistan to liberate it’s women and bring democracy. Truth is he excuses for our presence in Afghanistan don’t stand up to scrutiny.

We should kit out our men properly whilst they are there and bring them home asap.

I see there are new claims this morning that the decision to make tamiflu widely available was taken by gordon and the Health Dept in direct opposition to medical advice that it would create the danger of a resistant mutant strain developing.

Truth is gordon was determined to hype up the ‘swine flu crisis’ at any cost because he believed the ensuing panic would deflect public attention away from his other disasters.

Didn’t work did it? Methinks gordon needs to employ BellP to try and improve his image. No doubt BellP wouldn’t want such an account given the very poor chances of delivering any worthwhile result.

      bloody good point freddie.
debate is the oxygen of democracy.
new labour has shut down debate for the last twelve years.
and therefore it is important for the health of our parliamentary democracy that new labour is soundly defeated at the next election.
but let’s face it freddie the tory front bench can’t be trusted either. they’re a bunch of thieves and millionaire benefit scroungers for fucks sake.
all I’m saying is if party politics is killing our democracy then we must kill as many party candidates as we can at the next general election by voting independent.
