Good news if it is true James is standing but will he require 70 Lab MP’s to back him publicly? If so there didn’t seem to be more than a handful of speakers calling him to go at PLP meeting tonight so does James allready have assurances of support which stayed silent at PLP meeting?……I hope so!

Purnell and Miliband are like the Blair / Brown of yesteryear.

Miliband is the heir apparent, but lacks the balls, leadership, ability to make a decision and is despised by the public.

Purnell, however, finds himself becoming more and more popular on the basis that he is surrounded by total unelectable arseholes – but has the backbone to have a go.

Well said, just because he did not do a single day leaflet delivery he knows how to run for leader? They all need to shut up put up with let go carry forward until or up to an election, and then let us choose a credible, talented person. USA president come from no where less experiences, manage to do lot. I hate James who thinks he can buy the labour members. They need to have party allegiances; I think he was a reporter at BBC?

Was this the disgusting attempt to have an HOUR LONG Party political broadcast on behalf of the labour party? What am I saying “Attempt” they succeeded. I have written to the BBC to ask whether we are now to expect 1 hour long PPBs by at least a dozen more parties. Don’t know how much of it Sky put on but on BBC 24 it was the fully Monty I HOUR! (Have they broken their charter? – I was under the impression that PPBs were only allowed for 6 weeks, and then only after Parliament has been dissolved, and an Election called? Where will we all wake up? In a Gulag?
