I have already taken steps to prevent further breaches of the public trust. As we approach further elections I have taken the advice of my consigliari, Mr Edward “Corleone” Balls, to suspend Parliament and assume the role of Dear Leader. Since I got us all into this expenses mess I am of course the only one who can get us out of it.

Do you think that Politicians will one day “get” that the banking industry also followed the Rules and indeed in their case had Compliance Officers that not only knew and understood the Rules, but ensured they were complied with! Guess who wrote the Rules? That’s right the Politicians (acting for the final words though the FSA).

Lord Truscott not only denied he had done anything wrong, he was in bullish mode, and alleged he had been scapegoated and set up by the media. He found the question ‘have you no shame’(Eddie Mair) provocative and became very angry, saying that the fault lay in the rules, not him.
Another one who just doesn’t get it, does he?

They are Peers of the Realm. What they have done is treasonable. Therefore it’s to the Tower and off with their heads!

At least hereditary peers have a sense of duty not like these troughers.
