Tebbit : Don’t Vote Tory

TebbitTebbit has chosen his words carefully, he says don’t vote for the major expense fiddling parties, don’t vote BNP, vote for the other minority protest parties. By that it is taken he means “Vote UKIP”.  He could equally as well also mean Jury Team or Libertas.  This could be an interesting euro-election…

But hang on: isn’t the European Parliament even more corrupt than Westminster?

Stunning Loyalty and timing Norman so now we’ll see if Dave thinks asking voters not to vote Conservative is perfectly fine or whether he has to show the same balls he did with Wheeler.

But I doubt Tebbit is being spoken of in approving tones in Conservatve Party H.Q. right now.

The poor old codger should shit or get off the pot.
Ukip or Conservative Norman, you can’t be both.

You can’t have any confidence in the E.U. but if you live in the South East you can vote for Marta Andreasen who is on UKIP’s team there.

      • 243

You can’t trust the EU but you can vote for Marta Andreasen if you live in the South East as she is on the UKIP team there.

        M. Cawdery says:

The EU’s sacked former chief accountant, Marta Andreasen has just published her book on the disastrous state of the EU Commission’s budget failings Google Amazon). She was at first suspended and the then Deputy President, now Lord Kinnock, who was “supposed” to sort out the budgetary problems ands scams proved to be less than helpful. Not surprising really give that he and his party are so wedded to such “troughing”.

This book should prove extremely interesting after all she was brought in by the Commission itself (ie their person) to sort out the mess and very appropriate at this time of elections. Incidentally she is actually standing in an English constituency.

THEY ARE A JOKE.!!!.

UKIP in the June elections for definite to send the message we will not tolerate EUSSR dogma.

The EU is disastrous for this country. We must do something. Plus all the MP’s have no real power anyway because of it so all this corruption and scandal is for a job thy don’t and can’t do anymore.

You’d think they would want power back as we have to pay for 2 layers of corruption now. If we stay in the EU we may as well dissolve parliament. Hmmmm

Biscuitbarrel and IJ are right. Just look at every aspect of public policy under the control of Westminster and Downing Street, and what do you see?

        Our currency – fucked
        Our economy – fucked
Defence and foreign policy – lots of lovely little wars all over the shop which cost our forces hundreds of lost and maimed lives and billions of pounds chucked down the drain.
        Civil liberties – fucked
Constitutional reform – so we got rid of a hereditary House of Lords and replaced it with the likes of “Lord” Philip Gould and “Baroness” Uddin.
        The NHS? Truly fucked
Education? Debased, degraded and screwed up.

I could go on. Hardly inspires confidence and makes one yearn to take back any of the powers ceded to Brussels, does it.? British agriculture is once again something we can be proud of, and the industry is doing well, but no thanks to our own government whose only significant contribution in recent years was the single payments scheme. Another complete fuck-up courtesy of our own home-bred politicians which led to the loss of many family farms and homes and even resulted in some suicides.

      • 151
        Bad Magic says:

Aside from the 15 billion we give the EU in contributions, and the EU’s ability to override our legal system? It is the fault of the mindset of our rulers, even those in Brussels and the tsunami of bureaucracy they represent that has crippled our country.

56 – the EU is just as data crazy as our government (just who do you think they are gleaning that information for?), and far more generous with who they give it to, so they’re hardly a good influence there.

62 – You’re half-right, it isn’t the Europeans fault we are here, but that is because none of us are represented by the EU commission, they’re all unelected, unaudited and have the power to determine the legislation and laws of this country many of which are already in effect!

What we really need is for Government to get the hell out of the way, scale down and stay out of our lives. It is always the free market and private sector that pulls nations out of recession, the prescribed bigger government of ours and the EU will forever be a stone around our neck. If you could inflate and spend your way out of inflation Zimbabwe and Japan would be the richest nations on the planet, the former in the drawn-out process of implosion and the latter suffered a long lasting recession. And we would be lucky to even come out as well off as Japan!

We are where we are because of the greed of our MPs and MEPs, the sooner we can disentangle ourselves from those people then the sooner we can escape the insane position government has taken by thinking it can manage an economy and how we should be living our lives.

      • 166
        Bad Magic says:

Oops, meant that to read ‘inflate and spend your way out of recession’

The mess with agriculture is in no small part attributable to EU regulations, we have too many regulations, too much bureaucracy and government intrusion into everything.

Your list stands true, all those branches of the public sector are a mess, but that should stand testament to impotence of government in all its forms.

This bunch of greedy gits would be no different from an EU bunch, it would only be more of the same.

Personally I know of no good reason to stay in the EU. Norway and Switzerland seem to be doing OK. Apart from the huge cost, what happened when the UK dropped out of the ERM? Did France and Germany help? Did they H***!

I voted originally for the EEC (common market) Had I known that we would be lead down the garden path to political union with 80%+ of our laws emanating from Brussels (as Enoch Powell was wise enough to forecast), I and I suspect the majority would have voted NO.

On top of all this we have lost our fisheries to the EU who through gross mismanagement (what’s new?) have destroyed them and the UK fishing industry.

VOTE CONSISTENTLY AGAINST THE EU PARLIAMENT.

I DO NOT CONSENT TO THE UNDEMOCRATIC “RULE” OF THE EU! Their rules, statutes, orders, notices, fees etcetera do NOT apply to me as I hereby refuse to grant my consent to their undemocratic system of governance.

Sure the EU is corrupt and needs reforming, but as has been seen, so does our very own Parliament.

The future of the UK is in political union in Europe, not as an isolated failed state, doing whatever the USA tells them to do.

It’s quite ironic all these anti-EU hoons going on about sovereignty, when they know that for us to be independent would mean us becoming a vassal of the USA.

Yes but they hate Johhny foreigner so they’re ok (!)

I despair at the Tories, they have two instincts:

        1. Get wealthy at any cost
        2. Distrust, even hate, someone who is not the same as them.

When are you lot going to realise our politicians use the EU as a bogeyman to deflect from their own failings and incompetence?

We should not be looking to leave the EU, we should be looking to suspend all our payments on demand of root and branch reform of it, and not pay them until it is done.

There are people in all European countries who feel the same about the unaccountability of the EU.

This does NOT make the EU a bad thing. It has been poorly implemented, because it was done so by politicians, and not by the people.

It is time for a clearout in Westminster – no more Labour, no more Tories, or to quote Morrissey:

“I’ve been dreaming of a time when
The English are sick to death of Labour
        And Tories”

Just why would anyone vote UKIP? The fact is that MEPs have no say in whether the UK stays in Europe – that is a decision for the Westminster Parliament alone. It is a con on the voter for UKIP to stand on this platform in the Euro elections. If you want the UK out of Europe vote for UKIP in the general election by all means – if you want MEPs who are committed to the highest standards of behaviour, vote Jury Team.

Voting to send UKIP to Europe is like voting to send a vegetarian to a steak meal.

Yes, I did see a minor newsreader badgering him, very rudely interrupting him and when challenged she did admit that her salary was £92,000; something you carefully avoided mentioning. When this is compared with an MPs salary of ~£64,000 for a far more arduous and responsible job (in theory at least), I have some sympathy for the MPs.

This does NOT mean that I support the scandalous and immoral abuse of their expense accounts. I presume that they are all in training, so to speak, for this type of troughing that is common in the EU at all levels.

The role of a backbench MP is not much more than that of a less qualified CAB employee. They should be paid accordingly. They should get more for the legislative and standing Committees that they sit on. These should be appointed by the House, according to electoral balance and not by the Whips.

In other words, remove the gifts of the leadership and pay them so that the more they work the more they get paid.

So there were no journalists at this “praise the polish” rally, or they are all lying. Have you got a link to details of how he thanks the Polish?

      • 296
        Kallump says:

Here’s a quote from the Mail, 4th March (again, the day after the BNP web site article).

A Royal Air Force museum spokesman said: ‘The Spitfire in the poster can be identified as belonging to 303 Squadron of the Polish Air Force by the code letters ‘RF’ painted in front of the RAF roundel.
‘303 Squadron operated Spitfires from Northolt, Kirton- in-Lindsey, Coltishall and other RAF stations in the UK between 1941 and 1945 after flying Hurricanes in the Battle of Britain.’

Do you see any similarities to the Telegraph? So who was the Telegraph reporter at the ‘praise the polish rally’ as you put it (there is no name on the piece)? Is it the same reporter as is working at the Mail? That certainly looks like plagiarism to me. Do you think, just maybe, that there weren’t any reporters from the Telegraph or the Mail there. What you fail to see is that they’re not reporting on the press conference at all. They’re reporting on the spitfire image. Technically I suppose they’re not lying but they still pulled the wool over your eyes.

        Here’s a bit from wikipedia;

303 Squadron was the most effective Polish squadron during the Second World War

Again, any similarities to the Telegraph? Remarkable these ‘journalists’ that you seem to hold with such esteem.

Not sure what you meant about that plane not actually flying! It’s just an image used for a campaign you know.

Tribalist conservatives are every bit as repulsive as tribalist socialists.

The tory party has a long and rather shameful record with regard to the EU, that is not mitigated by Thatcher and Majors ultimately futile attempts to limit the impact and loss of sovereign rights, freedoms and traditions for the UK.

The EU is unreformable, it has an inbuilt “creep” that grinds away relentlessly at any unconquered liberty, laws or non-harmonised activity.

The Tories will never be able to reform, recind or even challenge any EU directive ( less offensive word to describe order ) from our real, unelected and unremovable Government in a foreign country.

They can pretend all they want, just like they pretend they are honourable ( a sick sham ), that they have a significantly different agenda than ZanuLabour ( they dont ) or that they are Eurosceptic ( an outright lie ).

The fact is a significant number of people have seen through the political class and their unending lies and want real change.

And I’m not some little Englander – I’ve lived and farmed in three countries in Europe – Spain France and Italy . They play by different rules, and we would be far better off in every way leaving them to it, and running our own fishing policy, agricultural policy, energy policy, waste policy, and above all our own immigration policy.

How about taking matters into your own hands (I believe you consider yourself a “community leader” in Tower Hamlets, if not in Maidstone yet). Think about it, you could just pay back the money, sell the flat, and resign from both the Government and the Housing Association that your family seem to run?

With one simple set of moves like this, you could go away, keep quiet, and may be get a nice little job as volounteer somewhere once you had served your rehabilitation time (say, 10 years).

    Edward Devoy says:

The logical choice for Europe is the only choice, Libertas.eu.
We have already put the EU on notice that democracy, accountability and transparency will be returned to the EU and it’s institutions.
There are those that claim Libertas policies are too vague, they cannot be anything other than vague.
It’s like taking your car or TV to be mended, you and the engineer both know it is broken but he cannot say what he is going to do without looking thoroughly at the problem.
It is the same with the EU we all know it is broken, but we need to look carefully at everything before we can mend it.
Some things of course are obvious like the corruption of MEP’s of all parties, go to http://www.libertas.eu and click on blogs, go to the video “just how dishonest are our MEP’s” have a good laugh and then realise this is just the tip of the iceberg. As for UKIP they claim to want us out of Europe but are not averse to enriching themselves while in it, most are signed up to the contraversial second pension scheme as are the majority of labour and tories. BNP are just too racist, we are a multicultural society not only in the UK but all over the world.

      Europe is the future says:

Agreed, Libertas will get my vote.

At least they have something to offer other than nihilism and more of the same.

The fact that anyone can take a party of has beens like UKIP seriously says a lot about the bigots in this country who still think we’re better than other Europeans.

Remember it was the communist Soviet Union who saved us from Nazi tyranny. It wasn’t the plucky Brits, who had effectively given up by 1940. Nor was it the Americans who we couldn’t persuade to help us, and even charged us for the privilege of their assistance.

And yet we have UKIP and all the other anti-EU oddjobs here suggesting our future lies with America, or as a tiny indepedent nation.

Who will save us from the next war? America? You think so?

Who was the first to join us in declaring war on Germany? yes, that’s right….France.

We are in Europe. Our interests lie in Europe. And our interests as a nation should be focused on cleaning up the EU and reforming it, not abandoning it.

If you are going to discuss history as justification for being in the EU then at least understand it. The French surrendered (as usual) at the first sign of difficulty, the Belgians did the same, in their case without warning, leaving the beleagured British army scrambling to get back to the safety of Blighty so that they could carry on fighting. (Given up by 1940? never heard about North Africa, Malta?) The Germans, the Austrians and, once they thought it was safe, the Italians, were all on the other side. Not too much there to inspire confidence in Europe! If you want to know who really stood staunchly at our side in time of peril (not for the first time) it was our real friends and family – Australia, Canada, New Zealand etc. Let’s join up with them instead. We could call it a Commonwealth!

A party governed by a visceral hatred and distrust of fellow Europeans. What is their plan for how we are to compete with India and China over the next century?

Close the borders and hope our Britishness will see us through?

Our future is in political union with Europe, we just need to reform the EU.

A bad implementation of a good idea does not warrant abandoning the idea itself.

      • 287
        Europe is the future says:

        A wise vote for UKIP?

Get a grip. We are a pathetic little nation that cannot compete on the world stage anymore.

We need to be part of a larger political entity, in order to be able to compete with India and China – our future is pretty bleak otherwise, as we produce little of any real value, and finance will be heading elsewhere over the next few years.

The EU is broken, corrupt and in desperate need of reform. This does not, however, mean the EU is a bad concept.

    Sam Duncan says:

    Wrong, wrong, wrong, EITF.

It hasn’t been “poorly implemented” at all. It’s been damn-near perfectly implemented. This corrupt, undemocratic, supranational leviathan is exactly what was intended from the very start.

You may see the EU as a failing, corrupt, attempt to create a democratic United States of Europe, much like the USA. And you would be dead wrong. The intention always was much closer to a United State of Europe, singular, and democracy was emphatically not to be a part of it. It was an idea born out of the Age of Dictators, and the most charitable interpretation is that it was an attempt to create a benign “dictatorship of the Commission”. The parliament, or “assembly”, was always intended to be what it is: a toothless sop to public opinion.

That’s why Britain “walked out” of the Messina conference. It’s why, along with other northern European countries, we set up EFTA, which has no ambitions towards political union. Those ambitions, and the deliberate suppression of national democracy, have been absolutely central to the pan-European movement since at least the 1920s.

You ain’t about to “reform” them now.

Don’t waste your votes by voting UKIP, B.N.P. Libertas or any of the 3 main parties.
There is only one real alternative party and that is the Jury Team.
Neither Libertas or UKIP can make any real difference and the other lot are way too extreme but by supporting the Jury Team in the Euro elections and in the next general election, you have a real chance to change the system.
As for the European debate itself, the quicker we withdraw from Europe the better. The British have been lied to and conned from start to finish, as far as the E.U./common market is concerned. It’s about time that the public were given a say on the matter. Nobody under 50 years of age has ever been given an opportunity to vote on the E.U. I wonder why that is?
( Btw, for our little conspiracy theorist, have you never read about the 4th Reich? Check it out fella, it’ll make you go w00t! ;-) )
