At Last : Expense Fiddling Politician Charged

At last an expense fiddling politician is to face criminal charges for false accounting and money laundering, Tom Wise is the first MEP to face criminal charges over the abuse of Parliamentary expenses. The former UKIP parlimentarian was arrested in June last year after it was revealed that he had allegedly siphoned off nearly £40,000 of public money by claiming it was for a researcher’s salary.
Wise will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court next Monday on charges that carry a maximum term of 14 years. Guido would like to see Westminster Magistrates court kept busy with a few more cases of expense fiddling MPs from down the road.

What a good start to the day
It is a good start. But a single prosecution is but a token gesture.
http://wikileaks.org:80/wiki/The_Galvin_Report:_Audit_of_160_EU_Parliament_members,_2008
the link to the Galvin report above was confirmed as authentic by TPA
a fascist state taking out it’s political opposition.
Hitler would be proud!
Were the Benefit Fraud adverts filmed in and around Westminster?
Yup, but it is typical that they pick on UKIP and ignore the mass ransacking of our tax revenues by the mainstream parties isn’t it?
He was expelled or removed first by UKIP and he was a cop too.
It won’t put patriots off voting for soley UK based gov’t and democracy I should’t think. All crime should be prosecuted and I hope that this case sets a precedent for political fraudsters. Can I jusst say that if Jackie Smiff’s bath plug replacement had been instead her lost car then she would have claimed on the insurance presumably? She lost or damaged her bath plug so she should cough up herself to replace it. That’s why that matter stinks to me.
Excellent. Almost puts a jaunt into the stride.
Does anyone else feel a little nervous about the fact that he’s UKIP?
Don’t Labour MEPs fiddle?
Consdiering the corruption in Labour and the way J Smith had an opposition MP arrested on false national security charges – I wonder if this chap was arrested for being in annoying UKIP.
When I was in Australia, a Right Wing, anti-immigration politician was arrested and jailed for ‘electoral fraud’. The fraud its self was minor, hardly worth mentioning, and only persued because she was an embarrasement. She was jailed for being a pain.
Could the same be happening here?
Anon can’t you read? – this hoon is not UKIP, and was expelled by that party when his wrongdoing was uncovered. (I’m not in UKIP or any other political party btw)
Indeed, if we also had the Robinsons and the Wintertons that would add to the proceedings nicely.
Anyone for Pork?
The only surprise is that he didn’t have the terror mob knocking down his door……..or searching his Brussels office
Whats the bet that very few MP’s will comment
Let’s now deal with the other thieving bastards.
How much is a seat in Parliament worth? What would be a reasonable price if they were openly sold? What’s the net present value of the expected income streams? Interest rates are low, so the purchase price of a parliamentary career, say 20 years or so, with fantastic pensions, freebies, cheap booze, mind boogling expenses, lobbying opportunities, vast holidays and chances to do outside work as well – must be worth several millions. Say £10-20 million as a starting guess?
Down with the twats that nick OUR money!
Can anyone think of a certain labour MP, maybe urm the home secretary, that we would also like THROWN in prison? Maybe we should start a petition? (We all know those videos were for here not here husband
)
It’s unbelievable that Jacqui Smith is still in her job, let alone not in jail.
Yes, but. No, but .. plug.
I would be happier about this if he was from one of the mainstream political parties and not an independent / ex UKIP.
One cannot help feeling that the European parliament is using expenses fiddling charges to remove opposition, whilst ignoring all the fiddling done by the “on-side” politicians.
By the way, as the Westminster politicians write their own rules, their protestations that their expenses claims are “within the rules” is a little disingenuous.
Quite so. You can’t blame a UKIP MEP for ‘fiddling’ expenses since, by definition, he treats the entire set-up as an expensive charade. What better way to show your contempt than by ripping the fuckers off.
That would be my defence if I were a UKIP porker.
But as you have pointed out the whole thing is just a conveniently timed political trial as favoured by NuLabour. First they came for the BNP’s Nick Griffin and you were not BNP so you said nothing. Then they came for UKIP and you were not UKIP so you did nothing. Then they came for Fred Goodwin but you were not a banker so you did nothing. Then they came for Damian Green…..
This UKIP guy should, like Fred Goodwin, seek political asylum in France. Apparently it is a ‘perfect’ defence ie you cannot be extradited under French Law for political ‘crimes’.
Quite.
I have to agree. I fear that this is a sop, rather than the start of something sustained. interesting that it’s a UKIPper, too. Definitely don’t want them around.
I must also agree. Whilst any troughing politician being caught is good news, I am also sceptical that the first in the dock is a UKIP politician.
Let’s face it, UKIP isn’t exactly in support of the EUSSR is it?
Ffs, the guy has been expelled from UKIP! He has no power at all as an Independent.
Agreed though that most of the others are at – he was just too blantant in using another bank account to do it.
Damn right!
If he was a liebore, tory or libdum nothing would have happened.
Bollocks, he stole money from taxpayers. Which bit of that do you lot NOT understand? It does not matter whether he is UKIP, Tory, Labour or Martian Democratic Water Workers Party – he still STOLE money from the taxpayer.
Makes me sick how in the UK they want to spend their time debating how so-and-so should not be tried since he/she isn’t a part of the main political party network.
Great. But what took so long?
Iy took so long because it had to go to the CPS. Of course they would need some sort of sanction from their masters before moving on a politician. being UKIP he was probably used as a scapegoat!!
That must be the quickest the CPS has ever moved
How about Den Dover Conservative MEP?
http://eureferendum.blogspot.com/2009/04/how-about-some-equality.html
strange there is no prosecution forthcoming there, and there were others publicised at around the same time who went relatively unpunished. And. of course, it’s pretty much business as usual for the crooked lords who were caught at it. Smith, McNulty, Hoon, Wintertons, Keens, …. endless list of hoons who have been concentrating on their own finances while the country’s finances were sinking untended.
Let’s just hope that they have not considered the precedent and the hue and cry that will follow and will engulf all of the corrupt thieving Huhnes.
where are all the Zanu; have they nobbled the authorities?
“”by claiming it was for a researcher’s salary.”"
And how is this different to claiming your sisters bedroom is your main home!!
Let us hope this is the first of many – but I doubt it…..just a sacrifiacial lamb.
Or paying your hubby a £40K “salary” and claiming it as an “expense!” Adding this to a Ministerial salary gives a joint “income” provided by the taxpayer of the order of £200K, and still they feel it necessary to claim for bathplugs, and barbeques to be paid for by the taxpaying public. And what justification(s) have been provided that these items are essential to enable the claimants to perform their public duties?
Hopefully they, and all similar leeches on the public purse will be flushed down their plughole(s), snet there by the “Court of Public Opinion, AKA A General Election!!!
Dunsinane Mr MacBeth, Dunsinane!
How about a whole flock of sheep….ie the Kinnocks?
Shouldn’t he also have to have an annual Gas Safety Certificate for his mouth?
more of that please !
To do something as crass and stupid as that, when there are so many “legitimate” ways of fiddling MEPs expenses simply beggars belief. What a fucking idiot.
told you about this yesterday
Quite right too but they’ll never touch the NuLab and Tory MPs who, along with lGorbals Mick, will get away with it.
And Den Dover is about to retire without repaying any of the £500,000 they wanted him to pay back.
Nice job for an ex-MP. Those sad gits getting 88p for their bathplugs really are in the wrong job.
It would be good to think this is the first of money. Unfortunately experience suggests this will be the scapegoat.
Freudian slip!
An exceptional case – brought on by envy I think.
From FUKUP’s site:
“The UK Independence Party is the fourth largest political party in the UK. We currently have nine members of the European Parliament who use their positions exclusively to expose the true nature of the EU and to campaign for British withdrawal.”
Yeah, right. “.. use their positions exclusively to feather their own sordid little bank accounts ..” would be more appropriate. Can not think for the life of me of a more corrupt, dishonest and morally bereft party. Oh wait … yes I can – Labour.
He’s not a UKIP MEP. If you’re going to sling accusations like “corrupt, dishonest and morally bereft party” around, at least strive for some minimal degree of accuracy
Not any more but he entered the EU under the UKIP flag
He was a cop ffs. Are you seriously suggesting that this is endemic of UKIP? Obviously the former role as an officer was considered worthy enough for UKIP selection. I would trust UKIP with the future of my children right now and that’s good enough for me.
Do you live in a monastery?. You need to get out more.!
And they expelled him.
It’s regrettable that apparent trolls on here are using this incident to tar UKIP
(of which I’m not a member). Please get it right before sounding off
And UKIP is obviously free of any charge of screwing the EU expense system is it? As Stevo says, you really need to get out more mate.
About time!
You were a bit late breaking this story though, the BBC news site posted it yesterday.
Thought your appearance on The Daily Politics yesterday was a good one, can’t believe how fair to you they were on the BBC, actually Andrew Marr seemed positively warm to you!!
Anyway, keep up the good work.
It was Andrew Neil, not Marr.
Both ugly cunnts, though!
No identity parade work for you.
Just for the record, you looked as thick as ever.
At least you’ve cleaned up the site a bit, dull though by God it’s dull.
One down…more to follow as sure as eggs is eggs!
Don’t hold your breath.
UKIP are paying £40K for a RESEARCHER for MEPs? Cool. OK here’s the assignment:
Austria’s ambassador to the UK, Gabriele Matzner-Holzer, asked why there were no jokes about the European Union, and appealed to anyone who knew one to let her know.
Maybe the whole European Union has become a sorry joke?
how come ‘maybe ‘ slipped into that sentence.
Oh, Come On!!! There must be endless scope for jokes about the EU. That has got to be a whole new thread!!!
Well, where are they?
What do you get if you cross an MEP with a duck?
A corrupt duck.
What happens when you engage in ever closer union?
You get f**ked.
Hear the one about the holier-than-thou UKIP member who only got voted in as an MEP in order to bring down the system from within?
He’s up on charges of corruption
Boom Boom!

How come that the first Trougher brought to account is from a fringe party when there is a choice of many more from the mainstream? Anybody else smell the stink when an anti EU politician is first for the chop? I’ve got no time for UKIP but I might just drum up a pony for his defence fund.
leave animals out of this you grumpy old pervert
Bwahahahaha!
What a surprise.
Who would have thought that it would be a FORMER UKIP member!
Nice try by ZanuLabour at shit deflection.
If there were more like him, busy bankrupting Brussells whilst doing what little they can to prevent the cause of ‘ever closer union’, we would be lucky!
Agreed PCm the timing of this is interesting!
What wonderful news. We raelly do need to begin making hand carts for the others. What a wonderful thought, Balls, Hoon, Brown et al being wheeled through the streets of london to the peoples court. Must practise mi knitting.
More McBride shit…
http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2009/apr/21/damian-mcbride-whitehall-media-no10
We are obviously paying for a vast number of Directors and MPs, why both? How can we organise or petition for UN Electoral Oversight, UN website does not give any clues.
This will never happen with any of the Lab/Con/Lib mob.
They write the rules, they decide if the rules are broken. Which is why we have no faith.
Well, well, well, deary me, well, well, well; stone me an MEP (former) who didn’t believe in the E.U. doing very nicely out of the trough, just goes to show doesn’t these policicians do not practice what they preach.
OT
Brown ignored repeated warnings and now Britain is on the edge of bankruptcy:
“Michael Saunders UK economist at Citigroup, said the prospect of a gilt strike was no longer unlikely.
“There is no doubt we are closer to the edge now than we have been in ages,” he said. “How close are we? That is unknowable — it’s akin to being on a cliff edge in the pitch black. There may be a level of fiscal deficit at which people could lose faith in the Government’s commitment to economic flexibility. The fact that we don’t know how close we are to the edge is part of the difficulty. The IMF warned them, the OECD warned them, the European Commission warned them and the Government dismissed the warnings.”
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/5190512/Markets-braced-for-historic-200bn-deficit.html
My understanding is that he was doing no different to what a lot of Westminster MPs are currently doing, only in his case it was in breach of the EU rules for MEPs’ expenses. As there appears to be a virtual free-for-all in the UK, it seems hardly likely we’ll see a similar prosecution of a parliamentary member here.
I suppose he does get some credit – ‘breaking the rules’ is no mean achievement.
Interesting legal position. Two people living in the same country could behave in the same way. One will brake the law because he works for an European organisation, the other will not because he works for a UK organisation.
Saddened to see you didn’t put you signature to this Guido
Nice bloggers code
And there was me thinking you were a closet Fabian.
tit – best to stay a free spirit rther than get tied up in red tape. the motherhood statements are just the start (like the EU)
I looked at this. It is a bloggers charter for labourites who are trying to convince a small and closed clique of bloggers that they are reformed.
A large quantity of the related blogs have the same tone and degree of interest as the full page adverts of fine print which used to be taken out by Kim Il Sung in the press.
Guido is alien to them. One reason is that his site is entertaining as well as informative. The comments section here has the same freedom of expression as the wall of a public toilet. Some of it is highly entertaining. some of it is vulgar and entertaining, some of it is just vulgar.
I look on it as a focus group; this is the way people are in their natural state. Homophobic , racist and vulgar, despite being told that they have got to be different.
Public policy should be based on reality, otherwise it is doomed to failure.
Always nice to reply to my own comments. I noticed on ‘reading’ to the bottom of this dismal tract that Guido had a posted a few words of wisdom.
Sir Reginald, it is a Labour Conspiracy, not a Liberal Conspiracy.
If they meant any of that load of tosh, they’d have stopped McBride and Draper, wouldn’t they? Hoons the lot of them!
It is like a gang of bankrobbers signing an agreement not to steal anything.
Funny that it was a UKIP politician.
It sends two messages to the wishful thinking sheople. (1) UKIP are more corrupt than everyone else. (2) UKIP are so incompetent they don’t even know how to snaffle the expenses on offer. So, whether you think politicians are guilty of troughing (i.e. rogues), or whether you think they are merely totally incompetent hoons (i.e. fools), UKIP get the spin “treatment”.
I would like to know which particular political opportunists were behind this. Zanu liebore, tories, the EUSSR?
my thoughts entirely. who grassed him in?
And isn’t it odd that this occurs just prior to EU elections?
NOTW did an expose on him, they got him on video boasting about how he was abusing the system. Interestingly, he was honest enough to admit he did not know what an MEP was supposed to do other than claim expenses. In truth, he is probably representative of an awful lot of them.
“One cannot help feeling that the European parliament is using expenses fiddling charges to remove opposition, whilst ignoring all the fiddling done by the “on-side” politicians”
I agree with this. What I can’t understand why people are getting into a froth about this when there is an institutional culture of exploiting expenses in Brussels. The MEPs’ lost most of their pension fund from betting in the market – and have been bailed out by European taxpayers, many of whom won’t get the same protection.
At the same time as the Tories are attempting to get as much mileage out of Alice Mahon’s resignation as possible, they’re missing the real scandal. Mahon admitted that the Lisbon Treaty was a renamed Constitution, designed so that they wouldn’t have to hold a vote on it.
If you want a party who are going to challenge the culture of Brussels, you need to have a party who have aims that rise above domestic politicking and squabbling: Libertas.

Richard Littlejohn calls Gordon Brown a sociopath:
“Brown’s Britain is a failed state. Labour has to go and go now.
We don’t need another smoke-and-mirrors Budget, we need an immediate general election to rid us of this unelected Scottish sociopath and his self-serving gang of crooks, liars, political pygmies and smear-merchants.”
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1172181/LITTLEJOHN-We-need-election–Budget.html
And there is more …
Brown is a toxic confection of narcissism, naked ambition, cowardice, bullying, bombast and bubbling resentment, with a volcanic, self-pitying temper and vindictive streak the width of the Firth of Forth.
His overblown sense of entitlement is only matched by his ludicrously inflated opinion of his own abilities. He has never been able to disguise his pathological contempt for those he considers to be his intellectual inferiors – which pretty much covers the whole of mankind.
He is an accomplished and instinctive liar, genetically incapable of accepting any responsibility for his own mistakes, who seeks to crush dissent with a ruthlessness which would give a Mafia don pause for thought. ”
Like it!
“And what is Richard Littlejohn?”
Not an unelected Prime Minister.
Sime – that seems a fair and restrained view of Brown.
paras: 11-14 of Littlejohn’s piece appear to me to be a particularly succinct appraisal of the ongoing “Kangaroo loose in the top paddock” situation. May I quote RL?
“I’ve never bought into the prudent Son-of-the-Manse routine. He has all the sincerity of a bent American televangelist, praising the Lord while simultaneously stealing the congregation’s hard-earned and chasing every passing cheerleader.

Sums it up for me…..
hear hear!
Littlejohn has McMental sussed out and marked to a tee.
And what is Richard Littlejohn?
Richard Littlejohn is obviously a fair minded man with a distinctive restrained appraisal of the Great Leader.
Great – now for the extended Kinnock clan who have been racking it in over there for years.
Nobody would dare question Kinnock about expenses. The Welsh Windbag would bore the tribunal to death.
the Welsh winbag and his missus must have trousered millions
And daughter/son-in-law.
And thirty years ago he was very anti-Europe.Then the pound signs started to appear.
To quote Alfred Doolittle in Pygmalion “Principles? Can’t afford ‘em.And neither could you in my position.”
Are we talking about Lord Pillock? The same bloke who was anti-snobs and the HoL then took up the additional gravy train offer at the first opportunity.
A fringe politician and anti-EU campaigner eh?
Maybe the guy who writes DoverWatch was right when he made this comment – http://doverwatch.blogspot.com/2009/04/order-of-boot.html
The troughing was noted and acted upon by UKIP, that is the story here. Fellow party members did not rally around him pleading misreading of the rules and the need to move on….. he was out…. and rightly so.
In March 2007, UK Independence Party MEPs voted to withdraw the whip from Tom Wise following allegations that he had been misusing parliamentary allowances. Since that time he has not been a UK Independence Party MEP, despite his claims to the contrary.
Mr Wise had not informed the party of actions which were being taken against him and this was considered a severe breach of trust.
Under the rules of the party he was banned from holding any office or seeking candidature. He is sitting as an Independent MEP.
Nigel Farage MEP
Leader of the UK Independence Party Sunday, 11th May 2008
Please do not interrupt this hatefest by introducing irrelevant things like facts.
It stinks. Why not the usual sensational media revalations; ‘I’ve done nothing wrong’; ‘…within the rules’; ‘ repaid the money; referred to speaker/commissioner/independent inquiry; general public forgets as next revelations come out? No, straight to prosecution (quite right too if he has been troughing), but one can’t help noticing the difference.
Don’t worry, you’ll soon be renamed “Burgermonkey”.
At last a part with principles.
Show me the way to the polling station.
care to publish your expenses, Mr Farage?
thanks haddock i was just going to do some research to anwser these comments
Contrary to Haddock (42) Tom Wise did inform the UKIP party that allegations were being made. If Haddock lived in the Eastern region he would know a lot more. With regards to Tom’s charges with Lindsay Jenkins, also being implicated, the story I heard from a from a very good source was along these lines. Tom was quite within his rights to accept money in advance for a researcher, however, the period she was needed was not as long as expected. His secretary reminder Tom that repayment was needed which he promply carried out. Sadly he then got reported otherwise.
Seems odd, with the EU elections looming that UKIP are getting bad press. Still, if it means Conservatives getting more votes to screw Nulab, then no bad thing.
In the EU parliament it is irrelevant if we get “Conservatives getting more votes to screw Nulab” – neither has any power. The only vote worth using is a protest vote because the LibLabCon are all europhile to slightly varying degrees.
Jeez. HE WAS EXPELLED BY UKIP as was his predecessor who transgressed
Politics inevitably attracts more of the wrong kind of person than any other profession, and no doubt UKIP gets its share. At least he’s been honest enough to expose the fact that MEPs have no power and are wasting their time sitting in that pretence of a ‘Parliament’ – just as our MPs are
Sadly most of us feel obliged come election time to choose the ‘least worse’ option. The alternative, sitting on our hands at home, may give a sense of satifaction but it often condemns the country to the WORST option – look at the last 12 years. Stay at hoem ‘voters’ are as much to blame as NuLab voters for the bankruptcy of our country and the dissolution of our social structure.
And especially for our rule from Brussells. It’s time the sheeple realised it:
We are ruled by the EU Commissioners – NOT by MEPs nor by MPs.
“Funny that it was a UKIP politician…”
Well it would have been if he had of been…
But the fact is this would never have happened if he had been in one of the mainstream pro-EU Parties
And what a safe expenses bust, eh Guido? A lone Independent MEP, independent even of UKIP, with no great spin machine to frighten off the newspapers, no one to care if he is threatened with ‘life imprisonment’ by government goons as was Damian Green.
But a good start, I suppose.
Spot on, an isolated sacrifial lamb/scapegoat/patsy picked off so the mass can go about their usual affairs ie making themselves millionaires at the pig trough.
Hey its a jungle out there in gravytrain land and if you dont happen to have powerful friends to shield you then its fair to push the ‘nonny no friends’ into the monster jaws first and hope the monster eats you last or gets full and wanders off.
I seem to remember not so long ago a French TV crew filming Euro politicians signing in on a Friday morning then leaving the Parliament building very quickly to go home. In fact they became quite angry when they realised their cheating was being caught on film. One Euro Green MEP even got stuck waiting for a lift and could not escape being filmed, so fled down the nearest stairs. Quite rightly, the security got rid of the film crew as soon as possible. How dare they expose these fraudulent bastards?
Talking of fraud I see that the waste of space, commonly known as “Gorbals Mick” has yet again been caught sucking at the tit of the taxpayers purse. His constituency is ten miles square and he has claimed over £6,000 in two years for motoring expenses. It’s sad that he cannot live on his absurdly high salary in his grace and favour apartments at Westminster, so he is forced to minicab at night to make up his meagre income. In fact I bet his wife was doing her shopping using “Mick’s Cabs”.
Actually I think it is about time that Gorbals Mick was shown the door. Not because he is absolutely useless at his job and looks like an ugly, fat, cheating pig, but because he is giving the fraudulent expenses brigade such a bad name. He really does need further lessons in how to defraud the taxpayer in a much less obvious way.
It was a German film crew actually, sorry to nitpick! otherwise you are spot on, lying cheating crooked twofaced bastards and notice how many were socialists and greenies!
These comrades of the common people are anything but!
Mr Martin has just returned from his Easter holiday which was another £8000 theft from the taxpayer.
Gorbals Mick is an absolute disgrace, not only the most partisan Speaker we have had for centuries but largely responsible for the contempt in which Parliament is now held. If nothing before had prompted his resignation, then allowing the police to ransack a shadow minister’s office was surely cause.
It’s a disgrace that NuLab engineered his ‘election’ to the hallowed Chair against all precedent, and it’s even more of a disgrace that they allow him to continue in office
He’ll get a slap on the wrist.
A non-story Guido
Hope your sources aren’t drying up
We need you to get the big boys in your sights, not some poor sap who was too thick to run a proper expenses fiddle.
What price he’d have been sacked if he was a Labour MEP?
Hear, hear – this a distraction from more important stuff
Just see it as a taste of things to come ;0)
There’s bound to be a sense of anti-climax after the removal of McBride, a period of calm while a new storm gathers strength unseen.
Would not happen in Westminister.
5 bellies should be next
No worries she won’t be a MP after the election – Redditch will go Conservative
But will she still have our bathplugs?
Do not be so sure the results will reflect the verdict of the court of public opinion
Be better when a major party makes the tackling of expense excess at national and European level a manifesto pledge. The mechanisms by which politicians set their own remuneration are the reason they have become self-serving, rather than servants of the people
Agree 100%
The EU make our lot look like amateurs, but they are all at it – and by all, I mean all Parties; there are some MPs who play by the spirit as well as the wording of the rules.
Come on Cameron – let’s see some clear water. You should make us want to vote FOR you – please don’t just sit back and wait for a vote AGAINST Brown.
Elections are never won the other side looses.
Agreed!
Voting for the one that will not be as bad as the other assumes neither is fit for purpose.
Basically I prefer not to be robbed and conned at all!
Why would the Conservatives want to publish their policies just yet ? – Brown will only “nick them” as he always does as tell the gullible media that he was lready thinking along the same lines whilst working “tirelessly for hard-pressed British families”
This is my litmus test for Cameron.
If he cannot see it; he’s failed already.
The time for a change is the beginning of the next parliament, so that every MP knows what the rules are and what his or her terms of employment are.
In return for this; we as voters let them all start with a clean slate, on only one condition, that if there any breaches of the rules the person concerned is kicked out by his or her constituency and by Parliament, as quickly as possible.
Just in from Downing Street:
Wee Eck has put up £95 million to help pay for social housing build by Scottish Councils (aka Cooncil hooses, ye ken) this clearly bad because it is meetin a real need…….. so Broon is putting billions into private house builders hands to build houses in England, not social housing… just builder’s current estates and their profit and this is good!
Glad to see the troughing Huhne get it (and I am a UKIP supporter) but obviously he has been singed out by the EUSSR for the show trial treatment. It will be troughing as usual for the Lib/Lab/Con/Green Huhnes.
For those of you unable to comprehend what Guido has written – pay attention!
Guido said “former Ukip parlimentarian”. What part of ‘former’ do you not understand?
That’s right. The UKIP expelled him form the party when they found out he had been caught.
That’s more than you can say of the other parties.
When is Jacqui Smith going to get the boot?
Who the hell in the future is going to become a poilitician if you’re not allowed to lie, cheat, thieve, buy bathroom plugs, watch porn movies at the taxpayers expense.
This is a very bad day for democracy when you are not allowed to shaft the very people who voted for you.
Too close to the truth to be funny.
It IS the truth.
Just watch that you don’t get prosecuted for saying it.
Democracy? Constituents exhort their MP to vote against something and said MP trots along to Westminster where the party leader says vote for it. That’s a perverse brand of democracy.
Just like the union leaders getting together where it’s ‘my 5 million votes say ….’, ‘I’ll see your 5 million and raise you …’. Fuck what the members think.
It’s just a game they play while drawing fat salaries and immoral expenses on their journey to gold-plated pensions.
An Independent MEP, ex-UKIP, anti-EU caught at the trough? Yeah, right – just a ‘smear the UKIP’ tactic I’m afraid rather than any attempt to actually clean out the Augean stable.
As for fatso Gorbals & his troughing Mrs – they’d both be improved by a small lead deposit – between the eyebrows.
At around 2000 ft per sec.
Good to see that someone is at last to me made accountable for gross misuse of taxpayers money.
I wonder why it started with an independent, and not one of the cabinet.
Who? What about the big dogs?
I think this could go in UKIPs favour.
Their scumbags get their cumuppance – while the other parties scumbags somehow get off scot free.
I know this isn’t strictly related to the party and its own actions etc, but it does give a good impression…
Its a bit sad that seeing justice is considered an impressive thing rather than the norm
. But its a step up from all the other scumbag cases.
I’d vote for Dan Hannan if I had the choice, but given where I live I’ll vote again for Nigel Farage
There was dancing down our village street when East Anglia voted in the first UKIP MEP
The loathing of Europe in rural Britain and esp on our coasts has to be heard to be appreciated
Govt ministers and spin doctors should try a rural pub-crawl one evening – tho they’d need to be in heavy disguise. Or maybe not, the courts would be full next day with victims of the ‘thought police’
Guido get in touch with this guy and see if he can take some of the fuckers with him.
Er excuse me Minister but didn’t you have your “red Box” with you when you boarded the train ?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8009440.stm
Alex Belardinelli has previous form for partisan activity on behalf of his guvnor Rt Hoon Ed Balls.
According to Iain Dale ( 23 November 2007 ), Belardinelli breached Sp Ad regulations in his attempted rubbishing of Michael Gove by penning political attack snippets for Schools Minister Jim Knight.
Given Balardinelli’s ‘charming’ personality a steady stream of leaks on Balls/ Beardinelli machinations are winging their way to Guido.
I think the party list system is sh*t – but given the fact we have it…
Surely if an MEP is expelled from their party, they should leave the EU parliament and the next person on their parties list should replace them…
No one voted for these people, the electorate literally voted for the party…
Agreed. Ditto for national MPs sadly – any crossing of the floor or resignation shoudl automatically trigger a by-election. the Shaun Woodwards of this world might then think twice about abrogating their contract with their constituents. Most MPs cross the floor for career reasons, and those who do it for reasons of principle do resign
Wow! An organisation which is incapable of getting its accounts audited has a show trial of one of its critics – a big clean up? I doubt it.
The charge is that he claimed money for a legitimate reason, but did not launder it through a family member as most MPs and MEPs do.
Why shouldn’t MEPs pay their wives to do their secretarial work? It’s better than just giving them “housekeeping money” which they will spend going shopping and playing bridge all day!
Because they are dividing their income across two or more sets of tax allowances. They should abide by the same rules that they impose on us all.
We should show great leniency in the punishments metered out to the thieving MEPs and members of parliament including members of the House of Lords.
They should all be given very long suspended sentences…
…from a gallows in parliament square
But there would be no one left, the Houses of Parliament could become a reborn Woolworths selling porn movies and used bathroom plugs.
Or..just withdraw from the political structure of the EUSSR. No need for UK MEPs at all and save money. Or suspend membership until they produced audited accounts.
How many of us do business, or would countenance doing business with any organisation that can’t produce audited accounts?
Why is Jaqcui Smith still in charge of prisons and not actually locked up in one?
Simple question – and for me a snapshot of a new terrible reality in the UK.
You can add Wendy Alexander (criminal breech of PPER 2000) or David Marshall (£500,000 of dubious Westminster expenses over which he ‘resigned Glasgow North seat’ on ill health grounds) to your list of MP’s/ MSPs who should be locked up for illegal activities.
Then there are Harman, Hain, Straw etc…..
..and Brown’s Smith Institute…and the fake charities given taxpayers money to promote Labour propaganda…and the unions given taxpayers money to recycle to the Labour party…and the Abrams donations…and the campaign donations they can never remember to declare until someone reveals them…
It’s a start but as many have pointed out, he’s an independent, when we see MEP’s/MP’s from the main parties being prosecuted (and I doubt we’ll see any MP’s prosecuted) then things might start to change.
Are there any continental MEP’s in the frame or is it just the corrupt British?
Daily Politics Live Chat today from 11:45am here: DAILY POLITICS LIVE CHAT
I will be hosting a Live Chat on the Budget tomorrow from 11:30am, get your anoraks out. Usual place.
Not just the British. A few years ago an aid organisation I did some work with told me of a visit by MEPs to their offices in Holland. A Greek MEP shamelessly boasted that he was claiming a full travel allowance first class by air from Greece to the visit location in Holland, even thought he only had to get the train from Brussels.
No ticket stubs or receipts needed. They’re all at it. It is a huge con.
I’ll be in a small minority on here. I feel sorry for Tom Wise. If he were part of the Euro-establishment, all this would be covered up. He’s just not gone sufficiently ‘native’. He’s much less of a crook that the big fat leeches who support the dishonest system that is the EU gravy train. Normally, the only people punished by the EU are whistle-blowers. Tom suppports Maria Andreasson (the ‘top’ whistle-blower within the EU) —he must be smacked.
Still, the trial is more good than bad; it’ll highlight yet again the awful corruption within the EU.
His best defence is the one used by the chaps at Longbridge long ago when they were fired for showing up for night shift with a sleeping bag. Naturally Red Robbo called out the boys so we were saved from another batch of rusting Allegros and Princesses for a few days.
Anyhoo their defence (accepted) was that they were just carrying out normal practice. That the management had known this was going on for years and said nothing and so it was unfair to single them out.
‘Workers’ reinstated. Union power re-established. Everybody back to work bolting pieces of shit together and selling them to a captive UK public, shielded from superior imports by massive taxes.
But it’s all Maggie’s fault you know.
Ah! those were the days. The likes of Red Robbo, Derek “Degsy” Hatton, Draper et al only come round every couple of generations, thereby depriving innocent lefties in the intervening years of an insight into what they are voting for.
Forgot to mention Arthur in the rogues gallery!
I think you will find that if he is banged up, whilst he is inside he is still entitled to the relocation allowances when the European Parliament moves between Brussels and Strasburg. It’s only fair!
Will he still be allowed a housing / prison allowance, and what if they don’t have bathroom plugs & porn movies…….can he still claim?
He’ll get moved between Pentonville & The Scrubs in harmony with the troughers doing the Brussels/Strasbourg shuttle!!
http://therantingkingpenguin.blogspot.com/2009/04/ten-square-miles-speaker-martins-little.html
Poor Speaker Martin, exhausted in the service of the proles.
How convenient that they picked someone from a minor opposition party like UKIP though. I’m not condoning it but there are much bigger fish in the Labour and Conservative parties
Nothing, in 4 decades of seething at the venality of our political classes, has made me so angry as the greed and dishonesty that has recently come to light. J Smith is an utter disgrace and a snivelling excuse maker too. The plain fact is that the greedy pigs make up their own rules expressly to enable them to drive horses and carts through their own loopholes.
They are degenerates and as corrupt as the French aristocracy who were brought to book by the ordinary people.
I would certainly turn out to cheer at the trials of the ‘courts of public opinion’ and would bring hampers of tuck and lashings of pop to watch the delivery of the sentences.
Punishments should be exemplary – ‘Pour encourager les autres’!
We’re told that Sharia law is coming to Britain. Let’s use MP’s as an experiment. Cut off their hands, as thieves. If that doesn’t work – cut off their heads!
The first of a lot of snout troughers.
Great news for pigs.
It makes them look better than most MPs, which they probably are…
As the saying goes – “Pour encourager les autres – mon brave” – there will be some in Parliamentary ranks who will sleep less easier in their beds as they await publication of their expenses shortly because of this !!!
What do you mean, “probably”? Pigs don’t claim 88p for a bath plug
Quite right HMP Brixton. They don’t. They’re much too well bread to steal.
I think all politicians do that, may some of them a bit less (lets say £10 quids for a couple of porn DVD’s), however overall I believe they always find a way to get as much as possible with ‘extra’ claims, trips and all sort of gifts from the private sector too.
Kisses from London.

How would you do that wifey stuff and have a girlfriend on the side? I can see it causing confusion. (I’m using the hetro model, but homo applies as well)
I’m sure there must be different frequencies otherwise the whole country would be permanently in orgasm. ( come to think of it….not a bad idea)
Maybe you need to log on with an email, usename and password?
I like the bit about “A touch activated ring.”
Has Mandy seen this?
oohh you are aweful!!
but you can touch it if you like!!
it’s v. sensitive!! – and who knows WHERE it might lead!!!
mmmm….
Wonder if they do different sized ‘rings’?
Jacqui would be the first to sign up for this to check Dicky Timney’s extra-marital viewing exertions!!
Vice-versa would Dicky know which belly of five to focus on!!
nothing new here, Gordon Brown has been fucking the UK while living on another planet for a long time now.
OK, so who did he offend or upset? Why is this MEP so different from all the others? Oh, hang on… he’s UKIP!
UKIP threw him out.
No, – let me speak! I INSIST ON BEING HEARD!!!
I would just like to take this opportunity to again thank Taxpayers for my lovely Bath Plug.
It is very nice.
Thank you.
Can I also thank you for the cable tv, can I now charge you for a wrist support ?
Did one just like it feature in a recent film.
This story was in the Times newspaper 2 years ago, Wise is an ex copper, Ukip is infested with more of the same but their FEW supporters are always the last to find out.
More!
Pigs are nice intelligent animals much abused throughout the world. With pigs you see what you get and you get what you see. If only MPs were all as good as the pigs.
Comparisons between MPs and Pigs seem unfair to me. Pigs deserve better…
Dogs look up to you.
Cats look down on you.
Pigs treat you as equals.
But some are more equal than others…
Wasn’t it sad news about The Titanic? I thought that ship was built like the Labour Government and unsinkable. They should watch out for growlers.
Growlers? Who’s been watching telly then?
Poor old Tom. All the hundreds of MEPs troughing away and he is the only one getting it in the neck and for a paltry £40000. Den dover is walking away with £500000 and gratuities and pensions. No prosecution for him or jail term.
ex- UKIPER Tom is taking the rap for the whole of Brussels and the show trial is happening just before the June EU Empire elections. Anyone smell a very big rat ? Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. manipulation by our political masters is now unbearable.
Nothing to do with this thread, but Old Holborn brings this to our attention.
Just imagine if we all wear one of these at our next demonstration the fuzz would not give us with a back hander…….

Why the Barclay sisters persist with her is beyond me.
We have got to start getting rid of these parasites. They have handed themselves an open cheque book at our expense. No wonder they’re not too keen on us getting all the information regarding their expenses. Their shredders must be working overtime!
They should be made to account for every penny they spend with a receipt. No receipt – no payment. We have to do this so why shouldn’t they!
They follow a series of claims about the misuse of the generous expenses on offer in Brussels, including the Conservative Chief Whip Den Dover being required to pay back £445,000 in “unaccountable expenditure”.
Wot? Little Me???
Guido, you are going about this by viewing this corruption problem from the wrong end of the telescope.
You are concentrating your efforts on the addict not the supplier.
The people who SHOULD be getting arrested are the people who voted for, and or devised such a corruptible system in the first place.
Find out which politicians past of present voted in such a potential creator of graft, and blackmail.
Our politicians are VICTIMS of a system, created by our ESTABLISHMENT. In this case our establishment being represented by CIVIL-SERVANTS, who are the architects of this sort of thing. Always baring in mind that an equally corrupted system would have been devised for civil-service pay, pensions, and expenses to help grease the situation.
Leaders of a country – as MP’s are supposed to be, should have the moral strength to resist such blandishments, and to impose better standards on each other and on the country. They are supposed to make the laws. They are responsible for accepting bad laws and failing to make better laws. This ‘Nuremburg Defence’ of only obeying the rules is quite inappropriate for people who are supposed to be making the rules. Those who have ‘gone along to get along’ show that they should never have been MP’s; they are followers not leaders. They only get where they are because their electors are also corrupt and greedy.
Dear old Tom,
Tom was a good friend of ours prior to his going over to the EU. We have stayed in his home in Hertfordshire and he was always a honest decent sort of chap.
Now he seems to be as dishonest as the rest of them, but not experienced enough a criminal to stay free.
Here is a good example of “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
I am, of course, presuming the old chap is guilty. But with all that money sloshing around, it is very difficult to stay on-side.
About the only good that can come of this if he is found guilty, the courts are setting a precedent, and we can get more of the bastards there.
Ampers
Bought and sold, for EU gold,
Sic a parcel o’ rogues in a nation.
The got bloke caught, or likely stiched up because he is, sorry was, a UKIP member. Lets remember what the corrupt lot of bastards are like. They may, I hope, become victims of their actions, as they are all on the fiddle. Can’t wait to see or hear what comes out of the woodwork, when or if it goes to trial!
The old song, Iv’e got the MEP’s( MP’s )job at last you can stuff the red* flag up your arse *( could read green blue, any).
Most of the thieving fiddling bastards are at it. The EU auditers know this, they will never sign off the books. Yet we all go on paying.
Lets have a vote on the EU, Mr Mc Broon as you promised, YOU HAVEN’T GOT THE GUTS, well maybe under your belt!! sod off back to Scotland, and retire under a dung heap with all the other slimy creatures. MMM musn’t be cruel to slimy creatures!!
That would be most upsetting for Vagant Cardinal Lynton and Donna Aperture of Freebie.
Surely Guido wouldn’t want to prejudice the outcome of a possible criminal trial by suggesting that the chap is guilty? Would m’learned friends be averse to bringing contempt of court proceedings against this blog? Not only that, is there not the risk of incurring a defamation writ should he be let off scot free?
Perhaps Guido’s in the Court of Public Opinion. Harperson says it’s OK, so it must be.
Den Dover is being investigated still by the the European Anti-Fraud Office. I wonder when it will reach the headlines again?
When is the european anti fraud office going to Investigate the E.U.
Never.
We dealt with him and that other creep Ashley Mote very fast even though we could least afford to lose representation as a small party. If we could only say the same thing about the other parties.
It’s over baby, don’t cry!
Well said and well done. Some of us appreciate how hard it is to weed out bad eggs in a small party where every head counts, and it;s easy to be seduced by anyone who is prepared to put in the time and effort.
Meanwhile cut out the factionalism ffs, it puts off so very many of us who share your aims – bigtime
whoopsy-daisy
Now then Giles, get back in your box!
Labour hang the UKIP man as the scapegoat, meanwhile the rest of the pigs keep troughing. Laughable if it wasn’t so depressingly dire!
This must be too complicated for the typical commenter on the Daily Mail. It’s been up for nine hours and the number of comments so far is NIL.
It shows just how really thick they are.
Four wheels on their wagon and Labour keeps rolling along.
Halliburton, was after pay, they pulled Tone’s hair,
Bush was there, Iraq’s the dare
But they’re singing a happy song, it goes:
Directorships for Tony and all his cronies
Back pocket money, mainly in Ponies.
A year up the road there’s a national election
And we can watch those Nats; go galloping by.
Three wheels on their wagon and Labour keeps rolling along.
Taliban in Afghanistan, we’ve got no troops,
Bush says poop, Tone says oops!
But they’re singing a happy song, it goes:
Chorus.
Two wheels on their wagon and Labour keeps rolling along.
Wee Eck’s in power, Wee Wendy just glowers,
Broon pulls his hair, it’s just not fair.
But they’re singing a happy song, it goes:
Chorus.
One wheel on their wagon and Labour keeps rolling along.
The credit crunch, brings up Brown’s lunch,
Oil price at max, there’s whisky tax.
But they’re singing a happy song, it goes:
Chorus:
No wheels on their wagon so Labour’s not rolling along.
They’ve lied so much, to folk and such,
They’ve had their chance, a failed romance.
But they’re singing their happy song, it goes:
Chorus:
Good to see charges brought at last.
But isn’t it interesting that the only one charged is a UKIP MP?
Those scandals involving Labour and Conservative MPs never resulted in charges.
Where’s 195 Guidiot?
You claim you’re a Librarian.
The EUSSR may just have bitten off more than they can chew here, especially with Euro-elections coming up.
This development should be welcomed and cheered from the rooftops as it provides a golden opportunity for a full-blown and extensively publicised wholesale exposure of this corrupt and unaccountable organisation. He will probably be found guilty, but I hope he gets a competent defence team who will be prepared to go the extra kilometre or two to get the abuses and corruption of this entire shitstream fully out in the open right across Europe. One member of the team should be delegated to ensure that as they emerge all the sleazy details are sent to every news, radio, and tv organisation in every member country.
Maybe when ordinary folks realise what is going on under their noses they may wake up and demand serious changes.
Anyone know the last time the auditors signed off on the EU’s books?
No – I can’t remember either!
Have not read as above but look at Brown on no 10 tv re expenses! FFS the man has no shame – Cameron and Clegg should tear him to pieces after he dissed them in the Commons only two weeks ago!! What a ******* hoon! and that smile – scary!!
From the Nepali Times – but apposite I think:
‘This government has decided to be incompetent, feckless and inefficient and that is good – because over the decades we have become accustomed to our governments behaving idiotically. That is why it would be good if the government of the day notified the citizenry beforehand if it changes its mind and decides its going to be a smart ass. That way we would be prepared for any nasty surprises.’
http://www.nepalitimes.com.np
The only reason the one eyed snot eater is doing this next week is to divert attention from the budget. We all know it takes a few days for the ‘real budget’ (i.e. the higher hidden stealth taxes) to come out.
This statement and debate next week gives the shit sniffers like toenails Robinson, wingnut Marr and Michael Prick to divert the attention away from the real bad news in the budget.
Just you watch.
Robinson will have difficulty keeping his eyebrows off the ceiling, for sure
Just in from Downing Street:
Wee Eck has put up £95 million of Scottish pocket money to help pay for social housing build by Scottish Councils (aka Cooncil hooses, ye ken) this is clearly bad because it is meeting a real need and the SNP are doing it, so it is a waste of taxpayers’ money …….. so Broon is putting billions into private house builders hands to build houses in England, not social housing … just builder’s current estates and their profit and this is good!
Its not Tom Wise that needs putting in the dock its ‘Maggie Broon’ as he pishes even more English taxpayers’ money up against the wall. I can see his thinking; it worked for the banks and enabled us to nationalise them by the back door so why not the building sector……….
Come on Cameron – time for a vote of no-confidence is this bunch of weasels.
Interesting to see that when applying for BACP accreditation one must “Describe an experience or an activity which has contributed to your self awareness”.
Should Dolly need to re-apply, he could do no better than describe the latest events.
Mind you, it is hard to believe that Dolly has any self awareness at all or he would be sitting on the other side of the couch.
So that’s why they fcked the UK economy up because with a falling £ if you fiddle expenses in euros the more ££££££’s you get………..god these guys are economic guru’s. I salute you all you greedy twats.
It’s a pre-requisite to look after number one first. I’m sure they all pored over the rules to make sure they could do this before they even went to any meetings.
Isn’t it funny how the serving govt. MPs get off scott-free ?
Me thinks that they are worried that UKIP might do rather well in the EU elections in June.
WHY isnt the LIB-LAB-CON MEPS being charged ? Caroline Spelman and Peter Mandelson get promoted into new positons after their fiddles. Atleast UKIP kicks the crooks out ! Shouldnt the Conservatives be kicking Giles Chichester MEP out ? he stole £400,000 of tax payers money. The Torys must like crooks then ? !
It’s all about perception, and the public perceive them all to be crooks. I agree – they should all be kicked out. Mandleson, Spellman and any other politician who is found to have their hands in the till should be instantly fired and should never be allowed back into government in any form.
Jeffrey Archer still has his knighthood. He should have been made to give it back as soon as he went into prison.
These people are virtually untouchable – and being lawyers, they all know it!
Archer, the Kinnocks, Mandelson, etc. All have got away with “it”.
I am 100% against all corruption yet the timing of this action stinks to high heaven
OMG someone’s told Broon he should smile more! It’s completely bizarre! Make sure you’re not eating your lunch when you watch this:
http://www.politicshome.com/landing.aspx#7219
Ohhhh Yuk! I see what you mean.
Ah, it would seem it might have been a rush job because of this:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2009/apr/21/hazel-blears-security-blunder
Guess they can’t claim briefcases on expenses!
He just wants to flash his new teeth.
Horrible sight I know, but soon we might find that the taxpayer paid for them and perhaps Snottie McTwat feels we ought to be able to see what we’ve paid for.
Well, we pay for just about everything else that goes on in Westminster.
Not exactly value for money is it?
Why can i stilll not e-mail the tosser? I am so angry and want him to know it but 10 Downing Street is not taking e-mails. I am really starting to think that he is only told the good news and does not realise what a complete and utter wanker he is being made to look by his advisers. he comes across as a two-faced lying hypocrit with delusions of credibility. Those cleverer than me must produce another version of the Hitler video, only this time I imagine it will closely reflect what actually happens.
I know why he looks like gurning idiot. Out of shot, his bloated naked torso is sitting on Mandelson’s face.
lets hope Den Dover is next. He was sacked from the Tories last year for similar irregularities.
Democracy
Transparency
Accountability
Vote Libertas
Libertas is in favour of the EUSSR. haven’t you noticed ? They just want to change the wrapper. They will not get us out of the NuSoviet Republic.
Ah, but Gordon says it’s all changing from as early as next week.
Turn the piggy trough back to front and call it an alms box and they are all off the hook.
Treat us all like fucking idiots, don’t they?
Give up a second house allowance and get a daily allowance in return.
Who the fuck do they think they are kidding!
Slightly O/T but there is a perspicacious article by David Selbourne in The Speccy offering an analysis of how our ‘parliamentarians’ and parties esp Labour got themselves – and us – to this state:
“… More important, ‘rebranding’ sidelined many of Labour’s old beliefs in the virtues of community, the dignities of productive work and the ethics of public service. A seedy construct, Blairism nevertheless brought New Labour and its hangers-on office and personal benefit. But it left much of the public domain ransacked and inefficient.”
He concludes by citing the ‘Human Rights’ agenda as the main culprit, since it has encouraged a cult of self in place of the former emphasis on the public good; hence the addiction to feathering ones own nest, and feeling permitted – indeed entitled – to do so (no wonder the Wicked Witch has been among its main cheerleaders):

as a UKIP member tom wise deserves to be punished but its funny he was not charged in 2005 when this came to light over a crap 2nd hand peugeot.

I want to be an MP. I need the money
I am prepared to learn to parachute. I might even pay for a parachute if I can get it back on expenses once elected to a safe seat.
Don’t mind which party. Will follow all 3 line whips to the letter. Any takers?
When the majority of thieving MP’s have been prosecuted, the CPS
After the Commons and “Lords” have been thrown into jail for the misapropriation of “our” money the CPS might like to look at some of the rotten Boroughs, District & County Councils.
Oh yes, many authorities are beyond redemption and of course were the spawning grounds for the current inadequates who enjoy their temporary power over us.
Believe me, the future is worse. Take a look at the half wits governing us at local level. Unemployable by and large in the private sector. Morally corrupt, lazy, lying, pompous & wholly useless except when it comes to lining their own pockets. There are of course a few exceptions, but not many – some authorities are much worse than others.
Capital punishment is too generous to those caught red handed thieving and taking bribes.
Sharia Law anyone? Elements of it seem rather attractive of late.
Many people will have read with shock in national newspapers how Lindsay now finds her self embroiled in a very distasteful position. It beggar’s belief that Lindsay with a long and distinguished unblemished record of public service finds her career and character have been brought into question with what appears to be a case of her carrying out research for an MEP. She has written two books Disappearing Britain and the EU and the Death of Local Government. Compared to the person whom she carried out the research for she is a colossus. Just like Bernard Connolly, Paul Van Buitenen and Marta Andreason and latterly Damien Green she most probably realises that some Governments do not like people telling the truth and there may be repercussions. Remember Corpus Juris and the warnings from Torquil Dick-Erikson
When Russia & Uganda Believe They Are Freer Than Britain

It’s always instructive to contemplate how the rest of the world sees us. In an article headlined WHY DO THE BRITISH HATE US SO? Pravda has this to say…
Quite simply, as the UK sinks into the deepest reaches of an Orwellian Police State, where the government tracks every car on the autobahns, every phone call, all Internet usage and even has council members rummaging through people’s dust bins before the rubbish is picked up, and all the while their own industry is pushed off to third world nations and the British themselves are pushed off by a tsunami of third world immigrants bent on making the English like them not themselves like the English, the beleaguered and enslaved subjects of Her Majesty are looking for someone to strike out of sheer anger. Instead of looking inwardly and to God and solving the myriad of their own problems, they have instead chosen the easier route of striking at far off Russians. Of course it is the now long habit of taking the easier route that has brought the English to the point of possible extinction on the English Isles. A sorry state indeed.
Terrific news, but a bit of an Anti Climax. I would have bought the bar a round or two if it had been a prominent Labour troughmeister. There’s still hope though, and I can still dream that a few of them find their asses on trial for war crimes, or at the very least, crimes against their own people. In such a case I would buy the entire globe a few rounds of Mcewans Export.
Where are the Inland Revenue in all of this. If politicians are buying second homes at taxpayer expense, then selling them, are they pocketing the profits, do they pay capital gains, do they declare them as second homes, are they declaring the rented properties for tax purposes. What happens to all the televisions, washing machines etc. when they quit or lose their seats, do they keep them, do the Inland Revenue follow up. I know the IR are pretty quick to chase the public, is their a second rule for MPs. Finally, is there some way to tie expenses to attendance at Parliament. I suspect that the politicians are claiming expenses at their second jobs as well as parliament, double dipping, and for trips they dont take. If this is the case, they should be prosecuted. I am also predicting that when the expenses are released under the Freedom of Information Act, they will have been very sanitized, and they will be released en masse, making it impossible to relate them to specific MPs. A deliberate ploy to conceal the scale of theft.
