The Lobby’s Shameful Complicity in McPoison’s Reign of Terror
Guido’s eyes welled up when he read Alice Miles piece in The Times this morning. For five years this blog has squarely blamed Lobby journalists for failing the people. The Fourth Estate may not have a formal constitutional role, but the role is real.
Journalists are to there to “speak truth unto power”. Not trade favours for tittle tattle, not report spin as truth. From the start of this era of spin the Lobby pack have been willing accomplices. It is actually hard to name journalists who can hold their heads high. Peter Oborne – seen as an eccentric maverick, Martin Bright – hounded out of a job by Brown’s henchmen, Fraser Nelson – frozen out by Downing Street despite being Britain’s most widely read political columnist. Who else stood up to McPoison and revealed his text message terrorism?
Cowardice and cronyism runs right through the Lobby. Fearful of being taken off the teat of pre-packaged stories served to them. That is not journalism, that is copy-taking. The many stories filed this week which reveal just how horrible Brown’s cabal have been are of mere historical interest. They would have been brave if they had been written before McPoison was toppled. You all knew and said nothing. You knew and went along with it. Your revelatory articles are merely confessions of previous personal cowardice.
It is not as if it was a secret, as an outsider Guido went on Newsnight and laid out his manifesto, telling the Lobby to get some backbone and stand up to the spin machine. That j’accuse was met with a ferocious counter-attack from the doyen of the Lobby system, Sir Michael White, Nick Robinson cried foul, Paxman sneered. The issue was glossed over. The Lobby felt relief. The little boy who had pointed at the naked Lobby was rebuffed. Who has ended up looking the biggest fools? As you write your reviews of the years of terror and spin, do you not feel just the slightest tinge of guilt at your complicity? Guido, considered too far below the salt, remembered that speaking truth in a time of deceit was a revolutionary act, and the Lobby journalists now sleep safe in their beds tonight, because a rough blogger was prepared to do violence on Damian McBride.
You knew and did nothing, you failed your readers, you failed the truth. Hang your heads in shame.

Niall Paterson spinning for all he is worth on Sky News at present.
I commented exactly the same thing to a piece in this morning’s Telegraph.
Lobby journalists have been sucking on McBride’s tit for years.
I expect my comment was published because I ended it………… Thank God for Guido fawkes,
Guido is worth ten of those slimey f***kers.
But the interesting slant of all of this is that these mofos are now spinning to save their own bacon – just like their mentor McBride.
May the rise of the internet (and the downfall of printed media) show them to their true vocation – a fortnightly trip to the Dole Office.
When you think of the drivel that the likes of Robinson, Marr,White, Peston,McGuire etc have been peddling on behalf of this sleaze ridden administration for the past few years is it any wonder that the likes of Mcbride have never been outed before?
MSM Journalism stinks.
I am impressed by the professionalism , independence, drinking , feeding, legover (and legless) capabilities of the Honourable Lobby Members.
I am the leader of the gang ( I am).
This important massage has been split-personally approved by the Prime Mentalist.
That far left plonker Harman pride is back again at 422
“I suppose you’re all happy now? You’ve ruined the career of a family man and public servant (McBride), and are baying for the blood of another (Draper).”

I came across this whilst we were indisposed
Gordon’s deal with the Devil for our national soul
If only it was Our Humble Mr D. Kitchen that was the deal maker rather than ‘Damian’ McBride.
Typo – here it is

O/T
Something I just came across on Twitter and I am sure that the resourceful folk who frequent this hallowed blogs pages will be able to find more examples of the following than they could possible handle…..
‘The House of Commons Public Administration Select Committee (PASC) is currently exploring how government uses – and misuses – language and is calling for people to send in examples of the good, the bad and the ugly of official language.
* Public Administration Select Committee
How can I help?
Have you received a letter from government or seen an official leaflet that struck you as a really bad – or really good – example of official language? Perhaps the language used was confusing, riddled with jargon or simply meaningless gobbledegook. Or perhaps it got the message across clearly and effectively to the target audience.’

Populus poll on UNITE member views on Gordon vs Cameron.
Ugly reading for Labour’s biggest donor – and employer of one Charlie Whelan
I hope the Tories, Lib-Dems etc will a note of all the Laobur candidates who have been promoted and manipulated by Whelan into safe seats, come the General Election

What Democracy ?
Democracy, Democracy that enigmatic lie.
From the dictionary it ought to be deleted
Whilst democracy’s the slogan that politicians cry
The majority of us feel that we’ve been cheated
With political correctness forced upon us every day
Just in case the casual word may cause offence
If you have a strong opinion be careful what you say
Even though you may be talking perfect sense
When we joined the E.E.U. I’m sure we took the view
It would give a larger market for our trade
Yet now our mighty nation has a legal obligation
To abide by regulations Brussels made
The referendum was denied, the politicians lied
These decisions were decided by the few
It was no doubt understood, M.Ps thought it would be good
With a total disregarding of our view
MP’s pull out all the stops to try to fill our shops
With G.M foods that we don’t want to eat
Whilst cameras check our speed on roads where there’s no need
We’d be better off with coppers on the beat
If confronted by a crook and you land a good right hook
You may think that he deserved it, it’s his fault
When he is on probation you’ll be locked up down the station
To appear before a jury for assault
When travellers leave a mess, you’d be spot on if you guess
That authorities will turn an eye that’s blind
Yet drop a fag end in the street and before it hits your feet
You will get an instant ticket and be fined
If asylums what you seek and English you can’t speak
Benefits are paid for your welfare
But if your British and your old, your property is sold
To pay for any time you are in care
If you chastise your child, because he has run wild
That law will on your collar give a tug
For no matter what you say, do-gooders rule the day
Even though the child may grow into a thug
In the interest of fair play referendums are the way
The majority decide just where we go
We shouldn’t change our laws or take part in futile wars
To massage a political ego
When we are due a big election, parties vie for our affection

“The facts of the matter are straightforward: senior Downing Street Press Adviser and attack dog Damian McBride emails Labour spin doctor Derek “Dolly” Draper outlining a series of deeply damaging – and untrue – allegations about senior Tories.
Sadly for McBride, these emails fell into the hands of blogger and New Labour project nemesis Guido Fawkes. He published, and the rest – including Mr McBride’s career – is now history……”

Time for a new broom.

It’s just <some nulab twat> being <some nulab twat>
‘The right thing to do’ was always my favourite. You could bet on it being used in every interview with a NuLab politician. But imagine my joy when Alan Johnson described the recent Dolly/McBride fuck-up as ‘the wrong thing to do’. NuLab speak had evolved – which just went to show that Brown can’t control everything however much he may want to.
I’m not gay.
BTW, completely O/T but apparently Andy Burnham got heckled today when he mentioned The Fearless Leader at the Hillsborough Memorial Service today h/t Popularity on OH’s blog

The Trillion Dollar Man? (This was actually titled) Chancellor of the World.
Posting:
Nick there appears to be a problem with your ‘chancellor of the world blog’
‘Chancellor of the World’ Nick I really do hope this thread was meant as sarcasm. and or your just having a laugh getting our goats up, if not, then Nick you really are a sad little man.
The media inc BBC are absolutely complicit with this corrupt structure, nose in the trough self perceived elites, you are all eating off the same table, and obviously feel no threat to your gravy trains. why??
Nick where was your question that should have been. WHERE IS THIS MONEY COMING FROM AND WHERE EXACTLY IS IT MEANT TO BE GOING? WHO WILL BE DOING THE AUDITING/ACCOUNTING FOR THIS MONEY? what where how, what where how, I want this question asked time and time again.
Soon very soon, it will not just be the usual suspects hitting the streets. Please god.
and so help me if people sit back and take this crap, grrrr.
Do you realise, do you know, how quick a once prosperous nation can collapse, and become third world. How will you cope?
Remember the people in governments and their accomplices in the media that feed us lie after lie will be ok they will eat and sleep well, need evidence look around the world.
I wonder why this was rejected?
Ok so I did rant a bit, but it is how I felt , which ties in with this thread.
She complains about McPoison taking the money – all of these ‘journalists’ took money under false pretences!
Hoons all!!
Robinson, Toynbee et. al. are revolting examples of humanity. For 100k a year they happily let no. 10 put its hand up their arse, and regurgitate its propaganda. It scares me to think that the utter shit they produce in the name of “news” influences a not insignificant portion of the populace.
i couldn’t agree more – Hoons the lot of them
I could agree more and it started in America. (I can say that without fear of contraception.
The best thing which may come out of all this, is that journalists will be less partisan and less spoonfed in future. But I won’t hold my breath. The editors and the Board members of the various papers all sup from the same spoon – see the sections on press complicity on http://www.guardianlies.com – and it’s not long enough to keep the devil at bay
Just spotted Derek Draoers desk for sale on Ebay
Best description of pubcrawling form the Bunker yet
Love the comment that it’s been “totally and completely Stained” :D
Look, Mr. Fawkes. We’re very comfortable as we are. The real world is far too scary and complicated for us to get involved.
Yeah and I sometimes get to travel with the PM (so long as I say nice things about him).
Now back to you in the studio.
Thanks for the help with the brainwashing mate, but its unnecessary; I’m just going to fix the General Election (Glenrothes style).
Be much more aware about Glenrothes.
It stinks like last month’s kippers.
C’mere theres more

Paper register and vote papers lost, yes just lost!
Thanks, Faux Cul. Wasn’t aware.
“Improving access and participation in the democratic process by providing a choice of innovative, robust and reliable election solutions…..” What tosh. we need elections to be about integrity and fairness rather than ‘choice and innovation’.
Fife has previous on voting irregularities. At the time of the Scottish Parliament referendum, more votes were counted for the second question than there were voters.
http://www.alba.org.uk/referenda/devovote.html Bottom of the page. There’s a plausible(ish) explanation from the Scottish Office, but in light of what’s happened since, you have to wonder.
Best blog I’ve read in a very long time. Keep up the good work, Guido!
The odious Alistair Campbell started this particular ball rolling, and for NuLiebour it became habit-forming.
Fuckin’ A!
The Telegraph’s “lead story” today confirms that that once great newspaper is now a Downing Street War Room subsidiary office.
It’s a genuine pity.
Guido, thanks for this.
It’s an important part of the Manufacture of Consent.
never knew Harman was mentally ill……………………..!!
cheers Alice
Guido. Thanks for this.
Via Guido.
Let the print and broadcasting MSM burn for their complicity in the destruction of our society.
Labour could not have done it without their assistance.
Bring on the new.
Hear Hear!
Lobby Journalists have reacted to Bloggers in much the same way as I imagine T-Rex did when he caught sight of the first Mammals.
Bloggers are here to stay
Dinosaurs such as Sir Michael have clear choice…..Evolve or Face Extinction.
The White Queen is a dinosaur – it cannot evolve.
Thank God!
White has been sniffing Browns turds for so many years he’s addicted to it.
First Banksters, now Lobby Journalists – suddenly its one struggle
You’re right.
Newspapers have lost the power of spin for this Labour shower. No wonder their circulation is falling off a cliff. Advertisers deserting them in droves.
I agree about Frazer Nelson though. He’s a great guy. The best the rest can do is go for Brown before he goes for them.
You needed to nominate yourself – if you aren’t in you can’t win.
Indeed. Why didn’t you? I assumed it was a positive choice not to on your part.
Right on the money Guido, but in quite a different way to most of our journalists and politicians. In politics there are but two people whom I have long viewed with respect – your good self and Peter Oborne. I thank you both for your courage, principles and intellect.
Hear hear – particularly to PO, great books. Have finished The Rise of Political Lying and now on The Triumph of the Political Class. Depressingly revealing, both highly recommended.
Couldn’t agree more with p o v and Hugh. I have been reading Peter Oborne and Guido for a couple of years and I salute them both.
Quite agree – half way thru’ The Rise of Political Lying – brilliant.
Only thing I don’t understand (and I admire and enjoy P.O.s articles) is his apparent admiration in the Daily Mail, for Gordon Brown. I do not doubt P.O.s sincerity – I just don’t understand this blind spot.
There is a reason why white rhymes with shite
I notice the Gov the media generally and the Labour mouth organ, the BBC, is trying to besmirch Guido/Mr Staines/and “right wing” blogs. They have and are failing to understand that for once the people of this island are free to make their views heard, and to listen to other citizens who also have a view, and not be controlled by Gov et al. The media, esp the BBC and sad arse lickers like Mike White, have swallowed the Labour party line because this is where they obtain their stories, the worst offender is the fag end Robert Peston, and man without an original idea, spoon fed by the Gov, and has the cheek to ask to be taken seriously. The media have let us all down by being weak, frightened and complicent in 12 years of spin and lies. They should be ashamed, but are so arrogant and righteous that they aren’t. Newspapers are on the way out, the BBC is in the last chance saloon – please someone start a proper campaign of mass with holding of the TV tax, all to stop their direct debits on a certain day. The blog is here, we have been liberated, we no longer need to listen to the utter bollocks sprouted by Mike White and the BBC. Read blogs, buy Private Eye and The Spectator, and vote this bunch of scum out at the next election. Thankyou for listening.
Guido
I’d forgotten this piece. Thanks for putting it up.
Methinks Paxman protesteth too much… you clearly hit a nerve.
Looking forward to Nick Robinson’s first blog on his return….
Why? Robinsons blog will be some inane drivel about how hard done by our idiot PM is. How could he know what bad eggs he’d hired or some such nonsense. No point reading his crap. You’re just wasting life you can’t get back.
Why? Are you really expecting something different? Show a dog a toilet and it will still shit in the garden.
Newsnight should take the ‘Have I got News For You’ approach to the ‘empty chair’, substitute the cowardly politician with a tub of lard or another inately amusing inanimate object.
Maybe what they should do is tell them to f.o. next time they want to come on and trumpet some new initiative. One they got the idea that if they were too fussy they would miss out minds would be concentrated. Yes, I know, it will never happen.
‘Is there a dark side to this man’ asked Gavin Esler about Brown last night. He didn’t get a reply. Should we tell him?
It’s not always true either!
A well know author and historian standing at the last election for UKIP was frequently put up by them to the BBC when asked for a spokesperson on eg EU matters. He was too intelligent, well travelled and articulate for the Beeb, who always tried to get another spokes-person (someone they could easily manipulate into appearing a nutter, no doubt) and then would suddenly say they could no longer find room for a UKIP spokesman, when told it was him or nothing. Then they would say “No UKIP spokesman was available”!
Err, why? Exactly? Seems rather pointless to me.
Anger, that’s what we want. Keep on the boil Guido.
Anger and contempt for the motherfucking shills who lie to us and lie to us and get fat in the process. Government is the enemy, but the media are their shield. Until the media are torn down – specifically the foul BBC – this country doesn’t stand a fucking chance of scraping some liberty back.
BTW, I’d add Matthew Parris as one of the good guys. And he can write.
Seconded
Matthew and Jeff Randal
Yep Jeff Randall gets my vote. And Trevor Kavanagh when he chooses to.
Aye to Matt P. One of the few to stand up and tell Campbell to fuck off when the alcoholic, manic depressive retired pornographer was in his pomp arranging the Iraq war and destroying Dr Kelly.
Littlejohn?
RL is all talk and no guido.
His book ‘Littlejohns Britain’ from a couple of years back, was an excellent expose of some of the insane policies espoused by Zanu. I loved the stuff about the Blairs, and especially when he ripped into that buffoon Prezza. But special praise for highlighting the way McMental has hooned over the English.
It appears a few, and only a few, savvy commentators could see what an utter shambles had managed to get itself elected, and what would be happening to the UK about now.
There are dark forces out there, and at the moment they have the controls.
Can we add Brillo to that list and Andrew Pierce too
Not sure about Pierce -I think he sometimes has a tendency to wait and see which way the wind blows before he jumps. I heard him on the radio last Sunday and he was pretty dismissive of ‘Smeargate’.
Andrew Pierce seemed to be suggesting in yesterday’s Telegraph that they actually broke the story.
Absolutely. I agree.
And the MSM has looked at the Lobby;
and has looked at the World of the Future;
and they’ve gone back to where it’s nice and warm, with the promise of predigested pap.
PS Did anyone hear Ed Balls on Today this morning?
This man is one of Brown’s nastier acolytes and one of McBride’s chief cheerleaders.
The barefaced hypocrisy of the man had to be heard to be believed.
Thoroughly Nauseating.
When it comes to slimy, gut-wrenching hypocrisy The Testicular One is in a league of his own. Utterly odious.
He’s the Martin Bormann of the Labour Party.
The Testicular One is very mumps(y)
He is indeed the Martin Bormann of the Labour Party.
That’s why he will disappear in the last few hours before the shattering Labour election defeat.
One minute he’ll be on BBC Election Special saying ‘we have done pretty well for a three term party, and we will be back next time’
Then, he completely disappears for about 20 years before turning up as a hospital porter at a clinic in Venezuela.
#309 … fucking hope so Bill; seeing Ballsbag on screen first thing in the morning made me want to throw the tv straight out the window
Yes, I did. Agree with your assessment of him 100%, but I also liked his quote earlier in the interview when they were talking about schools that “satisfactory is not good enough”. So not only is he a barefaced hypocrite, he also clearly has trouble grasping the meaning of commonly used words.
I think their notion of ’satisfactory’ is somewhat at variance with the electorate’s as well as the dictionary definition. Allowing 30% or so of kids to leave school functionally illerate is ’satisfacotry’ to these hoons – and it means they can’t read blogs, or even the Sun
Ooops – illiterate!
I didnt hear his interview but how many times did he say ‘its the right thing to do’ in it?
Definately shake hands with that slimey Hoon and walk away counting your fingers!!!!!!!!!
….and remember to wash any you have left VERY carefully
Sock the cnut on the chin, I wouldn’t shake hands with any of the hoons
It’s Mrs Bollocks I feel sorry for. Then again maybe not. She’s just another one of those hoons that Noty and Gord thought were glamerous that look like and sound like the backside of a camel farting.
I’m Brian, and so’s my wife!
It takes just one good man to stand up to totalitarianism and defeat it. Totalitarianism can only succeed if good men keep silent.
They are silent no longer
Guido might be yelling but the media are just squeaking. They’ll hide back in their burrows in a few days.
Forgive my forthrightness in this august blog, as a newbie in deeply experienced company I feel relatively ill equipped to comment but it is OUR job (as in everyone who understands how this stands) to ensure that they remain (or become) vocal and HONEST. Guido has done an amazing and exemplary job, one at which I had given up in despair (as a humble citizen and businessman). I do know one thing well though, Lola speaks the truth – and the more that speak it and speak it loudly the less chance of repetition after these odious collective of (ah yes) hoons is brought down.
Hence why many newspapers and TV programmes have been either unwatchable or unreadable for several years.
They constantly complain about falling figures but more and more people are sick of unbalanced views and even propaganda.
The battle of the bloggers will get stronger and stronger.
All of this is going to improve my choleric temper if I don’t have to screech at the telly anymore.
Here’s hoping!
The Thick of It references are coming thick and fast now – remember the episode where the young journalist threatens to write a piece on the “Day of Spin”, only to be threatened by the Malcolm Tucker that she’d never be spoon-fed another story again and her career would be over? There’s an interview with Amando Iannucci in the Guardian. I’m especially fond of this part
“All I know is that the number of politicians who have said to me there are good people trying to do a good job, and there’s another side to it, and you do them a disservice – the number of politicians who’ve said that have been outweighed by the number of politicians who’ve quietly said, ‘Do you know it’s a lot worse, it’s a lot worse than this.’”
http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2009/apr/13/armando-iannucci-interview-decca-aitkenhead
I recollect right at the start of the NuLab years, Iannucci giving up his spoof BLiar column in the – then – Torygraph, on the grounds that the Govt were beyond parody, and always coming up with things far more outrageous than he could have thought up. He was right on their case, form the very start.
And btw, tho most of my friends did vote for the hoons, once at least, I never did. Mandelson, Gould, Campbell and Prescott were enough for anyone over the age of 40 to see which way the farts were blowing I forgive the young and hope they are no longer foolish
A seminal moment. I read Alice Miles article, very good and contrite. The MSM have contributed to the mess this country is in because they failed to hold NuLabour to account and indeed pedaled their lies. They also put their own politics before the truth and before the responsibilities of their profession. Toynbee and Daley in particular just trotted out the propaganda of their own politics, no journalism involved, for vast amounts of money and membership of the ruling elite.
This is a campaign victory, not a battle or skirmish victory and will have far reaching consequences. Guido and the Co-conspirators are an important political force which has breached into the Westminster village. MSM journos need to take a long hard look at themselves and perhaps some will have the decency to return to proper journalism, ask the questions that need to be asked – in short, do their jobs. The alternative is disbelief, then ridicule, then unemployment.
As you say, it was an excellent article…but will they change?
Somehow I doubt it.
I will believe thay have changed at one point and one point only. That is when they in telivised interviews actually ask the obvious question that I (and I am sure millions of others) am shouting at the TV for them to ask.
When they do that, then and only then, will I believe they have changed.
Incidentally, has anyone else noticed that Toynbee (and Rawnsley) chose a good time to take a few days off?
And Toenails Robinson.
They’ve all headed for the hills.
I totally agree – The Mcbride/Draper affair has seen a new force enter the media with a vengeance.
Provided Guido can retain and develop his sources it would appear to sound the death knell of the privileged hacks disseminating sanitised, on message, official drivel masquerading as fact.
I wonder if any of them can sleep at night knowing the utter garbage they are producing which is laughlingly described as journalism?
Stick with it Guido .. however hard they try to destroy you, however much they try to revile you (and they will, there’s nothing surer) ..
You’ve told it like it is .. and the truth always hurts Liars & Cheats …
We, who have the gumption to differentiate know just who is & who isn’t telling the truth ..
Guido – You have changed the world. For the better.
He has. He has.
Bang on Guido. I don’t read the main newspapers for politics these days, I know full well that the likes of Campbell, McBride, Whelan and others have been rigging the coverage for years. Some papers are worse than others, The Times being the most obvious example.
Keep sticking it to ‘em.
You obviously don’t live in Jockland and read the Scotsman (hootsman).
Or the Herald.
Bloggers were castigated as Internet vermin by its political editor and the site is now closed.
The pro Labour bias is unbelievable.
Ah but the Hootsmon doesn’t even pretend to have journalists. Its press release to front page in one easy e-mail
Spot on – they use PA as their content fodder – completely random stories about nothing to do with Scotland and oodles of diary type rubbish.
Next time you are on Google News – check out how many completely random articles are named checked by them.
People think we have a diverse press – we don’t. See:
http://www.guardianlies.com/Section%204/index.html
Read in particular the section on the Press Association, and that on local newspapers. But it’s all worth reading
Well done again Guido. And thanks. We owe you much!
They should indeed hang their heads in shame!
Or just hang.
Balls talking balls
They’re terrified of this. You’re leading a vast army, Guido. March on, citoyen.
Kudos for that piece Prodicus. We always knew balls and Cooper were incompetents as well as bloody (legal!) thieves -and total phonies with their put on estuary accents. Wankers the pair of them.
“McBRIDE WAS PLANNING ANONYMOUS PUBLICATION OF THE SUBSTANCE OF THE LIBELS which he had dreamt up in his sordid, unprincipled mind to help Gordon Brown – your Master, Balls, you vermin – cling to power. Brown’s chief fixer over a decade was prepared anonymously to destroy anyone who stood in Brown’s way. He was planning to disable them politically by wounding their families personally with vicious anonymous lies.
These are the methods of Beria, of the Gestapo. Moral equivalence with Guido Fawkes and Andy Coulson? How dare you!”
Not sure if I’m linking this right, but BRAVO’s comment deserves support. Hit the nail on the head.
I too want to thank Guido for a fabulous job well executed. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching Labour taken apart and McCavity the Coward hiding from view like the rat he is (or was that him seen scuttling around Downing Street yesterday?)
This was the week when the Dead Tree Press saw their future. We’re not listening to their sycophantic peddling of Labour lies any more.
Excellent writing. Well said.
seconded!
Have linked to your excellent post.
Well done; I listened to the interview and was irritated end to end but could not put my finger on every reason why. Nice unpicking of the underlying digs.
SLEAZE IS A TWO WAY STREET.
It sure is. In one direction it leads to Westminster, in the other it leads to Fife.
But don’t you feel slightly sorry for Nick Robinson ? When the dust had settled on the G20 nonsense, he announced that he needed a lie-down and was off on his hols – thus completely missing the political earthquake which changed the system for good.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer chap.
Perhaps he’s played a blinder. Had Nick Bobinson been on duty over the Easter weekend he have had to make a difficult decision – report the news or report the “news”.
Prick Robinson does whatever the SMS messages from a battered Nokia phone in central London tell him.
…Prick Robinson does whatever the SMS messages from a battered Nokia phone in central London tell him…
He has it on vibrate as Gordon stuffed the phone up his arse.
McPoison told him what to Blog.
No McPoison = no Toenails
What’s the bet he’ll just come back in and shills his Radio 4 Prime Minister’s Program and shuts the fuck up until the bunker figures out what to do.
Well done Guido. The voice of sanity – and one that speaks out for the rest of us, an otherwise silent majority. You have expressed the deep anger felt by every decent person in this country who has to work hard to make a living and has been robbed, cheated and lied to by Gordon Brown and New Labour. Would that we could roll the clock back to 1997: who were the gullible idiots that voted for New Labour?
I did, to my lasting shame. I was a fool, and know better now.
There are probably many like me who educated ourselves, or had education thrust upon us, as to the nature of the Beast.
‘The secret of happiness is freedom; the secret of freedom is courage’.
I get out of this blog what I cannot find from newspapers or TV.
Good investigative reporting and no dumbing down.
I voted ZaNuLabour in the last election, but in all fairness I had just turned 18 and had no fucking clue about politics. To be honest I only knew what Aljabeeba told me, what a stupid kid…
Their articles show that they have the same disease as New Labour.
They write as though they were players in another game.
Labour insist that the problems which still exist after 12 years of their attempt at governance are all the fault of Margaret Thatcher.
The lobby journalists write as though they have recently arrived on the scene and are surveying the wreckage of the past in a disinterested, objective fashion.
The epilogue being written by the lobby seems to infer that McPoison committed political suicide. The part played by Guido is being incrementaly erased each time the story is told.
Exactly. Guido is being mentioned less and less as the story moves on, but he started it.
But screw ‘em! In 10 years or so, the internet will be unbelievably powerful, and the MSM guys will be nowhere.
It won’t take ten years. It’s happening now.
That lot in Downing Street and those journalists don’t know how to cope with it.
They should know if you can’t beat them join them.
That would really be interesting. A real battle of words. No holds barred. And no moderators.
Amen to that. Guido has done us all a great service.
What concerns me now is the clear determination on the part of the Government (a very broad term) to ‘regulate’ the Internet. Each and every Labour spokesman and politician has made that part of their response to the awkward questions of the past few months. It’s the execution of the messenger which is their preoccupation.
Make no mistake, if these elected representatives manage to close down free speech that will be the end of any form of democracy. And, make no mistake, that is precisely what this Government intends to do, aided and abetted by the vested interests of the mainstream media. We can certainly expect to see much more Government-generated and totally artificial outrage at the content of blogs.
The position adopted by these monsters is transparent. They are not prepared to use exisisting legislation (of which there is plenty) to ‘defend’ themselves. They wish to have absolute control over what is said and written by ordinary members of the public.
The war on free speech is already under way. We are at the edge of the totalitarian precipice.
They can try to shut us up, but they will just make things worse for themselves.
I absolutely agree – and I’ve been warning of this for a decade. You dont’ need to be a lefty to agree with Chomsky that governments that do not physically control their people must instead govern by consent, and that today, consent is manufactured. They have successfully manufactured this consent – the elites in all developed nations have, this past century, devoted a huge proportion of their efforts to media control. Forget the guys in funny hats, it is the media that polices us.
Now the media is not the only way of getting the message out. Now the media cannot control the story. This is what frightens them – not the *story*, but that they cannot *control* the story. If government cannot control the story, then they cannot govern, they cannot remain in power – and that applies to all of them.
Across the world governments are drawing the lesson that a free and liberal internet directly threatens their existence – a free and unregulated internet will become Enemy #1, everywhere.
So expect scares, paedo hysteria, terrorism hysteria, expect large and small changes, expect stories of identity theft, libel, wars and rumours of wars, expect an onslaught of reasons why you lot should consent to the incremental removal of liberty online – we have had plenty, expect more. And as you see these stories, realise why it is happening: it is because the people governing us are the worst people in the world. Fascism never went away.
And then you decide what you will do, and how hard you will fight. You decide. No one will do it for you.
FF – excellent analysis.
When are you going to revive your blog Frank? I keep dropping by but you haven’t touched it since Jan
well, I keep throwing articles at CiF and they keep knocking them back… I should write for my own site, but if I do that, no fucker will pay me….
FF, I read CiF with a morbid fascination but never contribute – I have my health to think of. Your comments are great – a light in darkness – though often deleted by the ‘comment is free’ asshole moderators. Please keep at it, and with writing more generally.
And you are right: the internet allows free exchange of ideas and information, and that is the greatest threat to the vile scum who see their right to govern us so corruptly as inviolable: they must destroy this at any cost, or perish. There will be trouble.
As for me, I will fight, and hope not to be found wanting.
FF – you could always write for your blog and submit to CiF….?
If you can get enough traction without them then surely it will strengthen your hand?
There will come a time, not so far ahead at this rate, when ‘they’ will try to shut down the servers. Probably on the the pretext of ‘national security’ or some other such nonsense.
I used to think conspiracy theorists were nutters, not anymore.
I agree!
But it is the blogasphere that iwill keep the people from taking to the streets.
Take away our opportunity to vent our frustration out via the blog and they would face the worst civil unrest yet seen.
Okay GoodnightVienna, just for you
http://www.frankfisher.org/?p=17
The blog is back in business
Nick Robinson is a Downing Street tool, wait sorry i meant to say Nick Robinson is a tool. Hopefully the next government will clip the wings of the BBC and get rid of useless hacks like him.
Whys isn’t Dorries going after McFried and Dripper, another has read the email so that must be libel surely?
Because she is in bed with me!
Something else that struck me when mulling over all this is the descrption of the emails by the apparatchiks as ‘juvenile’. They are right about juvenile, but wrong to limit that desription to just the emails. This whole government is juvenile. That’s one of its key problems. They have all been/are behaving like a bunch of juvenile undergraduates engaged in a series of silly arguments about inconsequentials. Draper even looks the part. Brown just sits there like one of those silly lecturers who loves to have it over their students by demonstrating the superiority of their ability to argue and then go off and spend their time in the common room scheming and plotting against their colleagues.
They are just so pathetically childish.
You make a good point Lola. We seem to have a generation of Politicians and Journalists, that were indoctrinated by our Marxist infiltrated universities back from the 60s-70s. As an academic (I am at Harvard) I meet many British Academics during the course of conferences and the like. It never fails to amaze me just how left wing they are, tribal loyalists for Labour and unnervingly vicious about anyone who fails to agree with them. I have seen cabals of British Academics scheming and plotting to discredit or to oust people from Chairs and steering groups, simply because they aren’t hard left enough or they suspect ‘might’ be sympathetic to a right wing viewpoint/. I have seen this nastiness virtually kill any form of objective debate and discussion – and this seriously impacts on research, believe me.
Honestly, I actually heard some British academics at at conference last year toasting the imminent demise of Margaret Thatcher (or just ‘Thatcher’ as they called her). This is real hate stuff and these sort of people are educating our next generation of leaders, they have already created a hate – filled and vicious generation of politicians.
To fix the UK – and British politics, a good start would be the universities, never mind the BBC. It hires what it gets.
Yes, Minekiller, as an British ex-academic I can back everything you say. Certainly the British Political Science profession is almost completely left-wing dominated, as are the other social sciences, outside economics. Being leftist and PC also has become more-and-more rewarding in securing funding in NuLabour land.
Excellent post. But the “scheming and plotting” is not limited to academia. It is everywhere a feature of British society. The Left are simply incapable of proper political debate – witness the dire postings of the lefty trolls who come here. Their stock in trade is dogma and if it is opposed then the end (stifling the opposing viewpoint) justifies any means. The very essence of Political Correctness, invented by the Left, imposed by the Left and policed by the Left, is to stifle debate and dissent. In the last 12 years it has moved from peer pressure to actual, criminalising legislation – the policing of thought and speech by the authorities.
One of the most obvious admissions to this aspect of the nasty Left is the way Gordon Brown picked up and used the “Do nothing” cudgel to attack the Tories. It is a political strategy. Create a pejorative soundbite which demonises opponents so that their viewpoint is undermined before it is even heard. The accusation itself is invalid because as an opposition party the Tories are not in any position to do anything much, except hold the government to account, which is their duty. But by using it New Labour attempt to silence even that democratically required criticism, rather than answering to it. Those who excuse Brown from this fail to appreciate his behaviour during Prime Minister’s Questions, which he uses as a vehicle to attack the opposition rather than defend the government’s policies, resorting to passive-aggression, pointing his finger and instead of answering the questions asking his own.
Lefties have been about this since the 1960’s, screaming down and villifying their opponents. The emails are just a modern manifestation of the same tendencies.
Many on the brainwashed Left do not even attempt to understand Tory policies or thinking. They rely instead on a mythology created by past generations of Leftists to characterise the Tories and their visceral hatred is built on pejorative soundbites and dogmatic interpretation of the historical record. It is often said with more than a grain of truth that some of these people, not political activists themselves, would vote for a stuffed toy if it was wearing a red rosette.
They are tribal beyond belief. Whilst they spout endlessly about equality and fairness, they are invariably the most bigoted, prejudiced and partisan of people. The equality and fairness only applies to those groups they consider to be “victims”, whilst those considered to be oppressors (even in a purely historical context) or outside the circle of privilege (Daily Mail readers, Little Englanders) receive no consideration whatsoever and are fair game for their viciousness. Their posture is heavy with hypocrisy.
Much of the social engineering legislation they have introduced has increased rather than reduced ethnic and racial tension. Devolution, the brainchild of New Labour, threatens the break-up of the United Kingdom and has resulted in the inequality and unfairness of different rules for the Scots and Welsh, increasing resentment in an England where people perceive a parliament dominated by leftist Scots politicians. This is no good for mutual goodwill and trust. The New Labour regime thrives on dividing and conquering, fostering hatred that never existed and setting up demons to allow them to manipulate and control the people with fear.
If I look back I have never known a time where Britain is so rooted in fear, paranoia, hatred and resentment as now. Where old fashioned values of tolerance and fair-play have been consigned to oblivion and replaced with an atmosphere of oppression by a government whose ideology and demands loom too large in all our lives.
MK – there are more libertarian minded academics than you might realise – myself included. However, there is a stranglehold as you imply – particularly in the politics and philosophy departments – that ensures most of us are seen as various kinds of maverick.
We’re fighting our own bunker war over here. Perhaps its time to set up a Libertarian academic network and enable all of us to meet and work together – and start pushing the statist tossers back….?
MK says fix; I say shrink. The market is flooded with degrees in glorified tittle tattle and pool hall management while science faculties are closed as a prophylactic against lawsuits for nervous shock brought by kids whose education promptly expires after being able to identify Mary Seacole in a line-up of the Liverpool football team and baking a scone.
This country does not have a coherent energy policy and does not even control the means of its own power generation. When the lights go off, university arts faculties will be revealed as unaffordable fripperies and the mandarin class will be driven into the rice fields to retrain as horny handed sons of toil. Arbeit macht frei, you effete corps of impudent snobs!
So please name and shame. Those of us outside academia cannot help unless we know where to look.
A frightening example is the dangerous global warming scare whereby academia has totally accepted the truth of a hypothesis that, despite the expenditure of massive funding, has not been validated by empirical evidence – the essential requirement of the scientific method. Anyone daring to query the “consensus” is a “denier”, today’s equivalent of a heretic. As a result, we are being forced – by all politicians, abetted by an unquestioning MSM – to accept a ruinously costly programme of central control.
Another academic here. Gramsci’s long march through the institutions has, apparently, been wonderfully successful. As a lapsed leftist I am familiar with these patterns of thought – on one hand, there is the self-loathing and self-congratulatory moral grandstanding, in the other a stick with which to beat opponents. Without indulging in too much amateur psychologising (where is DD when you need him), I suspect the latter is the truer, darker motive. This attitude is rife in academia in my experience (uk) even in science, which has come increasingly under attack with ideas from the totalitarian left via the exponential growth in politicised career administrators and quangocrats.
Really superb stuff, this. Congrats to all who have contributed to this thread. Everything that is loathsome, intolerant and hypocritical about the Left’s political philosophy is neatly summed in about 1300 words.
One of the best threads I’ve read at Mr Fawkes’s place, (and many thanks GF for undamming Britain’s Watergate).
One of the problems must surely lie with NUT (blessed acronym indeed) and its members’ stranglehold on so many schoolchildren.
NUT’s PC-driven crusade to dismantle hierarchy, headmaster, the cane, and school discipline, and replace it with pupil and parent power, seems to me, a criminal and deliberate wrecking of society.
The Internet is indeed a positive threat to governments everywhere and will be attacked with increasing venom and vigour.
It is up to those who refuse to be CCTVd every waking and non-waking minute, to be vigilant.
Mr Fawkes – long may he live – is one of those waving an intense beam as cockroaches scuttle.
Great thread many thanks to GF for undamming Britain’s Watergate.

something wrong with your modding algo thats for sure. give up moi
EnglishLiberation – you make many important points very well. I hope you Blog elsewhere. NuLabour actually seem to hate those who work and save and those who thought Britain had far too much state control even in 1997. I agree with you on the social engineering rubbish. Britain had plenty faults in 1997, but Labour is leaving Britain a broken/fractured country …. with far too many within its borders who either shouldn’t be here, contribute nothing, or are planning to steal from or bomb the inhabitants …. and far too many people who make the streets dangerous. I get depressed thinking about it. One thing I’d like to change is to limit the BBC to 100 calls for more government or more government expenditure every day (as opposed to the present 500 or so) … or make sure they balance it with an equal number of calls for reductions in taxes.
Extraordinary set of responses and expositions here, very illuminating.
Indeed its one of the best threads I’ve read at Mr Fawkes’s place, (and huge thanks GF for undamming Britain’s Watergate).

1984 maybe a cliche and long gone on the calendar, but my God its message is ever more aposite.
Mr Fawkes – long may he live – is one of those waving an intense beam as cockroaches scuttle.
Wait till you see and encounter the next bunch of tossers coming up through the system currently, I had to endure two years at uni with some of them before i jacked it in and rejoined the real world again. To say people of the left leaning are inadequate in many skills and useless in general would be an understatement. I had chinese student friends who you would of thought from their background would of got along fine with the lefties even disgusted.
As one of my chinese friends once said to me; how can anyone take the rantings of a spotty youngster who has posters and idols chairman mao and stalin, seriously?.
And again he once said that these people claim to fight for freedom from opression when really they fight for the freedom to opress.
Those wise china men eh!!
I particularly like the Che teeshirted loons – usually ask them if the himmler teeshirt is in the wash.
Exactly.
Old Ma Dale skewered Steve Richards on Simo Mayo y’day. Richards related the story of McBride briefing a BBC interviewer prior to his radio interview of a Minister: ‘Ask him if he has a drinking problem’
Dale asked him why relates this story three years later. Richards did a Pickles.
Lobby system sewerage park inhabited by MSM and Govt spin doctors. They call it news.
Hear hear Guido.
Too many people in this world are too feeble to stand up to bullies and too lazy to do the right thing.
The real story lies with who registered and paid for the domain name http://www.theredrag.co.uk
Any webby types out there tried to hack into the Red Rags site’s administration area – WordPress is notoriously easy to hack into
Im sure there may be some interesting emails, and unpublished pages in there
“… It took five minutes to grab the name. It was a good name, but almost all my energy was devoted to making LabourList work.”

Pity he failed so badly (with LabourLost) then.
If the next government have the balls to dismantle the entire BBC, strip the remains of it’s licence fee, let it survive or not as a purely commercial enterprise, and stop subsidising the rest of the media with their bloated self polishing advertising money – then see what happens to the “traditional media” and it’s over-paid self-important hangers-on like Polly Twaddle and Sir Kneepads.
Comrades.
We are at a very difficult time of national crisis. We continue to Broadcast all we are fed. Independent thinkers at AlJaBeeba were long ago dispensed with. Anyone capable of clear thinking and analysis has been re-educated or denigrated.
Casting about for words of comfort to bring to the Sheeple, we will again show them the story of Mr NoDrama’s dog.
However, we look to Herr Comrade ChairPerson McStalinBrownStainovich and His Five Year Plans and Progress to carry us, – His loyal sheeple, – forward to the Glorious Uplands of Socialist progress and utopianism.
And again, in desperation, we turn our eyes upwards and look for inspiration as we, the sheeple, search for His rocketing satellite in space as a symbol of our new prosperity and to show we are not a destitute or broken-down economy, soon to ask the IMF for a hand-out.
And we want the licence fee tax increased too.
Old-Noo (neé Noo-Old) BoringLiars – TAXING YOU WITLESS ‘n WASTING YOUR MONEY on something pointless NEAR YOU – or circling overhead!
more eastenders please
Leave me out of this.
you forgot the martial music at the end
I’d add Andrew Gilligan to the very short list too.
And I’d help you.
and nick cohen
Yes quite right but where is he now?
Seems to have been effectively silenced.
dont forget Sophie Raworth
What a girl and an interview technique when she stood in for Wingnut
Scathing , brilliant stuff !
Just remember though we love you Guido! ;)
Guido,
Rot in corporate or political culture starts at the top. Lobby system new or especially different since GB took over. What is different is the people, not the system. More specifically the head man who sets the tone.
Everyone likes a pithy aphorism – so here is my attempt at one.
If you dont clean your kitchen, you cant blame the flies for spreading disease.
This is all about the absolute obsession of socialists for control. Orwell saw this and hated it with prescience. The sickening sychophancy of the tame lobbyists and their Murdoch masters is just vomit inducement of the highest order. As for the little foot soldiers, just wave a nipple in their direction and they latch on with the fervour of a starving baby. Especially if their job depends on it.
Nice, but wouln’t “cockroaches” be better?
I’ve lost count of how many BBC stories are straight out of the Government press release book.
Remember the shambles of Mark Easton spouting the Governments crime statistics as FACTS and telling us (and the Tories) that we’re idiots for thinking crime is going up?
Er… only to find the following day that the fat one eyed Nokia phone throwing tartan skirt wearing felt pen writing moron had used figures that were unreliable AND had been told so. So the BBC were made to look an utter bunch of twats again.
Did it stop Easton spouting Nu liebour shite as fact? Nope! Then we have Prick Robinson doing the same. Then Prick Robinson decided to ignore Mandelson’s stop on a rich Russians yacht whilst slaughtering Osborne
I guess when you have your nose up Brown’s arse you can’t hear what he’s saying.
Go get the bastards Guido.
I saw this on the BBC site and noticed the careful wording avoids the issue of who knew about misogynistically named Red Rag site and carefully sticks to the e mails alone to avoid answering the key questions.
“In his reply, Sir Gus said Mr McBride was “no longer employed as a special adviser” and “has not received severance pay”.
He said Mr Watson had “made his own position clear” and the prime minister had made clear “that he has been assured that no minister or political adviser other than Damian McBride had any knowledge of, or involvement in, the e-mails”.
Note it says ‘no minister’ which deftly excludes the prime minister. Might one imply from this wording that he knew? Also, seems pretty clear that others knew about the plans but didn’t read the actual e mail. And it doesn’t actually say MacBride has been removed from the civil service either, just from that one role. Any clarification on this latter point?
Yes, the BBC reports thus (but weakly): A Serious Breach on the “Sir Gus” responses to Maude’s letter (as highlighted via GF yesterday: Red Rag).
Not front page online and coverage is not detailed; for example: “He (Maude) also asked about the terms of departure of Mr McBride and whether the e-mails were part of a “broader pattern of activity by other special advisers”. In his reply, Sir Gus said Mr McBride was “no longer employed as a special adviser” and “has not received severance pay”.
No word as to whether still a Civil Servant and or still in Downing Street, severance pay would not be an issue anyway in a straight resignation case, and nothing re the contentious issue of pension (again not relevant if not actually retired). The “broader pattern” question? er, nothing here.
Further: “He (Sir Gus) said Mr Watson had “made his own position clear” and the prime minister had made clear “that he has been assured that no minister or political adviser other than Damian McBride had any knowledge of, or involvement in, the e-mails”.
No knowledge or involvement? Maybe a bit of wriggle room if eg copied into emails but “did not receive/read them” but maybe something that will come back and bite bums. Fingers crossed.
In any event surely Sir Gusset, as Head of the Civil Service knew all aalong that the SPADs were breaching the Code. Guido shouted it long and loud enough. So Sir Gusset, tell me this….Where were you when McBride amd Watson were venting poison over the last 5 years.
‘no word as to whether still a civil servant…’
Hit the nail on the head. Paul Gray ‘resigned’ over the lost data from HM-arsey. He ‘resigned’ from his position as Chairman, not the civil service. He had three months to go until he retired, spent it on garden leave, got paid, got his full pension.
‘Resignation’ does not mean what it says on the tin when you reach that level of the civil service ordained for those special people incapable of doing a proper job.
Guido, mind if we say that McBride has been well and truly ‘Stained’?
Or perhaps you’d prefer ‘Fawked’?
The bastard will never be cleansed of the fawking staines :)
The expressed “You been Fawked” must enter our political lexicon…
Wouldn’t it be nice though if they all just Fawked off. Ah, could keep this up all day!
well done again Guido the lobby are the X-factor of journalism. Too busy wanting the immoral gains from copy and pasting (covers) tit bit fed to them from extreme bias.
This would appear to be the Largest part of this once great democratic countries downfall.
The lobby seem more interested in personal gain than honest reporting.
These people disgust me for being no more than muse fed reporters with no backbone or ability to question.
Blinkered bloody sheep the lot of them
So what happens now that Gus O’Donnell has pronounced?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7999671.stm
Gus the teaboy makes a cracking Earl Grey.
I am the leader of the gang ( I am).
How the stomach’s of these craven journalists should be churning. Spineless, valueless cheerleaders. Let’s see how many more see the light – Alice Miles is bang on the money in today’s excellent Times article. Nick Robinson is amongst the worst offenders, a Brown super – toady, a semi employee; armed to the teeth in terms of potential effectiveness but timid of using his influence legitimately, with good conscience and for the people, rather than those that would be their masters.
Guido – keep up the good work – it’s riveting
Hmmmm. While I’m delighted with what you did, and followed the proceedings with glee, your last couple pieces seem to have the air of “wrap up” and the repeat of the key points for those who’ve been away.
The story’s fallen off the Sky front page, and been demoted to the sidelines on the BBC front page. Most papers websites have dropped it too.
If you have any more bullets (and I’m a little worried that you haven’t), then I’d respectfully suggest that now is the time to fire them.
Please?
do not be troubled UNDERWOOD. this is the start..
right? Guido..
Don’t worry about bullets. The current idiots who are running the United Kingdom of once Great Britain and Northern Ireland are actually part of a complex parody of the their unstated hero V.I. Lenin – wwho said “Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them”
Broons lot are currently in the process of manufacturing the bullets with which we can shoot them.
How about more expenses scandals withing 2 weeks as a Starter for 10?
Surely if he has, then it will be another case of “Something for the weekend”
If nobody hasn’t learned that Guido has planned the Guidogate affair for maximum impact, then where have they been. If there is to be a round two, it will come just as those involved will be thinking that they have weathered the storm.
I’m sure too there’s more to come, and that worries me, why? My Mrs on seeing DD and Guido on the Daily Politics clip shown on Newsnight last night remarked that I am a body double for politics new hero. From face to the gut of good living, I guess in the world of ZaNuLiebore that might make me a potential victim of mistaken identity, where are those fucking ID cards when you need them?
Guido – I’ve been working away for the past ten years, keeping my head down and saying “It’s not my country any more, I’m not a part of this, I’ll just carry on quietly and keep to myself.” That seemed the best way to ward off the despair I felt, and the anger at the self-important shower of incompetent, judgmental hypocrites who infest Westminster and just about any public institution you care to name.
Thank-you for shining a light under the stone and sending all those lice scuttling for cover. Dare I say I’m beginning to feel a little optimism again?
Mind how you go…and make sure you’ve got some wise heads around to stop you overshooting the mark – there’s plenty of nasty little shits out there waiting for you to make a false move.
Very moving Geeds.
Keep your chin up it will change, it has to change and nothing will stop it changing.
Browns useless attempt today to get the signatures of sewer rats that they’ll stop being sewer rats is tantamount to a full blown V sign to the people.
Wanker is too good a word for the moron of all morons.
Don’t let the bastards grind you down.

Did someone mention Gordon Brown’s Rat
Is No Rat, Is Hamster.
did someone call ? is it my turn to be PM now?
Well. If Cherie hadn’t disposed of Humphrey this wouldn’t have happened.
WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR GORDON TO GO?????
A REVOLUTION!
None of the survivors has the guts but they’re all circling like vultures waiting for him to die and to take up the reins: Beria, Malenkov, Kruschev, Molotov… ooh, wrong century!
But it has a familiar odour.
Hadrians wall being mined.
Gordon is a moron
You’re my hero, Guido! And a national hero, too!
Keep up the brilliant work.
Great post Guido, keep up the good work.
hear, hear, Shirley.
Brown/Balls didn’t seem to know what the Bride was up to.Isn’t this level of naivety dangerous at the top of the Government machine?
If you believe that….
I’m really looking forward to Marr interviewing McMental this Sunday. We are going to see Marr tossing (no sniggering in the back) McNokia easy balls to bat off.
AM “Were you as shocked as we were about these mails Prime mentalist?”
PM “You know Andrew, I’m just trying to get on with the job, this is no time for a novice, it all started in America, hard working families….”
AM “Well thank you Gordon you’re a great man and David Cameron is just a fucking twat…”
Marr was a communist and a fucking twat to boot, he looks like a cartoon character with large sticky out ears
and trousers round his ankles
Oi !! I heard that!!
Spot on, nailed the bastards.
The Labourlist seems to have undergone some cleaning today
All Draper’s entries don’t seem to be there anymore, nor the comments
I see the fat ex-pie eater is still there with his big mouthed video against the fine upstanding citizen Daniel Hannan though.
“If you live by smear” eh? – eh? – eh?
hahahaha
No, still seems to be there. If you are running the latest version of IE you may need to access the setting menus to uncheck the “Block self-serving shite” box.
Only Chrome, none of that micros**t
It’s so good it doesn’t work on some government websites
That might change. My 18 year old is going to a first-rate uni in the autumn and is already an avid reader of GF, and quicker to pick up the BS on Al-JaBeeba than me!
Go on, my son!
At long last the truth – long live freedom of speach against the establishment
McBride might have gone (temporarily) but nothing much has changed yet. Brown’s tame journalists are still spinning on his behalf right this very morning.
The smear campaign to discredit James Purnell and imply that he is gay is still in full swing. Balls is following his teacher Brown and is concentrating on destroying any opposition to his taking over.
I really couldn’t give a monkey’s toss if these ZaNuLieBor fuckers harchet each other to death, the slower the better. The problem is when they start doing it to human beings, which broadly is anyone who is not a New Labour MP/apparatchik.
I can even forgive the idiots who voted for them – but only just!
TH, this is a rather different matter. Yes, that was a rather condescending dismissal of protesters, but hardly the same as an insidious smear campaign organised from within the heart of government.
(OK, that last comment didn’t make much sense appearing here instead of alongside the overly long post about Roger Evans… Still can’t quite get the hang of this new indented thing, Guido.)
OUCH, you twat, that hurt!
I’m going to report you for that you bastard!
Wait until Guido here’s about this.
What? Tell the papers? – Is that a joke?
Guido is the ONLY place to be when you need to get the truth out!
The Civl Service’s Shameful complicity with the Smeargate coverup.
From Coffeehouse:
So, there should surely be a rule that stops permanent secretaries co-authoring books with SpAds. Sir Gus O’Donnell’s decision to write Microeconomic Reform in Britain: Delivering Opportunities for All (note the highly political title) with Balls and another civil servant, the book has an introduction from Brown, makes it hard for the public to look upon him as an impartial
arbiter.
The Telegraph has been taken over by Labour shills. Apart from one or two notable exceptions like Jeff Randall and Liam Halligan, Brown’s stooges are controlling the news output.
If all Telegraph readers who feel strongly about this started boycotting the paper then the situation would have to change rapidly.
Already done that!
dumped the risible Tellytubbygraph a while back
it’s been piss-poor for quite some time
But where can we get the real news. No disrespect Guido, but you can only run two or three issues a day. Pity the little Fawkes are too young to help. …and you do need help. Just imagine 30 or 40 Guidos with two or three revelations a day.
I just read about Sir Gus O’Donnell’s words on this scandal. Predictable evasion and buck-passing.
This guy is very much in the tradition of government watchdogs. Political sin has nothing to fear from people like lapdog O’Donnell, John ‘hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil ‘ Lyon, the infamous (no) Standards and (lots of ) Privileges Committee and the ‘not in the public interest’ Electoral Commission. I do hope they are on your to-do list Guido.
Story so far then:
McBride moved not sacked.
Watson unaffected.
Grudging non-apology.
The usual Blairites wingeing on but nobody in ZNL standing up to be counted.
The good performance by stand-in media people being eroded now the establishment is back.
We ain’t got a result yet.
We don’t want any more results, surely?
The longer there’s no significant apologies or resignations, the longer the story will burn away.
The longer it takes for Gordon to use the word “sorry” which every normal person in the country is expecting him to use instead of “regret the damage to politics”, the WORSE he comes across.
If he’d said, the day McBride resigned, “Look, sorry. This was bang out of order. He’s resigned. I apologise for letting this happen, I’ll keep a better watch on my staff in future”, then it would all be over by now.
The “I’m not going to apologise” thing is making it worse…
We are still waiting for him to say sorry about the state of the economy, something even the MSM were demanding a few weeks back.
Unfortunately by the time he does get round to saying sorry it will be too late. No one will believe it.
I have thought about this very, very carefully over the soup I had for luncheon.
I am still thinking….
tentative conclusions are Yes I agree
a whte paper will come out during toilet time at six o’clock.
You cannot keep a story going if the subject is still in hiding.
The yellow one has got to come out of his rat hole soon and face the music.
You lost me at “Assessment Sub-Committee”
OK the long boring post seems to have been deleted!
Powerful stuff: A big thank you Guido. Unfortunately I think someone else will fill McPoisons place and the spineless bunch of lazy shits will be at it again.
Is that you, Van Helsing Nat Slayer, you poisonous New Labour mouthpiece?
Jumped the fence have you?
You are talking bollox numbnuts.
If you are a Teletubbygraph reader you will have read this before!

Anyway, really glad to hear from you, you outrageous flirt.
Back to the garden.

OMG Old Nick Heavenly (real name , honest) !!!
Weird ! I woz typing something at the time , tooo . As usual , it weren’t at all relevant an deffo weren’t subversive but you never know where the dark forces are at work . Thankfully , I ain’t seen the mysterious van wiv smoked-out windows outside my pad recently .
Been around , hun . The Storygraph got a bit fucked off wiv me interferin wiv their ’serious’ journalism so I just trolled even harder for a while . Couldn’t get anythin to stick , accounts deleted constantly etc. an then I got a bad case of writer’s block lol .
Thursday night , I woz idly flickin elastic bands against my nipples an came on here an , blow me , somethin woz about to happen . So , stuck around for the biggest thing in politics since Eggwina rode side saddle on John Major .
Guido’s a good host an I feel I’m amongst friends here .
Great to see ya , petal .
Later © E x .
Right on!
Typical Miles … completely oblivious while she’s a part of the problem , now someone’s (Guido) has finally shown us the light , all of a sudden she’s full of reflection … what utter pish .
I posted a comment to the Times on this article asking why Miles hadn’t addressed her own question of ‘why did we help to spread the poison?’ , but as ever it won’t get printed … too many gushing comments of adoration for yet another average columnist with little genuine insight .
Last week she was saying leave MPs alone, they deserve their allowances.
Two-faced bitch.
I noticed that as well. Lot’s of bluster, but no real point to her piece ?
You could almost view it as spin. Give the impression that you are asking why and answering, but not really. It just looks like you have done something, when you have done nothing.
Tried posting critical (not offensive) comment on her article but has not been printed. Wonder how many more “critical” comments have been ignored. Makes her look weak.
‘It just looks like you have done something, when you have done nothing.’
Indeed , it seems this particular labour virus is highly contagious .
There is no examination of the medias roll in these events at all , just that they are ‘key’ players and the rest just sounds like gossip … oooh so and so said this and I remember when he said that etc , which is exactly the sort of journalism that allows these things to happen in the first place .
The actions and deeds of the great and good ( or bad for that matter ) should be our news focus , not the foul words of these unelected Grimer Wormtongue’s . But , that would involve jurno’s getting off their well cushioned arses …
At least one, Anonymous………
Anon , I have had so many critical and unoffensive posts ignored , it has made the whole paper look weak . However , some may have been taken offensively and the very occassional one has been undoubtedly offensive , which I may be paying the price for .
However , imo , a good point is a good point regardless of previous form .
I expect she was too busy fucking wingnut.
spot on here, guido
Guido, you need elocution lessons if you are going to broadcast – you are speaking too quickly and slurring your words.
Very small-minded. It’s the content that matters and the content is generally fine. Sir Michael White has quite a refined voice – but crap is all that comes out of his mouth.
I thought he was speaking from the opposite end of his alimentary tract – hence the muffled voice when seated.
Perhaps he’s all the more believable because he hasn’t had elocution lessons, doesn’t use a teleprompter, and doesn’t travel with a stylist.
He doesn’t smile a lot when the camera is rolling and then drop the smile as soon as the camera is switched off either.
The last thing we want is Guido with media training.
..and don’t forget to add a flicker of a smile…the smile that says “We’ve got you bastards on the run”.
Guido has hit the nail on the head once again. If any story goes against the Governments Dogma then it is either ” rubbished” or ignored. This is particularly prevalent in Scotland as the media have totally ignored this story since the beginning.
The e-petition raised by Freedom To Choose (Scotland) is shown below ( with the link to the Scottish Parliament website ).
The Consultation it refers to is factually incorrect and the last paragraph of the petition is particularly worrying as the design of the consultation has been done to achieve statistics in support of ” Smoke free mental health services in Scotland. Link to Consultation Documents:-

IT HAS NOT HAD MENTIONED AT ALL IN THE UK PRESS OR MEDIA, EITHER NATIONAL OR LOCAL.

It is usually ignored. Very rarely is it rubbished as it is the truth, and so cannot be rubbished.
It’s just that the government don’t like the truth being known when it comes to smoking-relating issues, particularly the underhand tactics of the tobacco control organisations.
That is why it remains out of the main stream media in the UK.
I agree with what you say Helen. The last thing the Tobacco Contro Organisations l have on their mind is the ” Wellbeing” of patients in Psychiatric Hospitals and the MSM should realise this. The judgement on the Rampton Appeal heard in the High Court on 25/26th February in London is still awaited, it seems to be taking a long time to produce.
Todays anti-smoking purge is borrowed from the Nazis…..
http://thetaoofblog-pablothehat.blogspot.com/2007/10/todays-anti-smoking-purge-is-borrowed.html
Bravo Guido,
the MSM have been complicit in the ruination of the UK. Blair and Brown couldn’t have got away with it if journalists had done their job properly. We’ve been forced to stomach laws which have removed all of our rights and been told what to think by those who have had a vested interest in maintaining the lies.
The vile mendacious BBC especially needs to be abolished, as we are forced to pay for it.
I’m not sure the BBC needs to be “abolished” but it certainly needs to be brought down a peg and forced to comply with its own Charter. Recently it’s just been a mouthpiece for the Government and the Israel lobby.
I’s make them sell off the non-core bits, reduce the number of executives by about 2/3 and go back to being a public service broadcaster. THEN I’d be comfortable about paying a licence fee of perhpas £100 pa.
The alternative of being at the mercy of ITV and Murdoch is too horrible to contemplate…
Those that would run the ‘New and improved BBC’ would be drawn, by lot, from the licence payers to ensure that it is run by the ppl for the ppl.
Should be easy to sort..It’s all on the database after all.
All good stuff but this is one of the reasons the BBC shills for Zanulabour: it is worried that a future Conservative Government will do to them what Beeching did to the railways. Long overdue too.
Not sure it needs to be abolished, but if you wish free politics then it has to be allowed to investigate, and the current “rules of engagement” revised to allow them to persue wrong doing
Even Ferguson won’t talk to the BBC
#216
As I understand it Ferguson won’t talk to the BBC because he’s still punishing them for investigating the business dealings of his son. He’s basically a bully in the same way the politicians bully journalists who have the temerity to ask difficult questions.
He does talk to them when he has to (Champion’s League press conferences)
no, that’s when he has to. the competition rules force him
see, you’ve confused himself. I that mis-spoke as well you might too
What’s the betting that BBC do a review and decide to be more critical and not sucking on the tit of the lobby.
(After the next election of course)
A mouthpiece for the Israel lobby? No doubt that is why Jeremy Bowen has just been found guilty of inaccurate and partial reporting against Israel.
Not quite. He was criticised only for balance and for not giving the source of a comment completely enough.
“The committee said if Bowen had given the basis for his statement, it would not have been inaccurate, and the broadcast did not breach the rules on impartiality.”
“A spokesman for BBC News said of the ruling on the web article: ‘This is a single, partially-upheld finding related to one piece of output about events that took place over 40 years ago and our Middle East editor was simply exercising his professional judgment on history.”
The problem is that anyone who doesn’t parrot the Israeli line is accused of inaccuracy and lacking impartially.
Bowens references to ‘Zionism’s innate instinct to push out the frontier’; Israel’s ‘defiance of everyone’s interpretation of international law except its own’; and Israeli generals’ sense they were dealing with ‘unfinished business’ left over from the 1948 war of independence seem fairly accurate to me.
Go and Spend it Boys = islamofasist
Second that.
While a lot of journalists are plain fucking stupid a fair few of them have had a decent education. There is no way a paper like the Guardian should have been backing Labour over anything while they persevere with their insane ID card scheme.
Every fucking journalist in the country should have been railing against the removal of double jeopardy and the right to silence. Yet we have imbecile journalists who will go along with detention without charge for 90 days. Do these people get no training at all? Do they not understand why these checks against the abuse of power were introduced in the first place?
They are as bad as the Labour politicians. I’m thinking of Jack Fucking Straw in particular here and all the other legally trained Labour MPs. Blair and others.
How, the fuck, do they square away their destruction of centuries of liberty and control on the abuse of power with a fairer and more inclusive society? Surely part of legal training is to explain why all those boring old checks and balances like double jeopardy and right to silence are there in the first place.
It’s because when you open your gob you may inadvertently be using a word which to you is fairly innocuous but to the fucking court amounts to a confession.
I’ll give you an example. Years ago I was returning to the US from Canada having driven over the border to see some relatives. I was there (in the US) on holiday while my missus was on some three month assignment with her company. Anyway I got stopped by the US customs and asked what I was doing in the US. Well, number one I’m returning my car and number two my missus is here working.
Work? Work? Taking a job off a fucking American? Fucking hell. And what is her visa status? No fucking idea mate I guess her company will have sorted it out. You mean you don’t know if your missus has a work visa? Yep, that’s right.
Weeeeell. I was there for an hour while this arsehole tippetty-tapped away on his computer to find out that yes indeed my wife had the requisite business visa or whatever the fuck she needed.
Now I’m reasonably articulate but the ‘problem’ arose because I used the word ‘work’ instead of ‘business’. Well excuse me.
And that, ladies and gentlemen is why you should keep your fucking gob shut when questioned by the police. Because you don’t know what key-word will be used to encourage you to self-incriminate.
Oh, you ran into the back of that car sir – that was a bit careless wasn’t it? Well, yes I suppose it was….
Three weeks later you’re being prosecuted for ‘Careless driving’. In fact it turns out you confessed.
And so on.
Fucking Straw and Blair and the rest of those Labour fuckers understand this and yet still they did away with such rights.
Evil fucking bastards.
They should be forced into a encrypted subscription model.
Having to give people what they feel is worth paying for means they will have to actually the publics point of view rather than just the grauniad readers.
You certainly hit a raw nerve with Jeremy!
Absolutely – and what a time for Nick Robinson to have this on his blog:
“Though merely a humble witness to the saving of the world and the turning of the page and the creation of a new world order, I do now feel in need of a lie down – so I’m off on my hols and back after Easter.”
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/nickrobinson/2009/04/au_revoir.html
Pirate Radio!!!!
Every ferker does it in America so why can’t Guido do one here?
Bring back pirate radio Guido and let me be one of your 5,000 special advisers!
Please please please Guido!
Setting up your own internet radio stn doesn’t seem too difficult…mmmmm?
Guido should set up his own TV station on the net.
internet radio broadcasting isn’t difficult at all, the tech is pretty simple and for OK speech quality the bandwidth requirements are quite modest – I have been involved in running/maintaining with a ‘net radio station for several years – should Guido be interested in following this up then I would be most happy to offer any assistance that might be required (probably none, the guy has the tech side sorted pretty much anyway)
Guido’s server is based in LA, so why not an internet radio/TV station.
(I really recommend shifting it further away from potential government interference though–Russia, Ukraine and Israel are good)
oooooh Guido, will you put the Good life back on, oh and the young ones, at least that one where they all catch flu, and steptoe and son.
And can we Have Zulu on at Christmas again and mybe the Great escape.
Thanks Guido – the BBC should hang its head in shame.
Nick Robinson – publish your expenses.
Cronyism in the lobby or self-satisfied mob rule on the blogs?
What an ugly choice.
At least the self satisfied mob here are not publicly funded.
If there was none the first there would be none of the second. People have been lied to for so long, any small redress will be greeted with joy. This is not mob rule yet. There is still have time to restore the balance, just not too much.
I’ll vote for the self-(un)satisfied mob.
When is the election?
Guido,
Are there any facts & figures as to how much taxpayers money is put in to subsidise the Lobby bar in the House of Whores?
Thanks
As much as it takes.
Welcome back
MI5 handiwork?
Shilling in the meter.
It’s a bit windy out there
Getting a bit concerned there.
lol
Phew – thought you’d gone for a walk in the woods
I thought DNS – Dolly’s Net Services.
Is it journalists who are scared? I would say not, I would say it is the Editors and newspaper proprietors. There are lots of brave journalists out there, but they are controlled by wimps.
Perhaps, but many are just lazy, it’s easier to just take the handouts as Guido says.
No greater example exists than the American media’s “coverage” of the last elections, if they’d done their job vetting Obama he’d never even have been the Dem nominee.
I think he made a very good point against Paxman but he was either to fatuous to notice what he was getting at or Guido isn’t some Labour spin meister and therefore can be ignored because he can call on Mr Everywhere Dale
Alice Miles’ piece in The Times today IS a milestone of sorts. Of course, she’s not the first to break the taboo of lobby correspondents telling it like it is behind closed doors – but her timing couldn’t have been better.
Perhaps taking the lead from David Cameron’s soundbite on the topic yesterday when he attacked the thuggish culture which Brown has deliberately fostered over the years, she’s helped to entrench this as a major sub-plot to the whole story.
Dare we hope that other lobby correespondents who’ve received a hairdrying over the years will now publish colourful annecdotes about Brown’s attack dogs? I’m sure we’d all like to read them.
And it’s not just the craven hacks this hope applies to – there’s a whole army of bruised and battered labour backbenchers who should now feel that they have nothing to lose in educating the public about what a nasty, vindictive, boorish, morose twat Brown is. The more colourful the annecdotes, the more the mood against him will harden in the public’s mind.
By the way – I agree that Mathew Parris is about the only former lobby journalist who can hold his head up high in this matter – I particularly remember a piece where he expounded on Brown’s psychological flaws by relating examples of Brown’s obnoxious habit of phoning up journalists at six in the morning to berate them, hairdryer fashion, if they’d dared to criticise him in print.
“… to berate them, hairdryer fashion, …”
Huh ?
Hold a hairdryer up to your ear and switch it on. Then imagine it’s a telephone and an irate Gordon Brown is on the other end of the line!
mm that was a worry. Guido it would be a good idea to post some links to an alternate site that we can regather if there is foul play at work. Or it could be that your server crashed because there are so many people on it. Either way thank god this wasnt down for long.
Twitter?
Actually, I think I’m beginning to like the idea that Gordon’s been trying to make us believe lately, namely that as the boss you are completely unaccountable for the actions of the people who work for you.
I’m a company director. I’ve always assumed that if someone who works for me makes a “mistake” in our VAT return such that we end up trousering all the VAT we’ve collected from our customers rather than paying it over to HMRC, I would get into trouble. But maybe I wouldn’t. Maybe all I’d have to do is sack the person involved, say that I knew nothing about it, and promise to tighten up the company code of conduct for filling in VAT returns.
Worth a try?
Absolutely watertight (not)
Go for it – but I don;t fancy your chances.
tried it. It dont work like that…
Thought not. I guess it’s another example of one law for them, one law for us…
Have a read of what SENIOR TORY MP’s and the DEPUTY MAYOR OF LONDON think of DONAL BLANEY and his rants about Obama’s grandmother and calling for the death of TED KENNEDY!!!!!!!
http//www.ddtaylor88.wordpress.com
Is that the real verity or just a Verity ?
My other half is called verity but she couldn’t guve a fuck about politics. So if it helps, it’s not my verity.
It’s not the Verity we know and love. She knows not to end sentences with more than one exclamation mark.
It’s been spamming blogs for a few days. Been blocked by some.
verity I say unto you..
Verity has been banned by Iain Dale but I know not why.
Really ?
Well, she she certainly wasn’t a Cameroon !
I thought that ted kennedy had been dead for years.
He has, morally.
[...] 14.17 BST…he’s back up. [...]
Nelson is not “frozen out”, he is just ignored by everyone because he is little more than a Cameron mouthpiece and the most supine of all the lobby journalists!
Remember this is the man that predicted a January election! What a clown.
And who’s mouth (ring) piece are you?
Rupert Bear is alive and kicking (and stark raving mad)
yes but he wears nice scarves..
http://www.order-order.com/2008/04/you-wont-read-this-in-papers/
Found it.
£210,000 a year subsidy for lobby journalists to drink at our expense whilst NOT telling us what the Government is up to.
Hmmm. That doesn’t sound fair.
Interesting (tho’ unhealthy) symbiotic relationship between media and government.
US Senator Benjamin Cardin is introducing a bill to enable the govt. to bail out failing newspapers. Governments can’t have their paid-for mouthpieces failing, can they?
We ought to watch out for that sort of thing coming here – as I’m sure it will.
No doubt the owners of the Mirror will be first in line if it does…”please sir…can I have some more?”.
Link is bust – really must improve my typing – try this
There is absolutely no suggestion that the Prime Minister knew about any of this.
And black is white, white is black and Brown knows nothing about anything at all.
White is white and black is black,
It all goes on behind his back
Red is Red and Blue is Blue
And not a word he ever says is true
Black is black
White is white
And all thats said
by Broon is shite
Conspiracy theory about being out of internet reach?
I thought the plug had been pulled….was it?
was it claimed on expenses?
The whole Blair/Brown saga has often reminded me of the old Hans Christian Anderson story – The Emperors New Clothes
http://deoxy.org/emperors.htm
I kinda sums up the way the lobby works, and Guido is the little boy, cheers mate
is there a definitive list of who make up the group of lobby “journalists” and which outlet they work for.
if someone (guido?) could post the list here we could all go to there blogs and tell them what we think of their complicity in the last 12 years of filth and lies.
“i was only obeying orders” didn’t work for the nazis – lets hope toenails and co have a better excuse when this disastrous regime has gone.

instead of ALL of them
Nothing will change though. The MSM will have to pay to get journalists that have thought that extends beyond pressing & simultaneously.
My comment didn’t work very well – meant to say “extends beyond pressing CTRL and V simultaneously.”
I have been blogging on this since 2003 and made much the same points a couple of days ago
wot was that all abaht?
Without being picky – your current blog starts in 2005 which is blog archeology territory.
Linky for your 2003 sooth-saying?
Well done Guido. Lets hope this will open the floodgates so that all the stinking rodents in government including King McRat drown in their own stinking effluent.
The hypocrisy of Ed Balls on the today programme this morning is sickening. On one hand he condemns McBride for the email yet goes for Guido at the same time. Surely, if he was appalled at the email he would be congratulating Guido for exposing McBride and Draper. It’s the expose of the bunker that has them rattled – not the contents of the email. These duplicitous politicians are shams and Guido has done the public a huge service. Long may he light the fuse on these frauds.
A lot of truth in what you say, Guido, but how tortuous life would be if political commentary was all muck-racking exposes. There’s nothing that wrong with simply “getting an interview” with a politician. I quite enjoy watching them make fools of themselves.
Guido, I’m looking forward to your article on this :-
“Cherie Blair’s stepmother at centre of ‘vote rigging’ row as she clears first hurdle to become an MP”
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1170211/Cherie-Blairs-stepmother-centre-vote-rigging-row-clears-hurdle-MP.html
Well, she’s had to watch Cherie and Tony stuff themselves at the trough for a decade. One could hardly blame her for wanting a bit of the action herself (note: fake compassion).
It’s also a useful dry-run for postal vote rigging in the next general election.
Tony Booth and his daughter – imagine having to go around looking like that
for the rest of your life and then be related to another “joker” – Tony Blair . LOL
Postal votes again?I strongly advise all political candidates (apart from Labour) to have scrutineers at voting counts and to make sure voting registers are not “disappeared”.Am I accusing Labour of cheating at Elections with postal votes? You bet
hear hear .
Yhey have plent of previous and plans well advanced to schlenter the next election too.
I was about to pen the same sentiment. I hope Cameron’s on the ball.
We have a secret voting system in this country, instigated to do away with intimidation. There is no way a postal voting system can guarantee annonymity. In my opion postal viting is illegal – I’d like to see some consitutional lawyer take this on.
I’m sorry to say that intimidation and ‘vote theft’ is especially rife in Asian areas – many of the women espeically are deprived of their votes. This could not happen if they had to vote in the privacy of the booth
Pursuant to my earlier notice that alcoholics will not receive benefits, this innovative scheme will extend to other classes of person with immediate effect.
To save listing them all, below are THE ONLY categories of person who WILL receive full unemployment benefit.

Go and get a proper job asshole
Next year he will be leader of the opposition. Will that do?
I like the Newsnight piece. “Bollocks”, “pathetic conspiracy world” Nice to see Paxman putting up an intelligent, coherent arguement and not being at all overdefensive then?
It made paxo look like a total Hoon.
Paxo fears the truth.
Should’ve told Paxo to get stuffed.
He’s no sage and he doesn’t know his onions
There may be some personal baggage being unloaded here by Alice Miles, who has very good personal reasons to loathe the Labour uber-toady, and father of her daughter, Andy Marr.
Indeed. Bizarre pillow-talk me thinks.
Sounds more than reasonable to me, especially after a few dozen bevvies on the taxpayers with Andy M and Lord Micky White.
I am the leader of the gang (I am ).
Prime Mentalist has approved this massage
Just heard on Radio 5 that Dolly has been dumped by the Labour Party. His ‘advice’ will no longer be sought.
The sad truth is we are all basically lazy and greedy, given half the chance.
Unfortunately most of us are not given that half chance, but journalists by following the party line in order to be fed exclusives are exercising their lazy nature and more important their editors are exercising their lazy nature by allowing them to do so.
Ultimately we the readers/viewers cease to read/view and they find shrinking circulation and advertising revenue will/might make them think again…all except the BBC, of course.
Now that we have a socialist Labour party, a socialist Conservative party and a socialist Liberal party, even the “opposition” is not there to provide a balance.
Bunch of tossers the lot of them
“The hardest thing on earth it is
To bribe a British journalist
But seeing what, unbrib’d, he’ll do
There’s really no occasion to”
No sign of any of Dolly’s sock puppets today. I wonder why? Perhaps McBride was Ambrose Silk?
I took time, whilst the web was down to read Alice Miles’ article where she talks of the”thuggish culture which Brown has fostered over the years”. Leading on from that I started researching some of this ‘gang’that were planning the redrag, namely Charlie Whelan- best mate of Gordon Brown and Charlie’s right hand man Andrew Dodgshon who was going to be the editor of redrag.
I found a letter from one Sarah Merrill a political officer at Unite complaining that Mr Whelan’s political department at Unite is run under a ” real culture of bullying ———–totally against the principles established under any dignity-at-work procedures.” Apparantly fear factor in their office was so bad that the staff at Unite talked about going on strike. It seems that Mr Brown’s closest friends all have the same hateful traits. It’s time their numerous and widespread victims got together and outed them.
I wonder what tales of political bullying would emerge in the constituency and Downing Street office of Tom Watson? If only people would take their courage in their hands and speak out.
It’s only wimmin talk.
I am the leader of the gang, (I am )
You must remember Women rule the world. Where would you be without us? No apple pies for a start.
The only reason McMoron got anywhere near the top of the Labour party was because of his ruthlessness even back in the nineties.
After all he has no other talents – no intelligence, no charisma, no social skills etc
But I have saved the world from economic disaster with my best mate Barack…..and I love my best mate’s dog.
Subliminal message service reminder:
Nu Labour = New Product = New Politics = Old advertising backed up with a permanent campaign to keep the subliminal “newness” in place.
“Pepsodent” all over again and that was rolling back in 1948.
NuLabour as we know is / was nothing “new”.
The disgrace is that so many fell for the slick adverts of a product which works no better than a simple tub of bi-carb it’s just more expensive.
Don’t fall for any more crap!
The super salesman with the permanent grin and shiny white teeth, wasn’t real and neither is / was the NuLabour fiasco.
Only mouthwash will take the tast of NuLabour away and the sooner it’s done the better.
As an old proverb says, and you can ask any DRAPER, a stitch in time saves nine.

[...] UPDATE: Oh look, he’s back. What a surprise. Actually, while we’re on the subject, his post about journalists earlier today was Awe. Some. [...]
Meanwhile I believe Peter Robinson and Martin McTerrorist have been complaining that the Belfast Telegraph has been too critical of their successes at Stormont.
A joke on all counts.
You – and Paxman – are both wrong on the BBC ‘empty chair’ policy.
Paxman, because the policy does not mean that a government statement must be read out (let alone in full) at the end of the ‘piece’ without further comment from the interviewer or other participants. It may be criticised and commented upon by opponents.
You are (technically) wrong
Surely if you allowed opponents to criticise a statement rather than read it out verbatim, it would put pressure on the non-appearing side to put someone up for interview pretty quickly. After a few examples of a pre prepared statement being torn to shreds there would be a real incentive to get someone to the studio pretty quickly.
I agree with this arguement. and am happy to endorse it for a fee.
You’re all wrong. Gordon is a great man. I love him!
Yes 3 cheers for heroic Gordon who saved the world from economic meltdown.
Looks a picture don’t ‘e! Got a tenner for a carry oot?
the ambulance is on its way….
I am fairly disinterested by politics but have become shocked by what seems to be going on. Gavin Essler’s interview of Ed Miliband on Newsnight was less probing than Richard and Judy!
He had been disembowelled by John Snow on Channel 4 and ITV news by comparison. Having dismissed calls that there is bias at the BBC, I think you may have a point.
Welcome to the real world. Nice to see you. I know people who still believe that what they see and hear on the BBC is the truth. They are still on the dark side.
More in the dark than on the Dark Side I think. It takes us all a bit of time to appreciate that thoughtful old Auntie Beeb has turned into a superficial tart with questionable allegiances.
“old Auntie Beeb has turned into a superficial tart with questionable allegiances.”
More like she has turned into an opium junkie who will sell anything she has, including herself, to get another gram of smack from her pimp.
I’ve been ranting and raving at the BBC for its bias for aobut 30 years – I didn’t have a telly before that, I was out all the time (drinking with Jeff Bernard – would love to have read him on this kettle of stinking fish))
I stopped tuning into Newsnigth a few years ago – it was/is too distressing, esp when Kirsty Skwark is on. She is very powerful in Labour politics in Scotland where iirc her husband is a top Labour apparatchik. How can they allow such clearly partisan people to present political programmes and esp to interview politicians? Her treatment of Tory ministers when they were in power was shameful – she would just shout them down. and interrupt constantly. Labour shadows and then ministers were by contrast given the easiest of rides. Paxo not much better… and so it goes on, and has until now. Only Brillo has been fairly even-handed
We can all celebrate the end of McPoison but the sad fact is client journalism continues apace, witness the assault on the bloggers as proof, and indeed may worsen as the MSM – affraid of the free Market Internet competition – allies itself with the government and feels more dependent on their drip feed.

Guido, I’d love to know how events over the last week have increased site traffic. A lot of your posts are now attracting replies of 400+ and i’m seeing loads of newbies complimenting the website and the cut of your jib in general.
I just wanted to say, keep up the amazing work!
Humans are simple creatures who thrive on TRUTH and reality, not the bullshit alternative reality our ‘masters’ forcefeed us. I nominate you my friend, as Truthfinder General.
Three cheers for Guido!
Hip-Hip………
Seconded. And let’s just hope that the increase in traffic was the reason for the little technical glitch earlier today and that it wasn’t a result of anything more sinister. I wouldn’t put anything past this government.
‘Truth’ is the new spin.
But no one believes me!
“Truthfinder General”, hmmm, has a certain ring to it.
Will this be the first 1000+ comment post?
Is Order-Order free of the millenium bug if so?
Not sure. Did Maguire’s posting the other day get 1000 posts that gave him a good kicking?
Somebody posted on there that he should be greatful for Guido because he (Maguire) had never had so many people visit and post on his blog! F**ckin Hoon (Maguire, not our Guido)
In In Back in 2002 I worked on a project for the minister for ecommerce (or digital age or something) on a number10.gov.uk replacement site. There was a discussion area but this was moderated and users felt censored. The moderation of user posts was denied but since I built the software I can confirm it did exist
Many users moved to a well-known politics site at the time that was set up and run by an amateur (name=politicus?). One user posted the name and address of the government moderation company on politicus. (based in Islington)
The next day the amateur website (politicus?)and all it’s data was deleted from it’s servers unexpectedly – not by the goverment oh no.
There was also a press release for the new site that contained positive feedback – I know about this too since I was asked to create the user account and wrote all this feedback.
Shame, I enjoyed using those old feedback areas on Government websites. That was when I actually believed Government might occasionally listen. What a naive prick I was.
Anyhow, I am glad to see someone finally fessin’ up to the abusive moderation on those websites towards the end. They were a bit anarchic, therefore entirely out of keeping with the clean, modern, controlled fascist state that New Labour thought it could forge with words alone.
At least they have the Police on their side judging by this mornings papers.
you must be uncle Gus..and I hereby claim my unemployment benefits
You might be a fat b****** Guido, but you are a modern day hero. Now just make sure you don’t get caught shagging an undercover journalist or generally squandering your new found credibility. There is more work to be done.
The MSM are already trying to smear Guido – they can’t write an article about him without mentioning a driving ban or something. But who cares? He’s got more balls than the whole of Fleet Street put together; but because he has shown them up for what they are – a bunch of government patsies – they will try to discredit him.
I just meant for GF not to make it easy for them, as i am sure he won’t.
I think the events of the weekend are the birth pangs of a revolution, minus-guns and blood. This makes Guido a marked man. I hope he knows that. I am sure he does.
Journalists mentioning Guido’s driving ban? What, these journalists whose occupation (along with Pub Landlords, Actors and Jockeys) is on the Motor Insurance blacklist?
But that is surely Mr Fawkes bullet-proof jacket. McBride dug all the oh la la stuff up eons ago so it is not a story now – in fact it’s now part of his anti-political/bad boy persona.
In a bizarre quirk of fate – Watson/McBride’s desire to kill off Guido earlier rather than later has rendered him inviolate as there is no ‘new’ dirt to squirt at his press mates.
QED – Guido plays the I’m not pretending to be perfect card and no shit sticks.

great article great work great times coming. Toast racks for all!
Yep. Fantastic work Guido – I read the Alice Miles article and it is simply too late. One of the comments was to praise her bravery in writing the article. Tosh. Expedience that’s all that was as with Steve Richards in the Independent. Far too little and far too late.
So – Peter Oborne, Frazer Nelson, (Matthew Parris – not mentioned by you), haven’t read much by Martin Bright but if G.B. pressed for his sacking he had to be an independent and fair minded journalist are all journalists I can read and enjoy and not constantly look for the spin angle. I would include Charles Moore too
Christopher Booker
Jeff Randell
Ambrose Evans-Pritchard
Anyone notice similar techniques used by that old socialist legend ‘Sir’ Alex Ferguson? He’s had a vice like grip on sports hacks for about a decade now. They barely question his thug like behaviour because if they do, they don’t get the interviews anymore. Remember that nice bit of dirt that the sports lobby kept suppressed? About lady boy Ronaldo, whinging and whining about going to a Munich memorial. No-one had heard this gem of an anecdote until… Ronaldo nearly moves to Real Madrid last summer. Then up pops some ‘journalist’ with the story.
It’s not a coincidence that this man is intertwined with the Labour party is it now? He’s learnt his tricks from them, and English footy is all the poorer for it.
Please can we kick the Scottish mafia out of England.
No way, Ringworm!
We have ENOUGH of the Scots mafia up here as it is without having to take back your rejects!
And don’t think of flying them back up here-we have Ack Acks and SAMs sited at the border!
Nope, we most certainly don’t want them back so don’t try THAT one on!
Anyway, Brown tells the Americans he is North British.
You could always exile him and his remoras to Muckle Flugga.
You know, I would rather pay these trough feeding Labour Mp’s £120k to STAY AT HOME and leave Parliament the feck alone than have them turn up for work and continue to piss on us.
Parliament should be put on a two day week immediately. Why the feck do MP’s need to be there five days a week for anyhow? It’s not as though we don’t have anough laws already.
These people have got WAY too much time on their hands and they are using to find solutions to problems that just don’t exist.
It’s time for a parliamentary recess. About a year should do it.
Well said Guido – death to the copy-takers – can we have some journalists now please?
Paxo is wrong: the BBC empty chair policy does not mean the BBC is forced to run a government statement WITHOUT FURTHER COMMENT OR CRITICISM from the other particpants or interviewer. After all, if the government refuses to participate in a broadcast discussion, that should not be allowed to impede the debate.
But Guido is (technically) wrong in asserting that Paxo does not himself have to ‘provide’ the empty chair. The BBC Guidelines state clearly that the presenter must him/herself enable the absent voice to be heard. So rather than reading out a gov. statement, it would be fulfilling the policy of evenhandedness if Paxo were to say to the ‘opponent’: ‘Well, the government claims that…[quoting/summarising statement]…’ and allowing opponent to continue, then saying ‘OK, but their line is…’ That’s quite enough. If on his own in the studio, Paxo could easily question illogicalities or untruths in the gov. statement, as long as he doesn’t rubbish it.
We don’t need spin-communiques from the Ministry of Truth, and they were almost unknown at the BBC until this government took over.
Governments should not be rewarded for a strategy of absence.
Indeed. The vehemence of Paxo’s retort to Guido revealed a sore point — I suspect he realises on some level that it is indefensible.
More to the point, he knows that Guido is treading on his toes as well as pulling his chain.
Is there any particular reason why the Prime Minister is not at Hillsborough showing respect today. This was one of the most horrible national tragedies this country has experienced and he should have attended.
He is. In the church next to Camilla and Prince Charles. Looking gormless – Gordon I mean.

This is my brown nose Brownie point winner for today.
If he had turned up the tragedy would have been repeated by the rush of people trying to rip his fucking head off.
Is there any particular reason the Prime Minister is not at Brize Norton every day wecoming back the bodies of brave servicemen dying for their country in far off fields?
I’ll answer my own question, if you don’t mind.
There is no camera, that’s why. And he doesn’t really give a shit.
Its worse than that. As chancellor he starved the Armed Forces of funds to spite Blair and of course as a snotty marxist he and the rest of the naziliebour scum hate the Armed Forces.
Theres no need to go to Brize Norton, the Met police provide plenty of bodies for him.
As an ex-serviceman (28 yrs served) I remember when Maggie got in in 1979 when I was 19 yrs old. Callaghan and the other Marxists starved the armed forces of a wage increase for years and Maggie gave us an average of 29%. Most people in the armed forces are not Labour supporters. That is why there was a debacle at the last (next to last?) election when those serving overseas couldnt vote because of a massive cock up.
Guido you pulled my comment to 223! I was only explaining that women rule the world . Surely dear kindly caring honest ,living off a minimum of his expenses Ed Balls was not right this morning when he called you a misogynist.
I meant to add: No. 10 and other ministers deliberately issue gov. statements in order to have the last word and leave the viewer/listener with a final impression dictated by government spin – and the BBC should not be allowing them to get away with this.
Look I’m sorry, right! really really really sorry. Now move on, get a life, I have.
I AM SUPERMAN! SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD! Next stop the rainforests. Onwards and upwards.
Love and kisses
Gordoman
All power to your elbow Guido, but as we live in a democracy it is good to see in the print media the fax copy of the so called handwritten letter from Gordon Brown graphically crafted with a broad ‘Sharpie’ type marker in a childlike script..
It looks, on closer inspection, that the letter is however nothing more than a faxed cover sheet for a typewritten letter to the head of the civil service with a personal salutation (incorrect spellings by all accounts) on each of the photocopied letters. Manners would dictate that hand delivered original to the aggrieved parties would be more appropriate and statesmanlike. Bunch of flowers even?
Now would be a very good time for the Labour grandees to gently suggest that Gordon Brown retires and takes up a world role in some obscure cultural/economic society; his existing No.10 discredited crew, all in various ways cohorts of the departed McBride, are disbanded (possibly sent to the Environment Agency or other moribund all spin no action outfit) and that politics returns to a less overt spy v spy game board (As Mrs Miriam Obote once said to me at the former State House, Entebbe, Uganda many moons ago : “Politics Mr Bray is a very dirty game, avoid it at all costs”.
Milton Obote was deposed as Uganda President by Amin shortly afterwards.
Enough is too much , Julian, and spoil my stream of modest earnings, not to mention the plush lifestyle which is my deserved du from the great unwashed taxpayers.
Anyway, Prime Mentalist is gratified to be included with Idi Amin in the Pantheon of Greatest Scottish leaders . Your gelded sporran is on the way.

That Draper boy just does not know when to shut up, does he?
He claims that trouble seems to follow him around. Could that be because he is a lying gobsite with about 1% of the intelligence that he thinks he has?
1%?
Surely you have this wrong?
I wouldn’t say it was as much as that.

Hail the Alchemist Fawkes. MSM beware:
‘Lend me that weapon that did kill my son,
And it shall murder me’
This coziness between the MSM and the BBC with Liebour goes back as far as 1974 when they all kept quiet about the Yes Yes referendum vote for the EEC that Wilson dumped on us,they said zero about why it was going to be yes yes vote and gave no information or help to let you decide, even the Conservatives kept their mouths shut, both the politicians and the MSM can rot in hell for the sh*te they produce, the saying what goes around comes around has now started and will shaft them all,I do hope it’s before I pop my clogs
I have yet to find anyone that voted yes on this.
Politicians are always in favour of anything that gives them more control. Our political scum might complain about the EU but in reality they love it as it gives them the chance to pass MORE and MORE legislation but they can point the finger at the twats in Europe and say “it’s all their fault, not ours”
Spot ON.
They should hang their heads in shame.R
This piece, recently posted in several places by a credible figure with decent sources, also seems to have long been ignored by the lobby toadies. It’s not just the poisonous Brown cabal, it is the entire political establishment that is rotten to its filthy core.
“A few years ago a senior Labour cabinet minister was accused by a junior civil servant of sexual harassment. It was not the first time that this minister was accused of this offence. However, the woman concerned accepted the promotion she was offered and the minister was allowed to keep his job. The Conservative Party of course found out about this story but did not leak it to the press. This might seem quite surprising as a cabinet minister using his position of power to sexually harass a young woman is despicable and is a good enough reason to bring the man down.
The reason for this is that both of our two main political parties have a long list of illegal and immoral activities committed by their rivals. If for example, the Tories used this story about this minister, Labour would have leaked the story about the sexual behaviour of William Hague. This is even worse than the story about the sexual harassment of a clerical worker.
More importantly, the two main parties keep out of the press stories concerning political corruption. In this way they can appear on television and argue that we have the cleanest political system in the world. In fact, we have one of the most corrupt democracies in existence. One of the problems is that with our first past the post system is that it allows us to be ruled as a two-party state. Labour and Conservative leaders are willing to join in this conspiracy of corruption in order to maintain the status quo.
The Labour minister involved in the sexual harassment case was eventually dismissed by Blair for incompetence. Yet, every time there is talk of a leadership challenge he appears on television suggesting he might be a good future leader. I am not sure he will get the woman’s vote if his secret was revealed.”
If any of the Billy Fizz stuff above is largely true, (only fair to point out the obvious caveat) it means that the political class and our fearless commentariat allowed the leaders of two of the main parties to face the British electorate at a recent General Election without revealing significantly damaging and relevant aspects of their private lives. In the case of Kennedy’s alcoholism, the problem would have strongly impacted on his ability to perform any meaningful role, however unlikely such a prospect might have been.
Blair and Brown, of course, are widely believed to be harbouring their own dark secrets, the nature of which may not be quite so relevant to most of the electorate. Being scrupulously fair about this, there would arguably be little public interest justification in revealing such information, even if true. The shining quality of absolute truthfulness has, after all, never been a strict requirement demanded of any of our dear leaders.
This is very much part of the shabby pattern in British politics. As is now well known, many post War PMs – Churchill, Eden, Wilson, Heath for starters – had a variety of ailments and private problems that strongly impacted on their ability to function in office. In none of these cases (and in many more involving the unpleasant peccadilloes of senior political figures) did our free press think it proper to enlighten the electorate about the physical and personal deficiencies of those who were seeking high office. Even worse, political colleagues clearly colluded to suppress knowledge of the failings of their leaders.
And this is what is whimsically called a democracy.
True…I bought a car off one of most senior NHS bosses, who told me quite freely about the real reason for Alan Milburn’s sudden departure from health.
Funny how that story never got out.
Come on then, Mr Kerrigan, spoil us!
Didn’t he slap his missus about too? Wish I could but…
Excellent post Guido. It is good to see that you are like all good Irishmen and Women exposing the lobby and the dead tree press for what they are. Keep up the good work and as they say in Mayo may your God go with you.
I WANT ENGLAND BACK
Cheers.
What I don’t understand is why the media gives in. A politician who is deprived of any publicity simply ceases to exist. If a politician wishes to deprive himself of publicity because he does not like the way he is being reported; so what.
We do not want a media that is peopled by spineless, gutless, cowards.
As far as politics is concerned, we need a media that is fit for purpose and ensures competence, high standards and decent behaviour.
I do not care what politicians did at University, I do not care what their sexual preferences are, and I do not care when or with whom they chose to have sex.
I do care if politicians are corrupt, incompetent, or indulge in criminal behaviour, and I expect them to be held to account for it.
There is ever only one answer to the blackmailer; expose them for what they are immediately.
I expect to see a reformed press after this, but one which is as capable of acknowledging competence and decency as it is of exposing crime and corruption.
There should be no more reading out of statements – if they can’t face the music by interview then they shouldn’t get a look-in. Reading out statements is the easy way out. No politician available? Then no statement.
Very simple. And shame on you Paxo for suggesting that the empty-chair ploy is “bollocks”. I expected better of you.
Bollocks is what Paxo spouts 99.9% of the time.
And while they are at it, let’s have no more ‘future news’ – the reading out of things that are going to happen that come striaght off a government briefing sheet. Utterly ludicrous.
You’re, of course, right. And you can expect.
But I really wouldn’t hold your breathe. Really.
Maybe it’s time to give Gordon a break. I favour the neck area myself.
you chose well and sympathetically.
Truly, 2009 marks the year when the political blog came of age in the UK; and you Guido are the man most responsible.
The tipping point’s been reached so much so that I might even have to start a blog myself!…
Seriously, you’ve claimed another scalp and your point is well made: the Orwell Prize’s exclusion of your blog is staggering. More power to your elbow.
Much as I admire Guidos good work in getting rid of McBride (and his other coups) I finally have to respond to all this crap about the Orwell Prize. Any halfwit who goes to the prize website (as I have done) to find out why he was excluded will quickly realise the prize is not for success as a blog (however that is defined) but an art prize based on writing quality. Personally I prefer Guido to the artsy-fartsy brigade, but that does not make him a candidate for best writing of a blog.
Speaking as a halfwit, I’d have to say that yes, I have visited the website; moreover I have examined the longlist at some erm… length.
Blogging is an evolving medium and it was entirely within the remit of the judges to decide which blogs would qualify; and furthermore how the new blog prize would differ from the other two existing ones; by which I mean this whole thing about writing quality seems a little too much like an excuse for more of the same.
If you’re still in doubt, allow me to quote a longlisted blogpost from Tom Harris’ blog which did qualify.
http://www.theorwellprize.co.uk/the-award/long-books.aspx?year=1386&type=blog
Thankfully the searing majesty of its writing quality is so pithy that it can be quoted in its entirety (sorry Tom).

OKAY, I admit that was a bit of a shock to the system. GB called five minutes ago and the bottom line is… hello again, back bench!
More later, once I’ve had a chance to ruminate.
UPDATE at 9.40 pm: Carolyn reckons she’s worked out the reasoning behind my sacking. She’s just drawn my attention to a strapline on BBC News that says: “Brown: We need serious people for serious times.”
D’oh!’
Now tell me again how the longlisting / shortlisting process is based on an objective analysis of writing quality; and that Guido’s exclusion isn’t more likely than not due to a journalistic establishment with their noses out of joint.
Watch Glenn Beck on Fox News at 10.00pm to see what we are missing.
He has not fallen for Obamamania.
Beck’s programme is just about the most cringeworthy thing on TV after Pesto. The reason he’s not “fallen for Obamamania” is because he’s far too busy with Beckmania
And least your’re not forced to fund Becks wages, unless the turd sniffing twats at the BBC.

Even their self-appointed regulator says so…..
http://www.hurryupharry.org/2009/04/15/jeremy-bowen-found-guilty-of-inaccuracy-and-impartiality/
No so.
Hurryupharry is unashamedly pro-Israel in everything, and never reports anything critical of them.
Read for example the Daily Mail’s report (and they’re not exactly pro-BBC) at http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1170239/BBC-rebukes-Middle-East-correspondent-Jeremy-Bowen-anti-Israel-comments.html
Bowen’s references to ‘Zionism’s innate instinct to push out the frontier’; Israel’s ‘defiance of everyone’s interpretation of international law except its own’; and Israeli generals’ sense they were dealing with ‘unfinished business’ left over from the 1948 war of independence seem fairly accurate to me.
Bowen is a disgusting tapeworm – the tapeworm’s tapeworm. Him, Orla G, B.Plett and the rest of the cowardly hand wringing fuckers.
You should take your ‘evil Zionist’ narrative over to CiF where it will be most appreciated.
Your right – Bowen is impartially 100% anti-Israel.
Read the judgment
Bowen was found guilty of inaccuracy and partiality

Yes, Bowen is right, but the BBC is in the pockets if this government so anyone who dares to show the horrors of Israel’s occupation is automatically biased. Another example of the editorial team being forced into the government line – not Bowen’s reporting.
Ahh Paxo! looked positively terrified when Guido suggested empty chair tactics! ”Me, the great Paxo of Paxmania, parroting governmentalist press releases… NEVER!! Confound your burning eyes Guido Fawkes!”
Paxo is just another wet liberal beeboid. Guido was spot on that Paxo was not there to put the Governments spin for them. If they don’t want to turn up just put a cardboard cut out there.
Exactly. Paxman’s response showed that Guido had hit the mark. It is ludicrous that the British Brainwashing Corporation reads out government press releases and tractor statistics on demand.
Andy Burnham hijacking the Hillsborough memorial service at the moment, and getting rightly booed.
Hoon.
Bit new to this blogging malarky, so please forgive the ignorance. I think I have a fairly good idea given the wanker status of it’s namesake, but what exactly is a ‘hoon’? I
C…nt
Rearrange the letters cnut.
Hoon = cnut. Cnut = Hoon.
It is the non-sexist, dare I say, in two senses, politically correct version of calling someone a tnuc; also was pointed out on here that some people quite like tnucs and hoons are definitely not likeable in any way. As you can see by the care/respect demonstrated by GF readers over this subject the cries out there that we are all misogynists (etc) are clearly unfounded.
Oh I suppose there are some gay-bashers on here occasionally but generally they only gay-bash hypocritical ZNL lying troughing hoon gays and not anyone else ie other gays are fine.
Likewise the “racist slurs” tend to be directed at those “non-Brits” (shall we say) who are also either hypocritical ZNL lying troughing Hoons or indeed self professed ranting homophobic Islamisist murderers and happy to be known as such.
Otherwise “colour” is a bit of a non issue online I suggest despite what the Testicular One might say.
Thank you folks. I get it now and shall apply the term appropriately (some might say ‘liberally’, but that’s just because there’s such a fucking lot of them)
I read this earlier:
http://the-redrag.co.uk/the-word-hoon-as-a-term-of-abuse-what-does-hoon-mean/
Culture Sec boo’d at Annfield. When mentioned Gorgon’s name they broke out into song to drown him out.
Well if he had a proper job rather than swanning about the country on junkets and freebies just wanking all day at the taxpayers expense …err.. taxi? Pour moi?
Just proves that we are lied to; by the mainstream media and by Government and politicians generally. If this doesn’t act as a big wake up call for the media to do some proper journalism, then they are as stupid as we think they are.
Gunpowder bullseye Guido.
How diabolical can it get when a government is BOOED at a memorial for a national tragedy.
How bad can a government get receive a public reaction such as this on such a sad occasion.
This government and this Prime Minister should hang their heads in shame.
Should have sent Boris up there – he would have got a better reception than McMental
Will this be seen as the Ceausescu moment of the Brown regime?
Not really, more like Bliar’s W.I. moment, when he got heckled and slow handclapped.
I salute you, Guido. A grand piece. Thanks, JD.
Guido – you’re one of our heroes!
We’re with you – tooth and claw.
Let the war begin in earnest between the Battlestar Blogs and the Cylon monocular-collectivist-drone media, led from the front by the flagship – Battlestar Fawkes!
SO SAY WE ALL!
amen
Fuck off Labour
Sky reporting that Andy Burnham heckled my a minority at Hillsbororugh whilst reading out a message from El-Gordo.
Had to ge tthe minority bit in – currying favour?
1. burnham is an everton fan.
2. burnham is a reprehensible shit in a reprehensible government.
Excellent, a pair of hoons getting the bird.

Seems even the core Labour vote is up in arms over “Gordon Brown conveying”
Bollocks to the comments on that blog. Hoons.
Did they sing ‘goodbye you little prick’?
I like GBP
These bastards don’t ever think that only a minority will shout out what the majority is feeling.
SKY SPINNERS!
So Mr Integrity, aka Guido, care to tell us how you came to be in possession of the emails?
Who gives a fuck, you tool?
The point is the emails existed.
And I suppose you think that Iain Dale’s FoI request as to their existence and content would have been answered honestly?
DC = Devious Cnut
Try reading through the blog mate….
I think Alice Miles deserves some sort of award for this article.
Perhaps Andrew Marr could give her one ?
Lol very good dear chap :-) , but I suspect Andrew will not be best pleased with his wife jumping ship like that. I wonder if he gets asked to pull her into check.
I think he’s still married to Jackie Ashley (Grauniad), daughter of Jack and that Alice is the mother of his child.
lol! A classic line – well done!
That went straight on my blog – ty!
Holy shit GV there’s an injuction on that:)
;) you must mean the bit about her being old Jack Ashley’s daughter.
@ Anon You mean the bit about her being old Jack Ashley’s daughter ;-)
“The new thriller, State of Play, in which Crowe stars, is so mesmeric that it may, in the optimist’s dream, do for the print media what Florence Nightingale did for nursing.
Such an image makeover would, however, be a slog. Give or take estate agents and bankers, few trades are held in lower esteem.”

What about politicians!
Haven’t seen the Hillsborough thing, but noticed that Gordon is stood next to Alex Salmond at another memorial service north of the border…
Interesting times..
Not only that, he’s dining him in Fife tonight! Smell the rat that develops then?
Ah (C)
BBC not reporting the heckling incident at all.
Nothing happened.
Move along.
Nothing to see.
Perfect proof of their bias.
BBC=Labourbent.
It was pretty loud too and commented on by presenter.
Still it’ll take a while for them to twig that things they are a changin’
No wonder Liverpool booed Burnham.
The occasion of the Hillsborough isn’t the place to make political point scoring but Brown’s non-attendance makes it extremely fcuking difficult not to.
I doubt any previous British Prime Minister would have deliberately not attended there to show their respect.
Brilliant Guido
just keep watching your back, none of these can be trusted.
On another note/
did you know that if you pay for a mail redirection that the Royal Mail not only informs the DWP but they also will intefere with your mail if the government or govt department or local council say so by not redirecting mail on their behalf. For example, if a local council sends you mail with a ‘do not redirect’ note on it the Roayal Mail will not redirect mail- consequence is that you don’t know you’ve had mail. If your Aunty Jean does the same, the Royal Mail will redirect it anyway. This is because the Royal Mail is a ‘government department’ and always does as it’s told! Fuck your rights as a human being.
From one madman to another. Gordon is (allegedly) a racist.
http://londonersdiary.standard.co.uk/2009/04/gordon-brown-is-a-racist-says-fidel-castro-.html
Castro is only jealous of Brown for having even more liars on the payroll than he does.
He’s certainly an onanist. A damp and ammonaic one at that.
he certainls dumps on the english so have to agree.
I suppose that’s the free internet for families idea screwed, then. Supreme irony; Snot to empower a generation, making them less amenable to being spun.
Donal Blaney- see what JOHN REDWOOD, GERALD HOWARTH and the DEPUTY MAYOR OF LONDON think about the nasty vindictive blogger!! New revelations about YBF and comments urging the death of US SENATOR Ted Kennedy!!!
http://ddtaylor88.wordpress.com
For fuck’s sake Verity shut up and piss off. The link is to a crap and very boring piece of turgid prose.
They didn’t need to impeach Nixon, they should have just let Teddy Kennedy drive him home.
Democracy dies while Gordon fiddles with his flies.
If the people of Liverpool don’t like this government who does?
A few facts about would be Emperor Muck Brewn. He was apparently born in Govan, Glasgow. Now we know from his un-apology letter he can’t spell so evidently he thought he was born TO Govern. Simples phsk.
As we know, Born to Govern.com with the help of a few other Muck Plonkers did eventually arrived in Clowning St having chased out the Peoples Liar, That’s a type of grinning rat, very good at making a world wide stinking mess and then disappearing to Yankyeasymoneyland. Muck Brewn then thought could then relax and enjoy shafting us dozy indigenous natives. Particularly those who live a bit south of Haggishire, Upyourkiltland.
And shaft us he did; Muck Brewn sold our gold, mugged our pensions, gave 125% mortgages to no hopers, encouraged the Muck Commies to fuck up the education system, looked the other way when our old folks and children were festering in Mucky Brewn hospitals and then brought in a few million outsiders to strain the benefit system. Then to cap it all he gave the daft Old Lady of Threadneedle St the authority to fuck up the economy by allowing dozy second hand car salesmen to screw the banks. So we are now broke, busted, out of work and generally speaking deeply, deeply in the Mucky, Mucky Muck Brown Mucky stuff.
O course he had to stop the excitable dead tree wafflers and lovey dovey media types getting too uppity so he unemployed a few otherwise unemployable thugs and piss artists to help him bully them into submission. This he thought it was A PROPER JOB DONE.
Then along comes Guido and it’s all unraveling like granny’s cardigan.
You must be Public Enemy 1 to 1000 by now.
I just pray that we will soon see him on the bonfire and not you Mr. Falkes.
It just needs a few more rats jumping ship and coughing up the muck and Muck Brewn like Napoleon can be banished off to some little island near Iceland where he will get the welcome he deserves.
it may be dead trees to you but its better than izal to me.
The most unsatisfactory product ever devised.
How are they still in business???
Oh God, you must be older than me.
How’s Gilbert Harding these days?
Izal’s good, spread it about!
You sound aggrieved, lilolme!
Until you lot of morris dancers get a life AND some backbone, then we shall continue to govern you until the cows come home!
You lot think a revolution os 360 degrees!!
hahahahahahah!
Sorry for this but it just became relevant once again. What goes around comes around..
Come gather round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You’ll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you
Is worth savin’
Then you better start swimmin’
Or you’ll sink like a stone
For the times they are a’changin’
Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won’t come again
And don’t speak too soon
For the wheel’s still in spin
And there’s no tellin’ who
That it’s namin’
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a’changin’
Come senators, congressmen
please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway
Don’t block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There’s a battle outside
And it is ragin’
It’ll soon shake your windows
And rattle your wall
For the times they are a’changin’
Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don’t criticize
What you can’t understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road
Is rapidly agin’
Please get out of the new one
If you can’t lend your hand
For the times they are a’changin’
The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is
Rapidly fadin’
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a’changin’

It’s because no one has been held to account for the incident. AND NO OTHER REASON.

So I take it we won’t be seeing that email the proved there was a downing street conspiracy against you then? How surprising: Guido gets his first ever scoop and ruins it by lying for a change.
‘Yawn’
I suppose you’re all happy now? You’ve ruined the career of a family man and public servant (McBride), and are baying for the blood of another (Draper).
Are you really such insecure and bitter little people that you take such perverse pleasure in the sad downfall of men who’ve given their lives to create a better Britain?
You make me sick. Draper was right when he called this blog the “sewer” and its commenters as “sewage”.
To paraphrase Mandy, yes, we’re “intensely happy” at their downfall.
Good to see you back, Haman. We’ve missed having such a laugh at you prattles.
Where is Mandy? Still strangely quiet.
> sad downfall of men who’ve given their lives to create a better Britain?
NURSE!!!
Please stop…may sides may split.
Go ask Alice Miles (and all the other craven journalists and Labour MP’s) if McBride lives to create a better Britain. Pure comedy!
Welcome back HP!
In response to your line…
‘take such perverse pleasure in the sad downfall of men who’ve given their lives to create a better Britain?’
one name…DAVID KELLY
Now fuck off.
” Given their lives to create a better Britain”
What are these men on active service in Helmand province ? No thought not , fuck off wanker.
hahhhahahahahahahahahahaha
Eaten all your Easter eggs then sonny?
^^^ If any evidence of delusion in the Labour Party is needed, this is it.^^^
Don’t forget Tom Watson- I’m sure we are all hoping he’s going to have a ’sad downfall’ too – hopefully after he’s paid back all the money that he’s leaching from the public purse, namely ours.
Typical wimmin talk. My purse is firmly zipped .
Thank goodness Ed Ball’s houseSkeeper Yvette is not infected by such nonsense as refunding the public purse for their lawful expense claims. She knows her place.
I am the leader of the gang, I am.
Lol.
Draper is a contemptible liar and self-promoting charlatan. If you are unable to see that you must be retarded, morally or intellectually.
Why not both?
Are you looking forward to your party being obliterated at the GE?
Yes. This government does make me insecure and bitter. None of these odious people has “given their lives” for anything.
Unlike spin victim David Kelly and a few other people the government would rather not mention:
http://www.casualty-monitor.org/
When will you stop going on about David Kelly? It was 6 years ago and it’s getting boring now. Haven’t you heard of the Hutton Report?
Of course Dr. Kelly’s death was unfortunate, but we all know that some regarded him as a bit of a Walter Mitty character and capable of slightly eccentric behaviour. At the time of his death he had been behaving rather oddly – who knows what personal factors led to his suicide? Anyway, the Hutton Report completely cleared the Government of any wrongdoing.
Stop pretending the Government is “out to get you”. You just sound even more paranoid and delusional than you really are.
If David Kelly committed suicide it will be so that his wife could get his pension before this evil fucking government took it off him on some trumped up charge.
Unlike McBride who is likely still employed in some capacity under the radar which allows Brown and his cabal of liars to give the soundbite ‘No longer working as such-and-such and has not received a pay-off’. Thus creating the impression he’s been fired without compensation whereas in fact he’s likely on some slush-funded job paying even more than he was getting for being a tax-payer sponsored Labour enforcer.
Either way we can be sure McBride’s pension is secure.
Oh yeah. The Hutton report.
‘Is it plausible that with this information I might have concluded the UK was under threat of attack and therefore my decision to go to war in Iraq was justified’
No mention of who wrote the fucking information. It was a self-referential justification.
If I write myself a ‘report’ suggesting Ireland is about to nuke us and then launch an attack based on my completely manufactured ‘report’ it does not absolve me from my crimes if I then get some compliant judge to okay my decision based on the ‘report’.
No, really, it doesn’t.
jgm2
right on the money. Some bright spark in government decided to ring Kelly up and ‘remind’ him that if he was found guilty he’d lose his job and pension. The only for Kelly to make provision for his family was to ‘die in service’.
Personally, I think Campbell was the driver behind that call.
If the Government had nowt to do with it then David Kelly must still be alive.
Nice holiday in Lanzarote Derek? Welcome back.
Mandy will welcome you back with open arms.
Hutton report = total whitewash
bloody hell! I thought Dolly’s rambling in today’s Grauniad were delusional, but this is even funnier. Please keep posting, HP.
To be fair I think the Hutton report is relatively rigerous and scathing compared with any reports likely to be prepared by Sir John Lyon. Not that that is saying much mind you.
H-P!
We’ve all missed you this Easter. What’s it like in the bunker today?
You are having a laugh Harman Pride. A disgusting little bully has had his knuckles rapped. “Given their lives to create a better Britain”……..what an obscene joke!!!
“sad downfall of men who’ve given their lives to create a better Britain”
Given their lives? Now if it had come to that, I might agree that this had all gone a bit too far.
But perhaps you’re getting McBride and Draper confused with the troops who got sent to Iraq in pursuit of this government’s phoney war. Some of them actually did give their lives. For that, if no other reason, anyone involved in this government thoroughly deserves to have their career ruined at the very least.
Well said H_P! Personally I too think that we should still be paying a six figure salary to someone who represents the values of our great party through bullying and deceipt. I fully endorse your support for McBride and Draper and I think there are simply not enough sick lies being circulated about peoples’ families and especially their disabled kids, as long as they are tory of course. Keep up the crusade!
“I suppose you’re all happy now? You’ve ruined the career of a family man and public servant (McBride), and are baying for the blood of another (Draper).”
Harold Shipman was also a public servant and a family man.
Are you really such insecure and bitter little people that you take such perverse pleasure in the sad downfall of men who’ve given their lives to create a better Britain?
“[M]en who have given their lives”? Gosh, has McBride died?
Ha ha Harman Pride is being ironic….surely?? The only person who has ever hurt Draper’s career is Draper, and he’s so practised at it now he can do it in his sleep. Needs no assistance…Given his life for a better Britain?? The guy is the most self obsessed, arrogant shitbag ever and doesn’t give a monkey’s nuts about anyone but himself and his self promotion. Just like 90% of the tossers in and around the Parliamentary Labour Party.
Out of all the dramatis personae in this sad little tale, I think the ones who were gunning for the downfall of others were probably the ones who were poised to publish foul lies about them, and their families.
Like said he’s IS being ironic though, right?
Harman. Your posts indicate you are suffering from a psychiatric disorder called ‘Munchausen syndrome’. This is a condition in which those affected feign sickness in order to draw sympathy or attention to themselves. You need psychotherapy (physician – heal thyself?)
So Harman_Pride Dr Kelly had it coming to him. Behaving strangely.
Hutton report cleared Blair etc.
You are McBride’s bride indeed.
“You’ve ruined the career of a family man and public servant (McBride)”
Er, wasn’t it McNozzle who implied that David Cameron – himself a family man – had an STD which was in some way responsible for the birth of his severely disabled son? A boy who, incidentally, died a few weeks ago – aged just 6 years?
If ever proof were needed that HP is just a wind up merchant out for a laugh this is it. But all credit for keeping it just about credible for several weeks. McBride as a family man. ROFLMAO.
Watching newbies react to H_P is just the same as your friends asking for the rules of Mornington Cresent!
Public servant? Hardly, McBroon’s personal hatchet man but granted paid from the public purse. And of course, let’s bring in the McBride cheeeldren.
“What do you do for a living, Daddy?”
“I ruin their lives by spreading poisonous smears about them”
How very NewLabia.
Fuck off you @rsewipe.
A better Britain – look at the debt, look at the liabilities. This is a giant ponzi scheme you idiot. Its’ criminal what New Labour has done.
“men who’ve given their lives to create a better Britain”
One of the funniest things I have read in ages!
Absolute quality!
If I say “better Britain, where?” can you give us one of those long rambling tractor stat type lists that you cut’n'paste on here from time to time please? Go on, you know you want to…
Ha Ha Ha ha Ha , cant see into own backyard Ha ha ha ha ha
unbelievable !
Pleased as punch you ZaNu hag. Some of your rotten scum is down in the gutter. You are next.
“I suppose you’re all happy now? You’ve ruined the career of a family man and public servant (McBride), and are baying for the blood of another (Draper).”
Yeah, good, innit? Hoon!
No.. this AI unit is still not running quite right..something in it’s sincerity matrix just doesn’t ring true…..well I know he is not going to be best pleased..yes, yes I can get hold of a few more Nokia’s, but not until Monday, so you will have to do the duck-tap trick again..right, right I will get on with HP now ..ok..click
Are you really such insecure and bitter little people that you take such perverse pleasure in the sad downfall of men who’ve given their lives to create a better Britain?
Yes. Thanks for asking. Not that McBride was intent on ruining anyone’s career of course, and we all accept Britain is such much better after a decade of loopy socialism. Now bugger off and get the dinner on there’s a good girl.
Right on the nail regarding the Newsnight, Guido! PAXMAN was pathetic and dishonest in that interview – I’ve lost respect for him over that. Journalists don’t read a statement of why the government’s not turned up at all. They read a statement which is spin and goes unchallenged because the debate’s been called off by a no show of one side. If the government won’t put up – and they are serial offenders like no-one else before – then their opponents should be allowed to tear them apart without rebuttal.
God knows, there are enough of the bastards on the public payroll now so no excuses.
My word, Guido, I bet that’s a lot of Christmas card lists you’ve been struck off!
More power to your elbow.
@ Harman Pride
The most imbecilic comment yet and there have been a lot.
Jeremy,
Frankly I couldn’t care less what any Daily Heil readers think of me.
sleepiing on the sofa yet?
Good.
Now fuck off.
I honestly thought HP was a mischievous troll – parodying the ZANU party line as a wind-up – a bit of harmless light entertainment. I could not believe one person could be so stupid. HP please tell me it aint true.
I AM big – it’s the politics that got smaller…
*sob*
You will find he is a man of infinite idiocy. I suspect a Tory plant at work because no amount of spitting in the face of reason and facts could galvanise opinion against this government more than HP’s moonshine.
We are with you, Guido!
Darling is about to pull from his stained conjouror’s hat a dead rabbit – the Budget – and the corporate media will run to it as to an old friend – this, dull, safe template journalism with its pantheon of predictable ‘experts’ and chat show pundits.
To these corporate media hacks, the Budget comes as sweet relief from the stench of the ‘cesspit at No 10.’ No one need fear for his head by inadvertently telling the truth to his readers, no one need drink himself to sleep wondering where his loyalties would lie if only he were a stronger, better man.
Down in the ‘the Hub,’ that cartwheel of Downing Street offices where Brown presides like a black widow at the centre of its web, they hope against hope that the McBride affair can be quietly swept under carpet whilst the media pick over over the Budget.
But answer this, Mr Gordon Brown: if only McBride and Draper were involved as you have crowed from atop your midden, how is that McBride’s emails were addressed to “Gents?” Who is the Third Man, Mr Brown?
Who is the Third Man?
Good work, Guido.
I missed it -Has the Burnham/Brown Booing been captured for YouTube ???
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8000635.stm
The crowd boo and whistle when Burnham says the messsage is from the Prime Minister. Brown is in Scotland.
You’d never know by reading the Liverpool Echo:
http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/hillsborough/hillsborough-news/2009/04/15/no-headline-100252-23393125/
“I suppose you’re all happy now?”
Ecstatically so thank you very much.
Well, we’re getting there…..just a few more scalps of the sewer-rats now infesting our politics and I for one will feel a whole lot happier.
Talking of NuLab beebers that failed to hold Broon and his gang to account, but is that token jock, Krusty Wark still around? Can’t say I have missed her foghorn voice – not that I watch much Pravda TV these days.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-499935/Kirsty-Warks-husband-loses-court-battle-judge-frowns-email-hacking.html
has also had trouble with emails it seems.
What a Hoon.
More on that story later……
From Yahoo News:-
“The (prime minister’s) spokesman also said it had caused a “huge amount of frustration” in Downing Street that the controversy was diverting attention from efforts to deal with the real problems facing the country, such as the economy.”
I bet it was. Laughable.
Frustrated? Brown should take a cold shower and read some Hegel.
I’d have thought Brown would be delighted for any excuse to divert attention from Labour’s atrocious handling of the economy.
Frustrated try rawmeat3
Yea, we don’t want any diversions. Have they found any bombs yet?
No but found some students going to blow up a power station with some bolt cutters.
Hat’s off to Guido for all his efforts. The traditional media is now sweating at the thought of their looming redundancy as more people can get their news and comment free from the “filter” provided by the government’s cronies in the MSM.
Theres always a job on tv for the MSM.
Getting rid of the TV license would shake things up a bit – if only I could trust Cameron to deliver!
After the election we will be on here bitchin about the Tories.
I see Draperlist have opened new premises:
http://tiny.cc/ZnyTW
Michael White has written a very fair-minded piece for the Guardian, in which he puts the McBride scandal into perspective.
McBride was “trying to create a leftwing counterweight to the right’s dominance of the political blogosphere.”
“Political addicts and anoraks love this frenzied world of attack and counter-attack, gossip and exposé, usually keener on malice and outraged opinion than the finer dilemmas of policy-making.
Most sensible citizens ignore it, concentrating on their own online interests (which can be just as vehement). Political bloggers such as Guido Fawkes, instigator of McBride’s doom, tend to be rightwing, free market or libertarian Tories, the kind of people who want to blame governments rather than bankers for the global economic crisis.”
“He shouldn’t have been dabbling in what sounds like squalid stuff, but it helps to understand why people like him do what they do. They do it to protect their boss and undermine opponents whom they think enjoy an unfair advantage in a corrupted media environment.”
Bravo Sir Michael. Now let’s get back to the real issues that concern real people outside the Westminster village. Gordon Brown is getting on with the job and will do so despite the attemptsby the right-wing blogosphere to derail him.
Getting on with what job, exactly?
What a lot of sanctimonious drivel
Aye, getting on with the job of printing money. That worked well for Comrade Bob didn’t it. How long before the Maximum Idiot proclaims we must have a photo of him prominently displayed in every home. To remind us of our gratitude to the father of the nation.
The fucking idiot.
Keep taking the tablets, Harman and ask for more help. Sorry to hear your won’t now be “getting on with the job”.
Harman Pride here again. I’m really a complete hoon. I’ll defend the Labour party whatever they do. Dr Kelly’s death, stinking expense claims. You name it, I’ll back it. The lower the better.
That’ll be in the paper of tax dodgers.
Simple minded, rather than fair minded.
It’s nice and convenient to characterise everyone who doesn’t like New Labour and writes on blogs as right wing, isn’t it? It’s just not true. I would characterise myself as moderately left of centre, and perhaps people like me should be the Labour party’s target market. In fact I used to be a lifelong Labour voter until a few years ago.
But I am still absolutely disgusted with the current government, as a result of all their dishonesty, spin, cheating, lying and all the rest of the thoroughly disreputable stuff they get up to. Plus their policies suck as well. Had a look at the economy lately?
Guido may have different political views to my own. But I still applaud him for telling us about what’s really going on in government. It’s stuff we need to know about.
I won’t be voting Labour next time, that’s for sure. And if you think I’m the only left-of-centre voter who feels that way, you are soooooo wrong.
Had a look at the economy lately?
What economy? You mean we’ve got one? May have in Mitcham but we haven’t got one down here.
Oh, except the public services that is. Thank God for those wonderful people.
Harman_Pride, you are surely satire in its purest form. If not, then I have a question: do you think that real people outside the Westminster village should be concerned about the ongoing implosion of the worst government in this nation’s history? You’ll probably say no, but you are of course wrong, as you will discover at the next GE. The day after that, of course, you’ll be back to flipping burgers.
“Political addicts and anoraks love this frenzied world of attack and counter-attack, gossip and exposé, usually keener on malice and outraged opinion than the finer dilemmas of policy-making.”
Sounds like Gordon alright.
‘Sir’ Michael Shite can go fuck himself.
(That highbrow enough for the tosser?)
So he was recommending attacking wives and a disabled child for high moral reasons? Oh, I see.
Whew, that’s OK then. Thanks for pointing that out. Otherwise, we might have made a terrible mistake and thought he was just a nasty piece of work, or something.
H.P. Westminster can’t be a village. A village only has one idiot.
However H.P., with you on board, maybe Guido’s blog is a village.
Remember everyone, too much HP sauce isn’t good for you.
What cuckoo – apologist land do you live in? The man has ruined the country and you will attack the argument rather than present fact to support your view. Please present a factual analysis that supports the “Gordo is great argument” or go back the the intellectual vacuum you came from.
Stupid man.
Guido isn’t a right wing Tory blogger – he is a librarian! That’s, er, why he has so much time to spend on the interner.
michael White should be done under the trades description act for impersonation of a reporter !!
So weak !!!
I agree real issues like Brown bankrupting the Brittish economy. Real issues like the waste of life in the Iraq WAR waged on the basis of pure spin and deceipt. Yeah real issues and not the tittle tattle of lying sleazy government advisors trying to grab the headlines with anything but the real issues
Is this the start of the end of the Neo Labour Scottish Raj?
I do believe it is, & most welcome a sight it is.
Rejoice.
“Gordon Brown is getting on with the job”
Sauce de cul. He’s in a hole in Fife filling his breeks wi’ keech.
Harman’s right and as I keep telling you, Gordon’s doing what he’s best at, “getting on with the job”.
What a mess!!!
So called “journalists” scared to tell the truth. Nick Robinson among the worst.
Police attacking the innocent.
Thank heaven for blogs like this and telephone cameras.
Politicians and police alike just can’t be trusted to put us, the public, first.
Keep up the good work Guido and publish all the emails – just a bit at a time mind you. Make then squirm!!!
Arrogant, self serving, self promoting, bullying, unprincipled and frankly, ugly, tosspots like Draper, (who fortunately appears to be nothing if not a master at self destruction), have been caught up to their usual tricks with their pants right down. And its blissful to observe…
Speak for yourself, newgirl. I go along wholeheartedly with most of what you say but the prospect of Draper with his pants down is too much.
Apart from his “I love Mandy” tatto.
Kate probably strims his arse to match his beardy bumfluff. He can’t look in the mirror with a face like that. He can’t look in a mirror with a conciense such as his.
Well said, Guido.
Andy Burnham has been booed and jeered by football fans at Anfield after he tried to read out a message from Gordon Brown at the service to comemorate the Hillsborough disaster.
Burnham looked like he was going to shit himself.
Everytime Brown’s name was mentioned the crowd launched into a storm of booing and shouting. They really hate that bastard. I thought Burnham was going to be lynched. He must be well traumatised after that experience.
Well done the scousers!
We should give every Labour politician the same angry reaction everytime the scum show their face in public.
Chowchesqueue?
Its Chaucheacu. Romanian dictator shot after being deposed. Use Google, don’t make it up like McBride did.
I thought Burnham had a W. I. moment.
Sorry. Should be Chauchescu.
A classic.
Fucking great. If even the job-dodging scousers have it in for the Labour crooks then they’re finished. Labour could laugh off the WI (Tory-voting coffin dodgers) but this is their core vote.
Fan-fucking-tastic.
An elegant turn of phrase, jgm2. You have summed up ZANU Labs predicament exactly. My cup is full.
The BBC have now edited the clip and taken out the parts where most of the booing and jeering occurred. What a surprise!
Scousers don’t like blokes who wear mascara.
Obviously not on the same level – but looking at the footage it did remind me of the moment when Coucescu faced the crowd and suddenly realised he was fucked.
No doubt we will see more encounters like this one over the coming months until this bunch of fuckwits are kicked out.
Should of kicked fuck out of him.
Hopefully, unlike Coucescu, BEFORE Christmas!
Yes, it would make a superb Christmas present all round wouldn’t it?
BTW, St George’s Day is just eight days away. I hope everyone in England has their St George’s flag ready to stick in/out of their window on the 23rd? NuLabour hate it, as it smacks so of …..Britishness rather than enthusiasm for the EUSSR
It smacks of ENGLISHNESS not Britishness!
Time for the English to wake up, get off their knees, and take their country back.
The whole clip is on the bbc’s website – look quickly before Mandy gets them to remove it.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8000635.stm
Morons. It’s Ceaucescu.
I see the disgusting smearmongering Tories ordered those workshy welfare benefit scroungers in the world capital of self-pity to boo that hard working and decent minister and family man Mr. Burnham. All those scouser/mick hooligans should be sent to Heysal Stadium to do penance for their crimes.
Actually, it’s “Ceauşescu”.
Shove that in your pipe and fuck it.
guido should give himself a pat on the back for exposing what those tame rabbits and sheep knew all about but point blank refused to actually do anything about. All it would have taken would be to have published what downing street/labour were/are doing. Guido has done what every single journalist in this country should have been doing and quite frankly he deserves a pulitzer never mind a flipping piddling wee award for his blog. Every journo in this country should hang their heads in shame and when they want to know what a real live journo looks like they should pick up a picture of paul staines.
Absolutely. Guido has shown principle and courage: almost absent from the MSM in any issue of substance. Unlike that showers of toadying B’stards. But after careful analysis I have concluded that Mc Mental will not recommend you for a gong.
Guido, get PayPal working ffs so we can at least cover your costs and buy you a pint or two.
I bet Guido’s wife is going “Yes you may be an effing superhero, but you’ve still got to pick your socks up off the bathroom floor you bastard…”
News Night won’t be the same again
Please take down that Kevin Maguire next. He is an arrogant, poisonous tool. He’s a socialist living in a million pound house so there must be something he’s up to that can be exposed.
Why do you think he’s known as Toilets? ;-)
Dunno. Anything to do with cottaging?
I’ve wondered this myself, and the obvious answer is that he’s full of shit, but that seems almost too obvious….help?
Like that ex-chairman of Man Utd, doesn’t he like to peek under bog doors while madam is doing the business?
I am sure that many a politician has been wondering over the last few days whether their disgusting antics over the last decade might just have sparked the start of a revolution in Britain. Perhaps some of them have even been making plans to leave the country, just in case?
Certainly, this week, the lying cheating self serving scumbags in Parliament have all been roasting in hell. They have all without exception gone to bed wondering whether the party was finally over.
But you see, what the Labour Party hasn’t yet understood, what Derek Draper with his idiot smear website, Damien McBride with his secret briefings, the MSM with their complicity, or the Police Force that have protected the guilty haven’t yet understood, is that the revolution has ALREADY started in this country.
This isn’t a revolution with peasants wielding pitchforks storming buildings and killing the occupants. No, this is a 21st century digital revolution, a revolution of the mind.
In this new era, AUTHORITY is no longer about what PALACES you occupy. It is MORAL AUTHORITY that is important. It is the ideas, honesty, integrity and creativity that you can bring to the space you occupy that really matter.
In the digital era it is ONLY the moral argument that counts, nothing else. The buildings, the fancy titles and the fancy costumes are completely irrelevant. It is simply a matter of which side of the moral divide you are on.
Plainly the Government no longer has any MORAL AUTHORITY to govern. The revolution is already won.
So, I say to anyone here that has ever harboured secret ideas about storming Downing Street or Labour HQ and burning the occupants at the stake: forget it. The revolution has begun. Go home and prepare for Government. The government of your own mind.
well said
I think I’m going to be sick.
Can we just burn one or two at the stake though. You know, just a token gesture? :(
Oh, alright then.
What’s wrong with just stringing a few up? Classic British gun-boat diplomacy.
[apologies to Carry On Up The Khyber]
What a pity the opposition in waiting are the pathetic Tories.
Who in the hell are we ‘revolutionaries’ meant to turn to?
Christ!! Oh for an Oliver Cromwell!
Bring back Maggie Thatcher, someone with a bit of Guts
Dear Harriett it does not seem that either you or Michael White have grasped the wider issues surrounding this matter. “he (Mcbride) is trying to create a left wing counterweight to the right’s dominance of the political blogosphere”???!!!!
He (and how many more cronies whom we have not yet begun to identify) set up a webpage , illegally, according to Nominet UK and were going to use it to publish salacious lies about anyone they regarded as an enemy to Gordon Brown. This would have been no more a left wing counterweight than some of the more salacious men’s magazines that they hide on the top shelves of the local newsagents. Apologies to the men on here, and I’m a grandma so I know nothing of that rubbish.
Really Harriett dear, if you do genuinely want to be the next great leader you are going to have to learn to examine issues in a little more depth.
A well written and measured piece, Guido; and did I detect a hint that a concerted effort by some of your commenters to ensure you a nomination for next year’s Orwell Prize wouldn’t go amiss?
Tuscan any blogger who wins a prize should be ignored.
Res ipsa loquitur.
With the exception of Iain Dale and given the general standard of nominees, i.e. BBC and Grauniad gobshites who would want it?
http://www.theorwellprize.co.uk/the-award/short-books/shortlist2009.aspx
FQK – having visited your link, I withdraw my suggestion. The BBC being nominated for anything with the word “Orwell” in the title is akin to Che Guevara being voted Peacenik of the Pear.
Is it a coincidence that Peter Mandleson has been so silent over the past few days?.
I detect his dirty hand up the back of Derek Draper.
eeeewwwww!
Draper would not shit or fart unles told to do so by the dark master
Tis true….Where IS the Malignant Mandy?? Has he been seen at all? Praps he’s too busy celebrating with St Tone…
Do you think Derek KNOWS his old mate used him, stitched him up, then chucked him to the sharks…..
Mandy’s out basking in the sun with a wee arab boy. Don’t you watch the MSM?
Spot on the money as is Alice Miles article in the times.
Now I know why I don’t want to read most of the newspapers and read this blog and one or two others instead.
Brown is clearly a deranged psychopath who lives in total denial of the truth perhaps on another planet. I am constantly amazed that nobody seems to have the 50 calibre rifle capable of removing his head at a mile and the backbone to fire it.
Brown and his cabal of hoodlums are not that far removed from Adolf Hitler and his horrendous bunch of cronies in the late 30’s…
It’s all a bit scary.
I guess the problem is that zanulab will very soon try to ban blogs.
Alice Miles is not spot on.
She does not answer her own question.
Too little, too late.
Has Alice Miles asked her boyfriend, Labour stooge Andrew Marr, what he thinks?
Well compulsory community service is a start
Wonder if he’ll make all these kids wear Brown Shirts?
All Bollocks – from bollocksphere:
” But Balls can’t simultaneously assert that McBride was an isolated maverick and that the problem is the system. When a position doesn’t add up like this people sense it is inauthentic even if they can’t precisely explain why.”

LMAO!
Mr Dale seems to be digging the dirt on the labourlist website
I think I’m just as surprised as him that UNITE doesn’t fund it, so what does that say about Whelan?
Or is it spun? We don’t fund it now?
sad to say all eyes were off the ball including you guido !!!! all you had to do was look at what goes on in scotland !! but hey !! why bother with that shithole of a place, unfortunately you are now the recipients of labours methods and their disastrous political ways. if you want to get ridd of labour at the next election you had better turn your eyes north !!!!! nothing ever gets reported up there, they do what the hell they like and a compliant media in scotland goes along with them.
there are peole now in west central scotland with a shorter lifespan than peole who live in the gazza strip !!!!!!!
many may find this laughable, if it is not the future you want you had better look north
We’ve got Guido, the people in Scotland need to find themselves a Braveheart – or similar. I don’t understand it, I’ve met masses of super Scottish people & I’ve had great holidays up in Jockland, why do they let themselves be manipulated by Labour? I thought SNP was a reasonably good party – have I got that wrong too?
no, it’s simply that the Scottish newspapers make your lot look impartial
The SNP are better than reasonably good – they are a breath of fresh air and are trying their damnedest to shake of the shackles of generations of rotten Labour rule.
Of course their every move is criticised and blocked by a bitter, bitter Labour Party still unaccepting of their defeat by the SNP and devoted Labour press and BBC hacks whose hatred is palpable.
Last month the SNP took control of Dundee council after the long serving Labour Provost said that he couldn’t put up with the bullying ways of Labour any longer.
I think that, slowly but surely, the scales are falling from people’s eyes but, sadly for some folk, Labour is all they have known and it can be a hard habit to break. “Ma granny voted for them etc etc”. As if that mattered.
We can all live in hope and I finally think that this week has been a defining moment.
BTW, the missus is from deepest Englandshire and she thinks that the SNP are great :)
I thought SNP was a reasonably good party – have I got that wrong too?
They are an excellent party, staffed by professionals-the complete opposite of the type of Scot you lot are familiar with down south-we are not (far from it) all inarticulate labour thugs with pea brains . you know!
And with the amount he drinks, Gazza’s life expectancy may not be that hot these days..

Guido Fawkes more popular than Gordon Brown (on the web anyway).
http://www.google.com/trends?q=guido+fawkes%2C+gordon+brown&ctab=0&geo=all&date=mtd&sort=0
Ah, yes, but he is not quite as popular as Susan Boyle.. yet…
http://www.google.com/trends?q=guido+fawkes%2C+susan+boyle&ctab=0&geo=all&date=mtd&sort=0
..and Susan Boyle isn’t as popular as God.
http://www.google.com/trends?q=god%2C+susan+boyle&ctab=0&geo=all&date=mtd&sort=0
Therein lies our problem
See you Guido! Well done. More smashed Nokias this evening. I must get some shares.
Burnham’s face reminded me of Ceaucescu’s on the balcony, the same look of out of touch incomprehension at the hate
He just couldn’t comprehend that he wasn’t adored for being himself. The oily little poo prodder.
I was there. Burnham was booed solidly every time Brown got mentioned.
Afterwards, Burnham had to be sneaked out of Anfield through a back door. Some of the crowd wanted a little word with him, but he was whisked away with several stewards and bodyguards protecting him.
I wonder if he can reach his full seven inches tonight, with all the pressure on him ‘n all.
The question of the press telling the whole story first reared its head a year or to ago, when Charles Kennedy was finally ousted from his leadership of the Liberals because of his drink problem.
Nick Robinson blogged after the event with the opening line that ‘the worst kept secret in Westminster’ was finally out of the bag. The comments section went nuts, with punters demanding to know why Robinson hadn’t revealed the story before and wondering what else he wasn’t telling us.
Still, at least Paxman had the balls to ask Kennedy the about his drinking on Newsnight some months earlier, which ensured that Kennedy was filmed lying to a straight question.
Is it because he eats shit all day.
And talks it.
No that’s me!
During the midnight hours just after the July bombings in London, I heard a female reporter on BBC News 24 trying hint that the bomb on the bus had been exploded close to the headquarters of the British Medical Association because the bomber wanted doctors to come running out and treat the victims. I was horrified at how stupid this woman must think viewers are. It was about 3 in the morning and wish I’d had my video recording. Since then I’ve known the BBC to be complicit in all the sh1t that happens in this country.
Hopefully people like Guido and the internet will save this country but the Conservatives certainly won’t.
No less than I’d expect from the BBC. Let’s hope you are wrong about Cameron!
I remember that well Krimper.
My favourite was when Maxine Mawhinney asked a Mccann family member how Kate and Gerry (so cosy) were reacting to such *lies* about them but the scripted subtitles said *rumours*.
At least I know I wasn’t dreaming now.
Guido, you’ve put your finger on why there is so much anger out there. That much can be seen on your blog any day of the week. The MSM is no longer fit for purpose.
You’d think ifyou were writing a letter of apology to someone, you’d at least spell their name right and use a proper pen and not a felt tip.
The man’s a proper retard
They should have sized the paper to his penmanship, about an A0 by my reckoning. For fucks sake our supposed PM writes like a retard. Hang on…..his a retard.
HE is a retard, doh!
dear Retard
try “he IS a retard”
gorrit ?
We need a Guido Fawkes in Scotland to expose the distortions and ommissions of the Labourcentric media – BBC Scotland (Labour HQ in Scotland), The Scotsman, The Herald, The Daily Record. All spinning every breath a Labour MSP utters. Distorting the truth such that we have to read the English based newspapers to get somewhere near the truth about what is happening to our country.
Or the bloggers
Try this one and be made aware of the brass balls of these bastards

Postalvotes-R-US.com
The votes have been lost and the register too?!
Watch postal voting being pushed as the way forward.
“the Returning Officer was required to verify personal identifiers on postal vote statements “…
Thbere is no way that postal voting can be a ’secret ballot’. Why has it not been legally challenged? The ability of the authorities to see easily how people have voted is the truly sinister part of this – and both new ‘anti-terrorism’ legislation and laws which will be passed with the signing of the EU Constitution will make this possible.
People seem unaware that the EU Constituon – sorry “Lisbon Treaty” – provides for the prosecution of anyone who denigrates the EU, and the banning of political parites which are anti EU. Subscribe to the Open Europe newsfeed.
Sam, you’ve got it in one. Add to that the denigration of the EU ragflag, American-style hand on heart respect for the ‘anthem’, a backdoor death penalty – it just goes on and on… and on ….
Guido-why don’t you stop f@ckin around and go for Browns jugular
…to the right’s dominance of the political blogosphere….
It’s not about right or left is it? It’s about being pissed on and doing the pissing.
Has Gordon delivered the promises made, in exchange for NuLab being saved from bankruptcy?
You’ve missed one important factor, 1/2 eye; he wasn’t writing a letter of apology.
A blind Retard
“This content doesn’t seem to be working. Try again later”
It’s been doing that for about an hour now…..
Lot’s of interested viewers I suppose.
559. That’s the trouble, the rarely show their faces in public. Remember the look on Chowchesqueues [alternative spelling, I'm afraid] face when he was booed? Total bewilderment, quickly followed by a light lead snack. If only.
this also explains why it is the conservative/right wing/libertarian sites that thrive – people of this ilk tend to be free thinkers, small-staters and the like.
Socialism comes from a world view that “nanny knows best” – give us your money and we can decide better than you how it is spent. Consequently left of centre thinkers simply don’t “get it” -
The free echange of ideas enabled by the Internet absolutlely supports a right of center conservative approach – so FF is dead right – stand by for increasing restrictions imposed by governments of all political persuasions.
oh I don’t think there would be much to see…
I think his excuse was his eyesight is poor.
Do they not have computers for the visually impaired in Downing Street then?
Could they not crank up the font on his browser to, say, 160px?
Or could it be that Brown knows sod all about computers and his secretaries won’t do his dirty work?
Apparently he can’t read anything smaller than half an inch so he’d need a keyboard the size of a fucking AGA before he could dazzle us with his genius in print. Another convenient excuse.
The next big lie that the press lobby has been subverting is the lie that Brown has an IQ of 180. He can’t demonstrate it in his oratory, he can’t demonstrate it in his economic management, he can’t demonstrate it with his legislative program, his joined-up thinking, his emotional and psychological empathy and he can’t even read a fucking IQ test nor circle the multi-choice answers.
Brown is like a girl I was at Uni with (back in 1984) who boasted that every time exams came along she complained of a sore back, got herself a doctors note, lay in bed (badly supervised) and got an extra two hours to do every exam. And blow me if she didn’t proclaim she would pull the same stunt and do the same for her finals. Which she did. Last I heard she was working for the NAO. Same with Brown, proclaims himself clever and then uses every trick in the book to use his eyesight to explain his idiocy. When the fact is that he’d be an idiot even if he had Cat’s Eye Cunningham’s vision.
Labour and the country has been suckered by a fucking pathological bully into the belief that he’s a bit clever so he couldn’t possibly fuck up on such a fabulous scale. But the fact is he’s a fucking idiot. A manifest idiot and, apart from Mathew Parris and a few others, nobody is pointing this out. I thought John Major was thick but this fucking Brown must have one of those little metronome devices that swimmers use to help them improve the timing of their stroke only he uses it to remind him to breath. He’s got the IQ of a jellyfish. He may have the memory of an elephant but he’s like Rainman – he has no idea what to do with the information.
Fucking plankton.
Vote Labour
Can I quote you on that when the next Labour Party canvasser comes to my door?
Brown only wrote the letters in manuscript to avoid leaving evidence on No 10’s electronic systems i.e. no emails, no draft documents, total control over the circulation of originals. The guy is either paranoid or has something to hide.
One of today’s papers has analysed Brown’s handwriting. Apparently he is emotionally cold, devious, paranoid, dishonest, and narcissistic.
JGM
Hilarious post and too true.
“he’d need a keyboard the size of a fucking AGA”
“Brown must have one of those little metronome devices that swimmers use to help them improve the timing of their stroke only he uses it to remind him to breath”
Just Priceless!!
Let’s hope Q has redesigned the red button and made it into big box with plunger then.
where can I see it?
Drink you cocoa sonny then piss off up to bed. The grown-ups are playing now.
I never made the case for the blogs selected – only the case for Guido not meeting a reasonable mans view of the criteria. Personally I would have thought that Guido would prefer not to be known as the Tracey Emin of bloggers. Think of all the air kissing courses he would have to be sent on.
‘Given their fucking lives to create a better fucking Britain?’ Ho bloody ho! Fuck off you arse-licking brown-nosing Troll & stop taking those drugs – they’ve made you completely delusional – you are Dolly Drooper & I demand my £5. The only risk any of those c*nts have ever experienced is putting their fucking backs out as they try to lift the moneybags of tax-payers’ money they’ve stolen from us. If you don’t like it here go back to LabourLost. Better still, stay here & boost Guido’s stats like you normally do – sucker!
English Liberation Front – great post – you nailed it! And it seems many others do as well – there is yet hope! I for one am not giving up on the country but boy! – have we got a struggle to get it back…..
Just watched the clip on BBC and to be honest I didn’t see too much booing of Brown. Just the same mawkish standing ovation bullshit they get up to every time Liverpool was mentioned. It was like watching Brown’s speech to Congress.
Tell ‘em how fantastic they are and let them clap like overwound mechanical monkeys.
The “journalists” are too late, and are also still hiding the truth.
It doesn’t just relate to Brown’s reign of terror either, it also relates to Brown destroying the economy.
All the journalists have known ever since he started as chancellor that everything he did was destined to cause total annihilation of the economy in time, but they just kept quiet. (so did the city)
They all knew, and they did/said nothing, preferring to lie instead to the public. In fact they still do nothing, even though the annihilation of the economy is now plain to see by everyone as the seeds which Brown sowed over the years have now come to fruition and our economy is now destroyed.
They are all, without doubt, complete and utter scum, and I hope they burn in hell for what they’ve done.
It’s the elephant in the room for the MSM – totally agree.
The problem most journalists have is that they are liberal arts graduates. Like the Maximum Idiot himself. Numbers therefore are a total mystery to them. Even relatively simple concepts like balancing the budget are too much for them. Which is reflected by a high percentage of the general public. Now, to me balancing a budget is simple. You don’t spend more than you earn.
But because so many voters can’t get this right themselves they have no problem believing that it is an incredibly difficult thing to do. Which it is. If you have an IQ of a jellyfish. Which many voters, journalists and the PM do.
When anybody with a bit of maths background like myself tries to explain the idiocy of the past 12 years you are on a hiding to nothing. The goldfish-attention-spanned generation X-ers just glaze over and get all maudlin about Jade.
You’d think there would be a higher bar to becoming a newspaper journalist but, as we see, they are as stupid and lazy as the average voter. We have the press and the government we deserve.
True I guess; it took them 2 years (from the point of it being Brown’s initial idea, through the year of consultation, and then the extra year leading up to its implementation) to work out that “abolishing” the 10pct tax rate was a lie, and even now they still refer to it as “abolishing” rather than “doubling” the rate.
The media still think/report that 10 plus 10 equals zero, so there’s not much hope for them to understand the logic behind balancing a budget.
I remember the good old days pre-newlabour when the chancellor would say with a flourish “I’ve balanced the budget” and get a round of applause from the media/people (or at least from the small proportion of the media/people who understood basic maths) – now Brown only gets a round of applause from the media if the public debt has massively increased to an even more unsustainable level.
I understand basic maths, and I also studied economics at school, but sadly it seems that most people (especially the “journalists”) have no such basic education in their arsenal to draw from.
The country is being run by a bunch of totally ignorant/stupid MPs, and its being reported by an even more ignorant media to an increasingly stupid public.
Our education on this front is well behind that of 3rd world countries; labour like to keep people in the dark, and teachers are complicit in that.
Brown has two Telegraph business journalists working for him.
He only has to shout jump and Ambrose Evans-Pritchard and Edmund Conway say “how high?”
I wonder what he has on them ;-)
Fuckwitted Sychophants the lot of them. Our troops are putting their lives on the line in a war and over hear all these journalists dont have the courage to write the truth about tyhe control freak in number 10. Absolutely pathetic.
Hear hear.
They are all shits.
BY deregulating the city in the 90’s he has ultimately caused the whole global meltdown. Wonder where the pay off is kept? You’d think Sarah could afford a posh cardy wouldn’t you?
Absolutely, you have put it perfectly.
Future generations will look back on this administration and ask why it wasnt obvious to the public what useless lying incompetents their political masters were, they will quote Mandleson being made a Lord after being disgraced on not one but two previous occassion and say how on earth did no one see what was going on. Well to these future generations I say that many of us did see what was going on, you just need to read this blog to see that. The question I cant answer however is since that was the case what does it take for the rest of the country to wake up to this corrupted Government ?
Drink your cocoa sonny then piss off up to bed. The grown-ups are playing now.
Ok guys help me again. This blog thing. Does our hero (Guido, natch) read em? And does he ever comment on stuff?
My contacts at Smersh suggest that he does indeed come here and post.
By analyzing and examining tiny details in spelling, punctuation and method we deduce by computer program that Mr Fawkes responsible for more than one posting per day.
We will know more once we get him fitted into an orange boiler suit.
Yes, he does. But his main task is research and spearheading the assault.
We have agents everywhere. Your Guinness is bugged.
There are occaisonal comments.
He also drew a graph before he went on daily politics to show it wasnt worth moderating. He made up the line himself though.
You are in the database.
I am the only agent in the Westminster village
I want to be an agent too…S’not fair…I’ll prove my credentials if I have to…
Only too happy to see your credentials my dear..
and I didn’t think it was that sort of a blog….Draper wanted to see em once too, way back when…..he didn’t get very far I hasten to add…

We never had much of an economy in Mitcham even before Gordon fucked it up in the rest of the country.
Haha!
“Due to a current clear out of old useless junk that nobody wants, we have a slightly soiled almost unused desk for sale. Only a couple of months old
On the plus side, we have managed to clean most of the shit off ( it was hit by a fan last weekend. And some Nokia mobile phones) but it does have some bad points:
1. It appears to be cursed. Every time Derek actually sat at it, he just produced utter nonsense. Reams of it. Lies, spin, deceipt and a couple of books so appalling Amazon staff use them as toilet paper
2. Some tooth marks are visible, and some dandruff flakes. Also totally and completely “Stained”"
Winning bidder will need to collect as no one here wants to go anywhere near it.
Does it come with the optional under-desk kneepad accessory – useful for when Tom Watson comes to call?
“Blowjob Pads” £9.99 at B&Q.
Now here is Cyclops, spying on the innocent, devouring the substance of the world with his single eye like a surveillance camera:

“There was spontaneous applause as the minister for culture, media and sport, Andy Burnham, addressed the crowd, saying the 96 fans who died would never be forgotten. Some areas of the crowd chanted “Justice for the 96″”
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/apr/15/hillsborough-anniversary-anfield-service
oh really?
is this true?
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/4/20090415/tuk-liverpool-fans-heckle-burnham-dba1618.html
Nope…. Irony alert!
No doubt it was Burnham mentioning he had been despatched to Anfield by Jonah the reformed apologist that pissed the scousers off. Perhaps he should have just written them a letter instead.
Just like Pravda! Putin would be proud.
But then he’s just bought the Standard through his mate Whatsisnamesky, so he has no worries about bad press here anymore.
That’s just a leetle bit different to the original audio recording I listened to – which no doubt has since been updated ‘to improve the sound quality’. Lying fuckers.
Not being a footie fan; what were they chanting? They all know the words.
BBC have edited the footage from what was shown earlier in the day. Most of the booing now removed.
722
chanting fuck off you twat and take that cyclopic retard with you.
Or something like that
“There was spontaneous applause as the minister for culture, media and sport, Andy Burnham, addressed the crowd, saying the 96 fans who died would never be forgotten. Some areas of the crowd chanted “Justice for the 96″”
That is simply frightening, welcome to the Democratic Peoples Republic of North Korea where the grain harvest has been too large for the warehouses to cope…
Was this actually written? – I bet it was the Guardian- especially given that Michael White had written not an hour hour earlier that all McBride was doing was trying to create a left wing counterweight to the right’s dominance of the political blogosphere ! Please do tell us where it came from. I shan’t be able to get my blood pressure under control until you say.
Guardian is correct – see above at 680

Labour are taking action to give help to families and businesses now and for the future. By contrast, the Conservatives would do nothing.
Labour is acting to support the British economy by:
* Stopping the banking system collapsing, so that businesses and families have a safe and secure system they can rely on.
* Giving real help to families and businesses now so that people have a means by which they can get through this downturn
* Getting lending moving for small businesses, medium and large businesses as well as mortgage holders.
I’m an idiot but I just don’t care.
Gordon Brown

Well he got one thing right!
Isn’t it about time we were told when they plan to start campaigning for an election?
Ruth Kelly? Get some glasses, mate and turn your hearing aid from her adenoids
LOL
Not THAT Ruth Kelly man!
lmao
It was about 2005 I think. Campaigning for an election is just about all they ever do, which I assume you meant Crusher.
What election?
Hear Hear Sir.
You speak the truth of the matter.
Thank you Guido…..
Fuck me! Paxo said you were talking complete bollocks. If I were you, I’d empty chair the fucker.
Or deck him with an empty chair
Yes, funny that Paxo should say that. He’s made a career of talking bollocks and sneering at people. Guido was right; he was wrong – as simple as that!
Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiierrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrsssssssssssssssssss
yeah guido , youve done a good thing , and thank you
draper official not wanted by labour on news , burnham has a ceaucescue moment , they shouldnt have lied to us
It’s almost a pity we’re all far too civilised in the UK, otherwise, with the way this is building, there’d a Chauchescu moment for a few of the present incumbents with a brick wall and some white posts.
Bring it on – they are Hoons.
Guido you smug git. You got this one right. Well done!
Although…
Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day!
wossy lend us a tenner you hoon
I think Mr Zappa’s song lyrics re television are also apt in this case
“I am gross and perverted
Im obsessed n deranged
I have existed for years
But very little had changed
I am the tool of the government
And industry too
For I am destined to rule
And regulate you
I may be vile and pernicious
But you cant look away
I make you think Im delicious
With the stuff that I say
I am the best you can get
Have you guessed me yet?
I am the slime oozin out
From your tv set
You will obey me while I lead you
And eat the garbage that I feed you
Until the day that we dont need you
Dont got for help…no one will heed you
Your mind is totally controlled
It has been stuffed into my mold
And you will do as you are told
Until the rights to you are sold
Thats right, folks..
Dont touch that dial
Well, I am the slime from your video
Oozin along on your livinroom floor
I am the slime from your video
Cant stop the slime, people, lookit me go”
Prescient words indeed. Oh, how you are missed, my son. Hope you are sitting in a cloud of Marlboro smoke laughing into your black coffee. Peace.
It’s the labour way; claim responsibility when anything happens that’s good even though it’s nothing to do with you, and deny responsibility when anything happens that’s bad even when it was entirely your own fault.
Ignorance/negligence is also an acceptable defence in the eyes of labour (but only when the person being ignorant/negligent is a labourite)
Brown: “Hey guys, I’ve spent the last 12 years destroying our whole economy because I’m a useless fuckwit with no idea what I’m doing”
Press/Labour: “cool. nice one. carry on. we’ll back you all the way.”
Fear of unemployment will do this to a person.
Mortgage, feeding the family, putting a child through university. Concentrates the mind. But not always in the right direction.
They are trying to close down blogs because of what exactly?
Swearing or having opinions?
Both of which are not illegal and by the time they could make another Trojon Law up to make it so, Labour would have been kicked into the pit!
So they can fuck right off I reckon because they’re all poxy troublemaking bastards.
Anyroad….
Guido has lanced the abcess of Downing Street, but the false words still ooze out like dead corpuscles blotted up by newsprint, the ichor of a dead eye that sees yet through a million cameras and microphones.
Good stuff Guido. Nearly all politicians and MSM are corrupt. The blogs are a breath of fresh air compared to the usual rubbish spouted on TV and in the press, for one simple reason, they are written by real people.
I’ve got a revolutionary idea. Let’s get some real people in Parliament too.
The trouble is – no real people would want to do it – well the money would be nice- but think of the stain on your soul
Strangely the Guardian’s write up of the ’spontaneuous applause’ at Burnhams speech contradicts its own ‘memorial liveblog’ http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/blog/2009/apr/15/hillsborough-memorial-liveblog which states:-
“3.33pm:
Andy Burnham, the culture secretary, is heckled almost as soon as he starts speaking when he mentions Gordon Brown. The crowd then starts singing “Justice for the 96″.
Burnham is eventually allowed to carry on his speech. He is then booed when he says he is hear to represent the prime minister and the government. But he is applauded when he pays tribute to the victims.”
When Liverpool voters boo at the very mention of the PM, at a memorial for the dead, the game is truly up
Plus how on earth can someone employed as a journalist not know the correct use of here and hear?
Sorry I have a real bee in my bonnet now – Guardian says – Andy Burnham was appluaded. the BBC says ‘as Mr Burnham spoke he was forced to pause whilst the crowd sang ‘Justice for the 96′. and the Daily Telegraph writes that Sir Gus confirms that Damian McBride did breach the Code of Conduct for Special Advisers and is no longer employed as a special adviser. What is he employed as then? Because if he was not employed at all surely they would have said ‘and is no longer employed’-full stop.
OK Guido, I was half convinced about your views over Easter. I’m a convert now.
Yup! The masses now show their feelings to the most hated.
@ Harman_Pride
Did you cry when McBride got the boot, did you sob your poor little heart out, did you feel as if the world was collapsing at the loss of a ‘family man’(fucking nutter), i really hope so because just imagine how Mrs Kelly felt when her husband was hounded to death by your beloved partys attack dogs. I fucking hope you are hurting that your party is self destructing and people are now understanding just what this party stands for….fuck it, i just hope you are hurting. Hoon.
McBride ,who is the “Patsy” now !
Mr Election I am afraid you are engaged in wishful thinking.
H_P is a compilation of standard paragraphs run by a computer program. Not a very bright program mind you.
I go away on my holidys with no access to a computer for a week and all this happens!
Good work Guido, keep at em.
I’ve not read all the comments but a lot of them and this seems to be a toll-free day! Where are the vacuous lilly-livered hoons? Out killing women presumably
mean troll-free sorry
96 dead Scousers?
I suppose its a good start
Breeding over 30 years – almost an hour’s s open-door-to-Britain immigration
Reminds me of an old joke -
What do you call it when the Prime Minister and half the cabinet are blown up by terrorists?
A bloody good start.
Cowboy job, mate.
Haven’t you been reading the blog?
The crowd at Anfield were booing and whistling when Brown was mentioned.
sorry – missed Harman. As in How dare you tell my faith I was being unfaithful! You ruined my life!
The statistics don’t lie…..there are significantly more punters posting these days (Mandelson’s two-cocked spunk test, p<0.001)
I have been a depressed democrat for ages, just wondering how it would be possible to beat those ****ing control freaks who are ruining our lives. In control of the press, tv and other media, especially the Blair/Brown Broadcasting Corporation. ( Perhaps you can tell me if it was compulsory for Prick Robinson to undergo a vaccuous brain transplant when he transferred from ITV news to Browns Broadcasting Company, either that or he was completely neutered!).
I never buy newspapers or listen to the main tv news any more for the same reason as many of you have already said. We know the whole process is completely engineered.
Time to take on all those priveliged MP’s and their corrupt practices, like re-electing the speaker, crossing the floor of the house with no election and above all having a prime minister who has never been elected to the office of prime minister. Laws made by MP’s for the plebs to follow but not the MP’s.
There will be no change till Dracula has had a steak driven right through his heart and the blood bank gets managed by some one else. Guido did excellently but I’m afraid the steak just missed his heart. He’ll be sucking the blood again soon!
Withhold your blood, son. They can’t lock us all up.
A big thanks for this Guido. I am delighted to see this bunch of hoons squirm like the turds that they are. I pray that Labour are sunk for good, along with their vile police state, fines and punishments.
I hate them.
There, that feels better :)
Dapers has been Droped.
Nick Robinson may well just be about to experience his own “Thatcher moment” ie whilst out the country he has been deposed. His credibility has taken one hell of a beating, will he ever recover one wonders.
Please God!
No he won’t, he’s a shit of the lowest order.
Agree with you anonymous. I fear Laura K will get some big stick when Robinson gets back in the office
Fucking teacher’s pet, mate.
What credibility?
Isn’t it about time someone saw fit to arrange an election so I can come out of the attic.
I had wondered Mr McBride, where Gordon had hidden you. I always believed you were still in Downing Street.
With a gaping chasm where McP once was… surely Brown practice what he preaches by taking on an apprentice. An Ali-G type guttersnipe turned good would be perfect.
Adam Sandler could write/star and direct a crappy movie based on said plot.
He doesn’t need an apprentice. Mr Mcbride is still there – you will find him, in the cellar, or the attic or a nearby quango or perhaos helping Charlie Whelan and Andrew at Unite until the furore dies down. But he is till there.
BREAKING NEWS BREAKING NEWS—— BREAKING NEWS BREAKING NEWS
Daily Mail reporting as follows —Possible Postal Vote rigging irregularities
The step-mother of Cherie Blair was today at the centre of a ‘vote rigging’ row as she embarked on her crusade to become an MP. After appearing to suffer defeat to her opponent in an election to select a candidate to represent Calder Valley in the General Election, Stephanie Booth – who is married to Cherie’s actor father Tony – stormed to a landslide win on the strength of postal votes.
On the night of the count she was losing the vote by 35 to 22. However, when postal votes were counted the balance had shifted handing her a decisive 95-52 win. Today supporters of defeated opponent Susan Press called for an investigation into the selection process, claiming Mrs Booth’s team had broken canvassing rules. It has been alleged that Mrs Booth’s supporters helped party members to fill in their postal voting forms, breaking party rules.
The Yorkshire Post also revealed that it was alleged a list of party members was leaked to the Unite union, which used it to send letters to each member seeking backing for Mrs Booth.
Is this the way Labour will steal the General Election?????
Utter bastard fucking hoons – hang them now!
I tried to post a similar comment on the Mail – that people would be turned away at the polling station finding that they had already voted by post.
It didnt get through their “moderation”!
The whole fucking thing stinks.
I’ve now been ripped off shit loads for decades courtesy of snotty &co., they carry on taking the piss and really don’t understand how fucked off I am.
http://tinyurl.com/c5wkjt
Glenrothes revealed
Faux cough
I wonder if anyone, apart from their own hacks, makes it through their ‘moderation’? Call me a cynic if you will.
The Mail is the very worst for censoring dissident posts, and not just on politics. There was a vile, totally idiotic and ill-informed piece by that demented self-obsessed animal rights freak Liz Jones* about the Grand National last year. To my certain knowledge at least 60 people form various racing forums wrote in reply and not a single one of our messages was posted up
(* She;s the one who wrote an enldess Myersonesque column dissing her husband – who was black – and then wondered why he left her)
Fiddling the postal vote was all done above board.
Well, first, don’t be sure there will even be an election. If there’s not, what the fuck are you going to do about it?
Second, if there is a general election called within the next fifteen years. do you seriously believe that postal votes, online votes. anyone not in nappy votes and mass murderer votes will not tip the balance for Our Beloved Leader.
Do you really think that the Chief Hoon is going to give you, a pleb, the chance to vote him out. Don’t be so fucking ridicluous!
Am I dead yet?
Haven’t noticed, dear. Have a come back. We love you.
no, you are on Question Time (for ever, and ever, and ever…)
Yes. You were forever late.
No but I’ve done the draft, Shirl.
The answer to Mr Brown’s problems is for him to announce to the proletariat the number of tractors manufactured and the result of grain harvest and let them rejoice.
Well done Guido, but watch your back.
I wonder how many spooks around the world are currently monitoring this blog around the clock? There will be half a dozen of them in Cheltenham at least. Then there is MI5, various police units, Liebour HQ, Conservative HQ, Liberal ditto, et al. There will be the Americans from any number of agencies, The French, the Germans, the Iranians and God knows who besides. Then there will be the press, the TV News boys and the advertising agencies. Right now you may well be the most widely read writer on the planet.
Again, well done, but they will be out to get you. To a man, the politicos of all persuasions, in all countries, are terrified of insurrection coming from a direction that they can’t handle. Be warned, they will play rough.
In the meantime, may your tribe increase.
Who is Guido Pox, sorry Fawkes, how did HE get a hold of confidential emails? Look deeper, this isn’t a coincidence, someone is pulling all your chains and you are all like sycophantic little dogs – woof, woof!
Are you saying there is someone more powerfull than The Prime minister ?
How are you pronouncing your name tonight?
What seems to be stranger is the fact that no one from the government has called in the Police.
How does that chilling statement go ….
If you’ve done nothing wrong you’ve got nothing to hide.
Ha Ha Ha, woof!!!!
Oh someone is pulling all our chains all right….has been for years, we’ve just, unlike you, stopped walking to heel
The Labour Party is poorly placed to lecture others on the subject of sycophancy – Hazel Blears yesterday, then Ed Millband, do I need to go on?
Probably Derek Draper wasn’t getting the affection and praise he so desperately craved, working all hours God sends on a poxy proxy website, unpaid, unloved, misunderstood……..he could have been a Cabinet Minister you know, had it not been for his breakdown……I mean there’s only so much you can give……..the feeling of entrapment in an ideology to which he has devoted so much of his energy, yet yielded so little…..self-destructive maybe, but a new beginning, and one day, YES ONE DAY THEY WILL SAY
THANK GODDDD FOR DOLLY DRAPER, THE MAN WHO SAVED THE COUNTRY BY LEAKING THOSE CONFIDENTIAL EMAILS
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
so he swapped them with Guido for two pints of lager and a packet of crisps
Hello World.
The leader of your UK is The Queen – you could never leade your nation – how are you tonight old scone?
Anonymous, every one is now more powerful the prim Minister! Don’t you understand what Guido has done?
Gorbals Mick is on the side of the Prime Minister.
Oh, in that case GG, hello spooks and all you others. **Figgley waves his cock at the screen**
Harman_Pride’s already done that – does not seem to have worked
Liebours new campaign slogan showing that lessons have been learned has been revealed as
” Too many crooks spoil the broth”
Yes very apt!
too many cooks make shit telly.
Too many Scots are ruining my life, mate.
Now what kind of business or organisation would employ a lying bullying toerag like McBride ?
LEHMAN BROTHERS, RBS, HBOS, BARCLAYS…need I go on?
The Conservative Party, The Lib Dems, The SNP, UKIP, New Labour…need I go on?
New Labour DID employ him you fucking idiot
Unite,Downing Street,the West Midlands Labour Party,Labourlist?
No need to go on. All your comments are a lot of toffee nosed marxoid drivel.
The Church, son?
I’d like to just put in a good word for Ms Miles, even if it is a bit late in the day for a change of attitude, not least because she has taken a bit of stick on this blog in the past?
It was Andy Marr giving her stick!
He’s got love handles attached to his head.
Just how P.Fondlebottom likes it.
Stand by for the banks joining the fray
Last Autumn, the Government seemed quite relaxed about the financial system going into meltdown
Until Hank Paulson suggested that if they didn’t get bailed out sharpish, politicians VISA accounts would cease to work
That did the trick, so I expect the banks to suggest that we should all vote for McHoon otherwise they’ll chase up all those missed mortgage payments
And I got away with it!!
Was it Damien McBride who thought up the sick lie that the wife of a leading Tory gave birth to a seriously disabled child because she and her husband had a sexually transmitted disease?
Or was it Gordon Brown’s idea?
Goverment has started a flu epidemic scare.
Careful!
We have to remember, this is New Labour – there would have been a committee , a committee clerk and minutes. There will have been a diverse range of peoples on this committee, from the west midlands to east northants as well as the McPoisons. Hopefully somewhere, there is will also have been a poor bullied, frightened, committee clerk with a conscience. Truth will out, as they say. We just have to be patient. As I keep saying – slowly slowly catchee monkey.
No, Anonymong at 8.23, this is your own sick attempt at a smear and a lie. You have a warped mind.
RotherhitheBob at 8.42
You must have been hiding under your rock for a few days. The big lie about the leading Tory’s wife, an STD, and it’s imaginary link to the birth of their disabled child, is the nastiest of all the smears cooked up by Brown, McBride, and Draper.
NewGirl seems to like me Anonymous, who can blame her mate, how are you tonight, safely tucked up in your chair by the fire?
Spot on.
Remember those nasty Americans Brown is keen to blame for the credit crunch? Not so long ago, he was going round telling everyone that the whole world owes the USA a debt. He told us how he was an “Atlanticist and great admirer of the American spirit”. Perhaps that’s why our banks were even more poorly regulated than theirs were.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6920877.stm
Funny how he’s since changed his mind. Instead of the world owing the US a debt, the UK and the US are now in debt to the rest of the world, and we’ll be paying it off for decades. Well done, Gordon.
Please learn about economics Bob, read Supercapitalism by Robert Reich, it explains rather well why this so-called democracy is not worth a lit candle mate.
You really are easy to fool Alienz.
There are no secret banker’s cartels, no capitalist cabals power brokering the world. No world Jewry conspiracy, no lizardmen disguised as world leaders, no molemen living in the bowels of the earth.
No controlling aliens from another galaxy. There are no mice or supercomputers running the economies. There aren’t even a gang of oil producing companies trying to keep the electric car of the market.
There is no secret stonemason society that needs a special handshake to gain admittance to. No ancient Aztec temples that UFO’s visit and dispense proclamations.
No super Toff society that secretly rules instead of the illusion of Democracy.
There is what there is. Mostly formed in the West by increased wealth and freedoms, in the East by profiteers and oil and religion. In the south by poverty and dictators and civil wars and in the north by Greenpeace. Stop watching Doctor Who. Its confusing you.
{secretly I do know where the world elite Bullingdon club meet. But if I tell you, I have to kill you}
What’s your view on the moon landing? Real or imaginary?
Why would I need to read a book to realise that, mate?
British banks provided much of the money that was lent irresponsibly in the US. US banks couldn’t provide it, because they were better regulated.
I agree, Bill Quango they’ve found your trousers orbitting Mars mate
Glenrothes
Yes-it has now been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the SNP actually won Glenrothes.
Liebour “lost” the voting registers!!
Labour postal voting scam showed how they will win the GE.
The French are getting a strop across La Manche. Andy Burnham having a new arse ripped on live TV. The wankers have never had it so far up ‘em.
Man in the street is a public schoolboy, dumbed down boot boy, chav with a posh accent, never pays his way, tax or house rent
Who laughing though, mate?
Why are you posting as Chaucer?
We MUST make it to the 1000 comments mark today ! Here’s my 88p worth.
shameless plug
Is that Jaqui’s shameless bathplug?
The smeargate story’s dead in the water already. All that effort from Guido and his handful of bloggers, and the only net result is to actually put the lies about poor Dorries, Frances Osborne et al into the public domain.
I still can’t understand why Osborne’s wife had to be named. Only a lack of basic humanity could have allowed this action.
There will be other pages to turn in the week that follows.
Perhaps there will also be deferred retribution at the ballot box.
No?
I really wish that the Observer had genuinely said something so profound.
Bob are you the only person on here talking sense? You’re right who cares, nothing will change all this blogging is for nothing and Guido, who is HE and how did HE get hold of confidential emails and in the end does it matter, it’s all just a game the public schoolboys play, nothing to do with 93% of us.
You be part of the 93% if you wish. Some of us consider we are worth more than that.We don’t all want to be sheep. Though Gordon and his thuggies would like it if we did.
Don’t you wish. Thousands of people at Anfield today booed at the mention of Brown.
Obourne’s wife was named by McPoison.
No, McPoison didn’t put her into the public domain. Guido made sure of that.
Keep on running admiral the gremlins wont catch you
I cannot fathom how you could be more correct about the supine craven pond-scum that refer to themselves as the lobby journalists. Except to add that in many cases it may be simply laziness and extreme ignorance that causes such supine behaviour towards MPs, but in many cases it is far far worse. It is outright complicity in a desire to mislead the public to increase the power of the establishment at the expense of the public. How else can one explain the wilful dissemination of blatant lies, without question or examination?
I agree with Ned I blame the sc-called royal famili too, how many of the public are supine toward that surreal nonsense
You do a great injustice to supine pond scum – I know I am a very keep keeper of a garden pond.
My deepest apologies for besmirching the good name of real pond scum. I am so sorry. It was not my intention at all to infer that real pond scum is in any way as foul, disingenuous or repulsive as the supine and complicit mainstream media. I shall not make this error ever again. Please, I beg your forgiveness for my error.
I could have called them horseshit merchants, but horseshit is excellent for growing healthy food and therefore there is a positive outcome from it. The sleaze, lies and propaganda mouthpieces’ produce nothing of real value and ensure the subjugation of the people under a criminal regime of fucking child murderers and war criminals. They are far below the value of pond scum.
I am genuinely and sincerely sorry for making that error.
There Gordon Brown, that is how to apologise. Take note!!!

20th and 21st, rather. Oh, bugger it, the most crushing defeat SO FAR.
I meant the worst electoral punishment in the history of the Labour party.
We know what you meant – and agree with you. I just hope it’s going to come about – hopefully there will be enough of us pensioners about to make it happen.
Well done Guido;a momentous few days
The inablilty of the MSM to find write or publish the truth and the resulting information apartheid that exists is just a culture medium for twats like McBride and Watson.
Nice to see you’re no mean hand with the quill and parchment yourself when you put your mind to it
By 1989, Ceauşescu was showing signs of complete denial of reality. While the country was going through extremely difficult times with long bread queues in front of empty food shops, he was often shown on state TV entering stores filled with food supplies, visiting large food and arts festivals where people would serve him mouthwatering food while praising the “high living standard” achieved under his rule. Special contingents of food deliveries would fill stores before his visits, and even well-fed cows would be transported across country in anticipation of his visits to farms. Staples such as flour, eggs, butter and milk were difficult to find and most people started to depend on small gardens grown either in small city alleys or out in the country. In late 1989, daily TV broadcasts showed lists of CAPs (kolkhozes) with alleged record harvests, in blatant contradiction to the shortages experienced by the average Romanian at the time.
Sounds like history is about to repeat it’s self with someone else we all know and his corrupt party and state broadcaster.
Calm down Tickety this is only a game mate, this is not serious it will all blow over mate, get a hobby like beer mat collecting, or visiting defunct football clubs.
Nothing’s going to change whether we have the Tories or New Labour in at the next election you’re deluded if you think anything will.
That is the first thing you have ever posted that has made sense. I agree.
I’m so sorry that you are so deeply into the victim culture. Come On! WE survived the Blitz and much else since then. WE are better than these freeloading, jeering animals that think they are a credible government. Let’s have a little more back bone here and show them that this ‘discerning rabble’ has more staying power and intelligence than they do. Sorry folks about calling us a rabble – other suggestions for a description of us would be appreciated.
Same went for Mengistu, TicketyBoo. As soon as berk and gelled-off had their cameras there he flew thousand up on thousand to the scene, the arid part of an otherwise lush country. And you suckers underwrote the purchase of a load more T55 tanks – for which the Russians are still awaiting payment.
O/T, but I was just on the BBC News website and was excited by the headline of this article:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8000763.stm
Unfortunately the BBC meant racist extremists are on the rise. Another example of Biased Beeb?
Ah but there are no left wing extremists they are all very nice people that help grandma across the road while filling in her postal vote form on her behalf.
You do us Grandma’s a disservice. My motorized wheel chair is going to get me to the voting booth every time until the day they take me off in a coffin and even then I might manage to vote on the way. Be assured it won’t be for this new labour shower.
A bit O/T but worth it…

“It is always valuable in times of political crisis to be able to view the character of the people in the spotlight in the round, as it were. So, in the interests of democracy, may I offer up this little vignette into the domestic behaviour of Mr Derek Draper, blogger, “psychotherapist” and thorn in the prime ministerial side?
More than 10 years ago, a young Draper turned up in my kitchen. He was but a humble researcher and too young then for any sort of reputation to have come before him. But he had one by the time he left. Throughout the children’s tea, he thought nothing of repeatedly stealing French fries from their plates, using various underhand methods (“Oh! Look over there!”) to do so.
His poor young victims have never forgotten it. And ever since, whenever his face has come up on the news, with whatever fresh scandal he has since been involved, it has always met with the cry: “There’s that creep who nicked our chips!”
(Once a hoon, always a hoon.)
You sick Tory boys think you’re all so funny writing those vicious comments about Derek Drapers book on Amazon.
Derek is more of a man than you’ll ever be. You emotional retards are not fit to lick his boots.
who says we’re boys?
well said mate! At last some intellect in this forest of Tory bum rubbers
Now, now Kris, no homophobic comments on Guido’s blog, please!
I’ll sue you for libel and defamation of character if your not careful i’m a liberal democract don’t ya know.
OH MY GOD A Lib Dem I am sooooo scared. Grow up people – you don’t know what a Lib Dem is do you?
Rave reviews for Drapers fabulous new book on Amazon

They are the party who don’t mind the odd shit every now and again (not theirs) aren’t they?
Hello Derek, I notice you’ve been winding them up on politicalbetting.com tonight with the same sockpuppet.
Nice one Centurian! Like it! like it!….
His boots are undoubtedly soaked in his own piss the filthy tramp.
I agree with you Ronaldo. People on this blog are so cruel.
But I know you’d like to lick his boots. Go on you know you want to. It’s OK.
Really it is.
Freak…
I have lived long and healthily and I have never wanted to be a man. As for tory? that is also unlikely. I am however, a hardworking, working class pensioner, (still growing my own vegetables and helping my stressed troublous tribe to raise their children).
As a pensioner I have been badly treated by this money-leaching government.
What are you? Do you have credentials?
I am also WI and someone on this blog did say something rather unkind about we WI people earlier in the day. I meant to take them to task about that but I lost the thread as I was trying to deal with grandchildren on their easter hols (product of old age- can;t multitask any longer). However, whoever you were running down the WI, you may say sorry to me – Sorry is the sort of word proper grown ups know how to use when they have done something unacceptable. Immature adults have difficulty in using this word as ‘psychotherapist people’ could explain.
Sorry Nell.
That’s quite some homoerotic confession you’ve made there, Steve. lemme guess you just cannot resist the stubble scratches on your inner thigh?
Draper is a cowardly piece of piss. All very clever and big when bullying and smearing others, but as soon as people have a bit of a go back, he cries like a baby to the rapidly reducing section of the media that will still give the obnoxious little shit the time of day.
He is a coward, a liar, a hypocrite and he fully deserves every bit of flak he gets.
In the real world, a MAN has no recourse to lie or cheat. Draper is NO man!
And what shape is the sun on your planet sunshine?
Take very good care guido, they have removed princesses and scientists for less
My Barbie shed a tear the day Princess Diana left this world.
I was quids in though. Sharpening my pencil for the next one.
I note a decsion on the Damien Green case (arrested in November) will be made tmrw.
But of a decision on the Abrahams Labour Party ‘donargate’ case there is no sign. Reasons for this? That file was passed to the CPS on June 28th last year.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/labour/2199774/Labour-donations-CPS-gets-police-file-on-David-Abrahams.html
One could speculate somebody might be placing pressure on the CPS to hold things up. But that sort never happens in the UK. Nothing to worry about. Probably a Backlog or the file fell down the back of the sofa. In the same way there is nothing to worry about when the PM claims not to have a clue what his closest political aide is up to.
Who cares Tory Boy go back to your public school club
I’m getting confused now. Is Derek Draper Kris Alienz or Steven Ronald, or both?
Does lord mandelson show you his UFO mr alienz.
back of sofa? more like left on a train or taxi to conform
Taxi for Alienz
who cares about the law?. thats the socialist way. I suspect you may thought I was public schoolboy by the grammer and joined up sentences. No they still do that at Comp’s as well. Only just.
still better hope your boys have fixed it good with the CPS or its a 6 by 4 with your own toilet for your chap. Tell ‘em when you get off shift.
Bit of trolling to provide some balance, mate? Never did me any harm.
You evil fucker going on about public school kids. They can’t help where they were educated. Their parents were the ones who signed them up. Only 7% of UK kids go to public school. There’s less of them than homosexualists, bisexuals and transgenders but that bunh of LBGT fuckers get speshul legislation under this fucking government to stop the rest of us taking the piss.
But poor old Toby. Or Dave. Or Patrick. Or Harriet. Or Tony who went to public scholl. Weeeeeell, they’re fair game for your vile educationalist rhetoric.
These kids can’t help where they went to school any more than you can help being a fucking thick Labour apologist.
oh change the record KA…its duller than dull. Get that large sack of spuds off your shoulder and grow up
There really is nothing more that can be released to you supine lobby fodder that will sell a few extra copies.
Lord? What is Lord Tickety, you don’t take that seriously do you, let’s just call him Peter Mandelson I don’t recognise false a wards mate they ahve to be earned in my book – I can see you are a sycophant and therefore irrelevant Mr Boo
Please do not take my name in vane.
Derek is more of a man than you’ll ever be.
Really ? When did he grow up ?
Kate baby come to daddy
Hope Dolly doesn’t get a DNA test done after Kate pops the sprog. He might not like the results ;)
I was wrong. Here are the trolls.
Oh come on – we have had to put up with this shit for years – let us have a little fun (as Kate said to daddy boy).
OK. I’ve watched the Burnham/Ceausescu video twice now and can’t make out what the crowd was singing/chanting.
Anyone?
It does not matter what they were singing, the fact is that they were. The Guardian said that there was ’spontaneous applause’ as Andy Burnham the Minister for culture adressed them’. Did you hear spontaneous applause? Those of us who watched Sky as the event was happening know the answer to that question. The deeper question is why? is the Guardian saying what happened was ’spontaneous applause?’ Who owns the Guardian? actually I don’t know- but I bet someone on this blog does. Or it could be that Gordon told them what to say? Any suggestions anyone?
I thought it was the Pink Flag.
Ain’t seen it, mate but a monkey says it weren’t ‘The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of Music’.
Nell, go to http://www.guardianlies.com/
especially look at http://www.guardianlies.com/Section%204/index.html
There is info on there on the owners, and also on the web
Google for ‘guardian media owners’ or similar
“justice for 96″
In addition they were expressing their extreme displeasure at the government he represents. Even Liverpudlians know he’s a Hoon.
The government he represents? And what’s wrong with Liverpudlians Pearly King?
Hmmm, so it was a chant. If so, how did they all (seem to) know when to end all at the same time? (Everyone stopped chanting and started clapping at the same time.)
This is like watching a car crash in slow motion, though infinitely more enjoyable.
My only fear is that the whole process of politics today has become so ingrained that whoever takes over will just carry one as this mob have done.
If Dave and the rest can’t see the way the wind is blowing and change accordingly then we really are sunk.
The wind is blowin outta their arses. Car crashes can get a bit tedious after so long. Things are gonna change in ways their tiny minds can’t imagine, mate.
I really don’t get this. Balls and crew are busy talking themselves up. The Met thinks that slapping a woman and beating a drunken old man makes them hard. Jesus when I did anti terrorist training years ago the biggest danger was not some mad idiot but trained professionals like the Spetnaz as was then. An amateur idiot may kill hundreds but most will be members of the public. A professional will take out the families of law enforcement officers (to cut off the head cause disarray in the body).. Those protecting the head will have their attention split. Eventually the gaps appear – then you cut off the head.
The IRA tried this but it ultimately failed, not because it didn’t work but because the public spirit would not be broken ( you cannot kill all the body).
So Mr Balls, Brown, Prescott is your body still strong?
I’d like to apologize to everyone for all the idiotic comments I have posted today. I have this intellectual tick that compels me to write nonsense every now and again, and the more I try to suppress it the worse it gets. Just ignore all my posts in the future, and if any of you has any suggestions about a possible cure I should be immensely grateful.
Thanks anonymous very funny you don’t write in my sync
Have you tried Psychotherapy?
If that doesn’t work try a sharp truncheon blow to the head neck or arms in a pUblic place and then call Max Clifford.
“Have you tried Psychotherapy?”
I’ve got some time on my hands at the moment if you’re looking for a quack, I mean a psycho the rapist.
Don’t ask to see my qualifications though
But Kris don’t apologise your a freak like me and Batman.
Wow. 1000 plus comments. Its getting crowded in this ghetto.
Crowded yes. Time Guido started a new thread. Unfortunately my elderly bones are going to have to go to bed soon. Be here for a little while longer but thanks Guido- for another enjoyable day. Tomorrow=Tom Watson, the labour committees of the midlands , east northants and the rest.
My first day of reading political blogs.
To aid my transfer from the old world a list please in descending order of respect of the old-media reporters/commentators.
You’ll soon adapt to the new way of doing things. This comment structure makes me want to jump for joy, son.
Hooray – over 1000 comments!
Steady Anonymous don’t forget you hernia
Kris – for Chrissake. There you are. I’ve been looking for you all night. Will you get the fuck back over to LabourList and stop adding to the hit rate here. We’re trying to break the right-wing bloggers’ monopoly in case you missed the last committee meeting.
I’m ready. Anonymous was born circa whenever, did something in it’s life but came to a tragic end when it busted it’s gut on comment 1013. Amen.
Absolutely fantastic Guido.
I first started reading your blog way back in 2006 and have told people to read it also. Your assassination of McBride has finally brought you into the mainstream media and indeed the stratosphere of blogging judging by the sheer amount of comments to this one blog entry alone hence your sensational revelations.
Congratulations and well done !!!
If there where more people like you out there then the world would indeed be a far, far, far better place.
Keep up the good work and continue exposing the troughing hoons for what they are.
Ed, Gordon, Derek, and Damien asked me to tell you that James Purnell is gay and that Ed would make a much better leader than either him or that Harriett Harman, who is the man-hating, lesbo-freak from hell. That’s what Gordon said anyway.
I’m not poisonous. I’m just the useful idiot on The Telegraph who passes this stuff on.
Excellent news. I can’t wait wait to have a pair of Balls running the country, even if one of them inexplicably refuses to use her husbands surname.
Well Done, keep them on their toes!!
Well over 1000 comments in 10 hours on one item
Guido you are a hero it goes to to show that most of our betters ( or so they think they are ) are no better then leaches on society … keep up to good work
Congratulations on exceeding a thousand blogs. And goodnight. My blood pressure has been much relieved by finding you over Easter and being able to take part in your stimulating blog. I shall die happy, but not for a long time yet I hope because you have given me a voice and I really want to be an irritating shell in the oyster (Not that I think a pearl could be created from this labour debacle. Absolutey never.). Salutations.
Well done on the millennium+ comments: you’ve hit the motherlode mainstream and left Toenails as but dust under your chariot wheels.
not just pensioners, I am almost 40 and my daughter who is 18 cannot abide those labour criminal shysters! I want them utterly eradicated as a political force.
Goodnight Nell. It’s been a laugh hasn’t it?
IF the tories win next time and slaughter the insane labour monster in the process I shall party like I have never partied before.
Then after the hangover I shall set to work to eradicate the tories to replace them with decent and honest local independents in every constituency.
Top work that man. You wait – the bastards will be out to get you now – or ban the interweb!
They havent banned anything for a week or two……..
It is easy to see why the paper press and channels other than the BBC are craven towards nulab (and politicians in general, to be fair), because the cash in their pockets depends on access. That is not to justify it, just to understand it.
What is harder to forgive is the BBC’s attitude, since they are gifted millions by the BBC tax-payer.
Paxman’s reply, from the clip, is both ridiculous and pathetic; pretending that reading out a government prepared statement is not just craven obeisance.
The sooner the BBC tax is scrapped and the likes of Dimblebies, Paxman, Marrs and Vines are put out into the streets, the better.
agree
and the no marks of little/ no talent like Ross, Tim Lovejoy (tim who??), Victoria Derbyshite and on and on……..
Don’t worry, Gordon, I’ve deleted the Internet AND I’ve emptied the Recycle Bin.
THAT’LL teach Guido to come the smartarse with me.
Amazing, over 1000 posts!!! there are others out there! I’m not alone!!!!! if a 1000 people commented then 100,000 must have viewed.
There maybe enough people to save the country from this madness of new labour, political correctness, health n safety, bbc, cctv, feck wit bunch of terrified drones most people have become! there is nothing to fear!!!
The only ones who need be afraid are muppets in westminster ~ the games up lads, we’ve seen thru you! You are no better than Uday and Qusay Saddam. Milking the productive parts of the economy to line your own pockets.
Lets have an ‘Ayn Rand’ strike! when all the normal tax paying, law abiding, creative, productive men and women go on strike! Lets’ not be milked by this leeches anymore!
Rise Like Lions after Slumber

and shake your chains to earth like dew
which in sleep have fallen on you

Better late than never.
The Army method of motivation (you ‘orrible little man) would plainly have worked with you- you’d have proved yourself- but others it destroys.
Encouragement works best for some people.
Horses for courses
Bloggers who know who McBride’s accomplices in the media were and don’t name them are just as cowardly as the lobby and just as complicit in the crime
1,075 comments now. Wow! Is this the most commented order-order blog entry ever.
Thanks for being there for us Guido.
Truth is, I read your blog ahead of other online news media. I know I get the truth and no spin from your blog. That’s as it should be. Thanks again! Great job ! -as the Americans say.
ooppsie.rule number one…..never piss off btp ….ohhh well. sorry i should really care however i was just threatened with being locked up by these thugs///, badges nr: 4842, 0783 an 0571 are on serious patrol at waterloo….the chief 0207921518 says it is all good. the btp said that they had no cctv footage of the issue! altho i guess they do!
Today’s papers are reporting that the Conservatives are now openly accusing Cabinet Secretary Gus O’Donnell of a whitewash over McBride and Watson and have taken the unprecedented step of formally complaining.
Today’s Mail reveals that Cabinet Secretary Gus O’Donnell was referred to as experiencing “serious concern” in the Civil Service letter, signed by Cabinet Office Security Director Chris Wright, asking Bob Quick to investigate Damian Green. That letter is now revealed to have exaggerated the risk of the leaks being a threat to national security.
It seems unlikely that a letter from Chris Wright referring to the Cabinet Secretary’s “serious concern”, and requesting an investigation of a senior MP, would have been sent to Bob Quick without O’Donnell first being consulted, if not on his direct instructions.
We should be told whether McBride and/or O’Donnell were involved in the sending of the letter to Bob Quick soliciting the arrest of a senior Conservative MP in the Commons.
In view of his apparent involvement in the Damian Green matter, it would seem appropriate for O’Donnell to pass the McBride/Watson investigation to a senior figure outside Downing Street, possibly a High Court Judge, until the extent of his involvement is clarified.
Woop woop! This one could get very interesting!
More detail in this Labourgraph piece

Paxman comes over as a right wanker it has to be said.
Top man Guido, I don’t think we have ever had more than 1,000 comments before. Onward & upwards.
And well done Mr Draper – backwards and downwards!
Comments > 1K … respect !
Stat-p0rn will be hard-core.
Crikey – I’ve not seen an Austin 1100 on Guido before…
Is this a record ?
Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells…
For how can you compete… with one

Yeats………..Another fortune teller ???
O/T, but 1,105 comments and still rising. Must be a record. The monthly stats for April will be interesting reading for those who decry blogs and the power thereof.
Nick Robinson on his last blog before running off on holiday started his blog
“The Chancellor of the World Exchequer. That is how Gordon Brown appeared today as he delivered his global budget speech at the end of this G20 summit.”
Before delivering a very meek criticism.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/nickrobinson/2009/04/chancellor_of_t.html#comments
This man is not a journalist he is a Brown poodle. I feel sick reading the sesspit of a column that he writes.
All this time I’ve been watching Paxo without realising he had a newlabour hand up his arse.
No more.
I know why he got aggressive, it’s because he was frightened.
He’s seen the future, and he isn’t in it.
Hahaha, so funny. You put Paxman right on the spot. I don’t think that’s ever been done before!!!
Blimey, 1100 comments so far. Well done Guido!
HPC Have also got a thread running on Brown saying Sorry….
http://www.housepricecrash.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=111509&st=0
One of the best comments
Methinksshe
Gordon Brown is like a relcacitrant child found with his hand in the sweetie jar. By the time an apology has been extracted under ever more dire threats of punishment, it is barely worth the breath with which it was uttered. It is merely academic. The only thing that can be said for an apology extracted under such duress is that it may make him a little less blase in future. I don’t for a moment believe there is any sincerity attached. Regret at being found out, maybe, but no genuine sorrow for the offence.
Another one…
Thunderbird 900
So Brown finally realises that his letter of apology, written like a five year old with a crayon, is not enough.
More like someone in his inner circle finally had the balls to tell this mentally ill bully boy that he should, please sir, pretty please, actually say sorry.
Brown is finished, he is rubbish.
Call an election!
What do I do to make you want me
What have I got to do to be heard
What do I say when it’s all over
And sorry seems to be the hardest word
It’s sad, so sad
It’s a sad, sad situation
And it’s getting more and more absurd
It’s sad, so sad
Why can’t we talk it over
Oh it seems to me
That sorry seems to be the hardest word
Just caught your latest Newsnight outing. You’re certainly getting the hang of these TV appearances now.
Over 1000 posts – is that a record?
Not OT … just upping the count !!
Well Done Guido.
BTW why are the editors of the dead Tree Press so reclusive. Their names never appear in their papers so we don’t know who they are that create the toadying drivel. As these editors are cloked in secrecy no one holds them to account.
For example for the past ten years the Daily Mail has told us how brilliant and great the chancellor Gordon Brown was. Isn’t it time the editor of the Mail apologised for putting forward such obvious nonsense for so long.
Now you’ve lifted the stone and the grubs are running back into the darkness, it’s time to expose the editorial chief cock roaches that have betrayed English democracy for ten years, starting with whichever roach is now in charge at the Daily Telegraph.
