As the bard said "Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown", I believe Gordon has never been comfortable either as leader of the party or leader of the country. He perceives real or imaginary enemies both within the party and without, and despatches them with ruthless efficiency. Gordon has always been a latter day Ivan the Terrible surrounded by his Oprichnina, loyal and ruthless men willing do his bidding.

The weapons developed by NuLab while in opposition to deliver power, have never been put aside once the prize of government was achieved, they were turned on each other. There is always the éminence grise standing at the leaders side, be they called Mandelson, McBride, Watson or Campbell.

Reply to: No 56 Gordon Brown says
April 13, 2009 at 9:45pm

Gordon Brown writing about the Code of Conduct for Bloggers and his proposals he wants to make to tighten this up.

Reply:

Have you noticed Gordon your use of the word ‘want’? You always says what he ‘want’ to do – you never say what you can do, except, that is, when it comes to gagging and silencing your critics you resort to threats with the use of GCHQ inter alia.

Oh! Gordon, such statements have bloggers shaking in their shoes, and to think that you have such reaching powers, yet with such far reaching monitoring and tracking do you agree that you would be better to use GCHQ to track down and claw back the hundreds of billions of pounds from unscrupulous bankers. After all, You were responsible for changing the banking system.

CHANGE OF THE SYSTEM

Up until 1997, the Bank of England controlled the financial system. Mortgages were protected from such abuse, under existing safeguards of regulations and the law, mortgages, in particular, were sacrosanct. Mortgages were only to be used for the purchase of property - loans for all other purchases had to be through a bank loan or hire purchase, which were short term and had a higher rate of interest. Lending banks and building societies were strictly regulated in order to protect homeowners, the security of their asset and its valuation upon which mortgage deeds depend. Lending for consumer spending on domestic and luxury goods were kept separate with a firewall similar to Glass Stegall.

However in 1997, when you were, Chancellor, you decided that you didn’t like that anymore. So he introduced a system were we had, the Financial Services Authority, the Treasury, and the Bank of England, (the Tripartite Authorities) carving up the job amongst them. Just one big problem – when there was a crisis, ‘apparently’ nobody knew who was in control. The effect of all this - the Chancellor at the helm, in effect, you handed over all your possession, power and control of Britain’s economy to unscrupulous foreign bankers over which you had no jurisdiction or authority – the system unregulated.

One should keep in mind – who’s idea was it to change the banking system? was it your idea? was it the Bankers'? or was it both?

But, Gordon, whether it happens again is, by your statement, neither here or there. The facts are that all these matters, most foul, did happen under your watch and wouldn’t have come to light had GCHQ, FSA, HM Treasury, been up to the job. The unscrupulous bankers’ knew exactly what they were doing. They were the ones who dreamed up CLO’s and similar products and knew how to use them to make themselves a fortune, massive bonuses’, fat pensions inter alia, at the expense of homeowners’, taxpayers’ and our economy vandalised. They most certainly were No Novices.

But what if the e-mails hadn’t been leaked? You wouldn’t have known what your right hand man and chief advisor was up too. Surly, Gordon you should be taking whatever action is necessary to improve the tarnished reputation of your governance and control over your advisors behaviour. You should be grateful to bloggers for their assistance.

Now Gordon, what makes you think you or your government are qualified to decide by self-regulation what is inappropriate conduct of your own government members? Bloggers would therefore now like a more explicit assurance included in the Politicians Code of Conduct that not only are the highest standards expected of Politicians but that the preparation or dissemination of inappropriate material as decided not by the government but by the electorate.

Making such statements to gag bloggers, journalists and critics is not playing cricket. If your advisor colleges were acting honestly and with integrity and you have nothing to hide, why then should you fear your critics? Surly, taking such action to gag and silence them is that of paranoia doctorial behaviour which has no place in any democracy.

You say: you think it right to make it a part of the Bloggers contract by asking our Bloggers to sign such an assurance and to recognise that if they are ever found to be preparing and disseminating inappropriate material they will automatically be face criminal investigation with possible imprisonment for up to 30 years with no computer nor internet access of any description.

Well, funny enough, we also think it right to make it a part of the Politicians contract by making it mandatory that our Politicians to sign such an assurance and to recognise that if they are ever found to be preparing and disseminating inappropriate material they will automatically be face criminal investigation with possible imprisonment for up to 30 years with no computer nor internet access of any description.

Well, Gordon, the enemy within is waiting for you to call a general election and as you know that whilst you are away, around the world, the mice will play.

Yeehaaaw, Whoopee-Do!! Gordon McRuin and his 'Poisonoous Goons' are 'outed' for what they are. A bunch of lieing, sleaze-bound, scandal mongering fackwits.

And it gets better, and better. Whats the betting the ZaNuLab-Pf Partie's slease department will resurrect itself the nearer to a General Election we move!!

Pa Broone is looking more and more threadbare, just like the slobbering, gibbering, blethering comedy character 'Rab C Nesbitt'.

Keep up the good world, Gordo. Who knows, you might still get a job as a Latrine Attendant at 'Maplins' Holdiay Camp in time for the summer 'Hi De Hi' season....!!

Extract from Gordon's speech at the special conference in Manchester, Sunday 24th June 2007.

"We must be far clearer in speaking up for the common ground upon which we stand - the shared British values of liberty, civic duty and fairness to all".

In his local paper the Express & Star, Tom Watson denied any involvement in the e-mails. See

http://www.expressandstar.com/2009/04/13/mp-denies-being-part-of-email-scandal/

This is a change from the printed edition in which he stated he had checked all his e-mails and could find none of the leaked e-mails.

Wasn't he included in the distribution list of some? Is Watson lying or are the e-mails forgeries? Must be one or the other?
