So Gordon, About this Letter…

Damian McPoisonGordon has announced he is going to write letters to all those smeared in emails from Damian McBride.  Good, remember how this all started; McBride emailed Draper a text-sketch on how to smear Iain Dale as a racist.  A week later on Friday, February 13, he emailed Draper again with the ammunition to smear Guido as a racist too.  Alas we were not to get the more exotic dildo/vibrator fantasy stories he concocted for Tory MPs.

McBride smeared Dale and Guido by email via Draper’s website.  Derek having  lied about this, has belatedly admitted the truth, having denied it repeatedly live on TV to myself and Andrew Neil.

I will frame Gordon’s letter of regret for what McBride did.  He is going to send one, isn’t he?

      Gordon Brown says:

      Dear Guido

I am writing about the Code of Conduct for Bloggers, and the proposals I want to make to tighten this up.

I have already taken responsibility for acting on this – first by accepting far reaching monitoring, tracking and logging by GCHQ of all internet activity originating from or passing though United Kingdom Internet Service Providers, Internet Points of Presence or Internet exchanges.

Any activity such as this that affects the reputation of United Kingdom and so is in the public interest to monitor, control and limit if required.

I have also written personally to all those other bloggers who were subject to these unsubstantiated claims.

Mr McBride has apologised and done so unreservedly. But it is also important to make sure such behaviour does not happen again.
Bloggers, such as yourself, who leak such emails make this task so much harder, since this is the only means that such behaviour is drawn to the attention of the UK public.

Any activity such as email leaks that affects the reputation of our politics is a matter of great regret to me and I am ready to take whatever action is necessary to improve our internet control system.

I would therefore now like a more explicit assurance included in the Bloggers Code of Conduct that not only are the highest standards expected of Bloggers but that the preparation or dissemination of inappropriate material as decided by the government or personal attacks have no part to play in the job of being a Blogger, just as it has no part to play in the conduct of all our public life.

I also think it right to make it a part of the Bloggers contract by asking our Bloggers to sign such an assurance and to recognise that if they are ever found to be preparing and disseminating inappropriate material they will automatically be face criminal investigation with possible imprisonment for up to 30 years with no computer nor internet access of any description.

I think you will agree that all of us in public life have a responsibility to ensure that we observe the highest standards.
Like the overwhelming majority of figures in public life across the political spectrum, I entered politics because of a sense of public duty and to improve the lives and opportunities of those less fortunate than me. I don’t wish this to be shown as no longer true by Bloggers.

My undivided focus as prime minister is on acting to make Britain a fairer, safer and more prosperous nation and, in particular, on guiding the country through the current economic and blogging difficulties.

The public would expect no less and would also expect the highest possible standards from all their bloggers, politicians and all those who work for them.

      Yours sincerely
      Gordon Brown.

‘Bloggers Code of Conduct’, ‘Bloggers contract’, etc. Easy to dismiss this as a spoof but, this morning, the useless Hazel Blears is on BBC Breakfast and, having skated over the business of ‘inappropriate’ emails, she returns to her theme of the ‘corrosive’ nature of some political blogs. She thinks politics is so much better conducted ‘face to face’ and clearly doesn’t see the irony of this statement set against the murky secrecy of the McBride/Draper axis.

Gordon Brown writing about the Code of Conduct for Bloggers and his proposals he wants to make to tighten this up.

        Reply:

Have you noticed Gordon your use of the word ‘want’? You always says what he ‘want’ to do – you never say what you can do, except, that is, when it comes to gagging and silencing your critics you resort to threats with the use of GCHQ inter alia.

Oh! Gordon, such statements have bloggers shaking in their shoes, and to think that you have such reaching powers, yet with such far reaching monitoring and tracking do you agree that you would be better to use GCHQ to track down and claw back the hundreds of billions of pounds from unscrupulous bankers. After all, You were responsible for changing the banking system.

        CHANGE OF THE SYSTEM

Up until 1997, the Bank of England controlled the financial system. Mortgages were protected from such abuse, under existing safeguards of regulations and the law, mortgages, in particular, were sacrosanct. Mortgages were only to be used for the purchase of property – loans for all other purchases had to be through a bank loan or hire purchase, which were short term and had a higher rate of interest. Lending banks and building societies were strictly regulated in order to protect homeowners, the security of their asset and its valuation upon which mortgage deeds depend. Lending for consumer spending on domestic and luxury goods were kept separate with a firewall similar to Glass Stegall.

However in 1997, when you were, Chancellor, you decided that you didn’t like that anymore. So he introduced a system were we had, the Financial Services Authority, the Treasury, and the Bank of England, (the Tripartite Authorities) carving up the job amongst them. Just one big problem – when there was a crisis, ‘apparently’ nobody knew who was in control. The effect of all this – the Chancellor at the helm, in effect, you handed over all your possession, power and control of Britain’s economy to unscrupulous foreign bankers over which you had no jurisdiction or authority – the system unregulated.

One should keep in mind – who’s idea was it to change the banking system? was it your idea? was it the Bankers’? or was it both?

But, Gordon, whether it happens again is, by your statement, neither here or there. The facts are that all these matters, most foul, did happen under your watch and wouldn’t have come to light had GCHQ, FSA, HM Treasury, been up to the job. The unscrupulous bankers’ knew exactly what they were doing. They were the ones who dreamed up CLO’s and similar products and knew how to use them to make themselves a fortune, massive bonuses’, fat pensions inter alia, at the expense of homeowners’, taxpayers’ and our economy vandalised. They most certainly were No Novices.

But what if the e-mails hadn’t been leaked? You wouldn’t have known what your right hand man and chief advisor was up too. Surly, Gordon you should be taking whatever action is necessary to improve the tarnished reputation of your governance and control over your advisors behaviour. You should be grateful to bloggers for their assistance.

Now Gordon, what makes you think you or your government are qualified to decide by self-regulation what is inappropriate conduct of your own government members? Bloggers would therefore now like a more explicit assurance included in the Politicians Code of Conduct that not only are the highest standards expected of Politicians but that the preparation or dissemination of inappropriate material as decided not by the government but by the electorate.

Making such statements to gag bloggers, journalists and critics is not playing cricket. If your advisor colleges were acting honestly and with integrity and you have nothing to hide, why then should you fear your critics? Surly, taking such action to gag and silence them is that of paranoia doctorial behaviour which has no place in any democracy.

You say: you think it right to make it a part of the Bloggers contract by asking our Bloggers to sign such an assurance and to recognise that if they are ever found to be preparing and disseminating inappropriate material they will automatically be face criminal investigation with possible imprisonment for up to 30 years with no computer nor internet access of any description.

Well, funny enough, we also think it right to make it a part of the Politicians contract by making it mandatory that our Politicians to sign such an assurance and to recognise that if they are ever found to be preparing and disseminating inappropriate material they will automatically be face criminal investigation with possible imprisonment for up to 30 years with no computer nor internet access of any description.

Well, Gordon, the enemy within is waiting for you to call a general election and as you know that whilst you are away, around the world, the mice will play.

So, the real question about all this illusion, smoke and mirrors which, in the end, signifys nothing and doesn’t help the starving of the world, the impoverished or the unemployed, is who is Guido Fawkes and how did this right wing Tory boy get hold of an email belonging to a Labour Party aide. Can’t anyone see what is happening here, this is the real dumming down, people like Guido Fawkes are the real chavs.

The fact that this was thought to be a possible tactic to me is so far beyond the pale as to render its instigators pariah status. The fact that McBride thought it okay to email possible items shows how far out of touch he is.

The constituent elements of the tort of misfeasance are as follows:

That the act or conduct has been committed by a public officer.
The act or conduct must have been done by him in the purported exercise of his power as a public officer.
That the act or conduct must have been done either:
        maliciously; or
knowing that the impugned act or conduct is invalid/unauthorised and knowing that it will probably injure the claimant.
The act or conduct must cause loss or harm to the claimant.

As the bard said “Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown”, I believe Gordon has never been comfortable either as leader of the party or leader of the country. He perceives real or imaginary enemies both within the party and without, and despatches them with ruthless efficiency. Gordon has always been a latter day Ivan the Terrible surrounded by his Oprichnina, loyal and ruthless men willing do his bidding.

In reality in Brown’s Britain the little people suffer, the politicals are beyond the law. The BBC is a state broadcaster and little of the mainstream media can afford to say what they see an know.

The obvious problem for the likes of Brown and Ceauşescu is that eventually reality overtakes their delusional worlds, its an old story:

    OZYMANDIAS

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shatter’d visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp’d on these lifeless things,
The hand that mock’d them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
“My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!”
Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away

With bad news due in the budget and very bad news due in the June local and euro elections, followed by really, really bad news in July when the MP’s expenses are revealed, maybe Labour has an eye on toppling Brown and replacing him with a decent bloke for the run up to the 2010 election.

    Gordon the Moron McCavity Brown

I’m Gordon the Moron McCavity Brown
Whenever there’s trouble, I’m never around
The latest example where I wasn’t spied
Is the embarrassing case of Damian McBride.
McBride’s my Advisor; he’s known as a thug
My personal Rottweiler; a bit of a dog
He conspired to smear, with a mate known as Draper,
various Tory MPs: and approached the newspapers.
But the papers declined to publish the scandal
So Draper and McBride tried a different handle.
They made up a website, and called it Red Rag
Complete with a picture of the socialist flag.
They waited – an election was due the next year
So that’s when they wanted to launch all their smears.
But by some awful fate Guido Fawkes got the story
So I am the loser, not Cameron or the Tories.
McBride had to resign; and Draper is sidelined
The news is appalling, I’m unfairly maligned
I obviously denied that I knew of the smears
There’s nothing in writing – I have nothing to fear
But no-one belives me; McBride was my ‘dog’
He just didn’t understand the power of Blogs.
I couldn’t foresee that McBride would be named
But luckily for me, I cannot be framed
I’m Gordon the Moron McCavity Brown
Whenever there’s trouble, I’m never around!

        I hate Derek says:

        Obliged anon, here you go:

        Dear…..

I will keep this short and to the point. The resignation of Damien McBride, though accepted by Gordon Brown is clearly in breach of the conduct of office as laid down in the Ministerial Code of Conduct and the Code of Conduct for Civel Servants. Mr McBride was paid from taxpayer funds and in doing so should not in any way shape or form be making party political statements in any format using Government property. This he has clearly breached and admitted in public.

I hereby, formally request as my MP that an official complaint is made by you, on behalf of your constituent to the Metropolitan Police or at least to Tom Watson to investigate the criminal offence as laid out in the following paragraphs:

Paragraph 6 of the Code of Conduct for Special Advisers says,
“Special Advisers should not use official resources for Party political activity. … They should avoid anything which might reasonably lead to the criticism that people paid from public funds are being used for party political purposes.”

Furthermore, I wish you to make a point of order at the enxt sitting asking the Prime Minister to explain, why he did not act in accordance with the following code of conduct:

Paragraph 3.3 of the Ministerial Code has the answer:
“The responsibility for the management and conduct of special advisers, including discipline, rests with the Minister who made the appointment.”

I would further like to point out that Mr Tom Watson is HER MAJESTY’s minister for the Civil Service. As such HE is responsible to the QUEEN for the conduct of civil servants. Therefore my formal request is that as my MP I request you to make this complaint.

As my MP you have a duty to act on this, however, should you not wish to take this matter further, this will be noted and I shall make the complaint myself – I will make a further complaint that you do not wish to act on your constituents behalf.

I look forward to your reply,
        Yours Sincerely,

Here’s paragraph 3.3: “The responsibility for the management and conduct of special advisers … rests with the Minister who made the appointment.” So who is responsible? UK, whilst not being on a university course and,
in breach of and in violation of UK Visa rules for the
purposes of, to remain within the UK. They, the
local/national authorities did nothing then, allowed
and permitted the person to remain and this abuse of
UK Visas and situation still remains, still exists.
They, this Labour government did nothing then,
they are doing nothing now, or very little now and
will do even less in the future! Yes if people break
the rules, Law do your job but don’t persecute the
innocent, label all dark skinned persons as Terrorist!

In December 2008, I contacted Metropolitan
Police/Scotland Yard on behalf of and re the
protection of the UK people, to inform them of an
approach made to defraud the UK Public. They
weren’t interested, didn’t want to know and couldn’t
be bothered. Presumably, the money is now being
used to supply and fund these under-cover,
sleeper-cells, the terrorists within the UK. So where
    is the UK Protection?

We continually have the Home Secretary
Jacqui Smith MP coming on television, radio and,
in the media to further, Lie and misinform, deceive us,
the UK public about how she is protecting the UK
and then a campaign is run on her behalf that, she is
‘being victimised because she is a woman.’ She is
being condemned because she is abusing the system,
MP’s expenses, ‘the Home Office is not fit for
purpose,’** it was once said and thus She’s
insulting our intelligence. MP’s lie, not just once
but most of the time, but why? So as to give us,
the Public “a misleading impression,”* with
their oxymoronifick politics, to fool us the
Public, the people whom they are supposed to
represent, those who have elected them. They
hide behind the word “Spin” to make it sound
acceptable but it’s NOT! ‘Wake up and smell the
coffee!’ Could it be that MP’s have difficulty in
understanding when something is so plainly
wrong, unfair and unjust or is it that they just
want to be oblivious to it?

‘Politician lie’, according to an article
[20 September 2006] by the Guardian journalists
Anne Perkins so nothings changed since then…
The UK public are not as gullible as Labour
    ministers would have us believe.

This is yet another one that makes me chuckle. The so called question, how did Guido get the emails? This seems to be the focus in the news.

Well considering this is a Government that has lost so many peoples records its untrue, you would probably just have to sit on a Bus or train long enough for an MP to leave their laptop.

It moves on to another point that when each of the MP’s that have lost data on a bus or train, then why weren’t they all in 1st Class or such, seeing as that is what they have claimed for?

I was wondering what an acceptable end game for Brown in all this could possibly be? Quite frankly, I don’t think there is one.

Whichever way he turns, Brown’s damaged goods. If he throws McBride and Watson to the wolves, sooner or later the resentment or activities of one or the other will come back to haunt him – they know where the bodies are buried and Lord knows what they’ve been up to.

In contrast, Draper’s a waster that nobody really takes seriously (sorry Dolly) so his unavoidable demise can reasonable be written off as inconsequential.

McBride and Watson are in different category of seriousness given their official capacities and presence on the public payroll. Watson is particularly vulnerable, because as the politician directly responsible for McBride he owes the public an explanation for his actions in regard to McBride’s conduct, conduct which gives rise to clear disciplinary matters and, prima facie, police matters. Brown’s ‘we will revise the SpAd code’ bollox won’t wash; Watson and McBride are caught by the existing code.

Either way, Brown should be dumped and we should have an election.

It’s a perfect example of why our country’s economy is in so much trouble; labour think that negligence is fine and nothing to be ashamed of. Labour never make mistakes; they’re either ignorant of all the facts, or it was someone else’s fault.

The Downing St gossip machine was used mainly to keep Labour Ministers and MPs in line.
It is quite clear that much of what was on Mc Bride’s computer will be “true” stories about the whole of the Parliamentary Labour party, (including fellow Ministers), which were used by Brown to blackmail colleagues and MPs into line.
These computers need to be in the hands of the police as soon as humanly possible.

I haven’t read all the comments here, and doubtless someone’s already said this, but in any case, I think it’s worth saying again:

Gordon says he knew nothing about what was going on with the smears. I don’t know whether that’s true or not. But even if it is, that’s absolutely no defence. As PM, he is responsible for setting the appropriate culture within his office. Seriously, how hard would it be to make it clear to staff that telling lies and generally behaving like total slime is not acceptable? If people were behaving like McBride did, it’s simply because it was part of the No 10 culture.

If Gordon had the slightest shred of decency, he would resign over this. But I think we all know just how much decency he has, so I’m not holding my breath.

He doesn’t have a shred of decency and he wouldn’t resign over this or anything else. He will have to be dragged from No.10 after losing a General Election and even then will try to use any ruse to cling to power.

The Neo-Nazis have introduced a new type of politician to government. Vain. Arrogant. Self-Serving. Vindictive. Full of hubris and utterly without shame. Just look at the cabinet line-up.

With the relevations over the weekend this is (though a small part) still a part all the same of the overall gameplan.

I see the PM has written to Sir Gus O’Donnell, head of the civil service, calling for the Special Advisers’ Code of Conduct to be tightened-up – which in my mind seems totally innecessary given that it already states:

“Special advisers should conduct themselves with integrity and honesty.

“Special advisers should not use official resources for party political activity.

“They should not misuse their official position or information acquired in the course of their official duties to further their private interests or the private interests of others.

“They should act in a way which upholds the political impartiality of civil servants and does not conflict with the Civil Service Code.

“They should avoid anything which might reasonably lead to the criticism that people paid from public funds are being used for party political purposes.”

None of what McBride did with his emails is permissible under the current code. It’s expressly forbidden.

The only reason Brown is flying this ‘revised’ code kite is that under the code the relevant Minister, Tom Watson, is directly responsible for the actions of his SpAd. Brown is trying to keep Watson out of the frame as its ‘game over’ if he’s dragged into this. Watson knows where Brown’s bodies are buried, and the Brown’s ‘enemies within’ (the Blairites) have unfinished business with Watson…

So f**king funny on 5 Live commenting that Gordon Brown is ‘the least spun politician’, what a measly little maggot, claims he hasn’t spoken to Brown, he probably just removed his head from Brown’s arsehole so he could talk on the phone.

Can’t wait for PMQ’s, Cameron gets yet another chance to destroy Brown. Lets hope for once he can become a decent politician and get the job done. However I can see it already, Cameron puts a question to Brown, Brown responds with the same bullshit spin until no more questions can be asked. Cue the PM’s last word, cue the BBC studio, cue a set of morons minimising the issue, cue BBC over paid presenter, “and Cameron has failed again to damage Brown, see you next week”.

    Dear David,
Please don’t show this letter to any members of the public seeing as it would destroy my reputation and the place I hold in the public’s heart which I have worked very hard to build.

Now these silly emails that Mcbride has sent were of course nothing to do with me or anybody else in No10. Damien worked a long way away from me in the next room which depending on your spatial awareness is a long way away and seeing as I only have one eye the next room is (in my not very humble opinion) in my spatial perception is at least 10 miles away.

As for the content of the emails I can only but apologize from the bottom of my heart it was nothing to do with me but what I will say is this we should be looking over at those pests the Lib dems before they start gaining some ground so how about we unite and start our own web site called The Red Ring.
From The Red Ring we can release many lies about the Lib Dems.
I have one story that will be great it involves Vince Cable, a carrot and a time machine payed for by his expencess as an MP. What a corker that will be ho ho ho ho………
The other is Nick Clegg went fishing on a boat with 3 other men with woolly jumpers on!!!!!…..

Re an earlier comment with regard to the treason issue. Misprission of treason is no longer a capital offence (since act of parliament 1554-5), but a felony. However it is interesting in that it is committed by inaction; ie knowingly ignoring (forgive the oxymoron) that a treasonous act is being committed or has been committed and failing to report it. It seems to me that this misdemeanor applies to all our honourable friends – particularly with regard to the travesty of the European sell-out.

The Ghost of Christmas Past... says:

    Good evening, London.
I thought it was time we had a little talk.
Are you sitting comfortably? Good. Then I’ll begin.
Right now, I imagine there are soldiers rushing here to silence me because someone does not want us to talk.
They are afraid that I am going to say the things that are not supposed to be said. They are afraid that I am going to say the truth.
The truth is that there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn’t there? If you look about, you witness cruelty, injustice and despotism.
But what do you do about it? What can you do? You are but a single individual.
How can you possibly make any difference? Individuals have no power in this modern world.
That is what you’ve been taught because that is what they need you to believe. But it is not true.
This is why they are afraid and the reason that I am here; to remind you that it is individuals who always hold the power. The real power. Individuals like me. And
    individuals like you.
I have come to offer you a deal.
If you accept, a different world. A world without curfews, without soldiers and surveillance systems. A world that is not run by other men but that is
run by you. I am offering you a second chance.
Four hundred years ago, a great citizen made a most significant contribution to our common culture.
It was a contribution forged in secrecy and stealth although it is best remembered in noise and bright light. To commemorate that glorious night at precisely the stroke of midnight, all I ask is that you join me at the gates of parliament to watch as the past is erased, the pathway cleared so that together we can start toward a new day.
But, you ask, who am I to make such promises? A fair question but hardly necessary as you know me already. To know me any more you need only look to a mirror.
On the twelfth stroke of the fifth day of the eleventh month, I hope we shall all meet again.

    (from the Novel- “V”).
