Reading Draper’s apology I’d say it’s the last act for him. The tone of it suggests he’s going to try to bow out portraying himself as an idealist brought low by the dirty realities of political blogging. What bollocks.

Guido how does it feel to be Downing Streets most hated man? Congratulations again.

      Telegraph still reporting as follows

“They’re all stories which have been doing the rounds in Westminster for a while, written up in a scurrilous style. But the website has never appeared, so it’s hard to see what it was all about”

When we all know the website actually exists.

Proof is any were needed that the Telegraph and the Beeb should be treated with the contempt they both deserve. Could have chosen a better name for it though as this shows if you inadvertently get your search slightly wrong. This has draper all over it.

Brown skewered by a comment I just spotted on PB:

You know, the comparisons between Brown and Nixon don’t seem so hyperbolic any more. When history is written it will say they both ran administrations envenomed with bitterness, paranoia, self-deception and aggressive partisanship that strayed into illegality.

The main difference is that Nixon was halfway competent and (has been pointed out before on pb) was at least elected.

This is just tremendous fun. Talk about sword living / sword dying.

There’s a serious point here, though; the filth that swills round Westminster is usually cordoned off, far from the prying eyes of the poor bloody public. The lobby, for the most part, have their fingers in the proverbial dyke, helping to keep it contained and peeping over the levee only when they think we’ll be interested in what they can see.

I hope that this is the beginning of the end for Brown, the pivotal moment at which the scales fall from the eyes of those who provided soft support for Labour in ‘97, 01 and ‘05. The point at which in years to come historians will point out marked the long descent towards opposition for an administration bereft of ideas or talent and riddled with sleaze, greed and excess.

    Let’s hope so.

I look forward to reading in excruciating detail all of these emails and then look forward to the media circus surrounding the subsequent libel cases.

    HIS STATEMENT:

‘If hooking up one raghead terrorist prisoner’s testicles to a car battery to get the truth out of the lying little camelshagger will save just one Australian life, then I have only three things to say,’
