The smear operation was silly, but not as silly as the MSM think, since the truth about Cameron may be far more damaging, and may relate to more recent events. Better-informed members of the government and intelligence services are said to be aware and holding back.

A retired intelligence officer is alleged to have briefed in Eric Pickles, and rumours are flying around the patriotic, God-fearing, Empire-loving Right wing of the Party that DC may be forced to resign by the Chairman.

The problem for DC is that intelligence files on him are not just held in the UK but in South Africa, Russia, France, Germany, China, Taiwan and the US. Obviously the French, the Germans and the Chinese will not be going public on a man committed to serving the EU (in effect Franco-German) interest, and the CIA are staying quiet for the time being, but the Russians, South Africans and Taiwanese are a different matter.

Rand Daily Mail and other SA papers with intel connections are said to be in the loop.

Key right-wingers with intelligence connections are said to have opened up a channel of communication with Taipei. Certainly there is a stream of damaging intelligence about the ChiComs headed to Taipei, inlcuding details of Mao Tse Tung’s recruitment by the German Secret Service (pre-Abwehr) in Paris and Chinese Intelligence’s (CSIS) role in the sabotage of two Boeing 777-200 aircraft flying out from Chinese airports.
