      • 115

Priceless, and indeed you really ARE ‘thick as two short planks’ not thieves..

Its the bankers who have been voting Labour these last 12 years and cosying up to Labour getting knighthoods from labour running enquiries for labour.

Tories are ANGRY that the country is going down the drain you asshole.

And … dear ‘oldie’ (et al), the whole point is you cannot speak like this in parliament – Cameron was forced to withdraw the entirely unremarkable epithet ‘phoney’. Hannan spent 3 minutes where one word would have done – a word you cannot use in our parliament.

Jeeze it must be an uphill task writing their stuff and then in a quiet moment trying to work out how it actually correlates with reality, all the while getting their arses kicked on here and unable to spout ZNL nonsense on the streets for fear of being lynched. youdontknowme says:

        set up against who?
Guido can do what he likes, and Draper does have something to lose – his route back to (self) importance in the labour party. I note the BBC has fished out old articles to remind people of DD’s past.

While I’m at it – a couple of points as to why he’s the worse person for the job:
Didn’t DD realise that all internet discussions end up like a bear pit? (didnt he see the BBC’s own “have your say” before it pretty much disappeared).
I wonder why his name doesnt appear on any labourlist articles any more?

Perhaps the worst thing for Guido is he’d be doing the labour party a massive favour if DD ends up being dumped by them.

Well, they CARE about what they’re AWARE about. Just like the BBC and the ‘court of public opinion’ do-your-patriotic-duty-lynch-a-banker has resulted in Fred Goodwin’s house being vandalised. Normally it’s the News of The World inciting such direct action against peedurfiles and being roundly condemned by the police and politicians.

In this case it’s the fucking government and their mouthpiece inciting such vigilante action. Will the police be arresting Harman for incitement?

The people will CARE about Brown as soon as they become aware that their long-held suspicion that he’s the fucker at the bottom of this gord-awful mess is confirmed by some public showing that they’re not alone in this conclusion. For the moment though, for some reason they’re being told, by the BBC, to lynch Fred Goodwin.

Why would that be do you think? Cui bono?

Somethings afoot – but Brown will be the LAST to know it seems as he continues on his “junket” around the Globe – with very little creditability or authority left either with other World leaders or his own electorate.

The Queen takes her “Coronation Oath” and her “Constitutional Duty” extremely seriously and it’s unthinkable she would take the unprecedented step of seeing the Governor of the Bank of England without reference to her Prime Minister without first seeking advice of Senior Privy Councillors.

Constitutionally Brown appears safe – unless he loses a vote of confidence- or sufficient numbers of the Cabinet threaten to withdraw their support – he should be able to continue in office but technically the Sovereign can dismiss a sitting Prime Minister under the Royal Prerogative although it would be unthinkable(or would it)for her to do so or even to contemplate it without first taking soundings from a variety of senior politicians and Privy Councillors but you can certain she will be exercising her constitutional right to warn at her next Prime Ministerial Audience. Whether Brown listens is another matter of course – he hasn’t listened to anyone else -either friend or foe but another failed Gilt Auction which requires an application to the IMF for a bail-out will be fatal for him politically and the face-saving “ill health” – “over-work”(take your pick) are the “get out of jail card” for Labour and the increasingly despairing Cabinet but Brown will not go easily into the night that is one total absolute in all of this

    The Basa says:

Daniel Hannan MEP: The devalued Prime Minister of a devalued Government

Prime Minister, I see you’ve already mastered the essential craft of the European politician: namely the ability to say one thing in this chamber and a very different thing to your home electorate. You’ve spoken here about Free Trade – and amen to that.

Who would have guessed, listening to you just now, that you were the author of the phrase ‘British jobs for British workers’ and that you have subsidised, where you have not nationalised outright, swathes of our economy, including the car industry and many of the banks? Perhaps you would have more moral authority in this house if your actions matched your words? Perhaps you would have more legitimacy in the councils of the world if the United Kingdom were not going into this recession in the worst condition of any G20 country?

The truth, Prime Minister, is that you have run out of our money. The country as a whole is now in negative equity. Every British child is born owing around £20,000. Servicing the interest on that debt is going to cost more than educating the child. Now, once again today you try to spread the blame around; you spoke about an international recession, international crisis.

Well, it is true that we are all sailing together into the squalls. But not every vessel in the convoy is in the same dilapidated condition. Other ships used the good years to caulk their hulls and clear their rigging; in other words – to pay off debt. But you used the good years to raise borrowing yet further. As a consequence, under your captaincy, our hull is pressed deep into the water line under the accumulated weight of your debt.

We are now running a deficit that touches 10% of GDP, an almost unbelievable figure. More than Pakistan, more than Hungary; countries where the IMF have already been called in.

Now, it’s not that you’re not apologising; like everyone else I have long accepted that you’re pathologically incapable of accepting responsibility for these things. It’s that you’re carrying on, wilfully worsening our situation, wantonly spending what little we have left. Last year – in the last twelve months – a hundred thousand private sector jobs have been lost and yet you created thirty thousand public sector jobs.

Prime Minister, you cannot carry on for ever squeezing the productive bit of the economy in order to fund an unprecedented engorgement of the unproductive bit. You cannot spend your way out of recession or borrow your way out of debt. And when you repeat, in that wooden and perfunctory way, that our situation is better than others, that we’re well-placed to weather the storm, I have to tell you that you sound like a Brezhnev-era apparatchik giving the party line.

You know, and we know, and you know that we know that it’s nonsense! Everyone knows that Britain is worse off than any other country as we go into these hard times. The IMF has said so; the European Commission has said so; the markets have said so – which is why our currency has devalued by thirty percent. And soon the voters too will get their chance to say so. They can see what the markets have already seen: that you are the devalued Prime Minister of a devalued government.”

Seems Porsche are seen as a good bet on the markets…

‘Porsche secures ten billion credit line – negotiations successfully finalised

Porsche Automobil Holding SE, Stuttgart, finalised negotiations to secure a new credit facility of Euro ten billion to redeem a credit of the same size. The credit framework contract allows Porsche to extend the volume to Euro 12.5 billion in the forthcoming weeks. In the wake of the extremely difficult global economic environment and the turbulences in the bond market banks needed additional assessment, thus resulting in a need for extra time. In addition to that, the new consortium includes banks that so far have not been counterparts of Porsche with respect to credit lines.

The credit line will be guaranteed by a consortium of 15 banks including Barclays Capital, Commerzbank, LBBW, Deutsche Bank, UBS, Credit Suisse, Santander, BayernLB, BNP Paribas, Calyon, UniCredit/HVB, Helaba, Intesa, WestLB und DZ-Bank. Agreed at market conditions are two tranches of twelve month with the right of extending a tranche of Euro 6.7 billion for an additional year. Porsche intends to pay down the smaller tranche fast and aims for credit ratings the results of which should be available in May 2009.’

The one eyed Hoon of the Manse not only wished Senator Kennedybunkport a speedy recovery, but the Hoon actualy set foot on American soil.
Its a fucking shoe in for The Beast

He’s still going on about it, will someone please shoot this scottish bastard. This from BBC website”UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown urges G20 leaders at next week’s summit to take action to reform the world’s banking system”. Yes please do something about it while he’s in America, can the Yank’s steal his passport and flog him to a couple of hillbilly hicks down south, or take him to a grassy knoll in Dallas.

    Stanley, UK says:

Dan Hannan has gone global. A soundbite from the speech was played on the Rush Limbaugh radio show earlier today in the US, with the immensely popular and influential host telling listeners in the states “The Republican party over here can learn a lot from the boldness of this man!” Great job and lets hear more of it!!

The rest of the world seems to know what the situation is in this basket case of a country, so why don’t we?? The fucking BBC is simply a mouthpiece for the ZaNuLabour hoons. This is fucking scary, the only place is the internet to get an alternative view. Even this is under attack, see the DT website … government want to snoop on Facebook, Myspace, Bebo…to counter terrorism of course. Hoons!!!

Great stuff. Why don’t we hear straightforward condemnations like this from the Three Stooges, Cameron, Osborne and Clark.

So depressing that the WetCons are watching the Country go down the pan while they worry about appearing to be all things to everyone.

They’d make good crew members for Gordon’s sinking hulk.

Why isn’t this Daniel guy in the shadow cabinet instead of wasting his talents in Brussels.

That the Media over here is ignoring this story is a scandal. Just goes to show the Americans truly are the land of the free and we can only look on with envy.

Hannon is definately a star arising.

He not only gave Broon a drubbing but it was the best speech attacking this lame brained PM ever. His You Tube performances have all got 5 stars.

His other speeches (without telepronting which the Americans have gleefully noted) has gone down a storm, and he is giving the Eurocrats a difficult time.
However they are generally unaccountable, except to themselves and their peers, so most of his efforts, though heroic, will be wasted.
