Be Careful What You Wish For…

Guido will be watching Monday’s “Where Did It All Go Wrong?Dispatches on Channel 4 gleefully. Jacqui Smith is quoted as saying “I told him he should have had a holiday last summer…” Comparing yesterday’s pictures of Gordon and Tony it is undeniable that Gordon needs a very long holiday. Most voters would be happy to give him a permanent one as well. Gordon looks at death’s door. By contrast Tony on the GMTV sofa yesterday looked younger, fit and tanned, most of all he looked happy and relaxed.

Gordon is not enjoying power as much as Guido is enjoying the destruction of the Labour Party as an electoral force under his leadership. Odd is it not that what Guido was dreading and Gordon was craving – Brown as Prime Minister – has made him miserable and Guido cheerfully jump out of his bed every morning. Be careful what you wish for…

“Most people want to read nasty things about people, not nice things.”

Maybe if they really wanted to “decontaminate the Labour brand” with business people, they shouldn’t have totally buggered up the economy?

Just a thought.
