Gold Standard

Tony Hadley, former front man from 80s legends Spandau Ballet had just done a cabaret turn for the Tories and was returning back to the Imperial Hotel. It was late and the bar was packed, but on seeing Hadley the cheering crowd spontaneously broke into chorus;

Gold
Always believe in your soul
Youve got the power to know
Youre indestructible
Always believe in, because you are
Gold!

The Tories clearly know and love all the 80s tunes. There is a metaphor here somewhere…

John Higginson of the Metro explains Quantitative Easing:

“There is £100 and 100 loaves of bread costing £1 each. QE creates another £100. Each loaf now costs £2.”

DisgustedOfMitcham2 says:

Maybe if they really wanted to “decontaminate the Labour brand” with business people, they shouldn’t have totally buggered up the economy?

Just a thought.
