Buried in Brown’s statement yesterday was a commitment to an e-petition system for parliament. Which seems the more correct procedure rather than petitioning the PM. The statement is a bit vague but yesterday afternoon Brown’s spokesman said that e-petitions would have a ‘trigger’ at which Parliament would have to have a debate.
