   Francis Maude said “we might even have some unmoderated blogs” – the parties still don’t get it. the presenter said “bloggers will be admitted to party conferences” – the media don’t get it either. Bloggers will be at all the party conferences whether the parties like it or not.

   Thats because their is Left and right wing libertarians, but the left wing ones, you may have noted, have all but died out as a species.

   Now days a large magority of libertarians see capitalism and individual property rights as the only way to obtain and conserve personal and world wide liberty.

   This is now reconised by many in the media although they will never often say so. The BBC would never dream of telling anyone, not even themselves.

   Yes, i suppose you are right, it all has to be “pragmatic Libertarianism “(ha!) now doesnt it?
   Look at (dare i mention the name?) Chris Hitchens, doubling back on himself , and Nic Cohen,now with his “what’s left?”
   thesis,whereby everything a lot of us think of as the fault of the “right” ( ie Bush and Blair) is, in fact ,the fault of the “left” , mainly through inaction.
   In Christopher Hitchens’ case it does seem like a deliberate perversity..his recent “Great Lives” program on Trotsky, (hosted by Matthew Parris) was a hugely entertaining ,unravelling,retrospective self- justification ,that degenerated and disintegrated as his own youthful beliefs seemed to evaporate as he spoke about them…
   i had to admire his bravery …
   They should have played out with “No More Heroes” by The Stranglers”
