Marr Interviewing Gordon

Word reaches Guido that Andrew Marr is doing an interview with Gordon this weekend. Don’t fluff it this time Marr.

The last interview immediately post Gordon’s attempted coup d’ etat was a crucial opportunity. Gordon’s fingerprints were all over it, he was clearly lying about his knowledge of, and attitude to it. He had even met a plotter on the eve of the putsch. It was clear for all to see and Gordon was in difficulties. Marr had an open goal…

Nick Robinson, Paxman or Andrew Neil could have crucified Brown, Frost would have ambushed him silkily. Even Ant and Dec would probably have scored a goal. What did Marr do? This pathetic interview was the political equivalent of fellatio. Gordon left smiling and relieved.

Will Marr ask Gordon any questions beyond “How brilliant will it be when you take over?” What about Gordon pushing for gongs for the Sith’s Wilf Stevenson and Ronnie Cohen, PFI profiteer and backer of Gordon? What is Gordon’s plan for Iraq beyond platitudes and educating every Iraqi kid? Don’t be a patsy this time.

“There is £100 and 100 loaves of bread costing £1 each. QE creates another £100. Each loaf now costs £2.”

Maybe if they really wanted to “decontaminate the Labour brand” with business people, they shouldn’t have totally buggered up the economy?

Just a thought.
